ProfitKey - Really nice system

Kommentare: ProfitKey is a very good fit for a job shop type business. We get excellence scheduling information, that helps drive our business. The efficiency information helps us manage the output of our employees and gives them feedback on their performance. Excellent system to manage your business.

Vorteile:

Scheduling system is very robust. Cost tracking is very detailed. Labor tracking is easy using the barcode feature Quoting is very simple The support group does a good job responding to questions.

Nachteile:

Need more cost information on the Dashboard feature

Vorteile:

The ProfitKey software covers every essential aspect of our business from quoting to getting the product out the door on time. The staff always responds promptly to any need we have and they are genuinely invested in helping us in any way possible. It is customer service the way it was meant to be. That aspect is important to any business but critical to small businesses. There are a lot of aspects to love about this software. Having a demo database that we can update at any moment to duplicate our live database is an excellent tool when exploring how some changes might affect operations without taking any risks in the live database. I am able to attach work instructions, pictures, and videos directly to an operation for clarification purposes - an awesome tool in ISO risk management. No more white boards or hot lists, the scheduler can be changed and updated so the people have up-to-the moment information on which jobs should run next from their MES components. ProfitKey's off-site backup service, in addition to my own backup practices, gives me peace of mind knowing we have knowledgeable people protecting our data. And perhaps as important as any other aspect, ProfitKey has an active user group that keeps the continual improvement ideas flowing.

Nachteile:

If there was anything I could change, it would be to have a printed help book because I'm a book person. But their online help files are good.

The database design needs some work. There should be some way of putting an ID on ship to addresses

Vorteile:

We have been able to get the information we need out of the software. It has most of the functions that we need. The design matches our style of manufacturing and the size of our company.

Nachteile:

The modules are not named well. Its difficult to find the menu function you want to perform. The menu structure seems to be a carryover from when the software was written in Cobol. What they used to call a "workbench" of tools became a menu in the new software. The layout of the menus and modules should be rethought. For example, what is the difference between Manufacturing Operations and Manufacturing Planning. What should be on Accounting menus versus Inventory Management/Purchasing.

Our experience with Profit Key ERP over the last 20 years has been very positive.

Kommentare: The biggest benefit this software give us is the control of product flow. We handle thousands of custom parts through hundreds of work centers and Profit Key gives us the ability to schedule the product, knowledge of performance, and the ability to change routings or schedules as needed.

Vorteile:

The flexibility it gives the user to incorporate the software in with existing critical systems. It is also complex enough to cover almost any type of system but simple enough that the learning curve is very reasonable.

Nachteile:

The import export method is antiquated. Granted the software is not geared to larger volume order companies and is great for small volume complex orders. But for large volume simple orders where manual entry is not a viable option, the flat file import process is clumsy. Profit Key has been very helpful and agreeable in working with us on a couple of customs programs to offset some of these difficulties until a new interface can be deployed.

Can handle both product line and job shop

Kommentare: It works well with master and non master scheduled items thru bill of material. Gives accurate due dates of components. Profit Key handles everything from the time an order is placed, made, shipped, invoiced and paid. No need for other software including time keeping and costing.

Vorteile:

Works great for a company that has a product line and job shop.

Nachteile:

some forms are lengthy when they could be on just one page.

PROFIT KEY FOR SHEET METAL FABRICATION

Kommentare: Overall my experience with the system has been positive. The total business integration is the strongest aspect of the system. I have used the system for 22 years between 2 different companies.

Vorteile:

Profit key integrates all company functions very well.

Nachteile:

The reports that come directly from PROFIT KEY do not always include all of the information you need. Crystal reports seem to be the fallback for this issue. If you cannot write Crystal reports you must pay a significant amount to have them done for you.

Profitkey is a great company!

Vorteile:

This product has helped our company run efficiently by improve our manufacturing process in real-time and giving us a central location where we input our companies data. The reports that we use in Profitkey allow us to see a clear picture of the data we enter on a daily basis which helps keep our company organized and in return helps us improve the quality of our company. Profitkey support is also very helpful. Their support always replies to our questions in a timely manner and helps us sort out any issues we run into.

Nachteile:

Profitkey is open to taking suggestions which they implement into future updates. That means if there is anything that you dislike about their software they are willing to listen and fix the issues in the future.

Our company uses ProfitKey to control and manage shop and overhead activities.

Vorteile:

The functionality for customer management, purchasing, inventory control, BOMs, etc. It makes our work flow more efficient and effective.

Nachteile:

The lack of functionality in scheduling--specifically with materials being accounted for at the start of a work center operation.

we have had this for a very long time and it works but we don't use it to its full potential

Vorteile:

It does what it was designed to do, for the most part it is a very stable platform, can be customized to any ones needs, and runs pretty fast

Nachteile:

very difficult to set up and install, requires a lot of training and knowledge and this is the main factor as to why we don't utilize it to its full potential

Vorteile:

This ERP system is deeply integrated with a complete range of functional modules that all work in concert. Our company uses all of the core modules and the product is deeply integrated into every aspect of our operations. ProfitKey is a great company to work with and they are very responsive to our needs. There technical support team is first rate.

Nachteile:

For a long time I considered the user interface to be clunky but this has improved dramatically with the releases of the past few years. Still, they system could use some interface designs that tie the data from various modules in one seamless view.

Vorteile:

Profit Key has great training tools such as webex topic sessions, a ticket system supported by engineers who intimately know the product and can help users with their particular issues, and Application Engineers who can come to your facility and train your users one on one. The Application Engineers develop relationships with the users and knowledge of your company so they know the best way to help you use the product.

Nachteile:

Profit Key is always on the cutting edge of new development and modules to help companies move forward more efficiently. I'd love to see them have dedicated engineers for enhancements/developments of existing modules.

ProfitKey has been a reliable platform for our ERP requirements

Vorteile:

The support from the ProfitKey personnel has been timely and complete. Our suggestions are reviewed, and if supported by the user base, they are incorporated into the product in a timely manner.

Nachteile:

Ownership has changed a few times in recent years, slowing the positive progress and momentum in enhancing the product.

Good system for small business

Kommentare: This is a simple program to learn the basics of with a multitude of options. The user interface is very straight forward. It is mostly all encompassing as far as ERP systems go. The options are plentiful, but sometimes lengthy to find. Extra seats are economical. A good tool for a small business trying to track quote to cash.
