Kommentare: Psychconsult is an EHR that our mental health agency has used for 14 years (4 of which I have been a part of). We use this software for our medical billing, medical documentation, clinical reporting, internal messaging, and much more. Although the software is not perfect it provides one of the best options for an all-encompassing solution which is key to fast and efficient workflows. In addition to what the software does internally, it also interfaces with several other pieces of software for a variety of different services such as Microsoft Dynamics for Accounting or Application Extender for scanning and paperless options. You are also able to work with the development team indirectly and directly for customizations that provide added functionality on an as-needed basis. Psychconsult is also Meaningful Use Compliant and interfaces with state Health Information Exchanges which allows up to the minute client data to be sent and received from State databases.

Kommentare: It is the mission of Rockbridge Area Community Services to help prevent and treat mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse, and to enhance the quality of life of individuals who experience these conditions. We were looking for new software in order to go from paper clinical charts to electronic clinical records and to streamline our clinical processes along the way. We previously used CMHC for our patient demographic & reporting functions, billing, and other financial functions. Clinical staff used Word for their clinical documents and forms. We are currently using Provider Version 7.1.1. We bought Provider in 2007 and implemented it in 2008 starting on Version 5.6.1. Implementation took 12+ months since we were bringing up Provider clinical, administrative, billing, and reporting functions all with the same go-live date. Implementation went fairly well. We stayed on track. Askesis provided a great deal of training for the implementation team and assisted us in setting up the needed tables, etc. to make our processes work. Staff members did learn Provider quickly and find it easy to use. With in-house orientations most new staff learned to use PsychConsult in a short amount of time. For routine questions/issues, Askesis Customer Support is good. For more complicated issues, support is not always timely. Customizations take time and testing these customizations take more time than most staff can endure. Internally, we have a Work Group as well as a User Test Group, which meet regularly to work through process issues and test functionality which keeps momentum going for using the system optimally. Our agency has benefited from using Provider. Monthly billing now takes a half a day rather than 5 days. Reporting to the State now takes one and half hours instead of one and a half days. Clinical staff preparation time for annual client reviews and intakes has decreased as they don't have to collect and organize sheets of paper. Insurance authorizations for provding services are easier to track. Internal QI staff are able to audit all of our programs on a quarterly basis. And we have done away with dozens of file cabinets.

Kommentare: PsychConsult Provider by Askesis was selected as the "vendor of choice" for our Behavioral Health Group Practice. The search was based on a need for a "psych" based application as the application that was in use at the time was not behavioral health specific enough for our needs. We purchased PsychConsult in 2010 and went live with it in January 2011. We have been on Provider for 2 years now and just recently upgraded to the most current release 7.2.0.
Our implementation via "the whole building" process went well and very smooth, thanks to our Askesis Implementation manager.
Our kickoff was March 2010 and our build, test, and training took approx 8 months. Having had prior experience with practice management systems, the staff was able to learn and adapt quickly to Provider.
ADGSupport has been stellar in their support for us. There were times that the time to resolve may have been longer than we desired, but we fully understand that they are busy supporting other clients.
One of the areas that I would like to suggest improving is the “end reporting”. The current model suggests having a skilled SQL or Crystal Reports developer on staff to be able to create the reports we need. We did not have a report developer but are taking the steps to become more educated with the report writing tools and training the necessary staff.
We are anticipating and look forward to becoming full EMR with "Provider" by the end of this year, and of course, could not do this without the support from Askesis.
Note: The annual user conference is one of the best I have ever been to and can only commend Askesis for their customer support by having the user’s conference. They get a big 10 on the Users Conference!

Vorteile: It is fairly simple and easy to use. I mostly use it for the bed management tool, which is pretty straightforward.

Nachteile: It seems a bit outdated to me, especially compared to more modern programs like Prism. It also isn't the most direct or logical in terms of its layout and interface.

PsychConsult works fine if it meets your needs

Vorteile: I use this software at a temporary place of employment. It worked absolutely fine for the needs of this psych ward. It was easy to learn as a practitioner and met the needs of the clinic.

Nachteile: I did not have an issue with the software. However, now that I work in a much smaller practice, I could not see the cost of the product being beneficial. This appears to be good software for medium to large clinics.
