A Cruical Application for time tracking.

Vorteile:

To help me keep track of the time I spend working on different tasks, I use Tick daily. I occasionally work as a remote worker, which necessitates keeping track of the hours spent on a project. Without Tick, I'd be confused.

Nachteile:

The price is little bit costlier. It requires more money to unlock more features.

Serviceable Time-Tracking App

Vorteile:

Tick allows you to track time to projects, broken into as many sub-categories as you need to encompass all the elements of that project. You can easily see a breakdown of your time and ensure that you're tracking the right amount of time to a day/week or project. It also allows you to set time budgets you can track against.

Nachteile:

The reporting function can be a bit cumbersome; I wish it would automatically port to Excel or into more of a spreadsheet format, rather than a long list. It also will automatically create a "shortcut" menu based on your recent entries, so you don't have to scroll through all the projects/tasks to find the one you need to enter time into, but I wish that shortcut menu was customizable rather than auto-generated.

Using Tick Depends on Company Needs

Kommentare: Since my team of graphic designers is the smallest of my teams, for me it isn't worth the effort to have a separate system for them to use. But it could be amazing for someone else.

Vorteile:

Example: Graphic Designers do not necessarily need to be in the office or on campus to complete their assignments. But we do need a way to assign their projects (tasks), allocate the time/hours allowed for the project, and any other details. You can set these parameters for an individual employee or for a team of graphic designers. This team is quite small so it works.

Nachteile:

The benefit of this software is also the downfall. It works great for a small team. This is not something I would use for my larger teams because I cannot integrate it with our university-wide Workday system. As a work team, we use Trello and Zapier but it doesn't necessarily correlate with timesheets.

Kommentare: With my busy schedule,Tick has helped me in tracking my time in relevance to achieving my set goal.It's easy to use and amazing add on for basecamp

For a busy person ,bad with keeping track of time like me,Tick is the solution.The accounts and projects are flexiable and very easy to set it up.It helps in easy tracking of time by indicating the time allocated,time billed and the remaining time hense enabling the user hit the set target.It's easy to import projects and add different tasks and produce detailed time reports by company project and task.one can easily retrieve the data and add to pivot tables to graphically view where time is spent.The best part of it is,it intergrates well with project management software such as Basecamp which bring the time tracking and budget feedback into project management workflow.

Nachteile:

Though it can be manageble,i find the process of editing past time entries from any of the summary views long and tiresome.It is also slow at sometimes when it comes for updating time entry field with the item clicked .

Great way to measure project speed.

Vorteile:

Tick simplifies how our projects are tracked and budgeted, providing every employee with an idea of how much time is expended on every project. Resulting in increased productivity on the long run ,as employees are able to compare their speed rate on one project against another. Tick integrates well with Basecamp ,and it is so easy to import our projects from Basecamp into Tick.Likewise , making it very easy to estimate the cost of new projects and compare them with past projects we have done.It has a nice Chrome extension and can be used while on the move ,via mobile.

Nachteile:

It is a whole lot of work trying to manage a project management program on one hand and using Tick on the other hand ,on a single project. Will be a good development ,if Tick can be upgraded into a full blown project management tool.

Tick is an easy way to track your project and task and can also track the progress of project.

Kommentare: It reminds me to track my time and also reminds me about the progress. It can also import my projects and add various tasks in it. I can easily retrieve my data from it. It could prove the great app for the upcoming time in the business world.

Vorteile:

It can be used easily and it’s the time budgeting. Its auto-fill feature for finding out project is something good. The data saving method of this software is always proved too good. I can easily see all the projects and task at a one place and it saves lots of time.

Nachteile:

Its interface is not that good. Native desktop app is not available and the time can’t be inserted on time of day. People say that they found base camp and liquid planner way better than this software.

Easiest time tracking tool

Kommentare: The simple and low-profile integration (app) with our Mac users makes it easy to track time. I would hope a more robust app version would be implemented as an option in the future.

Vorteile:

I love how easy Tick is to use. The interface is streamlined for both the user and administrator. The API is simple, yet has just enough features to make it worth implementing.

Nachteile:

The software is great for freelance base and general time tracking, but not for payroll. Because of this, we use another software for actual payroll.

Great Time Tracking Tool

Kommentare: It has boosted our workflow efficiency significantly. We weren't aware of how much guesstimating was killing us until we started using Tick.

Vorteile:

One thing we struggle with is giving accurate times for our project. While estimation was ok, over time we were severely over/under budgeting our time. Tick gives us up-to-date, solid data on how much time we're actually spending on each project. It's features are simple, and simple is what we need. There's not a lot of fancy gimmicks which has been a blessing. We don't have time to mess around with in-depth functionality and were just looking for a clock to keep track of our projects. Does it in spades.

Nachteile:

If you're looking for a more fleshed out project management software, this might not be your best option. Its efficiency is found in its simplicity.

We better measure project time and budget.

Vorteile:

We use Tick to set a budget for every of our team project. We are able to setup our projects , assign project tasks and projected budget for the project. We are allowed to modify our project budget ,by either increasing or decreasing the budget. Overall Tick has made it very easy to effectively plan the time and resource we allot to a project.Allowing us dedicate more time or less time to projects ; depending on their size.

Nachteile:

Have only got reservations about the visual setup for our projects.It makes it cumbersome to differentiate between the actual time and budget time.

Tick makes every tock considered

Kommentare: Tick has allowed me to manage and track projects and tasks with ease. Overdue deadlines are easily recognizable and allow you to prioritize your time.

Vorteile:

Excuse the poor pun. Tick is a wonderful time management software used to help coordinate deadlines and and manage projects. Tick can be run on computers, phones and even an apple watch. The universal accessibility makes Tick easy to implement and easy to follow. Tick allows for "budget tracking" which helps tell you if you or your team is falling behind on a particular task or project.

Nachteile:

Tick unfortunately cannot force you or your team to do a project. In all seriousness, Tick has a single purpose and can easily be overtaken by a more sophisticated piece of software that includes project management.

Track the Time with #Tick

Vorteile:

The best and the most useful feature that I truly like about Tick is that is helps in managing the projects and tracking their deadline efficiently.

Nachteile:

The User interface could have been better otherwise, everything is good.

I type in my time at the end of each day. I have never had any issues.

Vorteile:

I almost always have the project name in my head - being able to autofill rather than browse keeps my mind from being interrupted. The same goes for the task - autofill beats browsing all the time, but it's great to know I have browsing were I to need it (1 time out of 20). The way each entry saves in an inline container all on the same page has always been helpful. I take shorthand notes on paper throughout the day of my time rounded to the quarter hour. Seeing everything at once helps me to confirm I didn't miscalculate hours.

Nachteile:

The fact that it could be a little bit more but probably can't be. I'm a freelancer and use all kinds per studio. Tick achieves the time tracking capabilities I need at this office. As far as time tracking & reporting goes I find Harvest to be the best, you guys second. They're even simpler - at least on the the main level. You have them beat on the secondary level of autofill. If you wanted to be more than tracking & reports and included planning I think you could take down Liquid Planner & Mavenlink. If you integrated the visual style and structure of Teamweek's horizontal timeline you might have a corner on the market. You could beat out Liquid Planner (too clunky and granular) & Mavenlink (not enough specificity). I don't see the need to overreach into asset management. Basecamp is better than Liquid Planner for project asset tracking but more and more people are relying on Dropbox/Drive + a Google spreadsheet. Thus people might use you for time tracking, team scheduling, budget forecasting/reports - and then leave the asset management to the more agile Dropbox/Drive/Box world.

Makes tracking time spent on projects a breeze!

Kommentare: Tick has been a crucial find for me that helps me be more effective in my work and keep track of time seamlessly.

Vorteile:

I use Tick daily to help monitor and track the time I spend on various projects. I do some freelance work that requires keeping track of hours worked on a project and would be lost without Tick. I love the plug-in for Google Chrome that enables me to easily start and stop the timer without opening another program or window. It's been a lifesaver!

Nachteile:

If you want to have more functionality (additional projects, etc.) you may have to pay more for a plan with those features but it seems more than comparable with other software on the market.

Sophisticated applications like Tick does matter in Project Management

Vorteile:

Adding and updating features is most important for any application and Tick does the same, it keeps on updating and adding new features. Easy to understand, use and manage the task. Ease of use what I like the most, you can use it on web/mobile anywhere and be updated with the notification on the go.

Nachteile:

For me, there is nothing to complain about it. I wish I could integrate this application and send automated time sheets to all.

My company uses this just to track time spent on various projects and it works pretty well for us.

Vorteile:

Works on via the web as well as software installed on Mac or PC. For a company like ours who use a variety of browsers and operating systems, this seems to work the same for everyone. My preference is the web interface as it allows me to enter time as I'm doing it, ahead of time, or after the fact. I use the widget on the Mac side to provide regular reminders to log my time, which is the kick in the tush I usually need.

Nachteile:

With a lot of projects on the account, it can take a while to switch from entering time into existing projects to editing that project or creating a new one. Doesn't integrate with our other project software (or we haven't tried to do so), so there's no detail to the projects...just a reference to log the time.

Tick Overall Review

Kommentare: Tick is a great add-on for Basecamp. It provides an easy way to enter time for different projects. We use it in conjunction with Basecamp II. It is super easy to import your projects and add different tasks. i.e. For our projects, we assigned tasks such as Construction QC, Construction Engineering, Indirect Time, Meetings, PTO, Training, etc.
Easy user interfaces to select project, select task and enter the time completed. It also exports to excel in which it was easy to retrieve the data and add to pivot tables to graphically view where time is being spent.
It used to have a great timer app for the computer or cell phone but security concerns with Basecamp shut it down for Basecamp II. Not sure if it's been added to Basecamp III. Great value for up and coming businesses and with the export capability can prepare for bigger platforms.

Vorteile:

Ease of use.

Nachteile:

Needs the timer function back.

Great time tracker with free option

Kommentare: We are a small team & spend the majority of each week working remotely. A good time tracking tool is essential to make sure everyone is doing their share. It must be intuitive to use and cause minimal disruption to work flow. Tick filled this need nicely for us for quite some time.

Vorteile:

I liked the phone app & desktop app combo, ease of use, and the fact that it was able to integrate with project mgt software such as Basecamp. Tick offers a free option which is great for small teams & freelancers.

Nachteile:

The reporting was not as dynamic as we would have liked. It’s very simple, which can work well in certain cases, but as our team grew we ended up needing something a bit more robust.

Ticker it's easy and good time frame management

Vorteile:

It's make one to know if he/she is behind on hours to speed up in order to finish the actual time. One can know how he spend hours for actual job and monitor one activities within the time frame given and stopping time also.

Nachteile:

So far as for me I think it's good. I think the company can improve with the new features and if they can come up with a feature whereby if it's past 12 hours the ticker to stop it self. I believe this feature will help many.

Such a breath of fresh air

Kommentare: We worked with Tick which integrated with Basecamp. I typically kept a browser window with Tick open all day and switched between tasks.

Vorteile:

Tick is so intuitive and easy to navigate between projects and days.

Nachteile:

I've worked with may timetracking systems and Tick was the best. I can't think of anything I don't like.

Time Tracking Software for Busy People

Vorteile:

I’m happy that we use Tick, which helps me track how much time I work on a task and if I’m spending useless time on things that don’t need much attention. This software made me see things in a different perspective.

Nachteile:

Although I find the software very helpful for my time tracking needs and functions, I don’t find the software user-friendly. It took time for me to get acquainted and I wish it was simpler for me to use.

Ease of display with mostly easy use.

Kommentare: I was able to have Tick going without worrying explicitly about computing the amount of time I was working. I didn't have to overthink my time recording.

Vorteile:

I liked the clean interface and the ability to check on previous dates. I felt it was easy to use with my bosses and that they were clear about my time keeping because of this app.

Nachteile:

I disliked the way the website would crash pretty often and that my phone couldn't handle having this app and my other heavy data usage app open at the same time. There was a lot of finicky changes one had to know about before using, not super intuitive.

A nice online punch card.

Vorteile:

It is basically a digital punch card that you can have with you all the time in your smartphone. The Android and iOS app are useful in this regard. It is great if your team work from home or remote and you want to keep track of their working hours and productivity. You can keep track of the hours invested in a project without much trouble which is good for your budget. Payroll with definitely benefits from it.

Nachteile:

It's price could be an issue if you have a really low budget. Everyone should be really organized to use it well and efficiently.

so easy to manage my time and then to be able to bill my clients. very effective with having different tasks to choose from, easily keeps you organized per client and per employee working on each project.

Nachteile:

having to always sign in when using the app on my iphone. wish it would log in automatically like most apps as it's just one extra step when you have a busy day at the office.

Kommentare: Over the course of the past 16 months or so that I have been using the software it has been very dependable. The feature that allows a user to pick tasks from previous jobs has been a big time saver during job set up. Tick is flexible enough to keep up with the varying needs of my large corporate as well as agency clients, each with their own unique way of keeping track of time. If you work with subcontractors, it's great being able to add and remove people on the fly without incurring additional charges. I chose this platform over others because the fees are based on the number of jobs, not the number of users. The more jobs you have in the system, the more you pay. That being said $49 a month for more than 10 jobs per month does seem a bit high. That is the same amount I pay Adobe for their entire Creative Cloud. Think about all the R&D and decades that have gone into the full suite of Adobe products. I only pay Microsoft $10 per month. But even at that price, I would still recommend it. I was on site at an agency and the creative director saw it on my computer and thought it was great.
