Extremely Useful Tool for Design Professionals

Vorteile:

The ability to catalogue and divide projects & images with tags that relate to the individual projects. It's easy to use and allows you to keep a detailed record of your work. Additionally the option of downloading images at different qualities is really nice.

Nachteile:

The UI can be a little more user-friendly and more aesthetically pleasing. It can be a little time-consuming having to tag each image individually, when I'm sure AI can help with that task.

OpenAsset, A great tool for AEC!

Kommentare: OpenAsset has been a great tool for completing my daily tasks. It has helped reduce time in finding project photos for my team's marketing collateral. The site has also become a great resource for project information.

Vorteile:

The simplicity of finding project photos and overall organization.

Nachteile:

I personally have not experienced any negative attributes of OpenAsset.

Nachteile:

Not user intuitive ( a lot of our users had difficulties with it), and a lot of the features to enhance the use came at an added cost.

Amazing and powerful system

Kommentare: The system is so easy and simple to use. I love being able to quickly search and file assets into various folders. Searchability and functionality is high. It's very easy to use and any designer can quickly implement this into their day to day use.

Vorteile:

This has been a game changer for using creative assets among various offices and multiple designers. OpenAsset is so simple to use and works seamlessly in InDesign and Illustrator. I use this every day and it makes searching for assets so easy. Cannot recommend it enough, I do not know how I have gone so long without having it my design toolbox.

Nachteile:

I do not see any downsides, it has been such a dream.

An indespensable content management tool for my team

Kommentare: It's a strong tool that just keeps getting better. I'm able to access information quickly, especially content I'm less familiar with. The ability to share with others through OA has saved me time. I look forward to getting more skilled as using the built-in tools.

Vorteile:

I love the deliverable options - you can export a collection as a PowerPoint show, PDF contact-sheet, and more, as well as create custom one-sheets with company branding. I also love the ability to drag and drop assets right into programs like InDesign and PowerPoint.

Nachteile:

Our custom search feature was hard to learn although our internal team and the OA team continue to make improvements.

Managing and storing digital assets efficiently

Kommentare: My overall experience has been great, from the implementation and training of employees to using Open Asset regularly to download and share digital assets with people within and outside of our organization.

Vorteile:

I like using Open Asset for its efficient organization and tagging capabilities, seamless file-sharing functionality, and mainly the user-friendly search options that results a more productive workflow.

Nachteile:

I don't use some of the integrations Open Asset has such as templates for Power Point but that's just a personal preference and how our team decided to operate.

Very straight forward and easy to use, I like the integration with Adobe.

Nachteile:

Search tool is a bit clunky. UX/UI could be a little better

Incredible Platform

Vorteile:

The deep searchability that is woven throughout the platform. All the content is easy to navigate and integrate into our daily work. The drag and drop feature alone is fantastic.

Nachteile:

My only wish-list item would be the ability to create multiple "project" style categories for additional organization.

Great service

Vorteile:

I love that I can have all my work files in one place on OppenAsset. It's very easy to use and easily integrates into my everyday work life. I use it every day because it fast and simple to navigate.

Nachteile:

The only real issue I have is that I have to close out my searches after every one. But even that isn't that big of a hurdle, I just have to make sure I zero out my searches every time.

Marketing Made Easy

Vorteile:

Seeing all of our projects in a visual format makes finding what you need easy. The integration into InDesign makes short work of creating proposals as well.

Nachteile:

None. The system works exactly as it was described to us.

No more searching for the right image

Kommentare: Couldn't be happier, if you are considering OA, go with the cloud version the ease of viewing images and downloading them quickly has been an incredibly helpful.

Vorteile:

Allowing user to quickly find the images they need vs spending hours digging through folders in the server.

Nachteile:

Set up did take a while but considering I was entering ten years of images it probably wasn't that bad

Easy to use and accessible from anywhere

Kommentare: This gives us an easy to use option to share with staff to easily access our digital assets.

Vorteile:

This product was easy to use and integrate into our regular routines. It is really nice to be able to access our digital assets from anywhere with internet available and not have to be on our network.

Nachteile:

I have not been able to see how/if this integrates with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator

Easy integration of our image library into design software

Vorteile:

OpenAsset has provided us with the ability to host our library of images online, reducing the amount of data stored in our drives and making it very easy to access images from anywhere in the world. The integration to powerpoint and InDesign expedite the way we design and reduce the file size of what we work on, therefore speeding up the process.

Nachteile:

OpenAsset often has small glitches. Some images might get corrupted and we have to keep a backup on our drive in case we need to upload them again. Another example is images sometimes translate to InDesign or PPT upside down or distorted but this is an easy fix we live with.

OpenAsset is a Game Changer

Kommentare: We have loved using this platform. All our digital assets are available and searchable. It is very helpful in our business.

Vorteile:

OpenAsset has helped us empower our internal staff to search and create their own marketing packages.

Nachteile:

We find it difficult to manage and audit our files regularly. We do not have the internal capacity to stay on top of it.

We had no DAM before OpenAsset

Kommentare: Though I am still spending many hours uploading and tagging my content, I can already see the time savings in searching for images. I am also empowering non-marketing people to find their own images to save me the time and effort all while controlling the quality of images. Our different regional operating groups are able to share photos easier.

Vorteile:

We had no DAM before OpenAsset. We just kept our images in our network drive folders. We are a company of 3,000+ team members and 40+ marketers spread across the country. I love that we can now search our photos like Google. We can find them faster and more efficiently. The uploading and searching process is fairly intuitive. I haven't had to explain it much to people before they start searching. Instead of finding images for people, I can just direct them to our OA portal and they can find it themselves. Frees up my time.

Nachteile:

Tagging photos is very clunky. I can't blow up the image during the upload process to see details. Though metadata from the images is transferred into OA, the keywords I have already tagged in my images prior to OA were not transferred as keywords in OA. They are in the description, so I had to re keyword everything. Though the OA techs are writing my a script to do this automatically, but it should be an included feature. I was told that OA would be integrating AI where they would suggest keywords for my images. I haven't seen it yet, but I am excited for it. Keywording is very laborious.

Best Dam Software I've seen

Kommentare: We had an archaic image database that didn't allow anyone but marketing to be able to pull down any image size but thumbnails. Now anyone in the firm can get images and be able to use them in Word, PowerPoint, or InDesign without losing resolution and turn out a great product.
In a pinch a project manager can create a PowerPoint presentation of project images without waiting for marketing to help them.

Vorteile:

The ease of the migration of our images and the great customer service was awesome. They are continually updating/upgrading the product to be more intuitive, helpful, and keep up with the technology market. For instance, AI, they've built into the product intuitive searching for similar images. Fantastic feature!

Nachteile:

A couple of the admin features takes a little longer to navigate when you have a large group of users. Have requested a couple of enhancements which they are looking at.

Love OpenAsset

Kommentare: Our staff has only good things to say about their experiences with OA. IT doesn't get very many help desk tickets

Vorteile:

There are a lot we (responses from staff) like most about this software. The features are always being added, the software is easy to use the support is A+ and it integrates with other products.

Nachteile:

The add'l cost for storage as it wasn't explained that I would have this so it wasn't budgeted.

Made for the accessibility of information

Kommentare: Providing all employees on an international basis a platform to find project info and images is essential for BDP's day to day working. Customer support has always been fast, personal and helpful.

Vorteile:

OpenAsset provides BDP with a platform for all employees to access, whether images, PDFs or project information. Easy to manage and for employees to find their way around.

Nachteile:

Not a lot of negatives to find, but if any issues arise, customer support has always been prompt and helpful.

Great tool for marketing professionals.

Kommentare: Sharing images/project experience has become much easier. The ability to tag content to enable a better search has helped tremendously.

Vorteile:

The ability to share content instantaneously across a large company is crucial to the success of our marketing team. Open Asset is the perfect solution to this challenge.

Nachteile:

I feel that the current platform is limited to only sharing images/video currently. We have the growing need to have a solution to share other marketing content (presentations, written proposal narratives, client quotes, etc.). I see the potential of the tool and have a great experience working with the Open Asset team to solve our needs.

Open Asset - Image Database Solution

Kommentare: Open Asset is great for use with filing project photos for later use in marketing materials, proposal, and precedent imagery that’s searchable

Vorteile:

With open asset you can build a database of images and file and structure it however is best for your workflow. Assigning tags to pictures lets you search through images by description which is a terrific capability for anyone working with images a lot. Saving the same image at different file sizes and resolution that can be linked to many other programs is also a huge time saver.

Nachteile:

Open asset can feel like a clunky database while searching and filing images. The amount of capabilities it has makes it more complicated to use if you’re looking for a simple photo library.

Vorteile:

OpenAsset gives anyone the ability to work with thousands of images quickly and from virtually anywhere.

Nachteile:

Asset key-wording can be tricky to get it right for future searches.

Works for me

Kommentare: I can quickly find and use photos from all of our projects and incorporate them into my indesign documents.

Vorteile:

The ability to drag and drop into InDesign.

Nachteile:

Sometimes it seems a little laggy but this may be due to our server.

Open Asset

Vorteile:

It's user friendly, intuitive, and powerful.

Nachteile:

No complaints, really. Does what it's supposed to.
