Vorteile:

Online troubleshooting is pretty easy in TIA, as we can directly download the changes to PLC.

Nachteile:

I think the software is bit slow and not smooth to opearte.

Vorteile:

Tia portal is a software where we can carry out programming projects for PLC's, motors, HMI, etc. It has tools that will help you and facilitate the programming work at your convenience, everything is done with a programmed language. If you like automation from experience, I recommend this software that will be useful to get started in this world of PLC programming.

Nachteile:

Tia portal is a very good software, which receives constant updates, so it does not pose any inconvenience when programming. As a recommendation, it is better to install the software on a high-end PC for a better experience.

Complex, difererent metodologies in the same platform. Just a sand box.

Tia portal, for PLC programming

Kommentare: I used it to make programs, fortunately they were not made with many variables, because, taking into account all the types of variables, which may or may not accept different types of programming blocks, is a headache. But of course, that's what the job is all about. My favorite part is undoubtedly the customization of the HMI screen, which together with its simulation, is very helpful to verify the operation of the program, and in addition, the automation process can be performed in a very visual way.

Vorteile:

It contains, for programming, all Siemens PLCs, and also includes other components related to automatic control such as HMI screens. Where its simulation spaces are very practical, both to see how the program works and to visualize how the screen works.

Nachteile:

Its programming is different from other systems, such as LOGO! Since its programming is in ladder. What can lead to be difficult to use if you did not know that language. Another factor to take into account when programming in this software are all the different types of variables it has. So you must have a high knowledge of computer science.

tia is the best

Kommentare: i am an industrial automation engineer and i started to use it six years ago at first i used it in simple application like (operation of pumps or make a communication with drives)and then i used it in complex projects like operation of slurry pump 750kw

i think one of the most helpful things in tia is that to make a troubleshooting i think day by day not only the engineer can do it but also the forman

Nachteile:

sure the thing i like least at tia is the time of opening the program, it take more than two minutes to open i think this is not only for a small ram memory but the program mayby tamke more time to open

As the name specifies "Totally integrated Automation", TIA portal throughout the journey to V15 and beyond has actually realized the concept envisioned for its creation and even if you are a beginner or a seasoned professional, TIA Portal is all you need to open in your computer whole day, many workdays . While some might say is not as user friendly as some other software, people using TIA portal will differ, because of substantial improvement in every version. There's announcement from Siemens for Cause and effect matrix 's direct input option, which will be a game changer and will reduce the programming time significantly.

Nachteile:

Bulkiness, toll it takes on the hardware, but then of course for running a industry grade software suite you need good hardware.

Complete package with HMI and PLC as well as technology objects are integrated as if it is one system. Also the multi-user server gives big advantages; as team we can work easily on one project simultaneously.

The software freezes ones in a month. That can result in a loss of a few hours work...

Vorteile:

A great feature is the ability to customize the GUI to suit your needs. The application has great support and help documentation integrated.

Nachteile:

The number of advanced features (most of which will never be used) is large and makes navigating the interface a chore sometimes. Also, the application has its share of bugs and it crashes more often than I would expect.

It is an integrated system of low cost and high performance, this allows the design of the communication of all the equipment from a single platform, easy learning.

Nachteile:

It is an integrated software and then saves all the design in a single file, this software requires computers with high performance, the help option is not very clear for the user

Kommentare: Me encanta trabajar con tía portal y me parece que es un referente que hace que a la hora de elegir un autómata me decante por Siemens.

Vorteile:

Me encanta que se integre en el mismo proyecto la parte de programación con la parte de HMI y no tener varios softwares para programa y para diseño de pantallas como con step 7 y wincc que estaba separado.Tiene funcionalidades de programación muy potentes que puedes utilizar ahorrandote mucho tiempo ( por ejemplo implementación de PID

Nachteile:

Lo que menos me gusta es que dependiendo de versiones no es muy estable y se puede colgar el programa cerrándose. Por otra parte requiere de mucho RAM del equipo y necesitas un equipo algo potente para trabajar agusto con este software.

TIA Portal is the gateway to Controls and Automation

Kommentare: I have found no matter how complex the situation or challenge that TIA Portal has a way of being able to create a controls solution. It is the Control Engineers Swiss Army Knife.

Vorteile:

Every version continues to amaze me as it builds on the greatness from the previous one. It holds true compatibility through the versions and can easily update to the latest version. It integrates visualisation easily. The safety coding is straightforward and offers great options of commissioning including a safety override commissioning mode from version 17. The software is like a Swiss army knife, if you want the function it is there and powerful yet easy to use.

Nachteile:

The only downside of TIA Portal is that it would be great if it were easier to convert projects from S7 classic easier, but hey I guess you can't expect it to do everything for me.

Kommentare: En general es un software mucho más interactivo y fácil de utilizar que Step7 o WinCC. También es más cómodo al necesitar únicamente un solo programa para realizar todas las tareas necesarias de puesta en marcha y programación.

Vorteile:

Gran facilidad para la programación, configuración hardware de fácil interpretación, diagnostico de defectos extenso y de gran ayuda. Todo lo necesario para la programación de una instalación integrado en un solo programa (programación PLC, IHM, Variadores, elementos varios de Siemens tales como Rfids). Es válido para los autómatas S1200 y S1500.

Nachteile:

Está hecho para comprar la maleta de programación de Siemens. Consume demasiados recursos en un PC estándar. Demasiadas versiones y actualizaciones para tener un versión "maestra".

Programación de PLC total

Vorteile:

Tia portal tiene todas las necesidades para poder programar todos los PLC actuales. Interface muy claro y fácil de editar e interpretar incluso para nivel usuario. Programar automatismos completos ya necesitas de un nivel importante. Lo bueno de Siemens es que tienes todo lo necesario para tener un solo proyecto con todo integrado ( motores, tarjetas, plc, cables, módulos de seguridad...)

Nachteile:

Los cambios constantes de versión, las licencias incompatibles, etc...antes con STEP 7 era más sencillo.

TIA Portal - A lot of features in one software

Kommentare: TIA PORTAL got so many good feature. It is used for different PLCs like S7-1200, S-400, S7-300, S7-1500 and ET200SP. Also for many HMI - KT200, KTP-600, and TPComfort Panel.
Once I found an issue with the warm start option in S7-1200 and was so frustrated. Once the PLC get restart it goes to stop mode automatically. I had to go to the site, hook with my laptop and had to change the PLC from STOP MODE to RUN MODE. Technically it’s the PLC drawback. But if could had some address so that we can make to RUN MODE through HMI. If S7-1200 had a Switch of Run stop mode selection it would have been easier. Overall TIA Portal can be considered as the best PLC SOFTWARE so far.

Vorteile:

With TIA Portal one can make the PLC programming as well as HMI development, where as all other software got only one option, either PLC programming or HMI development. Also with so good options from Technology object to HSC - High Speed counter in S7-1200. The easy solution for RS 485 communication with CM - communication Module and CB Communication Board it makes the RS485 and RS232 communication configurations so well and easy. The communication between two PLC made so easy with GET -PUT blocks. These are just few option that I have used so far and yet to go.

Nachteile:

The program development and HMI development seems a little complicated initially. But once you get to know about it then it is really so user friendly.

Revisión de Tia Portal Simple

Kommentare: No hay un solo día en mi trabajo que no use tia portal, es un software en donde la elaboración de programas tiene un buen rendimiento de tiempo y esfuerzo, por todas las ayudas que proporciona y la fiabilidad a la hora de programar un plc,hmi, driver etc.
Y unas de mejores características con las que cuenta es que se encuentra todo centralizado en un solo software, lo cual ahorra mucho tiempo y esfuerzo a la hora de elaborar proyectos con alto numero de componentes y complejidad.

Vorteile:

1. Insertar variables en HMI solo arrastrándolas a la pantalla. 2. Conjunción de todos los equipos siemens en un solo software. 3. Fácil e intuitivo en la forma de programar y organizar el programa. 4. Copiar y pegar funciones un proyecto a otro. 5. Facilidad para elaborar librerías. 6. Su fácil manejo para agregar archivos GSD de otros fabricantes para usarlos en junto los componentes siemens. 7. Su menú de ayuda es muy explicativo acerca de las funciones que tiene el programa y las funciones de los PLC,Hmi,Driver,etc.

Nachteile:

1. Poca compatibilidad con proyecto de TIA PORTAL 13, hacia adelante. 2. Es imposible extraer el programa de un HMI de cualquier versión. 3. El cruce de variables en algunos casos (bit de unas variables puede ser utilizado por otro sin darse cuenta, lo cual conlleva un problema en la elaboración de un programa). 4. Los recursos que necesita en un pc para funcionar adecuadamente.

No choice but still brilliant!

Vorteile:

Very good software. Since the Multiuser environment is released, we can simultaneaously as a team in one project. Of course we don't have choice in the software, because the selected hardware forces us to use Tia Portal, but we're happy.

Nachteile:

In very rare cases the software crashes.. lets say monthly. And thats still frustrating :)

One of the best IDE to program Siemens PLC and HMI

Vorteile:

I love how you can edit the graphic. It is a complete suite and it is very intuitive. It is completely different from Siemens previous tools.

Nachteile:

In some occasion, it can be difficult to use the suite if you don't have an informatic background. Sometimes it crashes.

Best Automation tool as all in one

Vorteile:

Its user interface and ease of use is outstanding, multiple functional blocks are ready to use, great in context

Nachteile:

Help should be in detail, everytime while programming need to move to siemens portal, which is not handy

Vorteile:

Amazing environment, so easy to use. The interfaces are clear and the help is usefull. Lot of grapichals possibilities. Good for sale machines because so knwoledge.

Nachteile:

Sometimes it's crash and install the version are so long and complex. Not a good thing that the help desk is not for free but need to pay. Some bugs founded with new version.

Great for programming Siemens PLC and HMI

Kommentare: Siemens PLC's are the preferred type in our factories. We use them in most of our production machines. They vary from about 64 IO to approximately 2000 IO.

Vorteile:

Programming of PLC's and HMI-panels are combined in one software package. Tags made in PLC are reusable in HMI. Good simulation function of HMI panel. Of connected to a live PLC, the HMI simulation in the software shows the live status. (and you can interact with the live PLC) Hardware configuration works fine. Hardware is widely available.

Nachteile:

Older PLC's (and PLC's with older hardware modules) cannot directly be programmed with TIA Portal, so for older machines you still need Step7. Or you have to replace all older modules, which can be quite expensive.

One software to rule them all

Kommentare: TIA Portal is a powerful tool for automation engineers. After you get used to crashes and saving your project each time you change something it's quite fun to use.

Vorteile:

Everything you need to create software for Siemens based industrial automation solutions is included here. PLC programming? - Of course. HMI desing? - Here you go. It has some handy options like creating project without need to select exact PLC model. In addition it comes with good looking interface which is not so obvious with industrial automation software.

Nachteile:

Variety of possibilities may confuse new users. It tooks some time and practice before you'll get used to all of that. With great power comes great responsibility. Unfortunately TIA Portal is not always prepared for that, number of unexpected crashes is far too high. System requirements are also quite high.
