Vorteile:
A vey smart and easy to use toolset. Very flexible and the Datprof helpdesk is always willing to help if you run into any problems. They even take suggestions on improvements for later versions
Nachteile:
Masking rules that have to repeat a lot throughout the database are not set to be copied. So it takes some repeat work. Which is usually easy to do.

Alternatief voor synthetische data (generatie)?
Kommentare: De grote valkuil vind ik dat je relatief snel met Datprof aan de slag kunt: makkelijk te installeren, gebruikersvriendelijk en zelfverklarende desktop. Het is echter wel van belang om vooraf een goed functioneel ontwerp te maken en degelijke kennis te hebben van het datamodel.
Vorteile:
De software is te gebruiken op een groot aantal applicaties en platforms. Data opgeslagen in bijvoorbeeld Oracle, SQLserver, DB2 of Postgress is op eenduidige wijze te depersonaliseren. Ketenconsistentie kan worden gerealiseerd door gebruik te maken van vertaaltabellen en deze tijdelijke in een afgesloten repository db op te slaan. Naast deze mogelijkheid zijn er diverse functies beschikbaar waardoor het lijkt alsof je met sysnthetische data test en de structuur van de data 100% gelijk is aan de productie omgeving.
Nachteile:
Is niet echt een nadeel, maar met name in een Oracle db valt er veel te tunen waardoor fantastische performance gerealiseerd kan worden. Hiervoor is wel 'diepte' kennis van Oracle vereist. Datprof biedt hiervoor de nodige mogelijkheden.

Nachteile:
It's a relatively small software company, which results in choices that have to be made regarding development of the tool set.
