Feature rich and easy-to-customize eCommerce platform

Kommentare: Undoubtedly, SAP Commerce is the leader in eCommerce platforms. SAP has been doing a great investment in keeping this platform ahead of its competitors by bringing a lot of innovation required to meet the demands of fast-changing information technology and shopping trends of customers.

Vorteile:

1. In terms of features, it is ahead of all of its competitors 2. It comes with accelerators (pre-built storefronts) that are almost production-ready which accelerates TTM (Time To Market). 3. It comes bundled with integration templates for many SAP products e.g. ERP, Marketing, CPQ, C4C etc. 4. This is built with open source technologies (e.g. Spring, Tomcat etc.) and therefore it is easy to find resources with relevant experience. 5. The documentation is rich, and from time to time, the engineering/marketing teams organize webinars, release feature videos, publish blogs etc.

Nachteile:

Earlier they used to have a dedicated Q/A (Question/Answer) website called, experts.hybris.com and it was extremely popular among Hybris (SAP Commerce) developers. The contributions from experts were so strong that for most of the questions, developers used to get a solution within an hour. However, probably as part of the cost-cutting process, SAP migrated it to answers.sap.com which is not dedicated to Hybris (SAP Commerce) and also not as attractive as experts.hybris.com. Most of the experts stopped contributing immediately and some stopped doing so after a few weeks. Ever since this migration, Hybris (SAP Commerce) developers have been struggling for solutions. A simple proof is that more than 70% of Hybris (SAP Commerce) questions on answers.sap.com are unanswered for over a year. As a result, many developers have been switching to other platforms since this migration. SAP must be spending 10 times more money on the marketing of SAP Commerce than the amount of money needed to support the dedicated platform but it seems SAP will realize this when it will be already too late to repair the damage.

Be it state of the art responsive storefronts provided by accelerators or headless commerce capabilities provided via open source Sparatcus, SAP Commerce provides endless opportunites when it comes to designing superior customer experiences which are future proof. New features are constantly released which allows customers to stay relevant and up to date in this ever changing digital commerce landscape.

SAP Commerce Cloud solution is a market leader in Gartner magic quadrant for digital commerce and provides a superior omnichannel experience for its customers via its comprehensive suite of feature and functionality set. SAP Commerce Cloud helps customers in their digital transformation journey by providing state of the art user buying experience reducing time to market and total cost of ownership. Commerce cloud provides advanced industry specific B2B , B2C and B2B2C functionalities Out of the Box and comes with a stanard set of modules and extensions encompassing a very wide suite of features which allows customers to launch customer ready storefronts within no time. Commerce cloud is deployed on public cloud (azure) and the infrastructure maintenance is abstracted from the customers allowing them to focus on their business processes. The solution has in-built integrations to SAP ERP (ECC and S/4 HANA) via SAP Commerce Cloud Integration platform which provides OOTB integration flows(i-flows) to easily replicate master data and transactional data (Outbound and inbound). SAP Commerce is truly cloud native and via OCC APIs and Cloud platform extension factory provides a superior framework to extend the cloud solution by seamlessly integrating to 3rd party systems. SAP Commerce comes standard with OOTB accelerators which provides a fully functional templated user storefronts ready to be deployed and configured as per customer needs via Smartedit solution.

Nachteile:

Currently SAP Commerce Cloud can be deployed only on Microsoft Azure Cloud, though the plan is to roll out to other cloud providers soon. Synchronous order management is not supported with Cloud version.
