Bewertungen über Redmine
Gute Opensource Lösung - aber nicht ohne Einschränkung zu verwenden
Kommentare: Gutes Tool als kleine und günstige Lösung.
Vorteile:
Vielfältige Möglichkeiten in der Nutzung und Konfiguration
Nachteile:
„Nur“ über die Community mit Support abgedeckt. Kauflösungen sind aber vorhanden.
In Betracht gezogene Alternativen:
Versatility = Redmine as Bug Tracker/Project Manager
Kommentare: Redmine is my de-facto BTS every company I go. I am very happy with its stability, versatility and easy to use for the end user.
Vorteile:
Redmine is a powerful Bug tracker system with such a flexibility that you can use it as your CMS if you want. There is a ton of plugins to install. You can use Redmine as a CRM, ERP, Payroll, etc... as long as the community around it can imagine a use case, it will exist. There are some paid services which customize Redmine to run as a full ERP, but I have no experience with them.
Nachteile:
The installation process can be a pain for novices: You have to prepare your VM installing Ruby, then Ruby Gems and others gems to make advances functions to work. The source control system interface is good, but hard to install and configure. You will have better luck if you download a Bitnami VM or an AWS Appliance Image. There is a Docker image as wall, but I have no experience with it.
It's good but old
Kommentare: Some years ago, maybe this software was great, not it's a bit old and hard to use compared to the compoetence
Vorteile:
You can manage a lot of projets It's GNU/GPL (open source) Capacity to track versions A lot of customizations for all tickets
Nachteile:
Nowadays the design is a bit obsolete A bit slow on big projects Hard to manage tickets (filter is old school components)
Full customizable but not great
Vorteile:
One of the things I like the most about Redmine is the customization it has. If you have an on-premise service you could just create your own theme for the company, create your own "ticket" categories and so on. It's very flexible in that way so if you manage it correctly and have a great maintenance probably it's worth for a few bucks.
Nachteile:
It's horrible at issue management, even tho you can customize the UX it's not intuitive, it has a big community but not that big compared with their competitors and most of the plugins are hard to implement or incomplete since are obsolete. Also if you choose the on-premise solution like I said you will have to make a monthly maintenance or in large companies it does not escalate properly and you will have to improve your servers expending more money or even extracting the database to another external service.

Flexible Project Management
Kommentare: We're customized Redmine to support several aspects of our IT business. Its made it easy to departmentalize things such as Change Requests, Active Directory Request and General Ticket. We've even integrated it into a Self Serve IT tool we recently launched. Its branched several moved pieces together.
Vorteile:
Redmine supports countless user created plugins. This provides a lot of potential for how Redmine can be used. In our case, we customized Redmine to function as an inexpensive IT Change Management / Ticketing Tool.
Nachteile:
Slight learning curve at first. But Redmine has a lot of forums available, so any challenge you face or feature you may struggle with surely has a forum post about it. I always found the solution to my problem before long.
In Betracht gezogene Alternativen:
Use Redmine for yours daily tasks
Kommentare: We use Redmine to record everyday task tasks. We would like more resources for project management and agile methodologies. This is generally a good tool, but it depends on your goals.
Vorteile:
Redmine is a great tool for daily tasks. It is opensource and has several plugins that offer more features. Its API allows for easy integration with other software.
Nachteile:
Project management features are lacking. It is very confusing and the presentation is not good. You need reports too, although new ones can be created using the API. Features for agile methodologies are very important. There is a plugin, but it does not offer a good backlog presentation.
Redmine Software Review
Kommentare: Fun and smooth, having that feeling of sentiment not overshadowing it's overall usability.
Vorteile:
What I love best about Redmine is the ease of using it, nothing feels too complicated. It's also free!
Nachteile:
I would say that UI looks as if very outdated, it has a look of the early 2000s. However, others may argue that this is stylish, and there is some merit to this, I'd agree.
Free software for managing projects, tasks and more
Kommentare: From my experience, it is good for experimenting and getting into the world of management. It is also a great collaborator, however in order not to incur delays it is better that a developer is in charge of its maintenance.
Vorteile:
The most favorable thing is that it is open source, that is to say, it is free. It also has an error tracking function, something that is common to appear in free software that does not have technical support.
Nachteile:
The disadvantage is the support that the platform has, being open source it depends on other users who have had the same problems and know how to develop their solution. In case it generates delays and loss of money to obtain the solution.
Clean and organized tool for project planning
Vorteile:
The layout and navigation within Redmine is super easy to pickup and learn. Lots of little feature capabilities that are handy when managing development/it tasks.
Nachteile:
Some little quirks around uploading images and files I ran into, but easily worked around that by just changing the way I would add them. Most likely just an end user error rather than software error.
A cheap option for time tracking management
Vorteile:
The pricing is really good and the integration with attendance devices is really smooth.
Nachteile:
The user interface is very classic, it could be improved. More project management options to be added.
Even if you use another tool, you have Redmine to thank
Kommentare: Our marketing teams felt overwhelmed by the complexity if Jira. We just couldn't make it work. Redmine, however, with a set of agile plugins, allowed us to have a true kanban board and implement really robust scrum workflows using Redmine. It was a tremendous experience and really helps us tackle our weekly tasks.
Vorteile:
Being an open source project, Redmine has driven out the excess costs from project management and issue tracking software. Almost every other enterprise software project has to keep in mind that their customers can always choose a free and highly customizable read mine installation as an alternative, so Redmine makes the entire ecosystem more robust. What I really like the most is the low overhead for the server so that you can run a very large installation for hundreds or thousands of users on a low cost EC2 instance with extremely good performance. Checkout AWS LightSail if you want AWS specifically. If you're on a tight budget and want something implemented quickly, Redmine is the way to go. There are even hosted solutions out there like Plan.io that take away all the technical requirements for you.
Nachteile:
Out of the box, you will need to get a better skin and probably customize a lot of the UI to make it look more visually appealing. The overall design a Redmine feels a little dated now, so you will need to download other themes or probably purchase a paid one to make it feel more modern and usable.
In Betracht gezogene Alternativen:
Best freely available project management tool
Vorteile:
The advantage of Redmine is that it is freely available and can be freely extended by developing your own plugins.
Nachteile:
Due to the openness of redmine and the possibility of extending it with plugins, it can sometimes take a long time after an update for all plugins, whether purchased or self-developed, to be adapted for the corresponding version.
Good for use
Vorteile:
The charts that create automatically by themselves are great.
Nachteile:
Can have better GUI for easy to use tool.
Redmine Review
Kommentare: It’s been great. Especially if it’s issue tracking you’re looking for, Redmine is the best software I’ve used so far
Vorteile:
It’s straight forward and doesn’t deviate from its functionality. After setting it up you’ll get used to it easily. Each functionality there is necessary and easy to use as well
Nachteile:
The user interface is a bit bland. A bit of customization needs to be made so it’s looks a bit lively.
Alternative for JIRA
Kommentare:
I was working with Redmine for about a year and a half and I have to admit - it wasn't as good as I would have liked. One of its biggest advantages is the low price of the app (compared to market alternatives). Customer service was good and helpful - each time I had a problem, someone resolved it quite quickly. Also, Redmine has a huge number of features and plugins that can be added and used with it but...
A lot of these plugins are outdated or abandoned. I had a couple of problems with them (usually didn't want to work as expected). Because of that, integration with external apps may be problematic, especially if a user chooses some less-known software. To tell the truth, the number of plug-ins does not come close to the number of plug-ins created for apps of its biggest market competitors. The community gathered around Redmine is not so big compared to other existing management solutions. And the last thing and in my opinion the biggest disadvantage of Redmine - the design. The app feels outdated and clumsy. A lot of elements are not visible or they are blending with nearby elements. It is easy to mistake one project for another, especially if they are named similarly.
To sum up, it is a good solution if you have a rather small company with a small number of projects and don't want to pay much for a Project Management tool. If not, I would choose any of the competitors.
Vorteile:
A number of features. Low price. Customer service.
Nachteile:
Design, design, and one more time design. Average mechanics of the app. Integration with other IT apps. Relatively small community
Good open source ticketing software
Kommentare: A useful ticketing system as well as a time tracking system for free, as it is open source.
Vorteile:
I used this software in two companies that had it customized to their needs. So the possibility to customize features to fit the company workflow seems to be properly working. We used the time tracking feature to know which part of a project was taking more time than planned. The ticket's features are very useful for teamwork as you can see who worked on what task and when. You can also easily add documents attached to the task, and even write some Wiki for projects that may need it.
Nachteile:
Redmine can be quite complicated to use, for one not used to software like this. For example we used to open parts of the software for clients when we were doing fine tuning on applications and websites, and often the client needed a small training to be able to create ticket and answer questions on the ticket.
Redmine - Mine full of possibilities
Kommentare: My experience with Redmine has been a mixed bag. It is free, so it was a good start to using a fully fledged project management tool and get used to the process. It had adequate tracking features and after a bit of time, our team got used to it. But its archaic UI, confusing UX and a headache during deployment and frequent downtimes can seriously impede your project management process. So, it was a strictly OK experience for me with some pain points that were too impactful to ignore, so we had to make a switch to a better, a paid option.
Vorteile:
Redmine is a project tracking tool with good intentions. I like that it is free, open source and comes with comparable features to its paid counterparts. I love its Git integrations, flexible time tracking options and multiple databases support, even though it may take a bit of tinkering the first time around. But most of all, it is free and that is its biggest plus point. Anyone, with some configuration can get started with it.
Nachteile:
Where do I start? Redmine is free, so we have to keep that in mind too as it allows you to dip your toes into the waters of project management tools. I really dislike the UI and UX. Granted, you have some themes but that doesn't help its case. The UI looks aged and the UX is somewhat terrible. Our team took a lot of time to grasp it and use it properly. And even then, we were making a lots of mistakes and couldn't find the data we wanted quickly. Redmine does have lots of features but most of them are half-baked. And also, according to the deployment team, the deployment was a headache. And we also got frequent downtime too. We were always getting 5xx errors and that seriously hampered our ability to track projects effectively.
It's competency in ticket tracking is superb
Kommentare: You do not have to be a tech savvy in order to use this application, just let your IT admin to set it up in your computer, then it's all good. All you have to know is what kind of ticket you are going to create and what are its details.
Vorteile:
1. Easy to customize, you can create and select different trackers for your ticket 2. Custom fields allows you to display what are the necessary inputs needed for your ticket. 3. Able to create your own template 4. Create your filter that can be visible to others if you want to. 5. Easy viewing of the ticket status through Roadmap, Agile, or Backlogs (from old version) and etc.,
Nachteile:
I don't have any cons about using Redmine, it reached my satisfaction. It sends you mail for every changes in the ticket, and that makes me on track.
Redmine - Flexible Open Source Project management software
Kommentare: We use Redmine to track support issues for our developers. We can see who is working on what issues and how far along they are. We can re-assign issues to different teams. It works well with not too many problems.
Vorteile:
Redmine keeps track of multiple task and projects. You can track issues, email issues into specific projects, track team members activity for solving the tasks or issues. There are templates that make it easy track progress of common issues/task. Overall it take a small learning curve but is a very powerful project tracking and management software.
Nachteile:
It takes awhile to learn all of the features and customization.
A very beneficial tool in project management
Vorteile:
The tool organizes the projects very well (you can administer more than one without problems), you can track incidents and errors separately. I love personalization in the distribution and categorization of the stages of the projects. it is entirely useful to cross-reference tickets (which are related). this prevents the creation of orphan tickets since you have an absolute control of the resolution of tickets
Nachteile:
It is well designed for the management of small to medium-sized projects .. with large projects it is complicated because it allows to make so many changes in the structure of the project that it is counterproductive, at first the interface seems easy but when using it and having so many functions that it would be necessary A previous training for the use, it becomes very expensive when you upgrade to the premium versions of the tool. The Ruby on Rails pre-configuration requires technical experience, this is an additional cost. The administrative interface is not as effective and does not offer as much functionality as the rest of the tool. the distribution and loading of errors and incidents must be well defined, it can be a problem if the team does not understand well when it comes to "closed / result" or "Open / solving" ... it is not a 100% tool intuitive
Good tool but needs a refresh
Kommentare: Good option for keeping teams organized around the work and more budget friendly than JIRA.
Vorteile:
Simplicity is Redmine's strength by far. It's got a no-frills interface and everything is fairly straightforward and easy to navigate.
Nachteile:
It's a little feature-lacking compared to some of the other platforms that do the same thing. I definitely find myself frustrated by the search feature for instance.
Powerful issue tracking tool
Kommentare: Keeping track of work flow with multiple customers and multiple people working.
Vorteile:
Flexible enough for custom work flows etc. Powerful enough to properly track issue status. Was meant for managing software bugs and features, but can be used for multiple applications.
Nachteile:
Some things are difficult to do. There are custom addons that can sometimes help with that.
Redmine has all the features needed in order to keep an agile project running.
Kommentare: It's was a great tool that support the basics for the agile team, for beign a free version it has all the basic features required.
Vorteile:
Redmine is a really easy tool to use, very intuitive. It's a free tool, easy to install and run. Supports roles and permission configuration for the users. Tickets created can store description and attached files. Tickets can be easylly found.
Nachteile:
The scrum board is not part of the redmine core, must use a third party plugin in order to support the scrum columns.
Redmine is used for both project management & bug tracking.
Kommentare: Maintaining the sub projects under main projects we are able to track our bugs separately without mixing up.
Vorteile:
1. It's free & open source. 2. Can create multiple main projects & subprojects. 3. Can track the changes & authors of the changes. 4. Manage project versions. 5. Easy to use & understand the system.
Nachteile:
1. The UI of the system is a bit of outdated. 2. Search panel can be a little bit confused for fresh users.
Used the Redmine for issues tracking within the company
Kommentare: My overall experience with Redmine is good.
Vorteile:
To add the users as the watchers is the feature I like most.
Nachteile:
Custom listing needs a lot of improvements.
