An amazing enterprise platform for Kafka!

Vorteile:

Confluent Platform wraps Apache Kafka in a platform that is enterprise friendly, since it provides tools that make life with Kafka a little better - like KSQLDB for streaming and modifying data, Schema Registry, and others

Nachteile:

The deployment on K8s was not easy to do, I didn't find a clear K8s deployment guide. Same goes for OpenShift.

Rich set of tools

Vorteile:

For my work, it was reliable for data ingestion and processing. And it has a lot of tools and APIs for developing and testing.

Nachteile:

It requires a little bit of experience and knowledge to manage the platform.

What free trial? Confluent rip off

Kommentare: Confluent is easy to onboard. During the free trial we soon realised it wasnt suitable for us so we moved to self-hosted kafka. We tried to close the Confluent account. There is no simple way to do this in Confluent. We couldnt remove the payment details which you have to enter when signing up for the free trial. There is no easy way to contact support from within the GUI. Then today out of nowhere we get a bill for over $1000. I emailed Confluent's Global Technical Support who replied promptly that they would issue a refund but it would take several days. Still no mention of removing the payment details and closing the account.

Vorteile:

Easy to deploy. some functionality. pretty gui

Nachteile:

No way to remove your payment details or close your account from within the GUI. No warning after 'free trial' that the account is still active. no way to export invoices. lacking integrations and key features.

Great for Storing Learning Materials

Vorteile:

The features that have really helped me and my teams are the ability to create pages dedicated to best practices and learnings. We've created multiple pages across our org which have given us a nicely curated repository of information and marketing collateral.

Nachteile:

The navigation and searching leaves a lot to be desired. Thats the only thing keeping me from giving the software a perfect score.

Kommentare: i use it for processing multiple streams.

Vorteile:

Apache Kafka support. it has Ksqldb that add topic join ability to it.

Nachteile:

Confluent-Platform is not free. its Apache Kafka version is backward than current release of Apache Kafka

Clinical used software

Kommentare: Great experience. Awesome and helpful staff in figuring out solutions to the company’s needs

Vorteile:

- Easy to use - Fast loading & no buffering - Extremely helpful staff with problem management

Nachteile:

- Wish it had the ability to use fingerprint login - Wish it had a reminder with gps locator to remind one to log out/in when arrived at location

Easy to search for items

Kommentare: Overall, this is a one-stop shop for our team to organize all vital info. I've learned that having a spot for collaborative team sharing and real time update of info is important for a scale up whose process is constantly changing.

Vorteile:

I love that this is a collaborative platform that we use for our team process documentation It is our go to spot for all process I love that it allows for folders so we can organize all information

Nachteile:

It is not the easiest to use, to post and publish - so if you want to write something plan ahead and block out time.
