Kommentare: I've researched Buildbook since they started out with a different company.With the company that I've been with for the last 2+ years we worked with 4-5 different types of software which was cumbersome and not efficient. not to mention having no access to a specific software if they had a bug. With Buildbook we have everything we need within reach in the office or on location.The chat feature to be able to talk with the team as well as with the clients and to document things is a nice huge feature.

Vorteile:

Ease of use, visibility and accessibility for non-tech workers.Software encompasses almost everything needed for our daily operations, it eliminated using 4-5 different types of software.

Nachteile:

We wish there were more (enhanced) CRM type of features

Vorteile:

The price and value for money is the best I've seen. The user experience is clean, simple and easy to navigate.

Nachteile:

There are a lot of features lacking and some feel like very obvious oversights such as not being able to see profit margin % from a project's financials.

Kommentare: Good. The people seem great. I do believe they will work the issues and help to create product that is in tune with the current market needs.

Vorteile:

When I first looked into it I was happy to have a product that was easy for tracking leads and providing a project tool for our employees

Nachteile:

The inability to turn a won lead into a project. It’s redundant to have to take the notes from the lead and redo them once a project is won.

Intuitive Software That We Have Been Needing

Kommentare: Overall very positive experience. Very friendly, responsive, and knowledgeable staff. We have really enjoyed switching to BuildBook.

Vorteile:

Easy to learn and use. Free onboarding sessions with handy reviewable transcripts. Estimate templates, easily use past jobs as a template for new ones, partial access for subs, cost book, and contact lists.

Nachteile:

It has some areas that are not customizable e.g. the categories to list potential projects under. We can work within it well enough but it would be nice to change the titles to fit our company's jargon.

Kommentare: Great! The communication from customer service is phenomenal and I am extremely happy with choosing this service

Vorteile:

It's easy to use and not overcomplicated like other apps. Great for smaller companies that do a lot of the work themselves and don't need those overpriced and complicated systems.

Nachteile:

They only thing I've found to "not like" is that is doesn't calculate the days lost from the initial construction schedule but it's easy enough to figure out how to calculate that on your own.

It's easy to use if you're new to using construction software and don't want to spend a lot of money on an alternative like Buildertrend.

It's newer so there are still some features that I'd like to be included like Quickbooks integration.

Great Market Fit, But Need to Counter-Balance Cost-Plus Construction

Kommentare: I enjoy it as a tool for promoting a greater customer experience. I don't know how much I would say that it helps me run my construction business at this point.

Vorteile:

The market distinctive for my business is this software and my design process. This program achieves my goal of promoting high-level visibility between me and the client while allowing me to have a project management system that is efficient and clean.

Nachteile:

As mentioned before, the product feels like it's been built so heavily around the customer experience that it's weak on the project execution features. More specifically the financial management and scheduling side of the project. In regards to the former, the financial management system is almost entirely communicative. But it doesn't actually serve me in any significant ways of managing my financials. The scheduling system is clunky. I don't know if this is a feature but I hope that you guys will allow for a microsoft project integration as I will have to explore other products to schedule construction as Buildbook's system takes way too long.

Kommentare: So far it seems to work for what we needed, as far as keeping track of our jobs. Being in Construction, we have to work on the material divisions more...from our end.

Vorteile:

it is very easy to work with so far, like being able to upload pictures and documents

Nachteile:

There isn't a way to enter a return material receipts. It would also be nice to have a separation between receipts and subcontractor payments

The software allows you to create and manage projects, track tasks, and assign responsibilities to team members effortlessly. With its interactive Gantt chart and milestone tracking, you can visualize project timelines, monitor progress, and stay on top of deadlines which we love here at our design/build firm.

Nachteile:

While BuildBook offers a good degree of customization in terms of project management and dashboard settings, some users may desire more flexibility in tailoring the software to their specific needs. Depending on your preferences and requirements, you may find certain customization options to be limited for businesses that offer more than construction services.

I love how intuitive the Program is. I also enjoy the interaction with clients and how we can easily communicate with the clients.

I would like the organization to be a little better. Maybe you could add a filter that could sort the catagories in alphabetical order.

Complete Construction Management Software

Kommentare: We are able to communicate with our clients who are offsite much more clearly as a team. It's really improved our overall client-contractor relationship.

Vorteile:

I love how easy it is to integrate our current utilization of dropbox with Buildbook. As a team, we love being able to track our jobs together, and share our daily progress with each other. The best part of Buildbook though is their incredibly helpful their customer service. They walk through any and every issue and address it promptly and they are always there to help!

Nachteile:

The only challenging component we have found with this software is utilizing older phones. However, this is not unique to only this software, as it is a challenge for every developer.

Helped us level up our game!

Kommentare: Overall, this has been an amazing new integration for our business and has helped us level up our offering. We feel that clients have really valued having a platform that helps them feel closely connected to their renovation/build project at every step of the way whether they are living in their home or not. Clients have appreciated our regular communication using the tool as it keeps info all in one place. Our team feels more connected on projects and we are finding a new groove and it feels great!

Vorteile:

The platform is very user friendly and our clients found it easy to navigate. We like the Chat features, File and Document sharing capabilities, Scheduling tool and the Budget and Selections sections to help us keep our process in check and moving towards project milestones. It's been a game changer for us as a whole!

Nachteile:

We would love to see more reporting features, exporting estimates and selections into a nice PDF for clients to review. Some of our clients are hands on and still like paper copies or the ability to receive paper copies that are tangible. Would also love to see a more robust way to obtain client approvals on selections. Larger images for attachments and a few quirks with the mobile app can be flushed out too.

Great tool for our growing small business!

Kommentare: The overall experience with BuildBook has been great. The sales process was low pressure and informative. Onboarding was a breeze and the staff was so helpful and patient helping us apply and configure the software to best suit our individual business needs. Customer service has been amazing. Super fast responsive times and helpful feedback. All in all while there's always feature enhancements that we'd love to see, BuildBook has been a great addition to our team!

Vorteile:

The ability to quickly establish a project schedule, assign task owners, store project documentation and efficiently communicate as a team has presented a tremendous improvement to our operation.

Nachteile:

The scheduling feature could definitely be improved by the ability to set durations along with the ability to link tasks across phases. The budget feature isn't quite as robust as we'd like to use it for so an integration with google sheets would be great. Within the selections feature, the ability to rename an existing room would save a lot of time in transposing a project from a template to a new build.

My BuildBook use and decision to purchase a BuildBook subscription

Kommentare: Me personally I have not yet as I'm in my construction twilight years, hanging on hanging out, holding on. Yet I can see how valuable BuildBook is and I wish to support BuildBook and maybe get to more fully utilize soon. I also have several other separate business and personal business document tools I'm learning at the same time. Spread thin.

Vorteile:

I wish I had BuildBook years ago, it is ideal. Currently I do struggle with using it as I work mostly day to day for others, me myself and I. As such, I do not get too involved wit schedule and budget or estimate. Yes I would like to very much, and need to, but again at this time I'm not. As such I have limited practice or daily use. But I support BuildBook for what they are accomplishing.

Nachteile:

For me hard to navigate, photo uploads don't happen, and it is hard to find how and where to striking off finish tasks or items. Videos of new updates are impossible to follow for any instructions. Yes one can now do this, but specifically how?

Great software, helped our systems so much!

Kommentare: We've loved having something to keep us organized, keep our subcontractors in the loop, and keep our clients happy. They know the schedule, what is expected of them, and when they need to have decisions done. That has helped me be able to spend my time working on other things instead of putting out fires all day!

Vorteile:

Pros: -All in one place -Keeps communication confusion at a minimum because it keeps things streamlined -Provides a great view of the entire build process -Love the ease of keeping track of things...even helps me as the builder see things as the big picture and help break it down for customers. -I love the notifications that have been added

Nachteile:

It's pretty user friendly but I needed to work through all the different aspects of it to see how we could utilize it best. The chat feature is great, but sometimes doesn't work. The scrolling doesn't work the best on the app version and sometimes the selections section is cery slow to add and save information. Fixes seem to make things better and better though!

Mostly easy to use. Clean look and design. Like the client portfolio.

Nachteile:

Limited on image uploads. No image gallery or thumbnails. All subs "collaborators" are notified of the daily logs. No place for collaborators and clients to have a discussion. The scheduler needs work - after every new entry entire schedule moves to the top and if the phases are closed they open back up the entire schedule with all the tasks under the phases. It is a constant open and close and very inefficient user experience.

Great Product

Kommentare: The idea to have all communications flow into one app is simple, yet very efficient. In collaboration with our processes that were in already in place, the implementation of BuildBook has increased our productivity, which means increased our bottom line. All while satisfying the customer with no added expenses directed toward them.

Vorteile:

Given multiple features to disperse to our internal team and our clients, BuildBook has proven to be well worth the investment. We have had nothing but positive feedback from our clients and the designers that we work with. They love the daily update posts that we require, which describes the work that was done that day and what is on tap for the next. The option to embed photos into your posts have made change orders easier to document and gain acceptance. The documents tab has all of the necessary information that the crews in the field need to efficiently complete the project.

Nachteile:

There are no dire needs throughout the platform. The only suggestion would be have a spreadsheet option in the documents tab that would allow all parties, or selected few, to edit right there in BuildBook. I have noticed that the older clients are not as willing or able to adapt to the learning curve of the app.

Less stress more productivity....

Vorteile:

It's like having a mobile electronic filing cabinet for each project. Everything I need is right on my cellphone in the app, from punch lists to the homeowner's paint color choices. It makes things so much more organized and thorough. My favorite feature is that the app allows me to tag and search through multiple posts to find what I am looking for. Before, I had to run searches through my thousands of emails and weed out which ones were for this job/client. I have just started using the new portfolio feature, which has allowed me to organized daily photos into "collections" then I can choose the best ones to transfer over to my portfolio. So far, I am a fan and would highly recommend giving this software a try.

Nachteile:

It's difficult to get others in the habit of using it. Even subcontractors.

Kommentare: This has been a very easy process to set up our schedules and processed. We love it so far and so do our installers and clines.

The option to communicate with the client and the team.

Nachteile:

that when you set up a template and set the number of days needed for a phase that it uses weekends in the days. Since we don't work weekend we have to adjust the days .. makes is a little hard to schedule.

Vorteile:

Really like the ease of access and the interactive part for my customers. Many of the other features have the possibility of consolidating my external pdf forms and spreadsheets.

Nachteile:

A few of its features are missing some functionality currently but it sounds like those are being worked on. It has really good potential if these gaps can be filled.
