While this software lacks some advanced functionalities, however, it remains one of the top-notch website analysis and technical SEO tools that I've worked with. I like it because it's user-friendly and provides a comprehensive website analysis feature which provides a set of tools that collect data on various SEO aspects and helps for further fixing such as broken links, meta tags, duplicate contents, and others. This software is able to collect a large amount of data on the website including page titles, headings, URLs, meta descriptions, codes, and many more which easily get exported for further analysis. This provides a more effective and easy way to deal with performance-related issues the website might be experiencing. In addition to being very smart, it offers expanded customization settings that provide ease, convenience, and extra flexibility to configure the scrawl depth, ignore certain URLs, limit scrawl to just some specific sections on the website, and more. It's a great choice for website optimization and ultimately my number one recommendation.

Nachteile:

The cost of getting a license can be very high, especially for small businesses with low or limited budgets. There is no direct support which could potentially be problematic in cases where the user needs urgent assistance. It still lacks some advanced functionalities compared to similar tools - but, it's not a great deal.

Best Tool for Technical SEO Audit

Vorteile:

Screaming Frog gives end-to-end technical SEO suggestions and errors in One Dashboard. Errors like Crawl errors, internal link errors, broken links, meta characters length, alt attributes can able to fix with the help of Screaming Frog.

Nachteile:

Its Good For Technical Seo but we have to look for another tool for Keyword Research, competitor analysis, and backlink. it would be great if they include other SEO tools

A big leap of faith if paying

Kommentare: Although it surpasses its competitors in terms of the amount of information displayed, I don0t like having to start from scratch, or for it to crawl what it shouldn't - which puts you over the 500 url limit... even on a small site.

Vorteile:

There are so many features - most of which are available in the free version

Nachteile:

As far as I could see - there was no way to only crawl the links I provide. I could also not locate a way to save the progress to check on another day, meaning I have to start from scratch every time. This, however, wouldn't be an issue in the paid version as far as I can see

Best Value for Product in This Space

Kommentare: When looking for an option to assess client sites, I need SEO software that works consistently and without bugs. It's also helpful that it's affordable compared to the other services offering a similar scraping of SEO data from a website. Given that it's a flat annual fee, I find that far superior to the high monthly costs. And as noted, it just works. If you're an SEO professional, there will be no real learning curve to use it.

Vorteile:

The software works exactly how it's intended to work, and the layout is intuitive. Once you've assessed a website, the output of links, metadata, word counts, and headers is all dead simple to understand—and even more, it's dead simple to sort the details as needed.

Nachteile:

I wouldn't say that the interface is either attractive or sophisticated. It's looked exactly the same for many, many years. It's not flashy, but it easily displays the data you need, so it's a small compromise that you don't even really notice.

The only must have tool for an SEO

Vorteile:

Being able to easily crawl a website and having everything handled for you with and obscene amount of customization options is incredible. It doesn't matter if you are a newbie of a pro, SF has you covered.

Nachteile:

Sincerely, loving everything so far. The recent updates have been amazing.

Great content audit and inventory tool

Kommentare: Overall, Screaming Frog helps me a lot in analyzing client websites and identifying top issues to solve. I can better understand a site's structure, SEO health, and usability status, which informs how I will approach a project to be the most successful.

Vorteile:

I love that I can get a birds-eye view of a website's page structure. I can easily export the site pages into a spreadsheet for performance content inventories. I also love that the tool calls out the greatest issues, such as duplicate headings or meta descriptions and readability issues. This saves me a lot of time on client work.

Nachteile:

I wish it was easier to crawl websites that are login-protected. I know this is something Screaming Frog can't control, but it would be nice to have slightly more informative help articles that walk us through what do in this scenario. I also find configuration of the tool difficult sometimes. I've had coworkers whose Screaming Frog stops crawling websites correctly, and we often have to troubleshoot for a while to figure out why.

The updated are very frequently in tool and there should be at least keyword tracking feature which can make it undefeated in the seo market.

A Very Thorough Tool For Crawling Sites and Checking Them For SEO Purposes

Kommentare: The product is a very good and thorough way of analyzing the data important for SEO and website health in a tabular form. The crawl is very fast and there are plenty of ways to configure the tool to report on the metrics that I or my clients think are the most important. It is a bit overwhelming, but that is a product of the extensiveness of the product.

Vorteile:

I found that the integration with Google Analytics (so you can see GA data alongside key onsite data) to be very beneficial and not something I have seen in other tools. It also integrates well with Majestic and Ahrefs tools. It's great the way you can export metrics and errors for inclusion in your SEO proposal documents. I really liked the feature for creating XML sitemaps, and you have more control over these than other XML sitemap generators.

Nachteile:

There is no “take a tour” feature for familiarisation with the interface. The data it presents is quite raw, which is fine for a seasoned SEO expert, but website owners and administrators will be less happy with the lack of guidance on how to interpret the data to improve SEO. The tool doesn't start crawling from a website's sitemap (if there is one) unless you tell it to do so (starting from the sitemap invariably gives you better results and it is more likely that it will crawl the whole site). There is no direct link to the help for some of the items mentioned in the interface, so it can be difficult to know what they mean. For example, what does “Protocol Relative Resource Links” mean? It does not create many colorful charts for SEOs to use to spice up SEO reports. It would be good if the product included integration with Adobe analytics API in a similar way to how it integrates with Google Analytics.

Screaming Frog is the best SEO gap-filling tool

Kommentare: When I first used Screaming Frog, I thought it was dumb - why doesn't it do everything for me? But then I did some research, got my head around it - and now it makes perfect sense. I can get it to tell me anything. I don't use it for everything (I still have other SEO tools), but when I want to have an understanding of something, I rely on Screaming Frog more than anything else.

Vorteile:

Being able to crawl my (and everyone else's) website at a seconds notice is such a powerful feeling. I can find anything - from broken links, to speed performance, to my search console results - in seconds. It's unbelievable.

Nachteile:

It's a powerful spreadsheet, so you can't just press a button that says 'do this thing'. But once you get used to it, there's nothing you can't do.

Within a minute or less, Screaming Frog spits out a list of every page on the site with information you can analyze to make sure it is optimized for SEO such as page titles, header tags and status codes. You can also use it to dig into competitor websites to see how you might beat them.

Vorteile:

My favorite feature of Screaming Frog is that you can analyze a competitor site to view there internal linking structure and possibly find ways to beat them in rankings. This tool also has a powerful feature that lets you find broken links on your own website. This includes both internal and external links from pages that may no longer exist or where moved.

Nachteile:

Scream Frog lacks the visuals of other modern software which can make it a bit challenging to view. It looks and behaves like a backend database which is fine for most who use it. But unless you are a pro user, you may have to massage the data a bit to find what you need.

Must Have Tool + Great Value

Vorteile:

Screaming Frog is able to help me find broken links, audit our many redirects, find any issues with our meta data, and so much more. It's great value for the price. The integration was super simple, nothing to do except download and install.

Nachteile:

I don't have much bad to say about this product. They've made improvements to their user guides which was a previous pain point. The UX is a bit clunky but not that important.

Must-have tool for SEO and website owners

Vorteile:

The vast number of detailed reports I can get with this software. I can check almost anything into my websites. An export tool is used by me often. It really helps to mix Screaming Frogs reports with reports from other tools. Api usage is simple, you can start using it literally in two clicks.

Nachteile:

Haven't met any disadvantages. Do they exist?

A powerful crawler (and free for smaller sites)

Kommentare: I use Screaming Frog to crawl larger sites in order to retrieve internal link data, on-page data (like title tags, descriptions, H1's, word count, etc... It crawls sites really quickly and being able to export the data makes it easy to put together audits and client reports.

Vorteile:

My favorite thing about Screaming Frog is that it's free up to a certain number of pages. Working with non-enterprise level sites myself, I get an incredible crawler for free. The thing I like most are probably Screaming Frog's internal linking and site crawl visualizations. So refreshing after living in spreadsheets for most of the day.

Nachteile:

I think the design and UI could probably be better and more intuitive. It's not terrible, but there's definitely room for improvement. I'd also love to be able to connect it to some other softwares and reports (I'm sure there's a way to make it happen, but nothing out-of-the-box that I'm aware of).

the tool crawls the whole website including its structure and gives me a good overview of all relevant data like metas, URLs, broken links etc.

Nachteile:

the user interface is oldschool and can be confusing for beginners at the beginning. but with explanatory videos and research, you can quickly learn the ropes.

Kommentare: Couldn't do properly my SEO job without it. For a serious SEO, it is a must-have tool.

Vorteile:

Lots of features, always updated with changes in SEO landscape. You can use it for scraping, find hard to see technical issues, runs faster and can manage very efficiently resources in your machine when you are processing big websites (over a million urls).

Nachteile:

Some help on the software itself could be useful (actually all support and tutorials are on its website), and some visualizations options can take too much time to load.

I love how quickly it gets me what I need - complete meta data crawls for every page of my site. It spits out a nicely formatted spreadsheet that I use to drive all of my optimization across our entire site.

Nachteile:

I can't stand how it only allows the first 500 pages on the free tier. Not a problem for smaller sites, but if you have a ton of pages and sub-pages, it'll be really frustrating to not be able to crawl them all.
