Excellent for Advocacy

Kommentare: My experience has been great and it is has proven beneficial in my legislative work.

Vorteile:

The system is designed to link members to their legislators. This allows direct communication even if they don't know them personally.

Nachteile:

I would like to send reminders to those who have yet to contact their members to do so again without having to start over.

Kommentare: I was first invited to VoterVoice by a colleague on a campaign to improve support given to international students during and after their studies. Even though it was not a grand campaign, I marveled at how effective it was at garnering support, sourcing donations, and pulling off a well-patronized protest walk. In less than a week, we had collected more than twice the number of signatures required to force a hearing, which resulted in 8 out of 10 of our demands being accepted. This experience with VoterVoice was one of the first profound experiences that pushed me into a career in the non-profit sector.

Vorteile:

The reports generated are very easy to understand and focus on the most critical actionable data points. In most software, I would complain about the relatively limited options for customizing the outputs to suit each campaign's metrics of interest, but with VoterVoice, I can say with absolute confidence that it has been built to perfection. Coordinators can therefore act promptly and in real time to coordinate field resources and communications to advocates to remedy problem areas.

Nachteile:

The datasets available are quite limited and in most cases not updated. The research teams should do more to expand the data repository, particularly in light of the fast evolving social landscape and social campaigns deployed around the world.

Not a CRM, no customizable features.

Not customizable. Everything custom had to be added via custom question in a text field (multi selects and drop downs don’t allow for altering the options later). Can’t make any new custom Q. field required. No advanced search. No way to update multiple records at once on the user end (you need to export and re-import). Import is not easy - external IDs are fake unique IDs bc they’re just text fields and they don’t autocreate (you create and track in excel before first import). No user access to the backend or to the SQL server.

Best product for the value

Kommentare: We increased our response rate by 4,000% in the first two years of using VoterVoice. That is in part due to what we were doing before VoterVoice, but a big part of it was how easy and integrated VoterVoice is.

Vorteile:

I love how quickly I can set up action alerts, and how versatile those alerts can be. We have used VoterVoice for everything from having advocates send prewritten emails, writing their own emails with talking points, scripts for phone calls, to personalized twitter campaigns. It is truly one click advocacy, users love it. They also worked with us to make the advocacy pages look like they are branded with our colors and logos.

Nachteile:

It isn't really VoterVoice's fault, but the prefixes that are set by Congress and state legislatures lead to me explaining to people who don't use Mr, Miss, Mrs, or any of the other hundred options in the drop down menu that they can enter whatever prefix they want. The problem is they MUST select a prefix, and many people seemingly would rather not do that. Unfortunately, the prefix is required.

Outstanding support from CQ. Does allow us to target messages quickly and get our members engaged on issues.

Nachteile:

Not always straightforward to set up action alerts and engagements. Sometimes I just want to send an alert and I need to think about it.

Vorteile:

I like the Advocacy Campaigns, the reporting, how easy it is to use, customer service, connects with your website and Social Media. I like how VoterVoice connects the Zip and county of each individual's address. There is so much that I like.

Nachteile:

The cons is VoterVoice doesn't connect to our CRM. We email from our CRM, so we can track each individual's action with our organization. But, our CRM doesn't have an Advocacy section. So, we use VoterVoice. When we run a campaign, we have to download the constituents who sent message and then compare those people to our CRM. Once we've removed all our current constituents, then we upload all the new constituents. This could takes days depending how many people have taken action.

Robust advocacy platform with excellent customer support

Vorteile:

It has everything you need (and more) to run a successful advocacy program. The customer service is excellent and very responsive to requests. We saw very positive results by using the program. Tracking the results of messages to legislators was easy to assess.

Nachteile:

Some functions could be a little more intuitive. I found myself asking support on how to do a couple of things. But, these were minor in the overall scheme of things.

Advocacy Made Easy

Kommentare: This has helped increase constituent engagement and saved staff time; it has also improved our image, as it helps increase the accuracy of our bill summaries and status.

It allows constituents to quickly take action on their mobile devices with options for pre-filled or guided messaging.

Nachteile:

No link to bill text on the summary page for users. Clunky way of organizing stale legislation from previous legislative sessions

Fantastic Time Saver!

Vorteile:

Absolutely Love that everything I need to research & get copies of legislation in any state or on the federal level is all in one place! Saves me hours of time on web searches. Additionally, creating advocacy campaigns that can contact state and federal elected officials regardless of area is simple and effective.

Nachteile:

There aren't alot of options to easily customize the layout of content in email blasts, newsletters, or campaigns.

Kommentare: VoterVoice is both user and end user friendly. I really like the options that allow users to customize their messages. It not only gets the recipients attention, but gives additional insight on user comments.

Vorteile:

VoterVoice is very user friendly. I really like the reporting features that give us better insight of users. The customer service team is great to work with! They are always willing to help troubleshoot, make updates, or answer questions.

Nachteile:

When updates are made to legislative bodies, it would be helpful to get an email confirming that the updates have been made. Perhaps our administrator gets an update like that, but for example - I was working on an alert for a specific state level committee and the members had not been updated since the previous election. Again, the customer service team was ready to assist and quickly resolved, but if I would not have compared to the committee website, I would not have known that the names were out of date.

Vorteile:

I like the ability to create custom targets for my campaign, and the customer service from VoterVoice frequently assists me in creating successful campaigns that we can use for outreach.

Nachteile:

The constiuency rules (IE can't send to a representative outside of your district) make committee work complicated but the customer support team is always very helpful in navigating this challenge.

I've been using votervoice for 10+ years. My firm was an eari adopter of the tool and e-advocacy campaigns. The tool was relatively easy to learn and you have great customer service.

Nachteile:

No real cons that I've experienced. I've had occasional setup problems, but customer service took care of the issues quickly.

Kommentare: Our organization is able to communicate with our members with very little cost.

Vorteile:

Easy to use and very reliable! Email distribution lists are easy to set up, love the reports and all of the features. Tech support is awesome!

Nachteile:

Site is a little slow at times but it's not a big deal. Other than that, I have no other issue with this.

Kommentare: It is a strategic method for action oriented campaigns. I'd like to be able to add videos or photographs maybe and have a newsletter feature but it is good so far.

Vorteile:

The fact that emails can go out to elected officials without my having to put in information. I also like the ability to tailor messages and have people call as well as write an email. I love the option of being able to determine at what time to send out a message.

Nachteile:

It lacks the ability to reach out to municipal officials and school board members.

It enables us to know our Advocates strengths and provide field staff with real- time information.

There is a lot to learn about writing Action Alerts if you are not inclined toward the graphic arts.

Worth the Cost

Vorteile:

Customer Service is quick and helpful almost all of the time when I have questions about VoterVoice. The congressional contact information is updated and it makes it easy to send letters/alerts to members of Congress based on committee or house. The walk through is pretty simple and easy to pick up; my interns go through the training and within a week can send a basic alert with no issues.

Nachteile:

Some of the more updated features are not available like text alerts or connecting with media. The reporting is pretty complicated if you can find at all.

Vorteile:

I have always appreciate the value of a platform that allows associations to activate their members quickly and makes it easy for them to take action. Voter Voice fills that need for our association. It's easy to set-up a campaign even if you are only occasionally needing the system.

Nachteile:

We would appreciate having access to more of the features that Voter Voice offers at the basic price.

Vorteile:

It's relatively easy to use. Uploading contacts has been largely worry-free through the unique ID.

Nachteile:

The terminology, "target" can be confusing since we're composing messages that are for both our membership and the legislature. So, generally both groups are "targets." I think something like, "message to supporter/stakeholder" could be used for referring to sending to our members, with something like "message to decision-maker" being the label for the final intended destination.

the way in which the backend data (who is in office, which committees legislators are on, etc.) was always up-to-date, correct, etc.; we always knew we could rely on it.

User Friendly Software to Activate Your Membership

Kommentare: Our membership wants an easy, accessible way to engage in our grassroots advocacy program and contact legislators on issues they care about. VoterVoice gives our organization a way to do that, and for that reason we really view it as a membership benefit and service.

VoterVoice is user-friendly, plugs in easily to your organization's social media and website, and comes with a number of features to help with Capitol Days, events, press communications, and legislative tracking.

Nachteile:

The challenge with all constituent communications platforms like VoteVoice is that oftentimes email communications are ignored by legislative staff or sent to spam folders. To avoid this issue, we've started doing customized call to actions and using more phone scripts.

Ease of Campaign set up and application

Kommentare: We've used VoterVoice to inform more than 7,400 members about advocacy efforts, ongoing legislative initiatives, and to engage them in helping support work on their behalf with state and federal elected and appointed officials.
Any time we've had questions or difficulties, the staff of VoterVoice have been handy, ready to help, and have quickly solved our questions for us.

Vorteile:

The simplicity of choosing targets, uploading contacts, and revising contacts all make this simple to adopt. The directions as you set up various types of campaigns allows you to customize messages, audiences and actions with ease.

Nachteile:

At times, we have had to revise programs and target audiences on the go. But easily solved.
