Kommentare: As an Engineer when you are review gigs of data from a customer, loading that log file in UltraEdit and searching across has become very easy.

Vorteile:

- Very helpful in searching and modifying files for specific data - Useful in analyzing and modifying scripts - Automatic detection of type of script/language based on saved file extension - Really helpful in loading up files that are huge in size. Notepad++ fails to do so and hangs - Awesome part - They have a MAC version

Nachteile:

- The menu bar has too many options that makes it clumsy - File size is huge, sometimes take some time to load

Great for SAS programming

Vorteile:

I liked the layout and integration with SAS fusion environments for ease of navigating folder/file locations. I also liked being able to record macros of commonly ran code and assigning keyboard shortcuts to said macros.

Nachteile:

Graphical interface seemed to revert back to original with any product updates. Also with too many windows open in the application would disable the clipboard on other windows applications.

Help to work with files with enormous data

Kommentare: Ultraedit is a very useful tool to work with text files, programming files, and other type of files that you need edit and change frequently.

Vorteile:

Organization capability to manage a lot of files in a simple project. Additionally, Ultraedit has complex features to interact with other environments such as linux SSH consoles and FTP services.

Nachteile:

There are other functions less important such Macro and Scripting that they need improve.

you can easily copy and paste you can open several files at once the search mode which is efficient and finally the text editing it integrates easily with Evernote

Good, but not perfect

It is very helpful opening any sort of text file. I like the fact it can be added to the mouse right-click options.

Nachteile:

It can be used free only for a limited period, considering there are similar product opensurce it costs a lot.

The only editor you need

Vorteile:

I cannot use a computer without this tool and it's one of the first software I install when I get started with a new machine. It's super fast and capable of editing any kind of file. Search, applying regex, column editing. If you can imagine something, Ultraedit can do it. I've recently extended my purchase to the suite so I can use all their tools for a small annual fee. Definitely a winner!

Nachteile:

I've been used this software for many years and I cannot find anything it's not capable of doing. The only cons I see is that since it's such a powerful tool, it requires a bit of learning

Utra Edit is Ulta Pro

Vorteile:

Utra edit is one the best tool for open big text files like system logs. It is widely used in every sector. The most powerful feature I like is supporting the big files which is in GB. You can easily open the file in ultra edir.

Nachteile:

Ultra edit also has the improvement area and i think the least supportive feature is direct copy or selected copy after the search.

Great text editing tool

Kommentare: Opening and editing configuration files, saving text for use later, copying/pasting text between other applications - basically anything where you need to work with plain text.

Vorteile:

Simple interface designed for developers with auto-colouring of code, and the ability to open nearly any file. Search and filter features are great too.

Nachteile:

Nothing - best one I have used. Doesn't need to be updated every second day.

A good code editor with a big price tag.

Kommentare: Overall, this tool is very good if you are willing to pay for it. The features are good but not better than other competitors out there. We can multi-select and edit codes, highlight syntaxes, etc. which helps a lot.

Vorteile:

The user interface is good and installation is simple. All the files are organized well. The web development tools helps a lot. The tool allows us to code in any programming language like JavaScript, HTML, JSON, etc. We can edit, modify codes easily.

Nachteile:

The tool is very costly even for personal use and this is a major drawback. When working on larger projects, the tool keeps hanging and becomes slow. The GUI can be improved to make user experience better.

Vorteile:

E' molto stabile e supporta l'apertura e la modifica di file di testo anche di grandi dimensioni.

Nachteile:

Rispetto ad altri prodotto concorrenti che offrono le stesse funzionalità è a pagamento dopo il periodo di prova (sarebbe stata una scelta di business e più al passo con i tempi lasciarlo ultilizzabile con al più dei popup informativi).

Excellent text editor / IDE

Vorteile:

The huge array of features built right into the interface, from Git to SSH and FTP.

Nachteile:

Really excellent product, nothing not to like from my experience.

Text editor professionale

Vorteile:

Un programma molto leggero, di immediato caricamento e bassissimo impatto sulle risorse del pc. Ottimo per aprire file di qualsiasi origine, in grado di editare e modificare non solo i semplici txt.

Nachteile:

Auspico un intervento di design e ammodernamento della parte menu / icone, ma da programmatore lo ritengo l'aspetto meno importante

Bon éditeur de code

Kommentare: Je m'en suis servi pendant plus de 10 ans pendant ma carrière de développeur. Je travaillerai encore avec si ma société n'avait pas adapté un outils spécifique à mon métier (RobotStudio pour programmer les robot ABB) qui est tout aussi puissant en ajoutant les spécificité lié à ma branche professionnelle. Je garde néanmoins UltraEdit sous le coude pour réaliser mes "remplacements dasn des fichiers", fonction qui n'est pas disponible actuellement dans RobotStudio.

Vorteile:

J'ai apprécié différentes choses comme l apossibilité de créer ma propre bibliothèque de fonctions et de procédures avec une coloration syntaxique personnalisée. De plus le système de recherche / remplacement dans tout les fichiers d'une dossier est très puissante. Je m'en suis souvent servi (ALT+R+R comme raccourcis lol) De plus le j'ai découvert la possibilité de travailler avec un mode "colonne" ou la sélection peux se faire sur plusieurs lignes et permet de modifier plusieurs lignes simultanément. Très pratique lors d'écriture redondantes.

Nachteile:

Franchement pas grand chose à reprocher. Peut-être le système de comparaison de fichier qui n'était pas super mais à par ça, il avait le mérite d'exister.

The best text editor for Web developers, programmers, and just about everyone else

Kommentare: I've been using this program since its Version 4--and now they're up to Ver 25! I've been working on websites since the late 1990s, and a good text/HTML editor is essential--even if you are using a WYSIWYG program, especially if you want to fine tune the page appearance. While everything is now done with content management software, text tweaks still need to be accomplished. The company behind UE is dedicated to keeping it the best. Strongest recommendation.

Vorteile:

Embarrassingly feature rich. Great for doing HTML work for websites--which is my main use of it. But it can be used for any text-editing requirement--and this is important for anyone whose computer needs go beyond e-mail and MS-Word. e.g. most mailing list programs allow import of text files, and these can easily be cleaned up with UltraEdit.

Nachteile:

As with any feature-rich program, a learning curve is involved if you want to go beyond the basics. But, there is an elaborate Help facility that will provide assistance, as well as quick customer support. I once needed some macros, and the support team wrote them for me!

Ultra Edit - Try it!

Kommentare: I used UltraEdit for some javscript and html coding and for repetitive tasks with text files, particularly editing raw CSV files. Ultra edit was a mainstay in my development arsenal for many years.

Vorteile:

It's a good text editing program with some advanced features. It's text manipulation and macro recording helped me with some very repetitive tasks.

Nachteile:

It was a little harder to work out how to customise and extend it's features, but for what it was used for it was and still is a great text editor.

best editor on market

Kommentare: overall I am satisfied with my experience and what this software offers, and the amount of problems it helped me to solve

Vorteile:

A powerful Text Editor that can handle most file formats, ultraedit supports various character encoding so it can handle almost every file. support many programing languages with great Highlighting, and it just keeps getting better with every update

Nachteile:

the User Interface can be improved a lot, advanced features require some learning curve to use

UE Studio

Kommentare: Overall, extremely useful and versitale for various types of code.

Vorteile:

Multiple code type templates and multi tab editing allow for ease of switching between various languages & formats easily. Tools bundled (file compare, direct connect and editing with files not local...etc.) are extremely powerful.

Nachteile:

Integration to Git is not straight forward and difficult to control when editing bot Git repository objects and local objects not in Git. Split screen editing between 2 or more files is not intuitive and can be difficult to consistently get the affect you are trying to get.

A powerful text editor

Kommentare: I have used it during the trial period, and there is nothing to complain about, on the contrary. It is loaded with cool features, there is an embedded FTP client. I would have definitely gone for the paid version if there were more options of subscriptions and if there were options in other currencies other than USD.

Vorteile:

It is a very powerful text editor, full of features. Very customizable. It performs really well with large files, no hanging whatsoever. It is supported across different operating systems, so no matter what is your OS, you can still get UE.

Nachteile:

No major drawbacks other than it does not have a free version, there is only a 30-day trial and the subscription is yearly.

Long time user - because it's great

Kommentare: It is my go to editor when I'm not doing something in an IDE. Quickly opens the file auto-detecting human readable (apply your own encoding) or binary file. Great navigation, great all around tool for handling files of any type and size.

Vorteile:

projects fast open of large files column mode and hex edit flexible, easy to use and well documented syntax highlighting ... the end of a long list of editor functions that UE does like all others including find/replace - file/files, regular expressions, format xml, function tags, fonts, wraps, trim EOL, etc., etc.

Nachteile:

I've used this editor since 1987 if there was anything I thought was a con I would have moved on a long time ago. It has only gotten stronger with age.

The Ultimate Editor

Kommentare: I have been using this product for over 15 years and it is my go to editor. My secondary one is BBEdit. The column editing mode is the main feature that I keep using to standardize and format code.

Vorteile:

This editor comes with standard editing features plus some very special editing features. There is a capability to edit by column which is rare in other editors. Copy, paste, and edit in a column mode. The find, find in files, and find and replace options enhance the editing capabilities.

Nachteile:

The one feature I would like is the ability to compare two files side by side to see the differences like BBEdit. There is a compare ability, but BBEdit’s capabilities outshine those of Ultraedit.

One of the best edit program for me!

Kommentare: I have to work with many different types of files and this program manage to open and work with all of them. I also like very much option to edit txt files by colums. It is very useful if you copy some data from Excel and have to use some of them to make sql cripts.

Vorteile:

I use it every, every day with pleasure! You can customize a lot of thing and it shows in readable appropriate way 'txt', 'sql', 'xml' files and etc. It works very fast and very nice. You can open a few different files and to swich each of them easy.

Nachteile:

Sometimes it fails to recognize the language and bets another type of code page, even if I have previously set a default value

Vorteile:

UltraEdit is fast, even when editing large files. It supports themes, so you can switch between the built-in ones or you can create your own. The features I like the most are the ability to select and edit multiple columns at the same time, and file comparison.

Nachteile:

I have nothing to complain about other than the price. It is more expensive than other popular text editors that are as feature-rich as UltraEdit is.

Very complete and powerful editor

Kommentare: It is an editor that is available in each sector of my work, and it has been useful to me even though I do not dedicate myself to programming. I have used it to search for text and edit small text files, being very useful in office tasks only for certain occasions.

Vorteile:

It has a lot of functionalities that make it very special and very complete. Ideal for programmers or simply read text. Performs advanced functions apart from editing, such as highlighting text and comparing files. It is very good to edit multiple files and connect via FTP to other servers to edit files. I really like its interface and the possibility to customize its appearance.

Nachteile:

UltraEdit requires the user to devote a great effort to understand the large number of functions it offers. Unlike other publishers, UltraEdit offers too many possibilities and functionalities that can be overwhelming for the user. However, all this is what makes UltraEdit a very powerful and worthwhile software to understand.
