Sehr gut geeignet für Life Science / Schnelles Tool im Vergleich mit anderen cloud-basierten Tools / sehr selten Outage / Sehr gut integrierte Tools Laborbuch-Inventory-Protocols-Equipmentmanagement-Supplies / mit API erweiterbar / Sharing
Nachteile:
Viele Nutzer würden es bevorzugen, wenn Änderungen in Sections von Experimenten automatisch gespeichert werden und nicht mit einem Save-Button bestätigt werden müssen (analog zu Google Docs zB).
In Betracht gezogene Alternativen: Benchling, Labfolder und Labguru

Regarding the expandability of our API, we encourage you to explore the newly added API calls along our recently released Developer Hub, which has many readily available recipes! Additionally, we are excited to announce that we now offer API calls for ChatGPT integration. This integration opens even more possibilities for customization and innovation. Weniger schlechte ELN-Lösung
Kommentare: Von den ELNs die ich kenne ist eLabJournal noch das beste, aber ich verstehe trotzdem, warum viele StudentInnen und Postdocs nach wie vor Papier-Bücher verwenden. Vieles ist einfach mühsam und kann nur über Umwege einigermaßen umgesetzt werden (vor allem in meinem Bereich, Mikroskopie).
Vorteile:
eLabJournal ist recht übersichtlich und einfach zu bedienen, hat einen relativ guten Funktionsumfang. Die Nutzer- und Admin-Verwaltung ist gut und übersichtlich.
Nachteile:
Es sind dann doch zu viele offensichtliche Funktionen, die fehlen. Eine kurze Auswahl: # Verlinkung zu externen Daten (die zum Beispiel zu groß sind zum Hochladen). Am besten mit etablierten QCs wie Checksummen, NFTs oder Ähnlichem.# Durchgehende Versionskontrolle (manchmal kann man alte Versionen sehen & herunterladen, manchmal nur sehen, manchmal muss man sie wiederherstellen, um sie sehen zu können). Dabei ist "Versioning" doch in der Softwarewelt ein seit Jahrzehnten gelöstes Problem.# Import von Mikroskopie-Bilddateien über "Bioformats"-Standard; ideal wäre ein integrierter Web-Viewer für Bilddateien im Originalformat (naheliegend: OMERO).# Maßeinheiten nicht frei definierbar.

Concerning the tediousness of doing certain things, we have made some significant updates to the system that will resolve some of those concerns raised in this review! Functionality and Superb Customer Support
Kommentare: Our overall experience with eLab Journal has been exceptional. We are glad we chose to partner with them because they were definitely the right choice! They have helped us immensely and we would not have achieved a successful project outcome without them.
Vorteile:
Working with the team at eLab Journal to implement our LIMS and make enhancements as our laboratory has grown has been a wonderful experience. Everyone we have worked with is responsive and collaborative. The software itself has amazing functionality and provides the features we need to act as an efficient, high throughput testing laboratory.
Nachteile:
When we implemented the software in 2020, some of the menu items and navigation seemed disjointed and not exceptionally intuitive. eLab Journal has evolved since then and we have seen improvements. The team is also open to our feedback as system users.

Thank you for your review of eLabJournal, Maura happy to hear that you've noticed our improvements, and we always appreciate the great feedback! Since October 2021, we have implemented several new UI updates, reorganized the navigation tools, and taken a more multi-disciplinary approach to the menu items so that chemists, biologists, research techs, and lab directors can easily access their unique day-to-day workflows within the system. Stay tuned for additional major updates by 2023!

Effortless and Scalable Inventory Management
Vorteile:
Handling a large inventory of samples and reagents used to be a challenge--until we implemented eLabNext. The barcode label printing and scanning capabilities have streamlined our workflows and minimized human errors. What I appreciate most is the seamless integration of inventory items with out experiments and protocols, keeping everything organized and easily accessible. The eLabNext team provided outstanding support during onboarding, ensuring a smooth and stress-free transition. This platform has become an essential tool for our lab.
Nachteile:
There was/is never a bad experience with eLabNext and the team.
