Sonic wall used as firewall and antivirus

Kommentare: My overall experience for sonic-wall advance is outstanding specially in antivirus and firewall and i really recommend this for information technology company.

Vorteile:

Our company uses sonic wall as antivirus and firewall. You can set up web content filtering in order to block some sites not related to company policy. You can also view logs to diagnose issues. Any install usb is scanned quickly.

Nachteile:

There is no pop out message saying about summary of treat detection and report on a daily basis but it is okay as long as the It can capture those web threats quickly.

My customer said: it is cheap compared to the peace of mind that this service provides

Kommentare: Right now, most of the ransoware attacks come via email. This Sonicwall security service are really effective to defend your organization. Highly recommended

Vorteile:

Easy to deploy, easy to manage and more important: in 10 minutes is working wihout any changes on user pc email configuration

Nachteile:

When apply changes, sometimes it takes time to refresh it.

Customer Service Gone Wrong

Kommentare: Though we have solved a way to access files away from our main office network, their customer service team has ruined the image of this business. We are currently having the issues of purchasing 6 licenses and only 2 of them working. To get this issue addressed you to have your yearly support instated. After purchasing this yearly support after noticing we were having issues to the support team says my account has still expired. They said I needed to pay for a reinstatement key. I was told this was waived and I am still having issues with this team. It borderline feels like a scam. I would ADVISE NOT with using this company.

Vorteile:

This device is great in helping the company deliver a strong VPN service to access files from our database on our main server.

Nachteile:

The software has issues that haven't been fixed from the team. They rely on you to purchase yearly support to get around them

Vorteile:

SonicWall Email Security has made the process of anti spam, where any email defect is well controlled.

Nachteile:

SonicWall Email Security has initiated the coordination of business safety.

Impressive and Authentic Email Security Approach

Vorteile:

SonicWall scans all the email attachment to ensure no malware that affects the company system.

Nachteile:

SonicWall has managed to make emails threat free without fail.

Email Security made easy!

Kommentare: Overall, I am very happy with what SonicWall has created for their customers when talking about Email Security. It can pretty much handle anything that is thrown its way and they give administrators & management enough reports to show how secure their business is when looking at the largest cause of ransomware... inbound email.

Vorteile:

SonicWall obviously listened to what their customers were looking for when it comes to Email Security. The platform should not require the users (nor admins) to have a Ph.D. to setup/use their email security product choice. They have obviously spent a lot of time putting together a ton of features that businesses are looking for to ensure they have a robust email security gateway watching what comes in/out of their company.

Nachteile:

With a platform as robust as the SonicWall Email Security product line, I would have thought that there would be more customizable functions for advanced administrators to dive in and create detailed reports/functions that management demands.

Connecting remotely

Kommentare: SonicWall has been positively satisfactory so far -- it helps us connect remotely so that we can work from home and still access everything we need to get the job done.

Vorteile:

We use SonicWall's VPN service to connect remotely. In my experience, it has been very reliable and almost always works instantly.

Nachteile:

At times, I can be disconnected and on occasion we have issues connecting at begin with, but it works seamlessly the vast majority of the time.

Worked great but a bit complex to use

Kommentare: It was able to protect us for the time being and I would say the security is good. It was just unfortunate it was not very intuitive to use.

Vorteile:

It had a lot of features in terms of filtering and protection. I felt that it worked fairly well for eliminating threats. It helped protect our email and filtered out suspicious malware or phishing attempts well.

Nachteile:

It was extremely difficult to understand from and admin standpoint. I had a lot of difficulty making changes to something that I had a vendor set up for me. I had to rely on the vendor for any changes required since the set up with very hard.

Effectively Reduced Spam and Threats

Kommentare: Save time in not having to deal with a bunch of junk email and increases our company's security.

Vorteile:

As a journalist, we get a lot of spam mail and were looking for something that would effectively monitor the obvious spam and phishing attempts, but also be able to effectively block domains and specific send types as well as make sure we received our e-mail 24/7. So far, SonicWall Email Security hasn't let us down. I can't speak on how easy it was to set up as I am just a user, but from the user end, it's awesome.

Nachteile:

There wasn't much not to like from the user side - it was seamless as far as I was concerned and I haven't had any issues accessing my e-mail or noting whether items were legit when it thought it was spam.

SonicWall Email Security

Vorteile:

Somewhat easy to deploy, some of the built-in reports are useful.

Nachteile:

I am not a big fan of this product. Technically it's OK as a "spam" filter, but not very robust compared to some of it's competitors.

Probably not on my recommend list

Vorteile:

Sonicwall does get the job done - basically.

Nachteile:

Customer support is VERY difficult. Their tier-1 and tier-2 support are off-shored. While the technicians are knowledgeable, the native-English-speaking barrier can be (at times) extremely difficult to overcome.

Just started

Kommentare: Does a great job and is easy to use.

Vorteile:

Just started to use this but i actually like it better then or last security.

Nachteile:

I don't like to have to log in every time, but that might be a setting on my end.

Content Filter

Vorteile:

Although only used as a content filter it was easy to scale and a second level of security and reporting. Specific applications are denied access out to the internet as well as social networks. It's very affordable and great as a secondary level of security.

Nachteile:

Since Its not pushed to the max, i don't have any cons to speak of. The external firewall is FortiGate.

Pros and Cons

Kommentare: New features should be added and improvements should be done.

Vorteile:

Simple user interface and easy to use , stays up and running.

Nachteile:

Slow support response Support lacks quick feedback.
