An easy tool for quick video editing

Avidemux is an easy to use and functional tool for all the basic tasks of the video files editing: you can cut, merge, subtitle, add logo, apply soundtrack, encode, add generic effects etc. It is very handy when you are to make a video promo quickly from some filmed material and upload it to you corporate website or social network page. It's user interface is very similar to the earlier popular but outdated now VirtualDub.
You can avoid bothering yourself with all that containers, codecs etc. staff, just choose the target file extension like MP3 or AVI and save what you have edited.
Of course it lacks the might of the professional video editors like Adobe Premiere, but any everyday office task can be performed with it, and all that for free.
Vorteile:
It is very easy to use, you should not be a video editing professional or a container/codec guru. It performs all the everyday office tasks such as an uploadable promo video creation. It works with all the popular video file formats. It does not require any 3rd party audio/video software such as codecs etc. It is free and up to date.
Nachteile:
Until now I did never encounter any video editing task which was not supported by this software. I just can't point out any faults.

Vorteile:
I can edit and transcode with it any kind of video. It is an excellent linear video editor. i like the transcode feature too.
Nachteile:
I can barely convince it to do batch transcoding (multiple video at the same time). The software had, at a previous time, an add-on to do that, but I didn't found it recently.
Great For Beginners
Kommentare: Too simple, not much features but some people like it that way, it can be less confusing! Great for young kids who want to practice video making!

I like how simple and easy it is to use. For sure, beginners, really great for when kids want to learn how to video edit. Best for making quick videos.

Advanced Video Editing on a Budget.
Kommentare: Use Avidemux for editing video for animation projects as well as gameplay video for development projects. It does what I need without getting in the way.

Avidemux is an Open Source solution that supports most video and audio formats. Clipping and Cropping are simple operations that just work. Video optimization, scaling, motion compensation, speed control, add borders, flip, rotate, fade.... All built-in features. Noise filters, Subtitles, and more. Export video to Mpeg1,2,4, x264, h264, AVI, DVD Compatible MPEG, flash video etc. Change audio tracks, mute audio, and more. Supports custom scripts to perform more advanced operations. Did I mention that it is open source and you can download it for free? It is available for PC Windows, MacOS and linux/BSD.
Nachteile:
While most features are simple and straight forward, some of the more advanced features will take some time to understand and utilize. Some codecs may not be supported.
Avidexmux is simple and yet powerful.
Kommentare: Besides that it's free, it's handy software. Small and fast. You don't get many of those around these days. I recommend using it primarily for lossless editing - you can cut and merge video clips and add filters. It has its issues, like it used to crash all the time but is relatively stable now. One of my favourite free software, period!
Vorteile:
The best free program I've used. It is great for simple video edits, trimming and splicing videos losslessly. It's not for serious and advanced video editing work, so one must appreciate the simple things- intuitive, cross-platform- it works on both Windows and Mac. Also, it can transcode and re-encode a video into different formats.
Nachteile:
It's a free software, and the expectations are really low. Sometimes audio gets distorted on video import. When I try to save an appended video with only mp4 files, it freezes, stops responding and crashes; it's just one glitch after another. There's no timeline with multiple tracks.
