Vorteile:

Givebutter's cool live fundraising tools are what drew me in. When I watched a fellow nonprofit owner raise $15k in at 15 minutes using a projection of Givebutter's live giving tool, I knew I had to try it.

I was never able to get the email donors function to work

The good is great and the bad is really a pain

Kommentare: We are mostly pleased with Givebutter. It's been a stressful experience making this transition and doing all the data work, only to discover that the above mentioned items were not as they were sold to us. We're making it work and enjoying the rest of the Givebutter experience. We really appreciate the free basic plan and the excellent customer service.

Vorteile:

Streamlined payment systems, delightful customer service, and of course, it's free. We have enjoyed the event features and are VERY glad for the recent rollouts.

Nachteile:

We were overpromised on a few major items on the front end by Givebutter staff. We had completely transitioned our data by the time we found this out. It's very disappointing and causes a load of extra work. 1.) Reports being raw excel and not savable/reproducible is extremely inefficient. 2.) Contacts being only individuals and not businesses, with no mode of addressing couples makes letter composition in GB impossible for us. We are forced to use mail merge in Word because of the "placeholder" last name of our business contacts. That means generating a report and cleaning it up, then doing a mail merge, and then going in and manually selecting who has been acknowledged. It's just the worst. Letters being pdf only makes no sense and turns a very basic and needed feature into an all-or-nothing stressor 3.) We were told that we could upload forms for year-end tax credits and have since found out that we cannot. The forms are state tax credit forms- fillable pdf. Big bummer. Lastly, Givebutter does not interface with Quickbooks and that creates a need for Zapier which costs more money and doesn't reliably work, we are finding. A lot of time is spent fixing Zapier and Quickbooks. Even our old dinosaur of a CRM communicated with Quickbooks, so this is a biggie.

Good straightforward product, nuance still needed

Kommentare: The onboarding experience was good. You can figure out how to make it work for you in most circumstances. I think it has a lot of potential to grow and expand its functionality. I appreciate the roadmap and feedback model the company employs.

Vorteile:

1) I like the embeddable forms and the ticketing. 2) The back-end admin experience is fairly clean and straightforward. 3) I love that it has card readers and tap to pay. 4) I like that it accepts digital wallets.

Nachteile:

1) Creation of Forms: There's no differentiation between sales forms and donate forms, eg, if I have an event that is selling tickets, hosting an auction, and asking for donations, I can't choose to create a form for donations and a separate form for tickets, it's automatically a ticket form, with option to donate. I can't turn off the option to donate, and if I want to just ask for donations I need to create a new campaign. On a similar note, auctions don't have an embeddable form option. 2) Embedded Forms: Once they're embedded, they can be kind of laggy, at least on my squarespace site. The page will load, and then the form. 3) User Types: Not a whole lot of difference between admin and editor users. I wish there was some kind of volunteer user where you can control what campaigns they have access to and allows them to use the app and card reader.

Excellent CMS!

Kommentare: Givebutter is very user friendly, but when we have needed support, the Givebutter customer service/technical support people are always very helpful and available.

Vorteile:

I've had experience with different donor databases before, and Givebutter is BY far the best one I've worked with. First of all, you can't beat the price, but beyond that, their CMS speaks to different platforms, such as QuickBooks and other platforms we use.

We've been using Givebutter for nearly a year now and have no complaints.

MAJOR TICKETING PROBLEM

Kommentare: Great, except for the major issue I explained above that is really causing problems. If it is not fixed, we will be forced to use a separate ticketing platform.

Vorteile:

The user interface, simplicity of organizing fundraising campaigns, and cost of use is fantastic.

Nachteile:

MAJOR PROBLEM: When people buy tickets, they are forced to fill out their information twice. Once when filling their information in on their ticket, and again when filling in their contact information. People don't like doing it twice, it wastes their time, and appears unprofessional. This is absolutely unacceptable and cost us several ticket sales during our last campaign. To be honest, we might be forced to use a different ticketing platform for future events unless you can fix this. It can be fixed either by making each ticket holder a new contact and sending tickets separately, or by auto filling the information from ticket 1.

I am thankful for the ease Givebutter has brought to donor stewardship. It’s great to also have functions like raffle and silent auction and the ability to sell tickets all in one platform. It has made for gathering data which is then used in stewardship much easier.

We would have loved access to printing tickets for pre sale. A lot of our audience like paper tickets from a physical place

Vorteile:

I love the way we can combine most of our major platforms into one with Givebutter (donations, contacts, communications). I also love how responsive the Givebutter team is to our needs.

Nachteile:

With any platform change, there is a learning curve. At first, it can seem overwhelming, especially when needing to migrate recurring donations from our former platform to Givebutter. In the end, it worked, but it was more complicated than I anticipated.

Vorteile:

Once you figure it out it is easy to set things up for campaigns. We have been able to save tremendoulsy in the fees.

Nachteile:

It is harder to move around when your admin window is not at full size. I often like to have 2 windows share a screen when I am updating spreadsheets. It would also be nice to be able to download campaign info via spreadsheet.

You would expect with a free platform you would get lesser customer service than other paid platforms, but that is the completed opposite. The team at Givebutter are friendly, knowledgeable and responsive. Every single person I've worked with is a five-star ambassador for the brand. Amazing to work with.

Kommentare: Overall, my experience with Givebutter has been positive. It is quite comprehensive as a basic CRM. The support is top notch, and the platform is free to use, if you have their "tip" system enabled on donations (we do). Their support and product development teams are very responsive to input and suggestions for new features. For a medium-large organization, however, the software might to be used in conjunction with other software and tools in order to perform all the tasks needed.

Vorteile:

Givebutter is a great platform for small nonprofits. The software makes it easy to accept gifts online, send acknowledgement emails or letters, create fundraising campaigns, and track donor engagement. You can also manually add donations, which is helpful to our organization, as many of our gifts are made offline. The contact import tool is easy to use. The contact profile has areas for notes and keeping track of donor communication. It is easy to see a snapshot of the donor's activity all in one place on their profile. The reporting function is well-designed for basic reporting needs. The ability to track fundraising goals on campaign pages publicly is helpful, and donors can leave notes and images on a fundraising page when donating, which adds a personal touch. Best of all, though, is their customer support. Their support team is super helpful and friendly, and their product development is always looking for ways to improve the software. You can "vote" for a product feature, and often, they are added over time.

Nachteile:

Givebutter is a perfect platform for smaller organizations. At our organization, we have more extensive and complex needs, and have an additional CRM, so we've ended up needing to use both platforms. I would like to see the ability to create and print acknowledgement documents such as postcards for memorials, and the ability to mail merge the information needed from the donation transactions. At times, the interface can be too simplified, and make it difficult to find settings you're looking for. Also, there is currently no ability to track donations sent via text-to-donate codes- you see a total, but not who gave. The reporting could also be more robust. Right now, you can't run simple reports on people who unsubscribe from an email blast or bounced email addresses from the Engage module. You also can't customize the text that appears on donors' credit card statements with your organization name. It would also be helpful if a phone support number was offered to customers.

GiveButter makes it easier!

Kommentare: I used GiveButter with another organization after switching from Network for Good (Bonterra). Every aspect of GiveButter is more user friendly for operations and donors. I was excited to set it up for a new organization and transitioned as soon as we could.

Vorteile:

I love the accessibility and the ease of use with GiveButter. It has helped our small organization fundraise without complicated platforms or systems. People can donate using familiar to them tools like PayPal and Venmo. We can capture contact information without barriers. It helps us to build lasting donor relationships. The event tool is extremely useful for our organization as we seek to use events to raise funds and serve the community.

Nachteile:

I find some of the fees to be challenging to understand in the back end and how they will be viewed by donors.

Givebutter is a Must for Fundraising Newbies

Kommentare: EXCELLENT experience! I've been in fundraising for 6 months now and I have no clue how I would have pulled off our annual fundraiser without it. I recommend GB to any other fundraising newbies I meet as well.

Vorteile:

Very user friendly with awesome customer support & chat features. Low to no cost upon startup. Great workshops/webinars. Constantly making updates, listening to user feedback, and improving the app. LIVE FUNDRAISING PAGE!!!!

Nachteile:

Can't design custom tickets. Not enough personalization options in fundraising campaigns. No custom URL option to hide the givebutter.com domain - the URL kinda freaks people when they read "givebutter" the name.

Vorteile:

Givebutter is a great, user friendly experience for online giving and marketing. Our team has been able to create campaigns with ease and the donors appreciate the attention to detail and customer service.

Nachteile:

We have had some challenges with donors setting up recurring payments to limited run campaigns. It may have started with user error, but getting the recurring payments transferred or turned off has been difficult.
