Februar 2019* | Informationstechnologie & -dienste | Empfehlungsbewertung: 8.0/10 > > **Vorteile**: I have been a pydio host howler for more than 9 years now, Pydio have always been a pleasure to use until now. > > **Nachteile**: Pydio cells, the push to cells have caused a huge drama, features that have been working flawlessly for many years are now being pushed off a cliff whole they keep pushing users to upgrade to cells. Cells don't have a currently working sync client, some bad issues with file handeling and not easily backed up. A pretty bad situation. > > First 8 years have been a pleasure starting off with ajaxplore moving along fine to pydio and onwards until recently cells release and hard push. I can't give Pydio a bad review tho since it's still in the works, but the early pish was a total flop since so many critical features are not sorted out. If they really wanted to keep the user base, they shouldn't have pushed cells so fast and make the php core still available with longer support and at least release a cells sync client before the hard pushing. ----- ### "Heavy and slow development" — 4.0/5 > **Julien** | *12. What I appreciated the most is the possibility to have it self hosted on our own server. The code is open source. All customizations are possible. > > **Nachteile**: The UI of the self hosted version is not attractive at all. Comparable to Windows 98. There aren't many freelancers or active developers in of the open-source community working on it. The support doesn't answer if you aren't a 3000$ / year customer. Lack of extensions, lack of updates, many bugs on the sync program. > > Our company started production at a very fast rate. In 1 week, we were in need to hire 30 people and start a new branch of our company. We absolutely needed to have a self-hosted solution. Pydio got chosen. Overtime, we saw the shortcomings of it, but couldn't switch in a high production time. We implemented some integrations with the communication platform (Rocket.Chat) we were using. Connecting a chatbot to a mySQL database, to Pydio. Overall, it works fine, but none of our client appreciated the vintage interface and the lack of functionalities. We are considering changing as soon as we adapt our codes for a newer, younger and better platform.
