Kommentare: I have been rolling out Varonis for about 2 weeks now. I like the product and it seems easy to use. Varonis support is amazing. Any issues that I have had, they responded and resolved the issue. So far, most issues have been me not understanding the product. They are training videos and they are easy to follow. The only con is, I wish is the training videos were interactive. It would make the learning part of Varonis more interesting.

Vorteile:

The ability to review file share and that I can roll back if a change breaks permission.

Nachteile:

The training is dry. They do give you PDFs with lab-like activities but then you have to set your test environment to try each section.

Excellent suivi client

Vorteile:

Choisi pour la gestion de l'Annuaire des utilisateurs et des partages réseaux. L'équipe propose un point régulier pour le suivi des points critiques (sur la base d'une analyse) et actions à prévoir.

Nachteile:

Nécessite un investissement conséquent de la part des Administrateurs.

Bait and Switch

Vorteile:

The main dashboard provides a depth of information and the ability to drill down very granularly into whatever information you may be reviewing.

Nachteile:

Company would not discuss pricing until after setting up a POC. Only discussion was that they would "go to bat with the financing department". After a back and forth and overview of the product no official quote was ever given only a general number that worked out to more than $75 per licensed user to use in conjunction with a single service.

DataPrivilege helps organizations manage unstructured data

Kommentare: The automation tools they provide is great because it allows the admins to automatically alter permissions or revoke access depending on predefined rules or policies.

Vorteile:

My institution is able to know who is accessing data, what they are doing with it, and when they accessed it, thanks to DataPrivilege's monitoring and reporting tool.

Nachteile:

I think effective use of the DataPrivilege necessitates knowledge of access control and data security and that makes it important to provide additional training to our IT support team.

Easy Access Requests

Kommentare: Overall, I really like this tool. I like how it's not complicated with features, and has a specific function of requesting access. I wouldn't want to change to anything else.

Vorteile:

My workplace uses Varonis DataPrivilege for our folder and share drive request needs. It's a web tool, and it makes it very easy to identify, select, and request access to an area. This tool is rather basic, but for what we use it for, it is completely sufficient, and doesn't over burden us with unnecessary features.

Nachteile:

We have many shares, and at times, it's not easy to find what we are looking for in the directory tree structure. It would be nice if the searching capabilities were a bit more robust, to look for directories where we know a partial name or if it could do a spell check.
