Excellent software for web data extraction
Kommentare: We use Octoparse for academic and research purposes, and in this regard the program has met all expectations. Likewise, many of my students say that the program is easy to use and have adopted it as a key tool in their work as a key tool to increase their productivity.
Vorteile:
I have been using Octoparse for almost 5 years now and I can confidently say that this is the best program for extracting data from the web without writing a single line of code. Plus, it has an intuitive platform and excellent technical support.
Nachteile:
Despite having a very intuitive interface, it requires several hours of trial and error before you can fully master it. There are also opportunities for improvement in the translation of the interface into Spanish.
My Octoparse Experience
Kommentare: I am using it almost evry day, and I am happy with the maintenance.
Vorteile:
-Quick turnaround when I need assistance for a specific task. -Uninterrupted service.
Nachteile:
1- I would prefer to use input file (csv) as a list in a loop - currently you can only import url list 2- I would prefer use the input file as a local path; so Octoparse would import it automaticall every time I run the task. Currently, I have to import the file manually everytime. It is not feasible.
Unable to Extract Data from Cloudflare Websites
Kommentare: Horrible company. I would not recommend anyone do business with them.
Vorteile:
Nothing. They were unable to solve my business problem. I wanted to parse/scrape a particular website and the Octoparse service was unable to get past the Cloudflare anti-bot technology. I found a competing service that worked much better.
Nachteile:
They were unable to solve my business problem. I wanted to parse/scrape a particular website and the Octoparse service was unable to get past the Cloudflare anti-bot technology. I found a competing service that worked much better. Additionally, they were unwilling to refund the charges made to my credit card, despite their claim they would remind me before making any charges (they did not send any reminders). I contacted them the day of the charges, and they still would not refund me. I had to contest the charges.
Octoparse Data Extraction works!
Kommentare: It has been 5 star. The staff helps and solves issues every time we need them. and we get expert advise when designing our datasets. Best extractor for the money hands down!!
Vorteile:
Ease to test, support is second to none. and I do say that with a background running data services and support with 200 engineers and 150 support staff.
Nachteile:
none that I have run into. the product continues to evolve which is perfect for our needs on a changing basis daily.

Love Octoparse for web scraping and data extraction, really easy tool to use and actually very inexpensive. The UI is easy to navigate and if you run into issues the CS team can look into the issue and provide you with fixes (they told me what code to add and where to fix an issue I was having).
You don't even need any developer or coding experience.
Vorteile:
The ability to parse virtually any website for data and then quickly export and utilize it was great. The scrapes helped identify leads for targeted outreach, usually the research process takes the longest, but Octoparse made it fast and easy. I actually got more than I was looking for
Nachteile:
Downloading the octoparse client onto my own device for the trial period before upgrading made me hesitant, only because I had never heard of octoparse, but I never experienced any issues.
