IDU Review

Kommentare: I would highly recommend this tool to any organisation that is not using it, it has so much capabilities to suit your companies needs. If you need any additional functionality, it is added by IDU.
I am very satisfied with the tool, and I believe it even has more capabilities than what I currently use it for and I intending of using those in the near future. The support from IDU is the best that I have ever encountered compared to any other software I use.

Vorteile:

Since using IDU, it has made budgeting so much simpler. There is no need to keep multiple spreadsheets. You have once central easily accessible tool for all elements of budgeting. The software allows for any additional support one needs to attach for budgeting, and should you need anything you don't have to request from different individuals or locations, the information is all there. Not only does it make it easy to complete the budgeting process but also easy to review as well. It has quite number of features that made the budgeting process seamless, eg If a specific calculation depends on a specific variable, the tool has the functionality to make a change in one place it will automatically pull through in all the other respective dependent calculations.

Nachteile:

Uploading the payroll information for budgeting into IDU, I believe is a bit complex and could be simplified. Note: Updating of the information is easy, but the initial upload.

it is user friendly , once you understand the sytem navigation is easier.

IDU Concept - Ease of Use

Kommentare: IDU has been easy to use with there staff always being helpful to resolve any queries or develop new reporting requirements.

Vorteile:

The ease of use of the system which allows for quick access to actual results and the detailed budget plus gives the ability to add as many forecast that are required. The ability to customize the system for specific reporting needs. The chart and matrix functionality.

Nachteile:

There are no Cons to this system as once training has been given no user should have difficulty.

UCT Feedback

Kommentare: The customer service provided by IDU is excellent. Their staff are always willing to assist and find ways of satisfying the customer needs. The staff are very knowledgable, friendly and quick to respond to queries. Implementation of IDU has definitely improved our budgeting process, and we look forward to now working on the reporting side of it.

Vorteile:

It is web-based so therefore easily accessable. Takes away the need for planning in excel and then transferring those plans to your source system. Minimal clicks to get to where you need to be. Prepopulation of employee data before the budgeting cycle has cut down the time to input employee budgets - the same for depreciation.

Nachteile:

We would like to get to line item detail from a summary cost center group and not have to drill down to each cost center to get to this data. The client must also be able to get to this level and view the total budget in line item format, not only at budget type level.

Empowered managers and improved financial acumen across the organisation

Kommentare: It has been terrific, I am glad I pushed for the implementation of IDU. I look forward to seeing my organisation improve its use and use this tool to manage the changing education environment with valuable information at their finger tips.

Vorteile:

The real time access to financial information across our organisation as changed the financial acumen of all managers, they are more accountable for their actual results. There is increased ownership of budgets. the finance team has seen a decrease in requests for reports and more time for the finance team to send on analysis of results.

Nachteile:

The maintenance of the security access for me cost centers has become a huge task, I believe there are rules which could in place to automate this process. I also find the remuneration and employees section a bit tedious with the amount of duplication in reports.

Experience Review

Kommentare: Very pleased with the system as it reduce preparation time of forecast and budgets for us. The system also allowed us to budget and forecast at a granule level were we where not possible to do it in the past nor in a short time frame. It also increased efficiency as preparation time has moved to reviewing of data.

Vorteile:

The customization of the system, contiguously improvement of the system, Standardization of reports available, version control.

Nachteile:

The complexity of certain functions, like Activity mapping between attributes, etc. Financial Modeling not allowing multiple structure to be used when top down functionality are being used. Not able to have hybird structure within account and cost centre structures.

IDU - is great!!

Kommentare: We had a successful implementation. IDU's customer service is really good. IDU consultants supported us well and IDU staff are solution oriented.

Vorteile:

It intuitive and easy to use. Running reports is quick. It was easy to integrate with our processes.

Nachteile:

There are a number of customised reports and one needs to go through quite a long list to see what is relevant for needs. Perhaps group into headings.

Great budgeting tool!

Kommentare: automated budget tool. this assist the organisation during the budget process

Vorteile:

easy to use as well automated process. the interface with SAP also assist in ensuring that the data we utilise for reporting is accurate.

Nachteile:

I do not have much to report on. We have just introduced the project reporting module. we will provide feedback at a later stage.

IDU - Good management reporting tool

Vorteile:

IDU was able to customize management reports that suited our business and our reporting needs. Reports are easy to interpret and allow for useful comparison to budget/forecast and prior year. IDU integrates well with our financial reporting systems. Excellent customer service received from our consultant.

Nachteile:

System is sometimes slow when having to refresh data and navigate various menus and drill downs, cannot always easily go back to previous screens/views. Some limitations were noted in the PPE budgeting module when loading older assets or assets with significant useful lives as is common in our industry.

CTICC using IDU

Kommentare: IDU has been a very useful tool in the organisation and for myself as it has streamlined the entire budgeting process and the management of it.

Vorteile:

The entire budgeting process is better managed by having each departmental head mange their budget inputs and able to see their changes easily and they can extract it into Excel to make changes and add notes. This allows for better upward review and monitoring of the process. The ability to have whatever reporting structure you want built into teh system or using Excel reports is useful.

Nachteile:

The building of reports and understanding the formulas to use and column references in the reports.

The Best Budgeting Software

Kommentare: With various departments, IDU has assisted with budgetary control - spend monitoring. Looking forward, we hope to have the managers query financial transactions for more accurate management reporting.

Vorteile:

The fact that its excel based makes it easy to use. The user flexibility and customization makes IDU perfect for reporting.

Nachteile:

Still trying to figure out how the CAPEX tracking can work best for our organisation (reporting especially). If IDU can have the ability to assist in CAPEX spend tracking it will be superb.

Vorteile:

Product is easy to use, and i love that it can easily export into excel

Nachteile:

Admin could be easier to navigate, especially when a company structure changes

Kommentare: The benefits of IDU if rolled out properly in the organisation can optimize processes within the Finance office. IDU assists managers in making up to date and informed decisions.

Vorteile:

The fact that the system is excel based. I can customize the presentation of the financial information to managers understanding.

Nachteile:

The dashboards should allow for more customization to project user beneficial information. The CAPEX budgeting and tracking could be improved.

Finance information now has integrity

Kommentare: Definitely improved our integrity as the finance department.
In our current loss of info, analytics developed by IDU came to the rescue as it stored all info from prior years to future forecasts.

Vorteile:

It enhances the integrity of financial information by eliminating manual intervention Better storage of information Simplifies the budgeting, forecasting and reporting functions

Nachteile:

There is no option to create standard reports for various users Inability to copy and paste or duplicate activities for some functions

Using the IDU Budgeting Software

Kommentare: For years the budgets were done on an Excel Spreadsheet. With 3 Companies, multiple divisions and about 9 branches, it was a constant nightmare to keep everything in sync. Spreadsheet were send to branch managers to modify. These spreadsheets were then sent back for finance to incorporate it into the main spreadsheet, Sometimes there were multiple versions of the spreadsheets and just maintaining the Main spreadsheet was a challenge. Using IDU now allows all users to work on the budgeting software at the same time. Costs that cannot be broken down into IDU are done on a spreadsheet and referred to from within IDU. The time it now takes to complete the budgets has drastically reduced. Comparisons to live data as well as the past year makes complete sense when users are trying to complete their budgets.

A great consolidation platform

Kommentare: idu-Concept is a great tool, it is user friendly and changes are quickly implemented.

Vorteile:

I like the ability to compare budget versus actuals. It is a great consolidation platform.

Nachteile:

There is nothing that i dislike about this product.

The thing i like most about idu-Concept is how easy it is to use!

I can't think of something that i like least.

Budgeting / Forecasting

Kommentare: Budgeting has been made easy.

Vorteile:

Easy to use. Can be used by all the Budget holders at the same time.

Nachteile:

Need to improve the Budget reporting. I must be able to create my own reports.

You have the ability to modify the layout and it populates actuals which helps with analysis.

New at this!

Kommentare: We needed a budgeting and reporting tool to take away all the manual creation of spreadsheets. The client module is great and so easy to use. The admin module has proved challenging in terms of understanding the reporting structures, correctly setting permissions as it seems one tick box in one place doesn't over ride another in a different section. Getting buy in from the team to actually use the system is the most challenging part of it all.

Vorteile:

The client module. It is really straightforward and user friendly

Nachteile:

The admin module and permission settings

Simple to use product with lots of flexibility to do slice and dice information how you want to see it. Staff are extremely helpful and always willing to help or look at different ways to do things

Nachteile:

Haven't had any issues worth noting with the product of vendoe

Review of IDU

Kommentare: IDU Budget Concept is a tool that helped us be able to view actuals from our Sage ERP against Budget. The tool has good segregation of data such that you only view the cost centre you are entitled to. It is a great product. It however,just like other software solutions, requires to be introduced carefully in an organisation with good training and refresher training for high acceptance of the software by many users in an organisation.

Vorteile:

The Software is ease to use and has an appealing User Interface.

Nachteile:

- Custom reports are not so easy to design - You always have to rely on the Consultants

Kommentare: I get the most value from IDU based on the consistency it provides and the fact that everything is standard.
The ease of pulling reports with different summary levels is beneficial as well.
