Aha! is an excellent product management system

Kommentare: A very user-friendly and straightforward interface. It's fantastic that a single platform can be used to oversee everything from product to service management to strategic planning to operational reporting.

Vorteile:

A fantastic tool for project managers to use as a roadmap organizer. The ideas are fantastic, and the integration with Jira at the tactical level of engineering is functioning smoothly. Additional sophisticated features, such as various business modules, aid in the strategic direction of PM.

Nachteile:

It's odd that there aren't any external roadmap samples or case studies available from the makers of one of the greatest roadmap products in the world to aid with the design of your personal external roadmap.

Powerful and flexible (tread with care)

Kommentare: For all it's flaws, I love this product. It lets me do what I want, how I want (and I can be quite demanding).

Vorteile:

The best thing about this product is the huge flexibility resulting from the degree of customisation that is available. This is dangerous if mishandled, obviously, but in a company where processes are evolving, it has allowed me to accommodate all manner of requests and requirements.

Nachteile:

The UI can be a little inconsistent. Many features are paywalled; I'm constantly being upsold as if I'm on a freemium version. Some of the tools are a little unloved (text editing is clunky and unreliable, some presentation tools lack flexibility). And navigation isn't the smoothest.

Vorteile:

Cool logo. Good space to house personas and competitor analysis.

Nachteile:

In the initial onboarding process I would contact customer support for clarity, seeing as how I've never used such a software. I had one phone call, fairly short. I was later tasked with sole responsibility for the software - evangelizing and coaching others on how to use it. When I reached out to support for more clarity, the reps did EVERY possible not to get on a call with me. They would email me back every other day - directing me to instructional videos - refusing to get on the phone. I needed to integrate with Jira, "Please HELP!!??"- guess what? "We have some videos that can help you. Awful support. As well, not very user friendly, not customizable, and just down right inferior cosmetically.

Never going back to Jira

Kommentare: Fantastic overall. So impressed with the product, as well as the service. Would definitely recommend.

Vorteile:

Very powerful software, and almost no learning curve compared to Jira. So much more intuitive despite having a ton of advanced capabilities. I especially love how easy it is to share information with non-users, without having to manually update spreadsheets or slide decks.

Nachteile:

The Roadmaps pricing is a bit steep, but the Develop pricing is affordable enough that it makes up for it.

Powerful and customizable solution for PMs with a steep learning curve

Vorteile:

Aha Ideas provides flexibility, security, and automation, allowing us to interact with customers at scale in a fashion that fits our business. Aha Roadmaps+ offers a very compelling product planning tool that integrates directly with our Jira instance. Aha regularly updates both products with new and compelling features. Aha also reaches out on a regular basis to check in, showcase new things, and troubleshoot any issues we're having.

Nachteile:

The seat-based licensing model prevents us from fully adopting Aha Roadmaps as our standard planning tool. Doing so would require our program managers, engineering managers, and designers to have paid seats. Also, as with other highly customizable tools, it's very confusing for the uninitiated. We've had to create extensive internal documentation for onboarding new product managers. Finally, we've been asking for a SOC2 report for years, Aha hasn't been willing to undertake this (ISO27001 is not equivalent).

Great Customer Service

Kommentare: Our customer support experience was great. The product is extremely sophisticated, and offers a wide range of functionalities for companies that are looking to have all teams in one space.

Vorteile:

Although we did not move forward with Aha as our solution, we had a wonderful experience with the Customer Support and Product Team. They were extremely supportive and helpful, and they were very gracious when meeting with us. We decided to go with another solution because of our unique and specific need; this was not caused by a bad experience or lack of functionality.

Nachteile:

There are some features in Aha - Ideas that we were looking for.

Aha takes product roadmapping to the next level

Best customer service, hands down!

Kommentare: Aha! is so robust. I am learning so much, but it is already making a great impact on the transparency that we needed with our team. Having watchers on projects and activities and the ability to tag anyone that's just a viewer or reviewer is fantastic! We manage over 100 events a year and more than 40 sales people, so keeping them in the loop with our progress is great. It's helping us get out of some paper/e-doc templates that we can now have built into our project card templates so all information can be entered there for ease of reference. I believe that we can pull reports on any field as well. The presentation and reporting features offer a lot. It's a matter of us determining the best views for our team. Their customer service team is outstanding! They respond super fast and are always helpful. They will get on a quick 30 minute call to talk through and walk through issues to empower you to get it right! I know I'm driving them bonkers right now with so many questions.

Vorteile:

Aha! allows you to tie higher level goals to initiatives that can dial down to the most granular level. We wanted the capability to pull reports for our C-level executives to see what we're working on and our previous project management system didn't have that as an option.

Nachteile:

We also loved the workflow features, however there's a little snag in the way we need to visually see our activities and tasks so, unfortunately, right now they don't have the capability to have a true workflow (phases and milestones) tied in with our processes because they get buried in the top level schedule/project. Since we work in the marketing world, our processes are different than the product release projects. If we could have the phases and milestones as a part of the activities so that if we push back the project (schedule) date or postpone in the status field that it would push back all assigned dates accordingly - that would be ideal. Right now, we are managing manually... The notifications are another issue. There's a LOT of notifications that come through my email on a daily basis. Even though I have it set to a daily and weekly digest on each workspace, I still receive too many emails for every task completed or created in projects that I follow. But I don't get an email when somebody comments on something, I have to go to my notifications for that. The my work view is really robust as well. Once you get the hang of where you need to look, it's helpful. However, the naming convention of the records doesn't allow you to know right away which task is tied to a particular project, so we're trying to make sure that we title the tasks and activities accordingly - but that's tough to do manually for project templates with generic tasks.

Warum Aha! gewählt wurde: We needed transparency, a department wide overview of all projects and campaigns that we could easily share with the powers that be. There was little project management capabilities that truly helped the team move campaigns forward - so the robustness of Aha! takes care of that and so much more! Now we have a birds eye view of every detail of what we do.

Best Idea Management Software

Works as expected

The layout of the sprint and features is really well done. I do enjoy the look of AHA vs other competitors that I have used. It’s really easy to use and the mobile app is a nice feature.

Nachteile:

I really don’t care for the search functionality of AHA. I think that I don’t always find things in the way I search or use keywords. A keyword might be in a ticket but it isn’t always found.

Loads of customization, but best suited to big enterprises and too expensive for the value it brings

Kommentare: Initially, we wanted a system where our ideas could be linked to our features. We looked at a few options at that time and Jira discovery had no yet come out and we thought Aha would be best even though it was very expensive. After trying to use it for a year, and the additional cost of more seats for when our team grew it really hasn't been the best fit for us. Our team has found it cumbersome and we don't use all the additional functionality it provides. After our account renewal I did ask the team for a refund and to cancel our subscription, but the aha team were unwilling to consider providing a pro-rata refund.

Vorteile:

I liked the quick responses from the support team and the fact that the ideas were linked to the boards and roadmap planning.

Nachteile:

We currently use Jira and found the separate workflow and webhook added an additional layer to our work processes without adding a lot of value. We also found the system far too overcomplicated for our small start up needs. It would be great for a big enterprise with loads of processes, however we prefer and quick and easy product workflow without all the formalities and steps that Aha is created for.

Great customer support

Tech support is excellent and fast.The integration with JIRA is very powerful, once set up.

Nachteile:

It's hard to find and create reports. The "Ideas" tab is confusing since it's similarly named to the "AHA Ideas" portal.

Most valuable tool for me as PO in customer projects

Vorteile:

The roadmapping, release planning and feature boards.

Nachteile:

The price tag is deterring the organisation to adapt it fully.

Aha for Product Management

Kommentare: It is quite powerful, and learning will take some time. Overall, quite impressed with the tool.

Vorteile:

It is very visual, don't need a separate tool for workflows, folks can work on something together, love the whiteboards.

Nachteile:

There is a huge learning curve, can get quite complex, whiteboards need more options like lucid charts, white boards don't maintain zoom level when you go back to it.

Roadmapping

Kommentare: The online ideas portal is very easy and convenient to use. The product structure for portfolio management takes some time and energy to invest in, but once set it is very powerful and easy to use.

Vorteile:

AHA! is a perfect tool for product roadmapping from ideas to shipped releases.

Nachteile:

There are quite a lot of features in AHA! that are too overwhelming to use

Best product Road mapping tool

Kommentare: Aha! is easy to use, it is a full featured product development and road mapping tool it most scalable system compared to other systems, Overall we enjoyed using Aha!

It is easy to use and most scalable and efficient system compared to other systems, this tool allow us to assign tasks to members

The user interface and graphics are little bad, It having some difficulties of initiating product features

Where would we be without Aha!

Kommentare: I have been using Aha! for approximately 8 years and implemented at 2 different organizations. Support is top notch and I would highly recommend this software for any Product Owner/Manager.

Vorteile:

The interface and UI are very intuitive. We are able to use this for 3rd party application releases as well as internal dev team roadmaps.

Nachteile:

No enterprise licensing is available and the license cost per full user is a bit high.

Used Aha ! to communicate back with my Product managers

Vorteile:

I like the separation of ideas and features, compared to other tools in which all feature suggestions are created in the same way, in aha features are first suggested as IDEAs and the PM promotes them. It was very easy to track features that were promoted and getting notified for features being too long in the backlog.

Nachteile:

The integration to Salesforce was bad, I ended up creating ideas directly instead of creating them from salesforce as I should have as a CSM. Furthermore, the main drawback of Aha is that you don't manage bugs or development in it unlike SCM tools or Jira (bitBucket) which makes Aha! an expensive tool since it's used only for PMs and there is a limit to the number of dashboards one can track when my developers managed bugs and code in Git.
