Customer Service is Next Level Awsome!
Kommentare: Really, after dealing with POS systems for 36 years, CAKE is by far the best that I have ever experienced. They work hard to understand my problems. I talked to rep ([sensitive content hidden]) the other day because we had a online ordering glitch that he needed to refer to the next level. The problem got solved quickly by the next team. [sensitive content hidden] called me this morning to check and make sure that the problem was taken care of! Outstanding!!
Vorteile:
I recently started using CAKE - 1) Setting up the system is ridiculously easy. I'm 61 years old and was able to set up our store with little instruction. 2) When I did need help, the customer service was always outstanding. I have been in business for 36 years and I can honestly say that CAKE customer service is the best I have ever experienced!
Nachteile:
There are a few things I wish it had - like notifications that the customer has arrived for curbside pickup.

Overall a Good Product with Excellent Customer Support
Vorteile:
The customer support staff has always been great. I have been a CAKE user for 6 or 7 years now. I spent 3 Hours on the phone yesterday with [sensitive content hidden] , who informed me at the end of the call that he was supposed to get off work at 4pm. I called at 3:55pm and he gave me his best efforts, a great attitude, and he genuinely wanted to help me troubleshoot the issues we were experiencing. The only reason I am writing this review is to give [sensitive content hidden] a shout out!
Nachteile:
There are a few fundamental aspects that most restaurants do, such as happy hour, and CAKE is not designed well for special pricing without creating duplicate items with the discounted prices, and a "happy hour" menu separate from the standard POS menu. It works, but it would be better if an item could have multiple prices based on certain times of day.

Switching over to cake was a great move for my restaurant

Compared to the other POS systems I have used over the years, this is by far, the most user friendly POS system I have used! I love the mobile access, which allows me to view & edit timesheets & menu from home

The cord for the card reader isn't as tight & secure as it should be, so the card reader disconnects

Value, Function, and Top Notch Customer Service
Kommentare: We were so thankful at how easy it was to activate online ordering. Our customers feel confident providing their credit card information through a secure system, and we love that we can remove items from the online system from our POS when we run out of a certain special. We appreciate the way the user dashboard online is simple to navigate and provides a clean pie-chart or graph style analysis of our sales, popular items, labor vs. income, etc. Those graphic visuals are invaluable when we are quickly checking in during a busy shift to see where our numbers are. We have a wide range of literacy comfort levels at our restaurant and we feel like our employees are all able to navigate the system easily and effectively. We think that is important from an accessibility standpoint.
Vorteile:
We switched to CAKE from another POS system in 2016, after being in operation for 1.5 years. We have been impressed with the way CAKE constantly tries to provide new features. As a farm-to-table quick-service restaurant, our menu changes weekly and we find it simple and straightforward to make updates each week. Due to COVID-19, we recently activated the online ordering and we believe it has saved our business. We were able to activate and integrate it quickly and we love the reporting capabilities the system gives us. Our customer service has been top notch--from our sysco rep to our CAKE customer support manager, we have received a quick response to any question we've had. We feel very comfortable requesting new features and integrations based on our needs and we feel like they really listen to us and try to incorporate our ideas quickly and simply. We did not have this level of customer support with our previous POS system and we really value being able to get a live person on the phone quickly and easily when we have an issue. We love the intuitive, easy-to-read sales analysis reports and use them each week with our management team to evaluate our menu items and determine our next round of specials. We really like that we can make menu edits both on the POS and with the online platform---hoping for a mobile app next for very quick and simple edits!
Nachteile:
We first purchased in Spring 2016. The software felt a little sluggish and honestly, we were not sure if it would easily keep up with our pace. But we have been very impressed with CAKE's constant evaluation and roll-out of new features and integrations--they haven't missed a beat! We don't use all the features yet, but because of the recent success with our online activation, we are now considering two more apps. I would prefer a tiered/capped monthly pricing system depending on how many apps/additional software platforms we integrate (like accounting, customer management, 3rd party delivery apps, etc)--rather than installing each a-la carte, but hopefully that will be an option in the future. The additional monthly fee per app has made us hesitant to try new ones. We would also like to have more control over the look and feel of the online ordering page--functionally it meets our needs, but would love to integrate it into our own website and select the background color, text color, etc, to make it feel like a seamless integration rather than making our customers feel like they are "leaving" our site to go to another. There are some features/edits that are only available from the POS system (not menu items, but system preferences/settings categories) In the future, I hope they make those features editable from the online access platform as well, because sometimes I want the flexibility of making certain adjustments from home on my computer during off-hours.

Started out as a great solution but something has changed
Kommentare: Started out great but the recent missed credit card deposits are alarming and there seems to be a breakdown in communication internally. Might be the transition over to madmobile but something is going on. As a business owner shopping for a POS solution, I would give this time to see where this goes before jumping in. I'm in the process of shopping for a possible new solution.
Vorteile:
Very easy to use and robust. Great reporting and features.
Nachteile:
We are experiencing multiple instances of our credit card deposits not depositing on the days that they are contracted to deposit from Cake and it has impacted payments to vendors and payroll. There almost seems to be an disconnect between support and understanding the very real problem that this presents to a small businesses.

Kommentare: Customer service has been great. very timely with call backs, good follow-up, etc. system is easy to use, easy to set up from the admin side. our staff likes it. Most of the major issues we've encountered are in the process of being improved for better functionality, per our requests and discussions with our account representative.
Vorteile:
Ease of use. Ability to access admin features directly from the terminal ( i used to have to go to the main computer to do anything on our old system. stock counts are nice and easy to use.
Nachteile:
a handful of tiny things that annoy me, but nothing major or worth even bringing up here.

Great, easy to use, system.
Kommentare: Customer service is always great and has answers quickly. I have had little interruption with service at all. It's the 3rd POS I have used within my business, and it is by far my favorite.
Vorteile:
The reporting system is great. I appreciate being able to access information in real time from an off site location.
Nachteile:
Not in love with the organization of my screen. Seems for some items there is a lot of buttons to push. Would like a "best sellers" screen as a home screen, would also like the extra fee features to be able to default to off and have employees use it as needed.

Kommentare: We love using our Mad Mobile Restaurant POS. It has made processing orders easy and seamless.
Vorteile:
What I love most about this software is that it is super user friendly. We are able to constantly update our ever changing menu with ease. We can also access real time reports from anywhere and the customer service is outstanding.
Nachteile:
There are no problems that I have encountered with this system.
Very happy with product and service
Kommentare: Very positive experience. Our sales rep [SENSITIVE CONTENT] was incredibly thorough and did a great job with comparisons and pricing. We felt comfortable with our decision to go with CAKE. Our onboarding specialist [SENSITIVE CONTENT] did a great job and walked us through any difficulties as we learned and installed. Our Customer Success Manager [SENSITIVE CONTENT] has been awesome! Anytime there was a question with our billing he was in contact with us immediately and was patient as he walked us through items and handled them quickly.
Vorteile:
System had the features we needed. It was easy to understand, implement and train staff on. Setup for menu, items and pricing as easy to understand and implement.
Nachteile:
As a small coffee shop, we dont have the need for some of the items within the bundle. CAKE University is great. Only drawback was it can't always breakdown some questions. Inventory management section could use a better training piece but since every business is different this may not be doable.
Cake as a POS solution for restaurant or small business
Kommentare: Support was excellent the first year or so and during negotiation of renewing our contract but has completely fallen off since then. We have had a few issues in the last week and calling their emergency number just put us on hold for 10 minutes and then automatic disconnect more than 5 times. One of those times was when credit card processing was not working at all which was a huge impact to our business. I did eventually figure it out but a support person probably could have helped fix within a few minutes.
Vorteile:
Company was very supportive helping onboarding and setting up. Pricing was reasonable for equipment (and discounts to start up). Setting up the system is a little complex but fairly intuitive.
Nachteile:
There is no easy way to re-use different items where you can change a "master" which updates all of that item. Also, reporting is complex (or even non-existent) without very knowledgeable person to download to excel and spend hours manipulating. Cake does not allow third party payment integration (although was one of their selling points). Many features like inventory management, gift cards, etc all come with extra fees and some substantial. Porting to Quickbooks is too complex as well.
Cake support and management assistance
Kommentare: Overall the system has assisted in staffing better, seeing trends with sales, reports are continuously being improved. Easy to update menu pricing and item changes. Great system for table waits, using text to notify guest table is ready is easier. Monitoring table times allowing us to see where weaknesses are. Up to date information regarding the sales, labor and comp, refunds, voids, staff errors. Everything is in one easy report.
Vorteile:
Easy to use, 24 hour support, customer services is exceptional, constantly working on improving the system and uses the customers feedback in assisting to redesign and implement changes
Nachteile:
With the support team so far away it is sometimes difficult to pin point the base of the system problem. Especially through phone conversations. Recently we had a Pos terminal go and it would enter things units own. It was extremely difficult to capture the incidents while it happened. Sometimes you can't capture the problem through a video or it just would stop when on the phone with support team. The problem went on for a month. Cake was outstanding and replaced the terminal free of charge for a one time customer courtesy.
