Kommentare: I have been very pleased with the level of support I have received. In particular, Wagepoint did a great job solving an issue after the recent transition in November 2020 out of "QBO advanced payroll."

Vorteile:

I am grateful for the automatic export of journal entries to QBO and the employee classing features which help a lot with management accounting and generating reports.

Nachteile:

The setup is a bit challenging and the price is a bit steep for my smaller clients.

My Favourite Software

Kommentare: I have been using Wagepoint for as long as it has been around so at least more than 5 years. Their customer service and tech support is outstanding when I need it. Most of the service I needed is not issues with the software, rather support for client issues. There have never been issues with software itself.

Vorteile:

Wagepoint is easy to set up, easy to navigate, and processes everything for the user compared to other products. No need to file and pay source deductions or calculate WSIB. The customer service is prompt and extremely knowledgeable.

Nachteile:

It's really hard to say. There are none.

Simplify payroll processing

Kommentare: I have been using Wagepoint for nearly two years and the system has been reliable, straightforward and any time I've needed support it has been a great experience. It seems Wagepoint knows how to give their staff members the training and tools they need to be successful. Keep up the good work, Wagepoint!

Great Customer Support!

Kommentare: Overall we've had a great experience with Wagepoint. The customer support is always able and willing to help and if you prefer a phone call, they are happy to oblige, which can be rare in today's terrible customer support environment. The price point is also perfect for a small business, such as ours. I like how they have your back in terms of notifications and ensuring your completing tasks on time. Super helpful for price wise for smaller companies and for those who may not have a seasoned or strong payroll background.

Vorteile:

Wagepoint is easy to use and most of all, I like the customer support. The price point is also perfect for smaller companies. The notifications are super helpful, especially if you are not super familiar with HR/Payroll processes.

Nachteile:

If I had to say something here, I would suggest that the UI isn't really trendy or visually pleasing. It looks a bit outdated. But it's totally manageable and user friendly, its just not cute.

Wagepoint Is On Point!

Kommentare: Overall Wagepoint is one of my favourite payroll systems to run payroll. It is very user friendly and the support is usually very responsive and agents are happy to help.

Nachteile:

Wagepoint reports can sometime be a little wonky and I've had some trouble with ROEs in the past but support has always been readily available to help me resolve any issues.

Kommentare: I'm very happy with Wagepoint and glad that we use it! When I have had a question or something I didn't understand Support have been superb with their replies. They normally reply well within the 24 hours that is stated, and not only answer my concerns or questions but help me to verify for myself.

Vorteile:

All of the processes are very easy to do, from adding an employee to doing payroll. I also love that I am able to do employee's ROE easily and all my taxes etc are paid, along with WSIB. It takes alot of the stress out of my job!

Nachteile:

At this moment, I can't think of any cons. All that I've done within Wagepoint has been easily done.

Top Canadian Option for Payroll

Kommentare: It is the only payroll software I use for my clients and is the recommendation I make to others when consulting on payroll software. Wagepoint is a great company with incredible people. In the past 18 months I have been using Wagepoint I have had nothing but incredible service and happy clients.

Vorteile:

Customer support is incredibly fast, efficient and knowledgeable. Product is easy to use and thus my recommendation for small business owner's doing their own payroll. Reports are better visually than other payroll providers. Great value for money.

Nachteile:

I don't like the prefill on the stat holiday calculation based on 1/28. In reality stat holidays are bit trickier to calculate in Alberta than a straight formula.

Great app for Small Businesses needing payroll with a lot of autmation

Easy to navigate and use. Easy to setup and roll out.

Nachteile:

There could be better reports. The ability to correct the CRA BN is crucial, yet the support says it's not possible. Email only support needs to be improved. Companies like mine should be able to have a telephone number for a dedicated support team / person.

To the Point

Kommentare: Every day use is quick and easy and only takes seconds to input hours. Super useful and easy access to paystubs and T4's as well as employment info.

Vorteile:

So easy to use and browser usage and localized employment info.

Nachteile:

The App starts off with having a Pin set up for access, and no way to change said pin or set a new one Via the Browser.

The epitome of getting what you pay for

Kommentare: The customer service is atrocious; I have an email chain documenting unimaginable buffoonery. The height of their incompetence would be hilarious on a show like The Office:
I emailed to confirm they weren't making tax filings for a quarter (as I was in the process of transitioning to a competent service). They left me a voicemail that unfortunately the filing had already been made because apparently I hadn't clicked the proper toggle on the website, even though I'd requested from customer service several months earlier that the filings be suspended. I asked to have the filings emailed to me immediately to confirm what was filed. They refused, saying it would be posted to my account within a few days (but after the filing deadline, of course).
When the filings still weren't posted by then, I asked where they were. Another rep responded that they were under the impression I didn't want the filings made, so they hadn't been done. If I'd like the filing done, they would - but charge me $75 since it was a $0-filing.
I called and reached a receptionist who claimed he could only take a message and was unable to transfer me to a human being. Roughly a day later, a 3rd company rep emailed to report they'd made the filing (for free bc of the "confusion" but w/o actually consulting me on how I wanted to handle the situation). When asked how they planned to address the late-filing penalties, they warned that the responsibility for timely filings was "ultimately" mine. Are you kidding me?

Vorteile:

I was initially attracted to (and eventually chose) this payroll provider for its simplistic cost structure: $22/payroll with all tax filings included. That turned out to be false - if you don't run any payrolls in a quarter, the cost for literally filing a bunch of $0s more than triples to $75. Additionally, I initially liked what I thought was a straightforward and user-friendly interface. That also ended up being false, with the clunky functionality not allowing for granularity such specifying which filings to make in a quarter or personalizing reports.

Nachteile:

It's incredibly clunky, unable to be personalized and reports seem designed to be confusing and not align with each other. Want to specify that a tax filing not be made with one agency this quarter? Too bad; it's all or nothing. Want to compare quarterly tax filings with payroll reports? Sorry; they're formatted completely differently and unable to be modified. Want just a comprehensive year-end report? Sure, but that'll cost you upwards of $100. Additionally, the reports failed to indicate my corporate FICA contributions, so I almost missed taking that substantial deduction.

Easy to use and convenient

Kommentare: Wagepoint has increased our communications surrounding HR and payroll, removing a barrier to paystubs for employees

Vorteile:

As an employee, I find Wagepoint a convenient tool for accessing my paystubs at any time, while also receiving an email notification when it's been ready to be viewed. It has an easy-to-use portal that allows you to update your banking details and personal information at any time too.

Nachteile:

I really like the simplicity of this software, but I wish there was an app for mobile phones as well

Best Payroll Service out there!

Kommentare: I can rely on Wagepoint to be able to process payroll efficiently and accurately on a daily basis. If I need help, the support team is there to answer any of my questions and or solve anything that is out of the ordinary.

Vorteile:

We are a mid-size accounting and bookkeeping firm and payroll is a large part of our services for both Canadian and US payroll. Wagepoint is the most efficient, easy to use, cost-effective and accurate payroll service on the market. The reporting is great and the support team is fantastic! I never have to worry about payroll processing. Our clients love that the employees have their own log on to retrieve paystubs and annual T-slips and W-2 slips. Overall - best quality payroll service out there!

Nachteile:

None so far and I have used this service over 3 years!

Lack of Response Regarding Quarterly Unemployment Tax Payment

Kommentare: Has been satisfactory until this matter came up. Now we have not received return calls, responses to emails nor have we been able to speak with a live person who can assist. We have been advised there is no other way to reach out directly to a person. We have been in touch with the State department employee for nearly 2 weeks who advised us today that she has not heard from anyone at WagePoint regarding this. We notified them of the issue nearly 2 weeks ago and I was informed that someone at WagePoint would take care of it and also had connected with the State department this week. The State employe advised me today that she has not spoken with anyone other than us. The lack of responsiveness and inaccurate information is unacceptable and of major concern to any company. We will resolve this matter ourselves to avoid further adverse action by the State department .

Vorteile:

Ease of use, perfect for small to medium size companies. Fit our needs initially.

Nachteile:

The lack of accurate and timely updates on a critical matter that could result in a levy to our property due to late payment of payroll taxes by WagePoint!

RUN RUN RUN AWAY

Kommentare: Terrible. Spend an extra 5-10 per month and go with a company that will actually help you out. I have done payroll for over 20 years. Ive done it by hand and have used other companies. I decided to try to save some money and went with wagepoint. BIG mistake and ended up costing me more. I had an issue on one of my end of year forms that needed to get fixed. simple fix. or should have been but getting a hold of someone that knew what needed to be done and then actually getting them to do it was a nightmare. On top of that they charged me $400 to have it done. Fine, I paid it. It was partially my fault. They were supposed to make all the corrections and make the corrections so it wouldnt happen again. NOPE!. Shame on me I continued to use them for the next year. Lo and behold the next year the same thing happens and then they want to charge me again to have it fixed when I already paid them to fix it the first time and they never made the changes. OMG I am fuming mad writing this review. They make me so angry, and I am not an angry person. PLEASE do yourself a favor and go with someone that will actually help you out and not try to rip you off and charge you twice for something.

Vorteile:

price is the only good thing about their service. Despite the price I would never ever recommend this service to someone. The customer service TERRIBLE. Don't ever expect a phone call back.

Nachteile:

Zip, zero, zilch customer service. The customer service terrible. The user interface is not very good either.

Great for founders

Vorteile:

I LOVE Wagepoint. I can't imagine having to do all this stuff myself - entrepreneurs shouldn't be spending time on things like getting all the accountys right, worrying if they've made the correct filings with the government etc. My employee (hopefully making that plural, soon) loves it too, and he is not easily impressed by UX/UI.

Nachteile:

The only think is that with the Xero integration, the reports don't export automatically. So, every two weeks, I have to go in and push a few buttons to send it to Xero. Honestly, not that big of a deal, and still way better than any alternative, but it will be awesome when they add that automation.

Great product!

Vorteile:

I really like the ease of setting up a payroll to run and how simple it is to pay hourly and salaried staff. Updating employee data is simple. I also like that a GL can be assigned to particular earnings or deductions. I also like getting the confirmation email after the payroll has been submitted as a peace of mind to know that it's been processed. Customer support, although only through email, is amazingly fast and often resolve an issue within two messages. Integration with other timesheet apps is easy and makes processing payroll that much faster. The online support documents are helpful when you need a high level or quick answer to a question.

Nachteile:

I find the reporting is very limited - it would be nice to create a custom report with specific parameters, as well as a choice of output options on the report. Some reports are only available in a pdf format, which is not always the best option. I also find mapping the chart of accounts for accounting integration is difficult and it is almost impossible to find where an error is without involving assistance from Customer Service.

I hope the deductions can be imported in the near future. I like the earnings import function.

One of the Best Payroll Softwares

Kommentare: Wagepoint is very easy to use and has always provide the most accurate info and reporting. Not only is it an amazing payroll software but their customer support is the best I've ever seen. I never have to worry about running into problems because I know that they will respond quickly and help me resolve and issues I have.

Vorteile:

This software is extremely user friendly, it provides reminder emails, I am able to customize payroll and the deductions needed, and the customer support is the best I have ever experienced.

Nachteile:

I do not have any complaints with this software. On the rare occasion that i have an issue, their customer support if on top of it. I never have to wait and always receive a quick response.
