I love Goverlan......

Kommentare: Overall I have been using Goverlan now for 4 years, and of all the products I have tried out, Goverlan is the best.

Vorteile:

I like everything about Goverlan pretty much. I like the fact that I can deploy software remotely, connect to machines remotely, connect to Workgroup added machines, see all the details about a connected machine, add printers remotely, see file folders, run DOS Commands. It is just a great product for an IT Admin to monitor machines.

Nachteile:

I wish there was more reporting. I also wish I could see everything grabbing an IP address off my DHCP Server. DHCP Integration would be great.

Value for the Money

Kommentare: Positive across the board.

Vorteile:

The agent deployment options are very robust and allow us to use different polices with different endpoints.

Nachteile:

Initial setup was a steep learning curve. However there customer support for setup was 5 of 5.

Solid Product!

Kommentare: Solid product - This is our go to product for supporting our users.

Vorteile:

The ability to quickly connect to remote users and offer a quality tech support experience.

Nachteile:

Sometimes we struggle with users that have 3 displays(about 20 of our users). The content from each of the displays often times does not load. We have not had a problem with 2 remote displays. We will see if this is improved in the latest 9.50.02.1032 version.

Best remote tool

Vorteile:

This remote tool is my go to remote tool. It is consistent and works the best.

Nachteile:

I have not figured out how to change default that disables end user control when I remote into device.

GoverLAN Reach

Kommentare: Support tool for remote servers (CoLo and Remote Sites), End user support, System setup without leaving office. Simple to use and user friendly.

Vorteile:

Easy to use and connect to clients by machineID or UserID, copy and paste, and simple file transfers, great management tools and background scripts available also

Nachteile:

Does require direct IP, when using VPN sometimes have to use IP rather than hostname or username, easy to get around though...

Must have for ITSM world

Kommentare: I have been working with this product over 20 years in my IT career. Every company I bring it to thanks me for introducing this product it really helps with service management teams.

Vorteile:

I can easily navigate AD reset passwords, remote PC’s. Reporting. Just to name a few of this very capable product

Nachteile:

Not a biggie, but would love to see more with windows patching incorporated into the product

Amazing! Love it!

Kommentare: Saved us a ton of time in supporting our remote users.

Vorteile:

Goverlan has made our IT Department much more efficient. We have about 16 sites and it has saved us countless hours from having to drive around and fix issues that take a few seconds to fix. Also, we can fix things before the user knows there is an issue.

Nachteile:

My only thing I don't like is the agent deployed to the end user devices do not auto update when a new version is released.

Excellent Remote Support Tool

Kommentare: Goverlan Reach is very effective in managing remote teams. With this tool, we can deploy software and applications, monitor the health status of computers ad other devices, spot critical issues and fix them quickly. Goverlan helps us ensure client's business continuity and minimal service downtimes.

Vorteile:

The software enables us to easily access remote system and unattended machines to provide assistance to remote teams and users over the internet. We can easily query local user groups, manage their accounts and perform other operations like installations, password resets and other modifications. You can initiate VoIP chat sessions, remote desktop access sessions and record them for future reference.

Nachteile:

You need an expert to set up the software. Asides that, the software offers real value for companies, IT managers and more.

Much needed upgrade our our current remote administration platform

Kommentare: The sales and support teams worked well together and with us to conduct remote recorded training sessions that addressed the areas we required. Their security related documentation went a long way towards answering questions about the product's security features and customization.

Vorteile:

The client install across a large number of PCs is very easy to manage. The support team has been very responsive in assisting us to roll out the server portion of the product in stages.

Nachteile:

The product is reliant on DNS refreshes at the local PC level where a console is running. We've found it to be a bit delayed in catching up to a PC's IP address changing (from VPN to Wi-FI or vice versa). for example.

Good remote management software

Kommentare: My overall experience with Goverlan is positive. By providing powerful remote management tools within the software that are just as good as Microsoft's own tools, as well as the ability to create shortcuts to other external third party tools, Goverlan has saved me a massive amount of time doing mundane tasks like switching windows and opening other tools and utilities.

Vorteile:

The software's is overall easy to use, while retaining a lot of functionality. The setup is straightforward and simple, and the UI is intuitive and responsive.

Nachteile:

It's only available for 64-bit systems, and the software only supports windows, not OS X, ChromeOS or Linux.

Excellent management software for a domain

Vorteile:

When I was working Help Desk, I used the remote console several times a week (sometimes several times a day). It's a great tool and vastly superior to RDP, since you can work on the remote machine while a user watches or works as well, plus you can log off and log back on as an admin or other user. You can even restart a PC with nobody attending it - the software automatically reconnects on reboot so you can log in again. The other management tools include remote command prompts and remote installation/configuration of PCs... more features than I had time to play with but everything I did use was robust and logical.

Nachteile:

There is definitely a learning curve to get facility with the software. Some of the UI seems counter-intuitive and should probably be considered during any major update. Minor issues that made it a bit longer to learn.

I love this software!

Kommentare: We can not do without the software at this point.

Vorteile:

Mostly we use the remote control feature and the scripted installs feature. Recently we have started adding some scheduled tasks into goverlan to take care of some of our weekly file management tasks we have to do. I have also configured our Goverlan to allow us to remote a users personal computer. We really like this aspect of it.

Nachteile:

Sometimes the display refresh is a bit squirrely. It will tell me there is no monitor connected at times.

I love the ability to remote into multiple machines.

Nachteile:

Often when opening up machines, if one machine becomes unavailable, you have to switch between tabs in order to remotely control a machine again. Hopefully they will fix this bug soon.

Critical Piece of IT Software

Kommentare: Goverlan provides a critical tool that our IT department is able to use to support our remote locations that don't have any onsite support. I can't say how much this reduces our overhead and significantly lessens our need to physically be onsite. Additionally it has become such a useful tool that we are able to provide support and manage our system using this as out primary support for any system that is on our network

Vorteile:

Goverlan really provides immense flexibility to support our users and our hardware over local and remote locations. It connects very quickly and easily, ties in to our existing AD structure, and provides numerous tools to provide critical information about our systems.

Nachteile:

Some PC's or OS's will require prep to integrate in full. Once this system is worked through, it isn't as much of an issue

Goverlan Reach

Vorteile:

The ability to roll out policies throughout our domain and keep track of where users are logged in at any given time.

Nachteile:

Would really like a way to force the machines to report back system information to your SureDATA database. Instead I have to run a weekly scope on my machine to force them to update their information. If we could do it through Reach then that would be a much better centralized solution rather then depending on my machine being on for the database to get updated somewhat frequently so that we can run reports even and get up-to-date information on systems that are powered off at that time.

Great information all in one place

Kommentare: Enjoy using this for ease of information in one place.

Vorteile:

Able to see all PC information in one spot. Easy to remote control and see what programs are installed on the PC. Also can remote manage the PC through Task Manager option, Power Option, File Manage, and run Command Prompt as admin when needed.

Nachteile:

If the user has multiple screens, you have to switch between them instead of being able to use a scroll bar to move back and forth between them.

Simply the best remote and management software around

Kommentare: We have been using this software for around 10 years now and if it was not up to the job, well, we would not still be using it. I think coming from an IT support enviorment that speak volumes.

Vorteile:

Using the console is super easy, and offering remote support and remote management is plain and simple.

Nachteile:

I can't really think of anything that these people have not thought about.

It's really easy to use and makes helping remote users so much easier and convenient.

Vorteile:

Convenience - many of our users are remote. Having a way to see what they are seeing and to troubleshoot their issues is great. Easy to use Licensing is convenient to keep track of users Observation tool is great when interaction is not needed Chat tool - love it!

Nachteile:

Do not like that if you logout as one user to login as another user, you may lose your connection. Connection sometimes randomly locks up, at which time, you then have to disconnect and reconnect.

Great tool. Very useful for enterprise IT administrators.

Vorteile:

Goverlan tools works without any errors or lags. IT has Active directory integration that works perfectly fine. Great tool and I would recommend it to use for IT colleagues in enterprise environment. Tool saves time, it has account information where you can see the password age of user. This helps to identify problems with expired password. Remote connection also works great.

Nachteile:

It could have System Center Configuration Manager 2012 integration. For Example to download or apply machine policy or to trigger application deployment cycle. It could also have a tool to install System Center Configuration Manager 2012 client to desktop and laptop workstations.

Best product I've used for remote management and support!

Remote management features and reporting are my favorite features and I have yet to dive into all that it offers!

Nachteile:

I would really like the ability to run this on MacOS as that is my primary workstation, but I run it on a windows box that I can always connect to.

Nachteile:

The software does not respond at times, Closes when you try to set focus. Would like some more detailed information when trying to use the product. Example when using scope actions a list of command examples would help
