Everlaw

Great alternative to the others for straight-ahead review!

Kommentare: I like Everlaw. It isn't as powerful a search machine as something like Relativity, but the coding presets and keyboard shortcuts are fast! Also, you can (and I did!) contact support directly through the platform - they are responsive and helpful.

Vorteile:

Everlaw is built around the pain points of coding documents in older, more established platforms. The coding presets and keyboard shortcuts scream speed and give you a great review flow.

Nachteile:

This has TOO MANY ISSUE TAGS - from the inbuilt ones to the ones you add, you get oversaturation and tagging for issues becomes meaningless. Also, the search and filter functions are not as robust and somewhat convoluted.

Everlaw Makes Doc Review Fun

Kommentare: Everlaw helps organize documents not just in terms of their importance to the case or responsiveness to discovery, but helps you tell your client's story well.

Vorteile:

By far the best quality of Everlaw is that it makes doc review about as fun as it can be. The smooth interface and the depth of keyboard shortcuts in your review window make it easy to code your docs in a way that almost feels fun.

Nachteile:

The biggest drawback of Everlaw is the expense. $30/GB/month is incredibly expensive for clients, particularly on bigger e-discovery cases. In fact, it's usually cost-prohibitive. It seems Everlaw would be better off lowering the pricing to increase its overall revenues, especially because the cost of storage doesn't come close to approaching $30/GB/month.

Steep learning curve but useful

Everlaw has a lot of features - you can customize and organize to your heart's content. No shortage or creative options with Everlaw.

Nachteile:

Everlaw can be overwhelming, particularly at first. The learning curve to navigate the program and understand all of its nuances can be steep.

Everlaw Is The Best

Vorteile:

It is user friendly and intuitive. Once you have the basics down, it is very easy to expand on to more complex items.

Nachteile:

Nothing - I love it. It is superior to any other product I have used.

Almost perfect

Vorteile:

Everlaw is very intuitive and easy to teach new users how to use. Attorneys love using the Storybuilder feature to create a chronological timeline for the case and to prep for depositions. Another major draw to Everlaw is independence. If there needs to be a production made, we don't have to reach out to a vendor for them to run it. We don't need to tell a vendor what tags to create or the search terms needed to create review batches. With the ECA database, Everlaw is also a pretty cost-conscious option and clients appreciate it.

Nachteile:

There are only a couple of major issues that can cause some hair pulling- One is deduplicating. Identifying and culling duplicates is not always easy and can be rather convoluted. It is also frustrating being unable to search for near-dupes. I hope upgrading their deduplication features and search functions is high on their list. Another issue is versioning. When a document is produced, it creates a whole new document separate from the native. This becomes very clunky and also can cause an issue when trying to keep costs low. It would be much easier if, instead of creating a whole new document, it would create another tab in the review window that would be called "produced" or something along those lines. This also incurs a higher fee. We will use the ECA feature, promote documents for review and production, migrate the work product to the produced document, and then demote the original documents to the ECA database to save on hosting fees. After a production is run, the review project now has 2 of every document produced. If I was running a production on 1GB of data and the resulting production took up 1.5GB, even if I demote the original documents right after the production, we are still billed for 2.5GB even though the originals were only on the review side for maybe an hour after they were produced. This can be very cost heavy when 40GB productions are run.

Excellent, easy to use

Amazing, highly professional document management platform

Vorteile:

Hands down, the best features were: 1) provision of the platform free-of-charge for non-profit humanitarian organizations, and 2) excellent customer service to iron out technical challenges. We also found the general features - keyword search, translation, commenting/notes, and document management/organization to be very user friendly.

Nachteile:

It was sometimes confusing and difficult to switch between analytical screens and the documents themselves. Our partners in Sierra Leone found it difficult to access the platform due to bandwidth issues.

First 6 Months

Vorteile:

Once you learn the functions that Everlaw provides, it is invaluable at helping to sort and manage records.

Nachteile:

You really have to learn the intricacies of the software and things are not necessarily intuitive. But when I had to do a big project and really get the help of customer support, I learned the software and became much more comfortable with it. I expect future projects will be much easier as a result.

User friendly and great customer support

The interface is very intuitive and the customer support is fantastic.

Nachteile:

I wish it was possible to search for text within images.

Very easy to use and adaptable to the individual user

Kommentare: Customer Service responds with very detailed instructions for all service requests within an hour, even on the weekends and late at night.

Vorteile:

That it is so easy to customize for quick review based on unique work-style.

Nachteile:

For hit highlights, to see where specific terms are contained within the document, it is only possible to see hits in the Text view, not Image, and sometimes it can be difficult to go between text and image to find hits for search terms. But it is not a significant issue.

Using Everlaw for document review

Vorteile:

The reviewing and document coding in Everlaw is very intuitive and user friendly.

Nachteile:

There are not any real downsides to using Everlaw as a document review platform.

Everlaw makes organizing, searching and producing discovery a breeze!

Kommentare: Overall I absolutely love using Everlaw and find it to be a great tool for organizing, reviewing, redacting, searching and producing documents in the discovery process. I also love that I can upload deposition transcripts and exhibits which is useful for ease in finding key words and phrases in a transcript in trial.

Vorteile:

I love how easy it is to upload and produce documents through Everlaw. I also love the various ways to search for key words and phrases in a single binder or in the entire database. The continuous updates to Everlaw have been great as well, such as being able to rotate a single page now and not all pages in a document. I also find the ability to unitize large files very useful when it comes to redacting and creating an accurate privilege log.

Nachteile:

I would like to be able to delete a page in a document (such as a blank pages that are part of a file import/upload). I would also like the ability to be able to rename any and all files/matters created. Another feature I would love to see is the ability to move or copy a timeline into another matter as sometimes I have cases that have overlapping, relevant information to more than one case.

Everlaw Review

Everlaw is the best E-Discovery Tool

Kommentare: Wonderful. Better than any other document management tool that I have used.

Vorteile:

In production heavy cases Everlaw is essential. It streamlines productions, makes searching through hundreds of thousands of pages of documents easy. Has a very powerful AI engine search to help you zero in on only those important documents. The user interface is also very intuitive and easy.

Nachteile:

No major cons at the moment. I switched to Everlaw from a really crappy program that was hard to use, so by comparison this software is a dream.

First Choice Product

Kommentare: Excellent - always first choice provider.

Vorteile:

Everlaw is super user friendly and, compared to equivalent products I've seen, Everlaw is always to be preferred. The search function is so easy to use to build up very complex and sophisticated searches, absolutely invaluable.

Nachteile:

Sometimes the home page can appear a bit cluttered and when you first start using it it's not obvious how to navigate around it.

Everlaw

Kommentare: We have been able to upload and search large amounts of data in a relatively short amount of time.

Vorteile:

Easy to share searches and binders. Configuring, tracking and sharing production sets from within the tool is very good.

Nachteile:

The order of operations in search feature is not intuitive, especially when trying to include family members, but exclude certain coded documents.

Best designed review platform on the market

Kommentare: Everlaw support is absolutely fantastic. Everlaw is a well designed tool that greatly aids trial preparation and collaboration.

Vorteile:

Ease of use for new attorneys and staff makes Everlaw by far the most efficient review and collaboration product in the cloud. Little to no onboarding allows attorneys and support staff immediate benefits.

Nachteile:

I would love to see more continuity between the review side and StoryBuilder side. Integrate everything in StoryBuilder into the review layout.

Searching for and viewing legal documents

Vorteile:

Document search and review is easy enough, and I appreciate the various ways of searching documents.

Nachteile:

Figuring out how to download documents (and name/organize them) was not quite as intuitive for me. Also the Storyboard is not the easiest for me to navigate, although I'm starting to get used to it.

Everlaw allowed us to scale up our ability to review discovery.

Kommentare: Reviewing large scale discovery would have been impossible given our timeline and staffing. Everlaw features and support allowed us to expand our capabilities to review documents with complex searches.

Vorteile:

The search functions for Everlaw allowed for us to transition from our typical style of document management to encompass a much larger scale of discovery. There is a bit of a learning curve with understanding all the different functions, but with some really helpful support, I was able to get a handle on the functions and make the software work for our team. Everlaw allowed us to scale our document management while still working within the timelines that we had to follow.

Nachteile:

There are a few features that I have run into that I would appreciate being added. Every time I have run into this, I have reached out to support and had my concerns logged for discussion for future rollouts.

Everlaw is AWESOM

Kommentare: I have been in e-discovery for over 15 years and this, in my opinion, is the best tool....hands down. Please continue to develop and build out this wonderful platform

Vorteile:

I most like the layout and how user intuitive the tool is for use.

Nachteile:

Some features could be expanded more....like sharing exports with other users more easily. I also don't like that certification passage requires a 100% score. That is a bit unrealistic and doesn't aid in learning, but encourages "memorizing for the test".

Everlaw a great platform for litigation document production

Kommentare: It's help me manage document production for three pending patent litigation matters, all from my laptop.

Vorteile:

Allows an individual to manage a complete production from uploading the documents and producing to opposing counsel and Everlaw support very helpful resolving any issues.

Nachteile:

I think would be helpful to add more ? popups to describe the features and functions.

Amazing Customer Service, Easy to Use, Great product

Kommentare: I have had a great experience with learning, implementing, deploying, and administering Everlaw. During the ediscovery software selection process, I demo'd 4 other competitors, and I'm glad we selected Everlaw.

Vorteile:

It was easy to start using being as a beginner to this software, and while I am still learning the features, techniques, etc., I have been impressed by Everlaw's customer service.

Nachteile:

When in Full Review, I wish there was a way to customize and lock the view. For example, Annotations, minimizes and I continually need to expand it.

Great for eDiscovery Scoping

Vorteile:

Everlaw is my go-to product when I need to quickly identify pertinent information related legal matters or research requests. When I need to find the needle in a haystack, I use Everlaw.

Nachteile:

As an administrator, it can be frustrating that I can't see the searches performed by other users. I don't like that other users have to share their searches with me in order for me to see them.

Much better than other platforms I've used

Kommentare: I much prefer it to other platforms I've used. I've used pretty much all of them, doing document review off and on since the early 2000s.

Vorteile:

User-friendly, just about intuitive to use, work screen isn't cluttered. Easier to see what one is doing coding duplicates & near-dupes than other platforms. Good notes & highlighting functions.

Nachteile:

The only thing I don't like is pretty minor: Not being able to save draft messages.

Vorteile:

Being able to customise the review pane. Quick upload and export speeds. Ease of use.

Nachteile:

No ability to create a template for a default view for a when a case is loaded.
