6 + years user on multiple websites

Vorteile:

Over the 6 years that I have been using Memberpress I have had no issues at all with the membership management. I like the ease of use. The not complicated setup and the fact that it is dependable. It keeps up with the changing internet!

Nachteile:

I am very comfortable with this software. I would suggest to include more metrics on the reports such as Total income per user / total income per product. Some ability to create pivot tables and charts would be great! I would also like the ability to Upsell if someone clicks on cancel membership. That would be great to add.

A dream to implement

Vorteile:

Setting up a membership site was so easy to do. In the past I've seen clients with hal a dozen plugins to create membership sites, especially if they have Woo as well! But Memberpress wraps everything up neatly and still manages to be time-efficient and optimised for speed. It was really easy to setup and get going, really intuitive.

Nachteile:

I found that some output, for example the "My Account" widget is unable to be styled using settings. If you don't want vanilla you have to break out the Chrome Inspector and create your own custom css. While I can do that, a lot of people cannot.

Good, but the fact there's no editor built-in...

Kommentare: For the price they're charging and this being a WordPress tool, I expect some sort of appearance / form style editing to be built-in. I was really disappointed to discover that I'd basically have to code much of the appearance and stylistic settings. This makes it really hard to optimize for conversions. With me not being that good at CSS, this also means I'll have to hire a CSS dev to make MemberPress more user-friendly and conversion oriented. There are basically NO appearance editing features built-in, and I find that extremely disappointing.

Vorteile:

Inclusive of just about everything you need to run a membership website

Nachteile:

No built-in appearance editing. For the price they're charging and the fact that this is an annual membership, that should definitely be built-in. There are WP tools that cost WAY less that have appearance editing built-in.

Excellent Wordpress Membership Software

Kommentare: Overall i love memberpress and am glad i found it. I think it is awesome!

Vorteile:

This is the most easy to use wordpress membership software. It has great extra features like the importer. It's also very well supported with really clear helpful support!

Nachteile:

The course software is still new and I use learndash with it but there is good integration.

The course add-on is simply the best

Vorteile:

After struggling for months (and at each and every WP update) with a different LMS plugin, I finally transferred all my courses on MemberPress. I cannot tell you how much everything changed in better, I have now no more issues and finally I can manage all my courses and memberships from one and plugin! I love this add-on.

Nachteile:

I don't have any complaint, especially after the Elementor integration now MemberPress seem to have all the elements and qualities I wished for.

After Much Research, It Was a Great Choice

Kommentare: I love having my membership site ready to go without weeks of work to get there.

Vorteile:

I liked how easy it was to put my private pages behind a paywall. It was quite user friendly.

Nachteile:

I did have some difficulty adding Stripe and Paypal and lacked confidence that it all worked, but in the end it did! Also, it did not integrate with my email provider, SendinBlue.

MemberPress is good, but it could also get better.

Kommentare: I considered a few alternatives before settling for MemberPress. So far, I can say that I made the right choice. Even though it lacks certain features, the core functionality it provides makes it the perfect fit.

Vorteile:

MemberPress gives you all the things you need to build a functional membership site on WordPress. While working on a client's website, it was the only WP membership plugin that allowed me to use a local payment gateway (PayStack) right out of the box by installing a ready-made addon. There was absolutely no need to buy this separately or manually write the code for it. Also, being able to create corporate membership is a big plus.

Nachteile:

MemberPress lacks a member directory with complete profiles on the front end. I've seen some WP membership plugin with this and this makes one wonder why it's not included.

Helped us move off Teachable

Kommentare: Memberpress allows us to sell access to our LMS with different membership options. We've built some custom code to have full control of our user experience.

Vorteile:

Easy to create memberships and assign courses to it with the LearnDash plugin

Nachteile:

The LearnDash connection is kind of buggy and we had to create custom plugins to keep all courses in sync for all users

Switching to MemberPress was my best decision so far

Vorteile:

I switched from Buddypress where the options were limited and hard to find, so I was looking for a plugin that could offer everything I needed for one specific set price. After some research I stumbled upon Memberpress and even though I'm not an experience user by far; the setup was flawless and the configuration was very easy.

Nachteile:

My experience with MemberPress hasn't reached the level of "I'm looking for something but I can't find it here" yet so I can't really think of anything right now

Great software that is easy to setup and manage your membership with

I can't express how amazing Memberpress is in terms of how easy it is to setup your membership. I got a membership set up in a couple days without any issues.

Nachteile:

I don't like that I had to get a separate license for the affiliate platform.

Many Great Features, but Too Many Screens to Accomplish Goals

Kommentare: Overall, it is a very robust membership management program, but it is not very user-friendly.

Vorteile:

Overall, it is fine for managing our members.

Nachteile:

There is not a central location for inputting all the information required for a single member. The user profile information requires you go to a different page to view transaction information and then another separate page for subscription information and then a completely other page if they have IP authentication access.

Flexible and Extensive Membership Payment and Portal Solution

Kommentare: We are able to allow new users to sign up, we get paid and can kick off automated scripts that talk to our other website management systems in a streamlined way. Renewals are easy.

Vorteile:

Extremely flexible due to its deep integration with WordPress. Makes it very easy to brand and pull into their API to meet our own needs. Excellent support and stable.

Nachteile:

Some nuances in how their code is written and how it works with WordPress that takes time to learn. Can be difficult to add new user subscriptions or upgrade as an admin due to the subscriptions using native Stripe subscriptions - we get why it was done this way though.

Easy setup for a 1 person team

Nachteile:

The price was a lot for a small team of 1. It was fair relative to other things in the market but I hadn’t budgeted spending this much when looking to set up a membership platform.

Memberpress - The Best Solution For A Membership Site

The team at Memberpress is always willing to help with any technical issues and they are constantly upgrading their product and adding to it to make it better and easier to use. Memberpress really is the best solution for a membership site.

Vorteile:

We really like Memberpress because it easily integrates with our website and all the features are customisable to run and blend with our website design. It is easy to set up different memberships and member types so we can design and customise our membership site to suit our customers and what they want and change it whenever we want to. The payment gateway setup is easy and we are able to use all the leading payment methods giving our customers the freedom to choose how they want to pay. The finished result on our website delivers a professional membership site that looks good, is easy to use for our customers and we can run and have complete control over it ourselves.

Nachteile:

Our main frustration with Memberpress is that it doesn't have the facility to build and run a video membership site within it. In order for us to be able to deliver this using Memberpress as our membership software, we have had to integrate a separate video gallery and run within its limitations.

Over 5 years and I still love memberpress

Kommentare: I've been using memberpress since 2017 and currently use it to run 3 different membership programs on two different domains. Everything in MP is laid out logically and the learning curve is pretty short.

Vorteile:

Powerful and flexible. Relatively easy to set up and maintain.

Nachteile:

Some features are a few extra clicks deep

The most robust and sensibly designed of the wordpress membership plugins

Kommentare: Robust wordpress membership platform which we use for delivery of paid courses and learning management. Acts as a complex framework on which you can build a very elaborate membership site rich in features and with quite customisable behaviour.

Vorteile:

It doesn't take over your installation and hog the wordpress admin like many plugins do. It keeps itself in its own section and has a reasonable number of settings. Memberpress should really be considered a membership framework upon which you can assemble a versatile range of membership and subscription based sites rather than an out of the box product, i.e. there's still a lot of work to do yourself but memberpress will help you more than it will cause headaches, and that is not always the case with wordpress membership plugins. Really fantastic rule making section means that you can create things like tag and category restrictions or take it to a whole level of complexity and control by restricting custom post types and taxonomies. The latter approach is excellent for those combining this with custom fields and really customising the admin panel heavily. Integrations are not endless but are well considered and usually best of class i.e. Stripe, Paypal, Mailchimp, Drip etc...

Nachteile:

Because it's a framework really, it is possible to use memberpress badly if you are not an experienced wordpress developer. Not making good rules for restriction and relying on per page restriction for example can set you up for a messy future and makes you very dependent on memberpress. The forms and payment workflow could be nicer. The user self-service section needs some work although it can be styled with CSS. it would be nice if the defaults were a bit more modern and adapted a bit better to themes. More action based hooks would be useful to make a very customisable membership signup and upgrade flow.

Great membership plugin

Kommentare: There are a lot of features available with MemberPress. There's definitely a learning curve that comes with setting up and using the plugin, but they have a lot of helpful videos explaining the various features and how to use them. Also, if you get on the mailing list, they send out regular emails, in the beginning, telling you about all the features available. We were so busy that we didn't have time to read many of them, and there are probably some benefits that we are missing out on because we didn't read them. But regardless, it's definitely served us well and helped up increase our membership numbers.

Vorteile:

Once set up, the plugin makes taking payments and keeping track of members a breeze. It's all mostly automated so there's not a lot of extra work that needs to be put into collecting information, sending email responses, taking payments, etc.

Nachteile:

We switched from a different membership plugin to use this one because it offered more features. It's been a couple of years since setting it up so it's hard to remember exactly what issues we faced, but I do remember that transferring our member info from the old site to the new one wasn't very intuitive. We had to type out all of their info because we couldn't find a way to export the info from the old plugin and import it into MemberPress. That was tedious but, like I said, it's been a couple of years so future updates may have addressed that problem and made the transfer process easier.

Best Membership / Commerce Plugin

Kommentare: We are still using it and will continue to use it. Support is amazing. I find the response time is best than most products of this nature.

Vorteile:

It does exactly what we needed it to do and very client friendly. Just makes the whole process of membership management much easier

Nachteile:

Has a bit of a learning curve. Took me a while to get the hang of all aspects. I became the support centre for my clients using this product. I'd suggest to have more video tutorials.

Overall, an excellent product.

Kommentare: It took some time setting everything up the exact way we needed it, but there are plenty of FAQs and video tutorials that got us there in a fair amount of time.
Once set up, editing and tweaking certain things is easy. There haven't been any issues with payments and debiting our members' accounts. So far the software has worked exactly as it's supposed.
Overall, we are very happy and will carry on using MemberPress for the foreseeable future.

Vorteile:

-Great support with in-depth FAQs and video tutorials. -No errors or glitches. Everything works the way I've set it up to. -Plenty of options and capabilities for what we need now and what we might even use in the future. So many features.

Nachteile:

-Took some time to understand how everything works and to set up everything in the exact way that we needed to use it. -Limited payment gateway support.

Best Choice for my Crafting Membership

Kommentare: My business simply wouldn't exist without MemberPress. I haven't found any other service that is comparable.

Vorteile:

I liked most that MemberPress integrates seamlessly with so many other things that I use such as Mailchimp, BeaverBuilder, BuddyBoss. Everything works great and whenever I have issues they are quick to respond.

Nachteile:

I wish that they had a live chat for customer service, but I appreciate that they respond quickly most of the time.

It is super simple to use, set up and manage memberships with MemberPress software. Having use it for over 3 years we find it to be a great system for our needs. Never had any issues with it so far.
