For me as a system accountant the main thing I want is good consultants to work with who don't try and lead you down the garden path.
The consultants I worked with during this project were the best I have encountered so far, they were knowledgeable, approachable and understood our time line.
As a coder myself I was so impressed with how quickly the system could be customised to our requirements and how I could describe the issues, they were understood and within days of an agreed solution it was ready for testing.
It really was a pleasure to work with them
Vorteile:
The ease of the out of the box integration with our ERP (SAP Business One). How easy it was to mirror our spend authority matrix within iDocuments, it was replicated via Purchase Order and Purchase Invoice approval workflows. A user could approve within the office or remotely via the mobile app. The OCR scanning software allowed for a fully automated AP process which fitted within an already fully automated Treasury process. So a decent chunk of invoices required no Finance human interactions at all. The Accountants really enjoyed iDocuments as it attaches the Invoice images within SAP Business One which allowed for more detailed Reporting Analysis. Feedback from Expense and Credit Card users was also positive with most enjoying not having to submit paper forms and the mobile app allowing them to also upload an image of their receipt. Finance feedback on expenses was positive as the expense came fully coded ready for repayment to the employee and the credit card hit the correct debtor control account which was offset when when the credit cards were paid.
Nachteile:
The only cons were our implemented version of the OCR scanning tool didn't get the fully automated end to end success rate were looking for, but once we upgraded to the newer version we noticed a marked improvement. Client training on 'when an end user gets reminder notifications' could be improved.
