Excellent Software for dynamic flow simulations.
Kommentare: Since it is a schlumberger software it is really expensive, considering the fact that extra heavy and heavy oil simulations wont work too well I don't recommend you use it in these scenarios, otherwise it is an excellent dynamic flow simulator.
Vorteile:
Since Olga is a dynamic flow simulator it hands out better results and simulations than steady state ones. Most simulators estimate the fluid iterations as layer flow, but olga handles better the complex fluid interactions, considering bubbling, slugging and other factors.
Nachteile:
Beware if you are going to run a simulation of heavy and extra heavy oil, because the black oil option which is the one that comes remotely closer to those scenarios really messes up for low API values.
Great dynamic flow simulation.
Kommentare: If you can afford purchasing this expensive software I highly recommend it. Be warned that on extra heavy oil is going to have problems, but overall is an amazing tool for flow simulations
Vorteile:
Olga shines when working with dynamic flow simulations, it comes up closer to reality than steady state simulators such as pipesim from the same developer. It handles gas interaction on flows better and grows appart from the usual layer flow simulations.
Nachteile:
When working with extra heavy oil simulations it doesn't work that well. It's calculations are mostly made for medium/light oil, water and gas.
Efficient Multiphase Flow Transient Simulation Tool
Kommentare: Overall, Olga is a robust tool for flow modeling and simulation. This is great option for transient multiphase flow simulator that can model complex flow phenomena in pipelines, wells, and other oil and gas production systems. Whether you are conducting research, working on class projects, or testing flow scenarios for field application, the software can be a good choice.
Vorteile:
Olga is a great tool that I have been using for research and testing of flow models during my graduate degrees. I have found Olga to be a great tool with plenty of customization options, allowing me to include a variety of well elements in the system and test how they affect or improve the flow. The software is highly flexible and can be used to simulate a range of flow scenarios and is capable of running transient simulations. One point that I enjoyed was that the developers provides excellent documentation for the software. The documentation includes a description of the models used, insights on how to utilize the tool, and examples of various simulations. This makes it easy for users to get started with the software and learn how to use it effectively.
Nachteile:
One potential negative point of Olga is that, although the documentation is generally good, some of the references can be hard to find or even incorrect. During my use of the software, I found a few instances where the documentation was unclear or referred to the wrong model. While this did not significantly impact my overall experience, it did lead to some frustration and wasted time as I had to search for the correct information elsewhere.
The OLGA software developed by Schlumberger is the best on the market to simulate dynamic flow.
Vorteile:
This software is ideal to simulate the flow since it is based on the dynamic state and not on the stationary one, which allows to have greater precision to the changes of temperature and of the behavior of the fluid in the porous medium.
Nachteile:
For crudes with API grades lower than 19 it does not offer good results, which indicates that it does not work the same for heavy and extra heavy crudes.
