Uptimerobot—useful in keeping me ahead of the game

Vorteile:

It is very useful for me to in near real-time to manage the status of my websites. I have to manage about two dozen properties—not all that I own—so having a light footprint tool for this is great. It is great to know of (and fix) issues with my sites before my boss knows there is an issue.

Nachteile:

While it is very fast in picking up changes, I would love something that was a bit faster.

Reliable Website Monitoring for Almost a Decade!

Kommentare: I've been using Uptime Robot for nearly 10 years, and it has been an incredibly reliable tool for monitoring my websites and servers. The free tier is generous, allowing for multiple monitors with a 5-minute check interval, which is more than enough for most small to medium projects. The interface is simple and intuitive, and setting up new monitors takes just a few seconds.

Vorteile:

- Extremely reliable. - Free tier is very accommodating with 50 monitors and 5-minute intervals - Easy to set up and manage with an intuitive dashboard - Supports multiple alert methods, including email, SMS, and other integrations - Affordable paid plans for those needing advanced features like 1-minute checks and SSL monitoring

Nachteile:

- Limited historical data in the free tier (logs are only stored for 3 months) - SMS alerts can be costly compared to competitors

They broke it

Kommentare: They broke it. Monitors are frequently not working, reporting state 30-40 minutes late, or not at all. I have 2 accounts and 1 account may report correctly while the second doesn't - it's just unusable. Support say: “this is normal” - or "our IP was blocked" (it wasn't and why did the other monitor work then?). Right now, I have a monitor that should be up, but isn’t. Their solution? - Reset the stats and lose 3 years of history because it is "stucked in cache". Disgraceful. No solution or refund from their team.

Used to work, but unfortunately no longer does.

Nachteile:

The information cannot be relied upon unfortunately.

Confidence

Kommentare: It does what they claim, so I can be confident I'll know when the server reboots and I need to turn it back on!

Vorteile:

I set it and forget it. Until it emails me that we've had an outage. That kind of peace of mind is worth the price of admission.

Nachteile:

I have no cons about the service at all.

Vorteile:

My company is an IT provider for several small and medium sized businesses. We have a separate commercial RMM tool to monitor up and downtime for client sites and servers, but honestly, we also happily subscribe to UptimeRobot for down and up alerts. Being proactive for our clients is priceless and we have been happy UptimeRobot clients for YEARS! Their emails are so simple to read and reliable (especially when it's 0300 and we get a server down alert). It's great to have this as a tool for our business so we can deliver the best service for our clients. Highly recommended!

Nachteile:

No cons, really. Takes a tech savvy person to configure Windows server down and server up alerts, but reliable when it is done and tested. Would rather it this way vs running a software on servers, so since we create the scripting, we know what it's doing.
