Easy to navigate

Kommentare: We used Intravet for 10+ years before transitioning to Avimark. Intravet was very user friendly software and the appointment calendar was easier to navigate then Avimark.

Vorteile:

Intravet is a very easy to use PMS. It is a great way to start using a PMS.

Nachteile:

There are not great reporting features and it lacks in inventory management and invoicing received inventory.

Kommentare: Overall experience was excellent. Reporting system is great and the platform is organized. Not difficult to learn the software and I taught myself simply by clicking around. Boarding and grooming is organized. Great system

Vorteile:

Everything on the home page of the software is well designed. Boarding and grooming is also a section that other platforms usually get wrong, but Intravet gets right. Reporting system is very accurate and better than all the other platforms I have ever used (Avimark, Evet, Cornerstone, WoofWare).

Nachteile:

Would be great to have a cloud based version of Intravet. This is not really a "con" so to say and more of a hope to further improve the platform.

A nightmare of a database!

Nothing at this point. I have nothing else to add...

Out practice has been using Intravet for over 10 years now. I came in as practice manage a year ago and systematically tried to work with Intravet to reduce the shear number of errors and required reboots. We are now on an extremely fast, hard-wired network and the problems have continued to persist. There are too many to list them here. Intravet does not have a working utility that allows you to defragment your database. They have admitted that it does not work and, for some reason, they are not working to fix the utility. Customer service tried to upload our database and run fragmentation report on their end. According to Intravet, our database was not fragmented at all. This is completely impossible given the volume of data that runs through the system on a daily basis. As it turned out, they were supposed to also figure out why a 3rd party app could not be loaded on the system and they said they were unable to load the database - THE SAME DATABASE THEY CLAIMED WAS 0% FRAGMENTED. You get the point!

IntraVet former user

Kommentare: IntraVet was the first vet software that this company used, and it served us well for years. It would sometimes lag and didn't look too "pretty", but it got the job done. (It was my second software, as we had used Cornerstone at my old practice. It wasn't as visually appealing as Cornerstone, but was otherwise very similar, functionally.)

Vorteile:

Intravet's appointment calendar was very intuitive. It allowed for simple things like cut-and-pasting appointments, which even our new system does not provide. Also, their reports screen was very intuitive and allowed for a high degree of customization.

Nachteile:

The fact that we had to have an in-house server made it less smooth when running out of our second building. That also meant that users would not be able to log on from home, their smartphones, etc.

Use daily. Easy to navigate.

Vorteile:

Easy to navigate. Appointment book leaves room for detailed notes and is easy to schedule. Our practice will upgrading the software soon to the newest version. Links with laboratory software easily. I have also used the demo of that upgrade and am looking forward to making the switch.

Nachteile:

Cannot open an invoice if someone else is invoicing. Cannot create an estimate if invoicing. Control Center slows down software. Cannot combine accounts unless software is shut down on all other computers.

Good but dated

Kommentare: It's been a very reliable program for the past 20 years but the quirks drive me nuts and there are many better programs out there. I'm glad I bought it when I did but I really wish they had followed through with all their promised upgrades and expansions.

Vorteile:

I purchased this program when my hospital was built 20 years ago. At the time it was the best thing in our market. The interface is straightforward, there is consistency with the upgrades and it's pretty easy to train new staff members on.

Nachteile:

Very dated. It went from being the best to just 'meh'. The software has lots of little quirks such as not being able to delete patient numbers using the backspace, or how you jump from one subject to another in SOAPs. Once you figure out the quirks you're good to go but there are a lot of them. It seems that years ago they had a great product but then some software engineer left, the product stagnated for a long time and now it's being slowly updated by the new owners.

Plagued with bugs

Vorteile:

We moved from the Classic version to the new version, which added users and passwords.

Nachteile:

Audit trail is pathetic, incomplete and about as limited as you can get. Reporting stinks. Controlled drug reports do not work and generate garbage, this is "a known issue scheduled to be fixed in a later release" and has been a problem for at least the last 3 major releases! Good luck if the DEA wants reports from your PMS.

The software is easy to use, but has limited information you can pull or limit reports.

Vorteile:

Easy to use....It's easy to train new employees on this system. It's easy to navigate from one screen to another.

Nachteile:

Limitations on reports or report information. The support isn't great, I get different answers from different people on how to fix the same problem and most of the time end up fixing it myself.

Easy way to keep records of patients and execute the action

Vorteile:

It's facility of keeping records of the patient with their particular symptoms for disease included. It lets us consume lesser time than writing method. We don't need any kind of paper so it let us become secure about the report file of our pets and can check his or hers condition in any place with out any mis-concept to the doctor as the report will be with in the rich of an application. Being in a hectic schedule lets us become forgettable about our lovely pets, so in order to have the pets a healthy and sound life we should choose IntraVet.

Nachteile:

The application is not available in play store which leads to a bit hard for large mass to carry laptops everywhere. Sometimes the system gets hanged up for no reason. Hope to see these problmes ger solved fast otherwise the App is Just a monster for Veterinary purpose and to keep records for your pet.

Patterson has ruined this company

Vorteile:

We have the old version 350 . It works pretty well but is not up to speed with current technology. It is easy to use and great for paperless (a bit cumbersome for attaching outside labs and radiology but still not too bad)

Nachteile:

Started with intravet in 2003. Company was run by people who actually had experience in a veterinary clinic. They understood what we do everyday. Now it is run by computer people who do not understand anything. New version caused us to be locked out of large client files. Not good

Glad we switched

Kommentare: We used Intravet for almost 10 years, from the time our new practice opened through many of their updates and upgrades, and in all that time we were never happy with the practice nor did we ever feel it met the needs of our practice. We would have changed products sooner, but as a newer practice, the cost of changing softwares was out of our reach prior to when we changed.

Vorteile:

The calendar for scheduling appointments was very friendly and easy to use. It was a "pretty" program to look at one screen.

Nachteile:

We ran into problems with every update and it lacked the ease of use and functionality we needed.

Once a good software but hasn't been able to change to meet changing needs in vet med

Kommentare: I was an early user of Intravet at my practice in OH and had a great relationship with the company and many of the key people. We felt like the software was a good value then, though of course there were challenges. I sold my practice in OH to my partner and moved to CA. About a year after moving to CA, I purchased a practice and when I thought of software, I thought of Intravet due to past good relations. Contacted them and set up an assessment. We decided we wanted to go with them again. The first few years were great as the company was still Intravet and independently owned. When Intravet was purchased by Patterson, things fell apart. Intravet had been promising some great new upgrades for a year or more, but couldn't pull them off before it was sold to Patterson. Patterson promised the same type of bells and whistles for YEARS but never came through either. Updates often created issues and customer support (once an AAHA industry standard) went from fantastic to abysmal. It was a very tough transition for us because some of the same people were initially still at Intravet when first owned by Patterson, but the quality of software, updates, and support all began to fall. They promised their updated and amazing version for 5 years before I gave up and switched software before it all fell apart on us. Disappointing.

Horrible Customer Service for the price they talk in circles

Vorteile:

Easy to learn and use quickly for patients. It does the basics for a veterinary practice. We upgraded from Dog Doc to this.

Nachteile:

Customer Service and price of Computer support. I purchased the product and purchased the support for 2 years and they promised an upgrade that was never seen. 10 years later, still no upgrades and worse ever customer service.

Intravet is a good robust product

Kommentare: Really need software just wished they also provided hardware sales at the time to match with their products. This is one that I will definitely revisit next time we upgrade our Practice Management software

Vorteile:

Really liked Intravet when I was reviewing which software was more suitable for the clinic. The interface is so sleek and the design is very IOs. Really liked the way the appointment book was set up. Most of their product is very robust and I really enjoyed using it. Their new move to a cloud based system has me very excited and curious.

Nachteile:

The lack of hardware support. At the time of us looking for a new software looking for something that would also required us to look for a hardware vendor would've been a bit too much. At the time the integration with Idexx equipment was a bit lacking and the lack of any ability to auto charge was also a put off.

I have used intravet for over 15 years and find it relatively easy to use.

Vorteile:

I like the appointment calendar and ability to color code doctors. I like the interface between the software and Idexx.

Nachteile:

I hate that the new version is not out. We have been waiting for 4 years with no satisfactory answer of where it is. We are almost thinking of switching because our version is outdated.

Kommentare: Most of the technical staff are very nice to deal with. There is an arrogance about asking for after hours to update to fix issues. They expect us to shut down our entire business

We are still using it. The constant glitches and cost of back up since now we cannot purge old files we are going to soon be priced out Pattlock. The office hours are unreasonable.

Kommentare: Overall the basics of this software was helpful and somewhat understandable, but there are a lot of aspects that need to be simplified.

I like that the software connects several computers in the office so that the front receptionist can better communicate with the technicians in the back and vice versa.

Nachteile:

There were a lot of aspects of this software that was not user friendly! There were many days we were in the phone with technical support trying to figure things out. ( and sometimes the tech support did not even know the solution )

Very easy to use and navigate. Really it had most of what I would want from a veterinary software.

The reason we changed was we wanted web based software. Biggest issue with Intravet was connection issues. The server not connecting with the other computers or having to reset the server.

Kommentare: I did not like Intravet. We had it when I came to the practice. I switch from it when I could.

Vorteile:

I didn't like the software. There really isn't anything I liked about it.

Nachteile:

It was inefficient. It was slow. You needed a server. Only one person per record at a time. Each additional computer cost more. There weren't updates. Customer service wasn't good.

The ease of use and search features are great. It was easy to look thru a patient's account for info, RX refills, reminders, etc.

Sometimes searching for an item you were required to spell it out exactly like it was put in otherwise it couldn't find it.

Vorteile:

The billing reports were easy to use. Invoices were easy to create. Client communications were easy to make templates for.

Nachteile:

No customer support. Used the system for several years with no update. Crashed on several occasions. Would not save items including invoices and client communications.

Intravet 101

Vorteile:

Honestly, it was all I ever used for almost 15 years in veterinary medicine and I felt very comfortable with it. It is easy to use, and there are some great features like the minimum pricing tool, and linking reminders with products and being able to easily enter and delete products. You can print and email reminders directly from the software.

Nachteile:

It’s hasn’t kept up with the times. Electronic record keeping is the future. Clients want estimates and information emailed and texted to them directly from the software. We need to track employee entires and patient medications. The software hasn’t gotten the upkeep it deserves.
