Vorteile:

Salon iris is good for basic tasks a hair salon requires to manage appointments. It is relatively user friendly.

Nachteile:

I should have waited to use Salon Iris until they had implemented them. My disappointment is due to my frustrations.

It's really pricey for what you get

Vorteile:

I like that Salon Iris has an app that the stylists could use and book from their phones. And they could room reports from their phones, too without blocking up the salon computer.

Nachteile:

I didn't like that the stylists couldn't book for other stylists from their app. Example: if a family comes in and splits between 2 stylists, they couldn't call 1 stylists to book the 2+ services. They'd have to call both

Don’t do it!!

Kommentare: Your customer service is not priority. You can’t even call anymore. You have to email. Customer service has been outsourced and you have to wait to hear back from an email a day later or so. When you do finally get an email back, they ask you what the problem is. So then I tell them why don’t you look at my prior email and see what I told you. And then you have to wait another day or two for an email back. Really? Customer service is your priority? What a bunch of bull crap!!!

Vorteile:

Their app is really good. More efficient than the cloud based version of the software.

Nachteile:

Low quality care now!!! I’ve lost tons of money with my online gift cards because Daysmart hasn’t coded in an apostrophe. So like if someone puts in the message for the gift card, happy Mother’s Day…. See how the word mothers has an apostrophe? if your customer puts an apostrophe in the message, it tells them there’s been an error. So then the customer automatically thinks well I must’ve put my credit card in wrong so they go back and do that over again and then it keeps coming up error because there’s an apostrophe put in the message! I asked the company kindly to please code in an apostrophe!!You can put in an explanation or a period but you can’t put in an apostrophe. Why not! ? That’s been going on for years! So what happens in the end is that because someone can’t get through to get a gift card, they go to another place and buy a gift card!! Losing me money! And all over an apostrophe!! if you have DaySmart, try buying a gift card and put in the message. Happy Mother’s Day or a happy Father’s Day and see the error warning come up.!! They don’t even put a note saying don’t use these symbols. The customer just gets confused. And then they move onto the next place!! so stupid! I’m moving onto Meevo! Much much better software!! I’m in the middle of training now and already can see a huge difference. And it’s the same price!

Kommentare: Overall we have been happy with the software and hope to continue the relationship for a long time.

Vorteile:

It is fairly easy to use. It is nice adding promotion codes to apply discounts automatically. Review management is pretty good, still a bit on the fence about it. two-way texting is also very convenient.

Nachteile:

While there are a lot of reports, there are some limitations to them as well. When checking out, currently tips are not split and need to be manually done. and when doing so, it does not show the original tip amount. For example, if the tip was $22.50, as soon as you start changing it, the original tip amount is gone and the tech needs to remember what it was and do the math to adjust the tips accordingly. Also, tips can not be adjusted after the transaction is complete without voiding the transaction. No support on weekends has been a little challenging, especially early on in our implementation.

I do not ever want to be without Day Smart!!

Kommentare: I do not miss using a paper book to hand write appointments in. Erasing penciled in names and wrinkled pages that tear out of a binder. The cell phone booking with this app is so much easier to pull up clients and insert them and their services. No more paper and pencil booking for me, ever!!!

Vorteile:

The ease of booking clients or changing appointments dates no matter where you physically are. Work or home or on vacation, it’s all on your cell phone to manage!!

Nachteile:

I think at my age, 58 yrs young, I was a bit slower grasping the look of the schedule online and how to use all the sections. But now I’m totally in love with Day Smart and it’s ease.

Kommentare: Overall, I am satisfied. The staff has been warm and welcoming. The system has been overall easy to navigate.

Vorteile:

I love the customer service and email support. Whenever there has been a problem or server connection error they have done well at resolving the issues. Everyone is always extremeley professional.

Nachteile:

Sometimes guests get a little confused with the drop down menu, if there is a way to showcase a description of each service on the booking link that would be great. At times it is very hard to get ahold of someone over the phone. At some points it took weeks to get issues resolved causing my guests to get double charged multiple times.

email marketing it was great to message customers in the same platform card on file

they lie they do not provide phone support and the online chat support is not 24/7 it is mon to fri 9 to 5 that is horrible they lock you out of you acct on the same day if the subscription was not paid - I was waiting on my new cc from bank due to a fraud immediately i was locked out. no access to my information it take 10 min for online chat person to accept and reply to you conversation

Kommentare: So far I am disappointed and hope that something comes to market with the features I need because this one is just in need of too many improvements

Vorteile:

I like that the system allows booth renters to receive their funds directly and commissioned service providers can remain on a separate payroll. Not easy to set this up, but this was the only software/ POS system I could find that had this capability. This is important because it allows consistency in my shop and all customers can check out in one place.

Nachteile:

There are so many things I don't like about this software; if another system becomes available that allows booth renters to be paid direct while commission employees to be paid through the shop payroll and has the other features I need, I will be switching again. Don't like: 1- phone/iPad app doesn't allow alot of important features that are only available on the desktop version 2- the system is slow and lags a lot 3- payroll is not included and you must pay a separate payroll provider (such as gusto or paychex etc) 4- System is expensive for what you get- on top of the monthly software cost, you need to pay a separate payroll provider and you have to rent or buy a credit card machine ($30 a month rental on top of the already expensive costs) 5- set up was difficult and you get very minimal help with it 6- there are too many separate departments, making it difficult to problem solve (ie. merchant processing is totally separate from the POS/software and communication between departs is awful) 7- bad communication- ordered a card reader, it was awful and didn't work, the new one was supposed to arrive weeks ago and we still haven't received it. If we didn't call, they would never keep us in the loop). 8- if you are not tech savvy you will have trouble learning this system- interfaces are so different from tablet to desktop and there are too many moving parts. This system has the potential t be good, but has a LONG way to go

Kommentare: Overall happy with software, would just like to see more capabilities after 8 years with company that fit the needs of day Spa business. We had trialed Meevo during and they had some great features, overall our experience was terrible with them, but some cool features they had were front desk profit focused. As example, pop ups for services notes about service to ask client when booking, service suggestion for similar services when booking one to suggest others. Product recommendation based on past purchases.

Vorteile:

VIP support moreso when we were desktop version and dealing with [SENSITIVE CONTENT] was amazing! Many thanks to her! The working and self diagnosis of problems is easy with this system.

Nachteile:

Now being cloud based definitely want to see memberships updated so when a failed payment, you can make the payment and not have to cancel member and restart, have had many issues with that since moving from desktop. Also had to found a work around to let us make membership purchase, to be "until canceled" we have to first click end date then click back to until canceled and then it works. Would like to again see the ability to add a prepaid service on an account like we could in desktop. Would also like to be able to change client name on a ticket as we were able to "change client" on ticket in desktop version. For tickets, it would be helpful to have more edit capability once they are closed, to edit service/professional/payment and change/and do partial refund. For gift cards would like to see ability to auto populate a number. For reporting, sales totals for each employee for a week would love the ability to "copy" a table like desktop version instead of having to download and upload as we utilize Google sheets and not Excel. Online giftcar would love to be able to offer promotions and not have to pay a third party for to offer things like, buy $100 get $25 for free. I've sent quite a few things through to support already to ask for feature requests. One last one off too if my head is for text marketing when making a one time campaign, to send out for last minute opening deal to be able to just send "now" or immediately I stead of having to choose the next hour.

Vorteile:

We depend on this software, however it goes down at least once every month and puts us in a bind or charges clients more than once. It good software with lots of features but expensive for booking and POS. We are stuck for 3 years. No on told us the software is connected to the booking and POS.

Nachteile:

You have to use the ELLO cash register system with DaySmart. They are owned by the same company. We were not told that. LOVE the register and booking is very functional.

Kommentare: We’ve enjoy the scheduling aspect of this program. However, doing credit card processing through card point has been a nightmare.

Vorteile:

I love the ability to schedule guests, and the information I’m able to store for guests. I like that we can save their credit card information, and the ease with texting and confirmations.

Nachteile:

The credit card processing has been a huge issue from the very beginning, to the point where we’ve considered switching services. I also wish there was a way to click on a guest in the schedule, after the ticket is closed, and see if they have any scheduled appointments. It’s inconvenient to have to go into each guest to check if tHey have scheduled appointments.

Cell phone app can be difficult to navigate at times. Doesn’t show if someone confirms appointment or not. I have to look at the desk top version to see.

The Client information, the online booking, client remindersI love everything about it.

Nachteile:

When a client owes, I wish it was a better way to send them their invoice if its more then one ticket. Also let the invoice be red so clients see what they owe.

Kommentare: Great experience, do wish I had the ability to book a client the last things booked. Like a quick hot button that auto places the services they last had. I also really like the text message capabilities. Have a last minute cancelation, send a text and bam its filled.

Vorteile:

Booking and reporting. They work all the time and every time. Good reports for the accountant. The latest features of text reminders and text appointment scheduling are awesome. Clients love this new feature.

Nachteile:

Text messaging can sneak up on you in pricing. So I have to be mindful on how many I send. Would like to be able to create my own reports but its a little limited. Or even a custom report that pulls a couple things, similar maybe pivot tables in excel that can give me a snapshot of the business metrics I'm looking for with one click.

Kommentare: I have been using day smart Salon Iris for 12 years They have made so many improvements over the years. During the pandemic they were so easy to deal with and didn't charge the monthly fee for a small period of time which was extremely helpful.

Vorteile:

Love How easy it is to use. Keeps all client information in one place making it easily accessible.

Nachteile:

The one feature I feel that is missing is for the online booking. I wish there were a way to take a deposit and block a client.

Kommentare: I appreciate [SENSITIVE CONTENT] on the app management as he will set time aside to speak with me regarding upgrades and improvements and what’s to come. Overall I have used DaySmart because it’s going to be a gas sold to switch but it will happen over time. Unfortunately other companies offer the things DaySmart lacks.

Vorteile:

I enjoy the DaySmart offers cloud user access for the team to see their schedule. Being able to have client profiles helps create consistency with client visits. Working the app is easy to manage and they offer some great features but they could use improvement. They take their customers feedback to build the app.

Nachteile:

DaySmart will have a lot of glitches in the system, and the app version lags running slow or logging out. When they add new features with updates they’re not 100% ready to go and have bugs that require improvements. Their email marketing templates are absolutely the worse. To generic and almost too tacky/old school to use. All other salon softwares are more up to date with their email marketing.

Vorteile:

The software is very easy to use and booking is a breeze. I love all the auto confirmations! I also love how it keeps track of all of my numbers for the end of the year for taxes it makes it super easy.

Nachteile:

I absolutely hate that when people message you through the app there is zero notifications to the user! I miss every single message Clients send me because there is no sound or icon that pops up on the app. I also wish you could turn off notifications for when you edit appointments. I keep that function on because if I change their appointment to a different day or time I want them getting the auto text. What I don’t like is if I change the timing or what it’s labeled as for myself to see in my own books it also notifies them.

Daysmart experience

Vorteile:

The fact I can edit and write notes in the services, that the ticket is a pop up and not a new screen. Most reports are better than other softwares.

Nachteile:

That my reminders have limited characters. It’s a database program. I can’t do payroll through the program properly. A few of the reports I wish I could click on the category to see what summer to that total. (Ex. When you do a daily report and click on products, you get a list of all the products sold that day. I would love to be able to click on credit after doing a monthly report and see who all paid credit)
