Stop Standing In Line at the Post Office

Kommentare: Very easy to use. Very cost effective if you have the postage need.
It took us several months to begin to recover the costs associated with starting - but we realized our needs would grow and it was better to learn the system while still small than jump into something untested and putting our reputation on the line...

Vorteile:

Ease of use... Online capability... Free Digital Scale (to weigh your packages and pay accurate postage)... Print your stamps directly from your desktop computer... Schedule a pick up or just "drop off" at the post office...

Nachteile:

Make sure your cost basis for using this system includes the monthly fees. When we started, we were actually losing money each month (until our postage expenses rose to meet this need). Be sure to order your replacement stamp sheets well in advance. There is nothing like running out of stamps to print and having to to the post office, only to come back and find your replacement stamps delivered later that day...

Stamps.com is good for small businesses

Kommentare: Stamps.com is a good starter software for small businesses. It works well if you are only selling on a few platforms and shipping small amounts of orders at a time. For multiple platforms and many orders, it becomes difficult to use. I find myself having to do a lot of things manually, like adding tracking numbers back into the selling platform to update the merchant and customer. I also hate having to purchase special labels and stickers through their shop as it gets expensive. They do offer great shipping costs though. I’m really neutral with this software. It works decently but there are better options out there.

Vorteile:

I like that I get low shipping rates and the orders are easy to find and ship.

Nachteile:

I don’t like that the labels and accessories must be bought through stamps.com as they are expensive.

Do not use Stamps.com for Express or any international shipping

Kommentare: I do not recommend using stamps.com for:
USA domestic shipping, since USPS provides good enough online experience for that.
International shipping, since stamps.com is 3-4x slower for delivering packages with higher prices.

Vorteile:

It's quite convenient to manage shipping orders there, including customs declarations. Interface is intuitive enough to work through it.

Nachteile:

First, it's SLOW in delivering packages. To compare stamps.com with using USPS directly, I had the following experiment. The same package by weight, size, origin and destination address I have shipped at the exact same date & time at USPS office, and I also dropped to the same USPS office the package with the label printed by stamps.com. I used the same 3-5 day Express USPS shipping option on both USPS office and stamps.com. Now the results. - I had to pay ~10$ more for stamps.com label. - it took the package with stamps.com label 10 calendar days to reach JAMAICA NY INTERNATIONAL DISTRIBUTION CENTER before departing abroad. - it took 1 (one) day for the USPS -official package to get to JAMAICA NY INTERNATIONAL DISTRIBUTION CENTER. Overall, the same EXPRESS package delivery info: - stamps.com: 13 days for $86 - official USPS: 4 days for $77 After that experiment I gave stamps.com a benefit of a doubt and repeated the exact same thing again. Shipped the same package again by both, but got the same results. stamps.com delivers packages 3-4x slower than official USPS, and prices are higher by ~12%, and stamps.com also has a service fee of ~$20/month. In my opinion it's an overkill. I care for my customers, and Stamps.com doesn't. I do not want to use their service again.

We use this product to send our letters to our clients, employees, and partners in the most convenient way easily to anywhere in the United States. The services are great, and the customer support is awesome. We save so much time with our shipping and mailing through this product.

Nachteile:

We haven't noticed any issues with using of this product, we like it so far!

If you need to mail things, save a trip to the Post and use Stamps.com

Since I first started using stamps.com, in the late 90s, it has been my go-to for printing my labels/mailers for mailing packages. Never any issues, easy to use, and reliable.

Nachteile:

I do not have any issues with stamps.com, it works as promised.

That I can't find or buy some of the stamps or labels I used when I first started with stamps.com - or that my local office supply story doesn't carry them.

Good for the average [SENSITIVE CONTENT], not so great for a business

Convenience at your expense

Vorteile:

Avoiding a trip to the post office is the main reason for using Stamps.com, but that's the only pro. You'll still need to do the following in-person: Overnight shipping, weighted packages etc. Additional hardware expenses are involved if you use Stamps.com for more than regular and certified mailings.

Nachteile:

There is virtually no support system. Every inquiry is a 2-3 day turnaround for an answer, in which you may not receive a resolution at all. It's not uncommon for the systems to be down, and tracking is inconsistent. If you only plan to do regular, and certified mailing - be sure it's worth the long-run expense. A monthly fee of $30.29 may seem insignificant, but if it's supposed to be a convenience, make sure you intend to do a high volume to get your money's worth. If not - save a little time and money by having enough patience to go to a post office.

Discount vs. Cost of Supplies is a Very Thin Margin

Kommentare: For all of our daily postage needs the software is helpful. While the discount is good, the supplies needed for special services (labels for Certified, Register, and Certified Return receipt are costly. Problems with printing those labels creates waste and if I don't save the data in PDF form, I am forced to requests refunds. I have had difficulty trying to get a support person to tell me why certain labels are not printing on the labels.

Vorteile:

The discount on postage is a saving grace. It is convenient because we do not need to go to the USPS to send out extra service shipments.

Nachteile:

I've had difficulty (still do) getting an answer about price increases and what affect they have on my already printed postage. I tried support and they said that was a question for the post office and the post office said they couldn't tell me - primarily because they aren't individually knowledgable about the software.

Great option for simple day to day business mailings.

Kommentare: This is a great software to use for day to day mailings in small businesses. We can print our own stamps at the office and no longer need to make trips to the post office for supplies.

Vorteile:

They send you a free scale and automatically calculate the cost of stamps for you. They also have a store for purchasing supplies integrated into the system interface.

Nachteile:

Can't think of anything really. This system is pretty simple and easy to use! I guess the only thing that would have been better was if the free scale could weigh heavier items.

You won't regret using Pirate Ship instead.

Kommentare: Between glitches, being unable to reach the support team, and being charged for using a free trial, I had no good experiences at all with Stamps.com, other than the customer service agent being polite. I don't like to leave one-star reviews, and I'm sure other people must have better experiences with Stamps.com, or they wouldn't be in business today. But I don't recommend them. Try Pirate Ship. Much cheaper and it has an intuitive user interface that takes no time, effort, or digging through help documentation in order to use.

Vorteile:

I was not able to use the software at all, due to glitches in every area of use--opening my account, shipping, and even glitches when I tried to close the account. The website didn't even let me in to ship anything at all until after I had closed the account. So I have no idea whether there are any good aspects to the software. I will say that the customer service agent was polite and helpful after I was finally able to reach somebody.

Nachteile:

It's expensive, considering that Pirate Ship charges only the cost you'd pay at a post office. But it simply didn't work. The account wouldn't let me in to ship anything, so I started using Pirate Ship instead and tried to close my Stamps.com account. Even though I closed the account before my four-week trial was up, I was charged for the "month" that I had used Stamps.com. After sending two emails to the support team and waiting on the phone for fifteen minutes for a representative, I was able to get them to promise a refund. I sure hope there are no more glitches between now and the money coming back.

Not Worth the Money for Small Businesses, Serious Challenges with Mass Mailings

Kommentare: Overall, the issues experienced and the high price tag made stamps.com not worth it for our business. If they offered a less expensive plan that included the things we needed and fixed some of the issues listed above, we might give them another shot. As is though, we would never go back, even if our company were bigger.

Vorteile:

We mainly used this to send certified mail, and it made the process less daunting. I liked having the ability to print postage at home and have all our tracking numbers in one spot.

Nachteile:

There were a plethora of issues with stamps.com that we kept running into the longer we used them. The main issues are as follows... -addresses are automatically changed on you, making mass mailings difficult -if there are too many characters in the name line of an address, you are not told, it just prints without half of the name (another challenge with mass mailings) -the address book doesn't carry over to different computers despite logging into the same account, which means you should expect to retype addresses a lot -the data exports into an excel sheet, but it doesn't separate addresses in a way that you can create a decent looking document from it (such as a mail manifest) -billing receipts are not available automatically, you have to ask -there are no custom plans, so our small business had to pay a huge price tag for access to certified despite not needing the "extras" like multiple users -long customer service wait times -no way to easily view your supply order history

Great for our medium-sized office

Vorteile:

Stamps.com makes it easy to send letters and packages. We are thankful for the program.

Nachteile:

We have had some issues sending documents to Europe. And, the customs sheet for shipping to Canada and other countries is not real reliable; sometimes, I have to fill it out three times to get it to work. After that, we end up just taking the package to the post office. The past month, there have been some glitches that affected the program; thankfully, they were fixed.

We use it every day for our shipping needs

Kommentare: We use it to sync all of our eBay and Amazon orders, and be able to edit and ship everything at once without having to manage multiple platforms, and it does a great job at doing that while being affordable and relatively easy to use as well.

Vorteile:

Once properly set up to sync with your online store, it's a breeze to print out shipping labels in batches, which really saves time. The monthly fee is completely reasonable considering how vital it is to our daily operation as well. It's also nice getting volume discounts on postage as well, not all shipping sites/services offer that to low volume shippers.

Nachteile:

The site/platform can be a bit confusing and slow to navigate at times. It also feels a bit outdated compared to the competition. I understand it's just USPS postage, though it'd be nice to connect a FedEx account for the shipments that would benefit from that, so I don't have to switch between two sites constantly.

Unprofessional/Unhelpful Customer Service

Kommentare: We had a couple of good years without any issues. When a problem did arise, Stamps.com did not stand behind their customer.
Terrible customer service despite four different phone calls normally lasting more than an hour and talking with nine different representatives that made promises they did not keep.

Vorteile:

I was easy to integrate with ShipStation.

Nachteile:

Unauthorized shipping charges were accepted. The company does not protect it's customer base. Stamps.com does not offer any recourse for unauthorized charges they allowed. Extremely poor customer service and I have talked with 10 different agents at Stamps.com

Convenient way to pay for postage for our law practice

Kommentare: Our office is able to save time byweighing the parcels in office on the provided scale and printing postage (at a discount) right from my desk printer.

Vorteile:

I like how easy it is to use and how the program keeps track of your mailings. I can even track my priority and certified mail directly from the program.

Nachteile:

There are too many selections to choose from for which label you are printing on. There should be a default or suggested depending on the type of package you're sending. It would be nice to make this web based instead of having to download to the computer.

I've been using stamps.com for about 10 years and wish I had started using it 10 years earlier.

Vorteile:

It saves me a great deal of time in addressing envelopes with postage on them and therefore saves me a lot of trips to the post office where I have to stand in a line with 20 people ahead of me. Makes mailing a lot more convenient and a great deal less irritating, which keeps my blood pressure from skyrocketing.

Nachteile:

There's nothing about it I don't like about this software. It seems to load a bit slowly, but I don't know if that's the software or if it's my computer, but it's not a big deal since I usually load it in the morning and leave it running all day so it's ready to go when I need it.

We use Stamps.com daily for all of our mailings and its easy to work with.

The best thing I like about stamps.com is that I don't have to go to the post office everyday to mail all of our products. All you got to do is open the app and fill in the blanks, print out the labels and stuff them in your mailbox.

Nachteile:

At the Stamps.com's price per month, many users might not get their money worth out of it if they don't do mailings on a daily or weekly basis. Also there is no platform to add up to eight different labels at one filling up one complete sheet. Good Service For Small Business Shipping Needs

Kommentare: I’ve had an excellent experience with Stamps.com. This service allows me to print postage and shipping labels from home and Priority Mail is discounted off regular USPS rates. I can log in and see all my shipments, tracking information and delivery dates. The service is also very helpful to me for keeping track of my shipping expenses. Customer service is very responsive when you need them. I’ve never had more than a couple of minutes wait time when I’ve called and the customer service reps are very helpful. I’ve been happy with my experience and Stamps.com helps me ship packages easily and with no hassles.

Vorteile:

Purchasing postage is easy to do and quick. Stamps.com works well for a small home based reselling business. I like that I can log in and view my history to see shipments by date with tracking numbers and relevant information, including delivery dates.

Nachteile:

Not a negative but a caveat for people who are considering using the service. There is a monthly charge for keeping an account active, even if you’re not using it. So you would want to make sure this is the right service for your needs. You need to be regularly shipping mail and/or packages for the service to make financial sense. It's very suitable for a small business.

More Trouble Than it's Worth

Kommentare: Maybe if you are shipping a high volume of envelopes or packages then Stamps.com makes sense. We were using it for pretty small amounts of stamps to send documents to clients and checks to our vendor. Ultimately it was more trouble than it was worth so we stopped using it.

Vorteile:

The one and only advantage of using Stamps.com is making less trips to the post office. Printing stamps here at the office, when it works, is pretty convenient.

Nachteile:

Printing stamps with stamps.com can be a real pain. First of all, the value is just not there. You have to pay the postage rates, plus pay a membership fee, plus purchase the paper you buy the stamps on. If you mess up the printing, it is a real pain to try and print a new sheet. Ultimately we decided that a few trips to the post office every month or so was less annoying and cheaper than trying to use this service.

Make shipping easy.

Kommentare: We send a lot of mail and packages. With Stamps.com we can print out our own postage and shipping labels. We put the packages on the scale and the software uses the exact postage needed. It's a no brainer if you ship a lot of items.

Vorteile:

Shipping is easy. Put your package on the scale, print out the shipping label and off it goes. No more dealing with regular stamps, trying to figure out how many to use.

Nachteile:

Occasionally the scale will stop working so we have to unplug it and plug it back in. The conveniences of the software far outweight this minor inconvenience.
