Vorteile:

CampMinder helps to facilitiate all aspects of running our camp. It's an integral tool for all members of our year round team, as well as our seasonal staff. Things I love the most.. 1. The People. The support at CampMinder is top notch. Help is a phone call or a ticket away, and the CampMinder folks are dedicated to developing not only software solutions but relationships with their clients. 2. The Functionality. I believe that CampMinder is easy to learn, easy to use, and can do almost anything I need it to when looking for info on a camper, parent or staff member. I find this system to be intuitive and walks you through the steps you need to be successful. 3. The Continual Growth. CampMinder has been through serveral versions since it's inception and the team there is always looking to make the lives of us camp folks easier. They ask the right questions, and do their best to deliver.

Nachteile:

As a long time CampMinder user, I have witnessed some growing pains as they have expanded their client base and thus their client support team. On occasion, the support team offers "101" or beginner level assitance for a user that is operating at a "301" or advanced level. That said, the customer service is always been attentive, kind, warm and determined to get an answer for me.

Best Camp Software for camp with 50 or more campers/week

Kommentare: The BEST! After several years using an overpriced, underserviced product, CampMinder blew me away! Every time I have asked for something to enhance my program, they have provided it, with the best customer service.

Vorteile:

The integration of the parent app, as well as parent communication is wonderful. I especially like the scheduling capabilities as well. The customer service and help center is incredible. I feel like they are truly helping ease the process and care about my success!

Nachteile:

The lack of a specific app for staff members

CampMinder is a vital system for summer camp management

Vorteile:

It is so user friendly, and allows me to access so much information in so many ways. The scheduling tab has saved me hours of doing that by hand, and the reports that I can run tell me quite literally everything I could possibly need or want to know. Their customer support is some of the best I've ever worked with as well. I always joke that when I call them I'm calling my "best friends" because they are always so kind and helpful. They are also always very understanding of the hectic environment that a summer camp can be.

Nachteile:

It can be a little overwhelming to learn to use at first, but once you learn it's very user friendly!

Perfect if you camp has limited sessions.

Kommentare: The culture of the organization seems great, and they are really loyal to and proud of their product. They have grand visions and great ideas for their product as well, but in my experience many of these visions never pan out, or pan out years and years after they're expected, and aren't free. We're a year-round camp with many, many sessions, and the software simply isn't flexible to manage those things with unique applications, and the lack of cooperation for API access makes it worse. If you're a camp that just has a few basic sessions a year, this is probably simple and easy....but for us, this isn't ideal, and product upgrades and development take too long.

Vorteile:

Staff onboarding is great. The staff application, collection of documents needed for onboarding, etc, works really well.

Nachteile:

Not mobile friendly. That is definitely my least favorite thing about it. There are "app" options, and they've introduced some API options, but it makes an already expensive software way more expensive.

Best in the Biz!

Kommentare: LOVE LOVE LOVE!! MUCH MUCH LOVE! The staff are fabulous at all levels -- knowledgeable, kind, creative and friendly -- the system is amazing -- it is designed for camps -- and it works!

Vorteile:

It's truly hard to find anything wrong with this amazing product. There are always tweaks that can be found when a system has been used for a while, but our experience has been wonderful and worth every penny!

Nachteile:

Making the system more smart phone friendly for forms and payments as well as registration would be something our camp parents would suggest. The system uses a lot of bandwidth because of it's massive abilities, and while this is a positive, in very rural settings it can be a negative at times as well. My least favorite part of it is that the set up for our particular camp programs does not pull enrollment from the overall capacity, so we have had to set up a system outside of it to manage our programs. This is because we run 3 programs in every session and the programs don't communicate with overall capacity. We hope this will change soon. We're also anxious for parents to be able to set up their own autopay options without our staff needing to manage these choices internally.

CampMinder Rocks!

Kommentare: My Client Success Manager was extremely helpful and patient during my training. The entire customer service team is friendly, efficient and helpful. When I have a challenging question, they work with me to get an answer. The customer service availability...especially during season, is unbelievable. They are always there to help. The system is easy to use and navigate. We have saved hours of work in organizing and filing paperwork.

Vorteile:

I love that we were able to eliminate paper registration. It was life changing to get rid of paper! No more shuffling through binders of paper to access information. Everything we need to know about a camper is at our fingertips. The parents were thrilled...and next year they just have to update.

Nachteile:

I was able to work around it...but two things I find challenging are... 1. You cannot send more than one or large attachments through CampMinder emails. 2. There is a bit of a steep learning curve in creating reports with the correct selection criteria.

Perfect database for camp registration!

Kommentare: Campminder is a great company to work with because of the quality and functionality of the product and the awesome people who work there!

Vorteile:

Campminder is a great database because they understand the needs what year-round camp professionals need in a registration system. Also, all of their customer service reps are helpful, friendly and quick to find solutions and fix issues.

Nachteile:

They are open to feedback and implementing changes across the entire system but it can take time.

A software designed for camps by people who have run them!

Kommentare: CampMinder has allowed us to get all of our information we need for camp in one place, and to create new, customized reports whenever we need them. The customer service and client success managers have been super helpful in ensuring our first year worked quite smoothly!

Vorteile:

The family accounts make it easy for returning families to apply while ensuring that all of their childrens' information is up- to-date and accurate.

Nachteile:

Sometimes it is a little difficult to find the right settings to make the changes I want.

Why we chose CampMinder

Vorteile:

Our camp is a safety camp. It is a four week day camp. In our old system, a lot of the features we have in Campminder were in separate places. In CampMinder, at the initial screen, I can identify the camper, identifying characteristics, parent info and so much more. All of my reporting is in one area and student placement in the individual classroom is more simplified. We are enjoying discovering all of the things CampMinder can do!

Nachteile:

The only downside is that since we are new users, discovering all of the nuances of the application.

CampMinder is a very good platform for camp management with truly great customer service.

Kommentare: Before we adopted CampMinder we were managing our business with spreadsheets, so adoption of the software has been a serious game-changer for us. While any good platform would have been a huge upgrade, we have been consistently impressed with CampMinder's customer service that made integration go very smoothly and has helped us realize the maximum benefit from our integration efforts. CampMinder's pace of innovation is outstanding and we are very happy to have adopted this platform. The ratio of function-to-cost (and customer service) is also extremely high -- I am very impressed with what we get for the cost. The no-nonsense approach to pricing is also very attractive to me (flat rate, no contracts, no data-hostage gotchas). I also appreciate that CampMinder presents a very high quality face to our camp families -- CampMinder's recognition that our customers are ultimately their customers is highly productive and reassuring. This attitude that "we're all in this together" is one of the keys to their success.

Vorteile:

Outstanding customer service: fast, friendly, and genuinely interested in the success of our camp. The philosophical anchor to base the presentation of data around the relationship that the campers have to one another and the camp programs makes it very natural and useful to organized camping, which is fundamentally an enterprise engaged in relationship building. The functionality of the platform has been as advertised and rock-solid in terms of maturity and up-time. Finally, the company seems committed to growth and evolving the platform to meet the changing needs of camper families and the camps they serve -- in the three years we've been with them, we've seen consistent growth and we have especially appreciated efforts to involve us in charting their growth map.

Nachteile:

I have minor quibbles with some of the functionality but mostly only regarding their "beta" initiatives. I would, of course, like these to converge faster -- but I don't think that CampMinder is dragging their feet, just resource limited like we all are. There are things that I wish it had -- a solid app for parents, for example -- but these are more of a "wish-list" kind of critique, not a dislike.

CampMinder - Our Summer Camp Database Solution

Kommentare: Working with CampMinder has helped us feel confident that the data in the database is accurate. In the past, we worked with other online camp database software that had us constantly questioning if the reports we were pulling were complete and accurate. This is a non-issue with CampMinder. We have been able to move our forms and documents online for parents to fill out and for us to be able to report on. This has helped us become more environmentally friendly, since we are no longer requiring multiple paper forms. We also feel well taken care of when calling in with questions, their customer service team is fantastic.

Vorteile:

CampMinder has impeccable customer service. The software is user friendly and inclusive. Parents and Staff have an easy time navigating and using the features of this program. I love the bunking module because it saves an incredible amount of time. The reporting system is very versatile as well. I like that I am able to follow a person throughout all of their interactions over years with the unified person record. It allows me to see a person as a former camper, former staff member, and a parent of an enrolled camper all in one easy to understand record.

Nachteile:

Some of the modules cost additional money, our camp sees many children, but we do not have the high rates that some other camps charge, so we have to do without some of the modules such as fundraising, because the cost is not something we can incur at this point. I also wish there were a better way to report and email groups across seasons. You can produce reports in different seasons, but across seasons is currently impossible as far as I know.

Great Camp software

Kommentare: CampMinder has allowed us to streamline our registration process and enabled us to have so much access to information via the various reports that we can run through the system. The software has allowed us to better track how students find out about us and follow up on leads and inquiries. We are able to track the workload and enrollment numbers at any time.

Vorteile:

CampMinder is very user-friendly and has all the features needed for effective enrollment management. From being able to run enrollment reports, to be able to see if a parent opened and read an email, to allow parents to register their child for camp and make payments online at their convenience. CampMinder has helped our organization bring our enrollment process to the 21 century. Before getting CampMinder we were still registering students via a paper system. CampMinder has allowed us to have access to so much more information at our fingertips.

Nachteile:

There is no adult module and adults have to register themselves as children. Our adult students do not like having to use a workaround to register online. However, our adult students still love that they can sign up online at their convenience and make payments. Although this is what I like least about the software, CampMinder is working on an adult module at the moment and it is currently in Beta testing. Our adult students will be thrilled when this module is available to them.

CM Review

Kommentare: My overall experience with CampMinder has been great! I think the customer service is awesome! I have used CampMinder for 2 different camps but I have never had proper training, so I tend to teach myself a lot and it's very helpful to have people who are friendly and understanding in the call center to assist! so thanks for that!

Vorteile:

I really like having the ability to pull reports and that they generate quickly. I like that CampMinder isn't just a registration service, but it has budgeting, HR, bunking, travel, newsletters, health center, etc. features. This is really helpful for camps who are not affiliated with an organization such as a JCC or a YMCA.

Nachteile:

That I have to pull a report just to see the number of campers registered in one session rather than clicking on it and a having a roster pop up. I also don't like that CampMinder isn't compatible with many other software services-this makes camps have to do double entries.

Camp Minder is definitely worth checking into for your company!

Kommentare: I like Camp Minder because they are willing to help you create , build, solve and to be available to be there for you when you need help!

Vorteile:

I like this software because it has tutorials that can help you create or figure out what you need for your business. It also helps train your staff and it does not require a strong learning curve. Meaning that it is easy to train someone how to use the system . It also provides a way to make some things accessible to your staff and personal things restricted. I also like that you can call someone for help and get help within a reasonable amount of time. I also like the fact that you can add features and work with camp Minder to figure out to add or take away things you want or may not want.

Nachteile:

Like with anything learning a new system and change requires some extra attention and time. Being patient in the creation of putting together what we wanted for our program. Also realizing that we needed to add some things after we thought we had it all ready can be a little frustrating, but be patient and it will be worth it.

A Camp Database Built for Camp People

Vorteile:

CampMinder is the most essential tool to run our camp. It houses all of the camper and camper family information, staff information, financial information, travel information, summer blogs and photos, AND does mass communications, unlimited reporting and much more. The best part- the staff at CampMinder are incredibly helpful, endlessly patient, and very responsive. You can call them anytime (during the summer, literally anytime, but during the off-season it is normal business hours) and they are always willing to help you find a solution, hop on a screen share, or investigate things on your behalf. They're great!

Nachteile:

I wish the financials and communication pieces could be overhauled. In the communication realm, you can't update an email list for a mass email- you have to filter with many criteria to get a certain list. Financials are not always clear, and there are no options for multiple household payments (divorced parents), or manually scheduled payments. The batch billing as a whole is very confusing, as are the financial reports that are generated.

Mid season start date? No problem!

Kommentare: CampMinder is all I've known in my current position and I honestly cannot imagine doing my job without it. It keeps me organized and has so many features built in to help me help our families and campers come out to camp and enjoy the enrollment process.

Vorteile:

I was hired half way through our summer season and my learning period by necessity was quick. I had used the software briefly before but not at the same rate and regularity as I now needed to. I had a 30 minute overview with a co-worker but they were needed in other areas of camp so I was directed to learn with the videos. Having experienced some 'educational videos' before I was skeptical but after watching a few I was hooked. Even now, months later, I can open up the video I need and refresh my memory in about 7 minutes without having to chase down a coworker, explain the knowledge gap, walk me through it, and then return them to their task. When I can't figure out the problem with the video (or its a specific report I need to run), I call my friendly customer service reps and have a blast learning with them. They are always able to talk me through what I needed to do and never make me feel bad for reaching out, even if it seems to be an easy solution. And when I had a report that was very complicated (lots of data with overlapping variables), they made sure I knew exactly what and why I clicked each option- and gave me time to write it down for next year!

Nachteile:

We have some families with multiple adults per child and I never am 100% certain who to call for things like Lost and Found or Waitlist spots, I wish I could have an easy way to know which adult is the main point of contact.

We LOVE CampMinder!

Kommentare: I wish every business was more like CampMinder - truly motivated by the community they serve, constantly seeking to improve and build on an already great product, and truly kind and invested in the work we do.

Vorteile:

CampMinder is the perfect solution for our camp - it let's us work more efficiently and focus more on our campers than paperwork! The thing I love most about this company, is that they are constantly updating, growing, and changing to stay current with the trends in our industry. Their customer service is incredible - I can't tell you how many times I've called with a crazy request or question, and they have a solution.

Nachteile:

Our camp has some very specific needs that don't fall into some of the traditional models they provide. That being said, the customization features of their forms and modules allows us to create a CampMinder that is tailored to our specific needs. They were incredibly helpful in the process of determining how the software could best fit our exact needs.

Best Decision We Ever Made

Kommentare: It's so much easier to look at growth than before we had CampMinder and when we have a question, someone is there to walk us through what we need.

Vorteile:

Excellent customer support, user-friendly, and a dream for gathering statistics. We're able to run reports easily, make notes, and scan information that we can access from year-to-year.

Nachteile:

We wish we could schedule emails and attaching photos in emails is a little difficult.

CampMinder Pays for Itself

Kommentare: We offer financial assistance to many of our campers and many of our donors want to know specific information about our campers' demographics. CampMinder helps up collect all the information we need quickly and easily.

Vorteile:

The CampMinder software is so robust that I can create all kinds of reports to learn all kinds of things about our campers. I have never had a problem reaching someone from customer support when I cannot figure out how to do something, but usually I can find my answers in the videos. I also like being able to do the billing through the program. The program is so good that it saves my employer money because they only need a part-time registrar.

Nachteile:

The definitions list in the reports building section is not as intuitive as it could be.

Great product - growing company

Vorteile:

I love what it does in terms of organizational management. We have used three different programs over the past 15 years and it has handled it has worked the best. They work closely with you on customizing your needs and making sure that you are set up to use it best for your site.

Nachteile:

The photo plug in has much to be desired. It works but often struggles. It would also be great if they could build in a plug in that res'ed down the pictures for camps that have slow internet on site. Their company is great and customer service is awesome when you can get them on the phone. We started with them pretty early on and as they have grown, it has been harder to get a hold of support.

Campminder

Kommentare: We have realized the benefits of being able to have organized communication, records of our campers, and a system for parents to use to apply and continue with their child's enrollment!

Vorteile:

I love how we are able to use the tag system to organize our campers effectively. It works great for what our program is trying to accomplish. I love how we can organize our data, too.

Nachteile:

Campminder has not always been the easiest for our staff to learn how to use. I wish that there were ways to make it easier for new users!

Managing a camp? CampMinder is the thing for you.

Vorteile:

Simply put: the power! CampMinder has a modular system that should be able to fit any camp of any size. From billing to medical to simple camper registration it can do it all. While it can take some time to learn things, their website and manual are very helpful. And their customer service is second to none and if you can't find an answer yourself, they will help you. We are a camp with over 1,000 unique campers per summer and CampMinder makes things a breeze.

Nachteile:

So, it isn't the software itself, but their advanced documentation is lacking. There have been instances when frontline customer service said something wasn't possible and i was able to figure out how to do it. That isn't ideal. Also, their support for divorced or separated families is not ideal.

Easy to use but can use some improvements

Vorteile:

I like the fact that you can store all campers and staff data in one place and that it really helps manage things like paperwork, notes about the individual, treatments, and their history with our camp. I also like the fact that if you can't figure something out you can either head over to the help section and see how to find the solution or you can contact a customer support and they can get you what you need to know.

Nachteile:

The way that it is set up could be a little more user friendly. There are buttons and tools that don't make a lot of sense as to where they are in the menu. It is also hard when you are relying on this software to keep track of important information and there are a lot of outages. You should always have a back up system just in case.

Software for camp people by camp people

Kommentare: CampMinder's exceptional customer experience is what stands out to me the most when I think of my overall experience. From the first time I started working with CM and their representatives I felt a genuine care for my program and consider CampMinder a big part of my extended camp family.

Vorteile:

I loved that a software was created by people who were as committed to camp as those who spend their days preparing for each summer. The software itself is great and just continues to get better. Not every camp is for everyone but CampMinder is great for every camp. CampMinder feels like part of our camp family. Every member of the CM team goes above and beyond to help with whatever our needs are.

Nachteile:

I can't schedule emails - that is my biggest complaint at this time.

CampMinder review

Kommentare: Fantastic - has improved the experience for our admin team as well as parents and staff.

Vorteile:

Very comprehensive, plenty of features to accommodate a variety of different camp structures (day camp, overnight camp, etc.). Powerful reporting features make the platform even more customizable. Transportation module works very well for day camps. Email/communication with parents and staff works great and allows us to customize mass emails and save time.

Nachteile:

Sometimes there are long load times - lots of waiting for pages to load. Not able to integrate with other digitals tools we use (Google Sheets, etc.) Sometimes there are too many features (i.e. with medical data collection) that we wish we could turn off.
