It does what it needs to

Vorteile:

They give you a lot of features you need for scheduling and client management in a secure place.

Nachteile:

It is definitely not pretty. You would think that something that has been around for a while would have a better user interface. There is also a huge learning curve for all of our Therapist and other users.

Kommentare: I like Best notes, I think it is well rounded, helpful, and I am used to using it and my only complaint is small glitches. It feels confidential and I dont worry about HIPPA

Vorteile:

I like Its easy log in, it being Its own app. LOVE that it autosaves, and how easy it is to sign, use notes, and use the ledger.

Nachteile:

It has many glitches. For example I often have to log out and log back in as it doesnt let me click the "med/clinical." This is often quite frustrating

Vorteile:

I like that things auto-populate, it makes completing documentation more easier and more efficient.

Nachteile:

It's not very user friendly. I don't like that I can't delete documents that are uploaded into a clients file.

BestNotes gets the job done.

BestNotes is organizational and easy to follow.

BestNotes seemed to never be updated looks wise.

Kommentare: My overall experience has been good, except the times when things get closed without saving.

Vorteile:

Once you learn the system it is easy to use. I like that you can customize your dashboard.

Nachteile:

Therapy notes to not automatically save and if a note is accidentally closed you lose everything. Also, as a therapist I would like to have a separate master treatment plan, not combined with other service MTP.

Kommentare: It is the best software I have used so far.

Vorteile:

I love the calendar and some of the formatting. I have been able to navigate forms and the med clinical tab fairly easily.

Nachteile:

I don't like when the program experiences glitches but this is universal to all software.

Great Platform.

Kommentare: my overall experience with best notes is good. I like many of the features that are provided and not much i would want to change.

Vorteile:

Lots of features are easily intuitive and make notes easier esspecially for recurrent clients. My favorite feature is linking BN with my personal calendar, It makes life much easier.

Nachteile:

There is a learning curve for all of what BN can do. It takes a while to use BN to its full potiential.

Kommentare: Overall positive I don't have any real issues with BN.

Vorteile:

It is easy to access and understand how to use.

Nachteile:

Cannot communicate with others on BN have to use outside emails.

Kommentare: It gives me a headaches but after months of training, I finally figured it out.

Vorteile:

The calendar is visually pleasing and easy to understand.

Nachteile:

Very glitchy. When navigating client ledgers, it can be hard to find documents, even if you search for them in the search bar/

Best notes first timer

Kommentare: Enjoyable. This is my first time using beast notes and I though it was easy to adjust to the system.

Vorteile:

Easy and simple. I love the feature that we can copy over the last prog note!

Nachteile:

The colors and layout can be meh. I wish more features could be added when transferring info in other documents such CDAs to MTP and the application info with medical history transferred (auto populated) to the CDA template.

Amazing EMAR System

Kommentare: It has been a positive experience, it's extremely easy to use and I would recommend this to other facilites in a heartbeat.

Vorteile:

I love how easy it is to access and print out records. It's simple for me to pull records with the click of a button. I like also how we can keep HR files in bestnotes as well as clients. The "tagging" system makes it easier to find people under certain tags.

Nachteile:

Unable to think of something that I do not like.

BestNotes at a small agency

Kommentare: Give your clinical and support staff enough time and training to get used to the transition to the EHR. Make sure you have a couple of power users on the team to assist others, and set very clear expectations in advance on how your team is to use the product, especially with the treatment planning and calendar features. I suggest having a learning community rather than simply trainings because staff got overwhelmed and didn’t recall what was learned.

Vorteile:

We were able to get through a CARF survey with not a lot of difficulty. The product made it easy for the consultant and auditor to evaluate the charts. It also makes it simpler to set and track charting metrics for the clinicians.

Nachteile:

You will pay extra for using features you need like Outcome measures and telehealth. It would be helpful to be able select a date range in a chart for the purposes of releasing records.

You Get What You Pay For

Kommentare: I really wanted to love BestNotes but I regretted my decision straight away. Having the trial was useless because the system is cumbersome but I thought it was just me. Thus stuck with in site of my concern, hoping things would get easier/better but that never happened. Lesson learned for selecting them based on a non-clinician referral who clearly didn't know any better. BestNotes reps acknowledge that little has changed with the platform in the past 15 years (since its inception) and it shows. They insist a new product is underway although they have no information on when it will be released. Think this said to merely pacify customers. I assume they gain and keep some customers due to the low price but using the software is like stepping into a time warp. I'd rather pay more money for a modern, user friendly system that can be used across device and is truly web based rather than a low price for a grossly outdated system. This EHR needs a complete overall!

Vorteile:

The price for this EHR is phenomenal and BestNotes has the potential to be great. I like that you can add your own customized forms. The scripted treatment plan goals are better than most as they are measurable (but BestNotes did take some short cuts by simply repeating the same goals over and over).

Nachteile:

As many users have been indicating since 2016, BestNotes is looks like something from the 1900's. Thus the systems uses a lot of odd symbols from the 1990's (such as a floppy disk).There seems to be no consistency with font size across pages. Some of the templates have typos. Minor clients that require parental signature consent forms is ridiculously complicated. They systems uses a lot of their own made up acronyms that are confusing. Many of the videos/self help guides are outdated or otherwise irrelevant. It is clunky, grossly outdated, has an ugly interface, and is not intuitive. This system is not web based, you have to download the software application on your computer, the client portal is practically useless since clients cant self schedule or pay a bill there, and have to contract with a third party for billing thereby increasing your costs. Sadly, the staff are nice enough but can be a bit condescending if you cant quickly make sense out of the madness that is BestNotes that they have normalized.
