I love the way activities require a follow up date if they are staying open. It eliminates the chance of something being forgotten or falling under our radar.
Integration with other software is faulty. New windows create clutter.

So easy to use
Kommentare: Very good experience with this program nothing bad to say about them.
Vorteile:
Have all the information about the client, policies, coverage and company in just a couple of clicks. Makes you day very useful
Nachteile:
Is expensive for the package you choose but if you gone have a lot of business this is the right fit for you.
Why Applied Epic over all others
Kommentare: Transitioning from Applied Agency Manager (TAM) to Epic was not a quick process, it was often times painful but I can honestly say 18 months later, it is worth it from all angles (service, production and management). The support network (which you must choose on your own to use) in place to assist you in any avenue is superior to all other products I am aware of, you just have to make sure you are taking advantage of them.
Vorteile:
My most favorite parts of the software center around the built in workflows and the ability to keep the "story" of an item, the account, a renewal etc. all together in one place. It takes a lot of time to set the system up correctly when you migrate to Applied Epic, but 18 months later, we have received wonderful feedback from an outside consultant about how we are using the system properly, the way it was intended. If you are not using it the way it was meant to be used, you are not going to reap the benefits of what the software really are.
Nachteile:
My least favorite piece of the software are the reports/report layouts. It takes a lot of practice, use and analytical thinking to piece together the reports you need into a format that is most useful for you. It is rare that one report will provide the information needed but rather a combination/review of two or more reports to get to the data you really want...such as retention. That being said, I do believe Applied has helped eliminate the reporting frustration through their Applied Analytics tool.
Best of the Available Agency Management Systems

Over all I think EPIC s ok, but it clearly does not live up to its name as being "EPIC"
Personally I think that Vision did many things better then EPIC, specifically when it comes to search ability of attachments.
Vorteile:
I like how EPIC has built upon its predecessors TAM, Applied and Vision so that some of your past experience on their older systems can be applied to the new system. Attachments and emails are very easy to add to the system to be stored.
Nachteile:
Many features in EPIC are worse than they were in previous versions. 1 - Attachment Folders were much better in Vision then Epic. Easier to find files than it is now 2 - canceling a policy in Epic does not change the expiration date on the policy in Epic as it historically did in Vision. 3- The attachment sorting and search function is worse now then in Vision. 4 - Many functions within policy acords such as import and export are not accessible from some screens that they should be accessible. 5 - System still lacks any real visual way for tracking in process items in ways that are popular with software and program developers. 6- System lacks the ability to easily store underwriter contacts information on a global level 7- Sending emails from within Epic lack most of the functionality within Outlook including signatures.

Complicated but efficient

We upgraded from Applied Vision and it is a much more modern program. Takes a solid year to learn the program effectively and is hard to teach new users because there are so many functions. Overall it is definitely an upgrade.
Nachteile:
Hard to learn and there are so many “activities” that I feel are unnecessary. Too many steps to go through to do a simple task.
Functional in some ways
Vorteile:
It is user friendly. Clear and easy to understand. The reports are nice to have.
Nachteile:
The certificate process is redundant. The box checking is ridiculous. Everything takes 3x as long. The accounting is not fun either.
Great Insurance Platform
Kommentare: Overall the product does what we need and offers more than enough data management to help with all of our services.
Vorteile:
It takes some time to learn the system, but the more I use it the more I like it. My agency has been running with this since I came on board and it has some really great features.
Nachteile:
As much as I like the product it does require thorough training. I had to take thorough notes and spend quite a few hours of due diligence to figure out some of the basic functions.
Great system
Vorteile:
This is a powerful Agency Management Software. It can do almost anything you need it to do, and the training tools that come with it are very helpful. It can take a while to really understand how to use the system to the fullest, but once you do, it is very powerful. I like how easy it is to route tasks through the system and keep the information organized.
Nachteile:
Just that it isn't necessarily intuitive. You can usually figure it out after making a few wrong clicks, and it makes it difficult to mess anything up, but it can sometimes cause some head scratching at first.
Applied Epic Review
Vorteile:
This software does it all! It's an awesome cloud based app that allows us to better manage our customer relationships, sales opps, accounting, financial reporting, etc...
Nachteile:
Love this software - there isn't anything I dislike about it at the moment.

Modern agency managment system
Kommentare: Overall, we tested the product and went with another system that made more sense for our smaller agency. (less than 5 employees)
Vorteile:
This system is fast and efficient to keep all your clients information organize and within the click of the mouse.
Nachteile:
Applied Epic is rather expensive for smaller agencies.
The best Insurance platform to use
Kommentare: We worked for one of the biggest Insurance companies in US, Assured partners. We have all the documents needed in the platform, it was very easy to find them, dowload, upload etc. We sis policy checking, endorsements, reconciliations. The app was pretty quick.0
Vorteile:
How easy was to log in and work. Easy to navigate.
Nachteile:
Nothing major, sometimes the app log off but you can log in right after.
Applied Epic
Vorteile:
Makes life as an agent so much simpler. It allows for ease of use, tracking the client and their needs, as compared to paper and pencil.
Nachteile:
There honestly is nothing that I don't like.
Worth the switch but you need patience
Kommentare: Our president loves the sales pipeline. It gives him the opportunity to visually SEE what the sales people are doing on a weekly basis which he loves. If you want to grow your sales and see exactly what's going on with each sales opportunity then EPIC is the way to go.
Vorteile:
I like that with the sales part of EPIC, you can customize to exactly how your agency handles it's sales pipeline... it's NOT one size fits all... you can adjust how many stages in the sales pipeline, what the stages are called, reasons for not getting a sale, etc. I also like the quick reports. I have so many people who ask me for reports all the time. I don't want them to access to run reports but I can set up the report they want and send that report to them so they can run it whenever they want.
Nachteile:
On the accounting side, it's very unforgiving... you have to do things exactly EPIC's way and that can be VERY confusing in the beginning since its so different from TAM especially how commissions are entered. So you must be patient, go slowly and don't try to rush because then you create more problems. Also, make sure your accounting dept is fully involved in the configuration... ours wasn't and it created a lot of problems in the beginning that we're still sorting out.
Epic-Review
Kommentare: Epic has really streamlined a lot of our work load, and automated much of it. the downloads have everything on our system easily and accurately
Vorteile:
I like how once you a familiar with epic there are many useful tools with it and how it flows, the ability to move files within in just a few clicks Epic is great. The integration of client detail on to the documents your preparing is a great time saver as well. Also loving the ability to copy and paste off of attachments, once I have a bill of sale there is no need to type out the vin# several times as i'm processing my changes.
Nachteile:
Really I don't find anything I would call negative about Epic, although it really took a while to get use to the program and all its features, I certainly felt like I was little overwhelmed at first, but now I would not want to go back to our old system.
EPIC Review from Marketing Perspective
Kommentare: I've been using the system since 12/19/18 and feel I could be more productive than what I am. I don't feel I'm using the system as well as I could. I was disappointed with the training. I am more a hands-on learner vs. watching someone show us how to do things on the screen.
Vorteile:
I primarily use the marketing tools. I like where you can send out submissions all at once and can personalize each cover memo. I feel that I do not use the system as well as I could. At times I feel there are more steps than are necessary. However, this could because I'm not using as well as I should.
Nachteile:
I feel the system could have better search capabilities. In our previous system with Applied you could do a multi search such as looking for submission; endorsements; experience mods, etc. all at the same time.
A Must Have for Agents that do alot of Marketing
Kommentare: I like the product. It's like TAM 2.0. It's a must have if you are doing alot of marketing within your agency.
Vorteile:
I love the marketing capabilities. You are easily able to input and track which markets you have sent accounts out to and what has come back. It helps alot when you are working with a team and someone needs to handle your accounts when you are out of the office.
Nachteile:
Sometimes the fields and screens can be confusing especially when you are still learning the software. It helps when the administrator can remove unnecessary steps/screens you don't need to use.
Hard to learn, clunky user interface, limited viewing options
Vorteile:
It had the features needed to do the job. Integrates microsoft outlook with Epic. Filter functions works great.
Nachteile:
The user interface is not very intuitive; when viewing some tabs containing a lot of information, there seems to be a lot of blank space, and instead the system forces users to scroll a very small window to view the contained information (such as commercial occupant units, different insurers on risk). The transaction screen seems overly complicated and functions such as adjusting transaction types after creating the transactions, revising transactions after financing them are absent.
Applied Epic Review
Kommentare: Overall, I have not had any major problems with Applied Epic. It is not hard to learn how to utilize all the Applied Epic offers in our everyday business.
Vorteile:
I like the ease of navigating in Applied Epic. I do accounting as well as account manager on the insurance side. The general ledger is thorough on disbursements and generating deposits. I also like that we can generate accurate accounting reports.
Nachteile:
A small problem I have is not being able to delete an attachment or activity.
Better for P & C than employee benefits
Kommentare: While I'm sure that the information it required was beneficial to someone in the company, it frustrated account management staff due to the length of time needed for one/any kind of task.
Vorteile:
It's in depth information that you could supply on both the client and then any client contacts pertaining to the group. I like that you could check off if the client prefers phone calls over emails, etc.
Nachteile:
The system is geared towards P & C Benefits, not for employee benefits. Many of the fields are not necessary in the benefit world and vice versus many fields that could/should be available are not. Each section took a long time to complete. For example, entering in any notes or loading in employee's enrollment forms - you would have to input specific fields in order proceed to next specific field. If you didn't know a field or it didn't apply, you cannot leave it blank - something must be input. On the same thread, it seems you have to by-pass three info screens in order to input ONE easy thing. Each task is overwhelmed with info needed to be input.
Applied EPIC
Kommentare: I have had no issues in using EPIC at this time.
Vorteile:
My favorite thing about EPIC is the marketing platform! I love that you can tailor each submission for each carrier.
Nachteile:
I would like to see a way to label multiple lines of the same type of coverage to differentiate each one in the master marketing submission. This would make it easier to choose the correct application when dividing into individual submissions.

Vorteile:
I use this software everyday. Different offices can customize processes to better fit.
Nachteile:
Customization requires high level access.
Epic Review
Kommentare: Epic is a great system and they are continually updating it for better functionality
Vorteile:
The entire system works integrated very well. Drag and Drop Emails, Quotes, and Marketing module are super useful
Nachteile:
There are some areas - like renewal (new section) that doesn't have enough filters, the home screen cannot sort by carriers as it is not a column
EPIC Review
Kommentare: My overall experience with Applied Epic has been great.
Vorteile:
I like that it is very easy to use. All of our insured's information is help in one place and it is extremely convenient for updates to insured's information.
Nachteile:
There really isn't anything that I like least about this software. I am thankful that this is what our company uses.
Epic is EPIC
Vorteile:
The ease of access, such as being able to email directly from within the system, keeping all files in one place and how it is all organized. At first glance in the quicklinks, able to access company portals directly through Epic.
Nachteile:
It is geared to the United States. Other than that, not much else.
Excellent Program
Vorteile:
Allows you to be very detailed. Very easy to service accounts, manage policies, certificates, and accounting.
Nachteile:
One suggestion would be to allow us to create signatures when faxing/emailing certificates vs having to type out a whole email each time. That would be a big time saver.
