Vorteile:

das unkomplizierte Handling bei OCR und PDF

Nachteile:

Über viele Jahre der Nutzung habe ich keinerlei Nachteile vonABBYY Finreader feststellen können!!!

Nur begrenzt kompatibel mit älteren Office-Versionen

Vorteile:

Nichts ist bei Finreader besser im Vergleich zum pdf-Transformer, den ich weiterhin sehr gerne verwende.

Nachteile:

Umwandlung von älteren Office-Versionen nur sehr eingeschränkt möglich!Word-Überschriften können nicht in Lesezeichen umgewandelt werden.

alles ist gut für meinen Bedarf, es gibt nichts was mir besonders wenig gefallen hätte. An der Oberfläche kann man immer noch optimieren

Kommentare: It helped me a lot in converting my scanned documents into searchable PDF files and extracting tables and text with a high degree of confidence.

Vorteile:

its accuracy in recognizing characters and formatting the output almost exact to the input file.

Nachteile:

That it does not have very sophisticated image preprocessing, for example in the detection and elimination of signatures and seals, which in some cases makes pages saturated with them unrecognizable by ABBY FineReader.

Unsolved problem with saving scanned PDF files - pages differ in size

Kommentare: Frustrating - it failed me after many years of service. The current service level is close to zero.

Vorteile:

I was quite OK with previous versions of ABBYY FineReader - been using it for about 10 years.

Nachteile:

However, ABBYY FineReader 16 on a Win 10 machine is saving scanned PDF docs with pages of different sizes. I did not find any solution in ABBYY knowledge base, and was not able to submit a service ticket since the SUBMIT button just did not respond without any hints. A typical case of product degradation :((

Nachteile:

can be hard to get used to, but it does everything you want it to do

The ability to calibrate the OCR and optimize the results by changing some of the algorithm attributes

it missing some crucial features such as of reading order settings in the OCR editor (RTL Vs LTR)

Nachteile:

I wanted to convert 2 word docs to PDF files and it did that but put them together.

What i like the most is how much detail you are able to manipulate with this software.

What i least liked was how difficult it was for me to learn my way around it.

Nachteile:

Of course the sense of ABBYY FineReader PDF is to create full access PDF documents with readable text. Maybe there COULD be a nice feature in adding additional pages to a scanned image with OR without previewing.

Great software for OCR!

Vorteile:

Software is easy to use and the pdf conversion and image recognition is pretty great. I compared it versus a few python algorithms and ABBYY performed better and with the advantage of creating a searchable file.

Nachteile:

The Mac functionality is pretty basic. It would need to have more features. Conversion from pdf to txt is good, but it could be better: some documents that used special symbols weren’t properly converted for example. This is important when using the software with documents in languages other than English.

A must app for any professional

Kommentare: I really love the app. It is my favorite productivity app hands down.

Vorteile:

It is a high quality productivity app. It has a lot of awesome features to process many different kind of file formats, especially PDFs. I have been using it since 2014, and it is my #1 productivity app.

Nachteile:

As a Mac user, I would love the app to be compatible with AppleScript for automatization purposes. Previous verions of the software (FineReader OCR Pro), is compatible with AppleScript.

Vorteile:

The variaty of language one can use when using different litteratures and when scanning and converting documents as well as editing.

Nachteile:

nothing really. It is a simple and efficient.

ABBY is the greatest but needs to improve in some features.

Kommentare: I use ABBYY FineReader PDF to convert scanned PDFs to Excel or Word so that they can be edited, I have been using ABBYY FineReader PDF for more than 4 years and I like this application as it provided a great OCR feature.

Vorteile:

ABBYY FineReader PDF has the best and most accurate OCR tool in the world. The ABBYY FineReader PDF OCR tool supports all languages, especially the most complicated ones like Arabic language. Also, the OCR gives high quality and accurate results and can be converted to Excel, Word, and text.

Nachteile:

ABBYY FineReader PDF is not the best PDF editor or viewer, the text editing is somehow more complicated than other PDF editor applications. I wish they could upgrade and enhance PDF editing features to become the most integrated PDF software.

Nachteile:

The conversion needs rather good quality originals to reduce misinterpretations or errors in recognition.
