Vorteile:

das unkomplizierte Handling bei OCR und PDF

Nachteile:

Über viele Jahre der Nutzung habe ich keinerlei Nachteile vonABBYY Finreader feststellen können!!!

Nur begrenzt kompatibel mit älteren Office-Versionen

Kommentare: Negativ, 'rausgeworfenes Geld

Vorteile:

Nichts ist bei Finreader besser im Vergleich zum pdf-Transformer, den ich weiterhin sehr gerne verwende.

Nachteile:

Umwandlung von älteren Office-Versionen nur sehr eingeschränkt möglich!Word-Überschriften können nicht in Lesezeichen umgewandelt werden.

Dass man auch komplizierte Aufgaben schnell erledigen kann.

Nachteile:

alles ist gut für meinen Bedarf, es gibt nichts was mir besonders wenig gefallen hätte. An der Oberfläche kann man immer noch optimieren

OK - but could be better

Kommentare: It's one of several utilities I use in my work process. I still like the program but I hope the next version will be a step forward and not backward like version 16 was.

Vorteile:

ABBYY FineReader PDF makes the best OCR when I have a project with many pages. The cropping function is also good.

Nachteile:

I still use version 15 which simply is better. Better OCR, better ropping, etc.

Use Abbyy as your pdf resder and editor

Best PDF Program

Kommentare: Love this program because it has the most effective ocr program I’ve used

Vorteile:

This is one of the most cost effective and easy to use products on the market. It is exceptionally user friendly.

Nachteile:

I wanted to convert 2 word docs to PDF files and it did that but put them together.

Warum ABBYY FineReader PDF gewählt wurde: Ocr wasn’t as good as ABBYY and wasn’t as effective or efficient time-wise.

Gründe für den Wechsel zu ABBYY FineReader PDF: It’s extremely expensive and not as good.

Easy to use no need to provide special training to users

slow conversion on high resolution images

A Game Changer

Vorteile:

It is great for editing PDFs and converting the images to documents

I wish that some of the features were easier to use

For more better quality for Japanese language required

reasonable price than Adobe PDF, it was a compromis solution.

Nachteile:

I miss really OCN Quality for Japanese and Comment function and "Prooing tools " like text adding, delete tools in PDF like Adobe.

ABBYY is a good product

Kommentare: It helps me with the paperwork. The biggest advantage for customers - works in Bulgarian

ABBYY is a good product at a good price that can be offered to customers. Interest in it is increasing.

Nachteile:

I've heard this in conversations from IT administrators. Consumers in organizations do not use the product because it is difficult for them.

Best ocr for archival historical documents, but not perfect

Kommentare: Good, but wish the ocr were were even better, and correctable.

Vorteile:

Does better than Adobe in ocr-ing messy archival documents for historical research. Still not perfect, though. Don't expect very great accuracy.

Nachteile:

There's no way to correct ocr mistakes like you can in Adobe acrobat.

A program suite very suitable even for home office/tiny business

Kommentare: All together I'm well satisfied with this product, helping me in multilingual documentation!

Nachteile:

Of course the sense of ABBYY FineReader PDF is to create full access PDF documents with readable text. Maybe there COULD be a nice feature in adding additional pages to a scanned image with OR without previewing.

Great software for OCR!

Vorteile:

Software is easy to use and the pdf conversion and image recognition is pretty great. I compared it versus a few python algorithms and ABBYY performed better and with the advantage of creating a searchable file.

Nachteile:

The Mac functionality is pretty basic. It would need to have more features. Conversion from pdf to txt is good, but it could be better: some documents that used special symbols weren’t properly converted for example. This is important when using the software with documents in languages other than English.

Uses and benefits of ABBYY

Kommentare: I have been using the tool for many years, it is very useful for archival work, facilitating the digitization of images, as well as the recognition of text, for consultation using tools such as the search engine and the PDF reader aloud.

Vorteile:

An excellent tool for research, OCR makes it easier for blind people to access documents by activating Word and PDF read-aloud tools. This is essential for consulting large amounts of text at university as well.

Nachteile:

When the source images are not of high quality, OCR fails, so it is necessary to edit by hand. This happens especially with old texts, with strange fonts, or with texts that have been highlighted.

The variaty of language one can use when using different litteratures and when scanning and converting documents as well as editing.

Nachteile:

nothing really. It is a simple and efficient.

Abbyy Reader Review

Kommentare: Expensive but saves time and has a great OCR. I would like AI added to improve OCR even more.

Vorteile:

Best OCR I have come across. That is the feature I use most. Would like to see AI added.

Nachteile:

The best PDF editor is PaperPort. I wish Abbyy had its features.

Easy, secure, speed, hard, regulary don't have problems

Nachteile:

It is an excellent product, it seems a little expensive to me but it is good, there is also a lot of complication to restore your program, it should be easier for the customer to recover their product

Excellent use of Abby FineReader Ver 16

ABBYY is great for historical research

Kommentare: I find it easy to use ABBYY reader, it's the best one on the market.

Vorteile:

I love the easiness of converting historical text into OCR, searchable text. I use it for various languages: English, Old Russian, Modern Russian, Turkish and Arabic.

Nachteile:

Once the document has been OCR converted, it's hard to save it in my documents folder.

Subscription

Kommentare: I like the product overall, but the price is a bit high. I also do not like the subscription payment terms.

Vorteile:

The ability to edit PDFs. The OCR is good also.

Nachteile:

The price. I would rather purchase the software, not paying a subscription.

Sometimes it recognizes falsely, above all when text is calligraphic or tilted

ABBYY for OCR

Vorteile:

ABBYY is incredibly fine-tuned to OCR and I trust it more than other OCR programs.

Nachteile:

ABBYY is not intuitive and others who do no use the program regularly find it difficult to navigate.
