Palm Tech Review
Kommentare: I started my inspection business in 2009 and was looking for software to use for my reports. I wanted something easy to use and affordable. I chose Palm~tech and have never looked back. I have been using then since day one and they have been great. Everything from customer support to software updates I have been very happy. The software is easy to use and change to my own specifications. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone in the inspection industry.

New apps are glitching and can be problematic.
Tech support tries but it is very slow process and majority of time you have to leave a message you cannot talk to someone. Overall palmtech was and has the potential to be a very good software choice

Simplicity, small learning curve. Doesnt have all the unnecessary bells, whistles and fluff. No training video needed for agents and clients.
Nachteile:
Tech support is nowhere near what it was when [sensitive content hidden] was still in charge. Support is very slow at getting issues resolved .

We do strive to answer each call that comes in during business hours, sometimes all the agents are on calls, but if you leave a voicemail they do call back in the order the calls come in. Untrustworthy Company
Kommentare: I purchased my original Palm-Tech software in 2014 and upgraded to Version 9 around 2021/22. What I didn't know about at the time was the purchase of Palm Tech by the Porch Group. That is when Palm-Tech went from a good company, with a solid easy to use product and outstanding client support, to a miserable, profits are everything, users beware company. They use all of "in" company words and phrases, "we understand your frustration", "we share your concern", "we apologize for the inconvenience", but to this company, these are all just meaningless words. In one Palm Tech response to a user review, they actually compared themselves and their new pay each month policy to Microsoft and the way they upgrade to a new version of Windows. While Microsoft eventually drops their support of say Windows 7, it is still a fully functional product. This IS NOT an apples-to-apples comparison, because Microsoft leaves its users with a FULLY functional software, Palm Tech does not! Palm Tech has left its users with a crippled product that functionally, is not remotely like the software product we purchased. Now, you call their support team about this issue, and you get a different reason for the problem each time you contact them. Or they simply state that they are not going to fix the problem, but you can use their new software and pay $50 per month forever and that will probably increase in the future. Save your money and secure your inspection software with a rupturable company and be aware, that ISN is also owned by the porch Group and is a sister company to Palm Tech.

The simplicity of the old versions, their customer support and paying once for the software.
Nachteile:
They cannot be trusted, and profits are now their number one priority.

Thank you for taking time to share your concerns. I am happy to respond. I have worked at Palmtech for many years and you are right that lots of things have changed over the years. Change is not always easy, but that doesn't mean it is bad. There are so many different devices people use now and moving away from software that is installed on local devices has made the program available on any device with a browser. It also has taken away the issues we have seen with Windows updates that sometimes can break the software. We have been able to add so many new features that have been requested by many inspectors over the years and partnering with ISN has allowed us to improve the software and offer new capabilities and resources. Our priority will always be to provide the best report-writing software and to help inspectors grow their business. We strive to give the best customer service possible. Kommentare: The Palmtech home inspection software has saved me many, many hours of time because of its ease of use and ability to pull from previous reports and add them to a current report that I’m creating.

What I like most about Palmtech is the Easy use of the software, it’s functionality, and all encompassing reporting system. The company has thought of everything needed for a professional, complete report.

After using several different report, writing software, Palmtech really has it all. There’s nothing the software program can’t do to complete a beautiful report that I’m proud to handoff to my clients.

Kommentare: Frustrating at first as I am with any new software but the customer service is the best. When I call I get to talk to a real person or leave a message and they call me right back

I really like the features ( Credit card and accounting feature, All my pictures are saved in the media library so I can add them if I need to revise my report )
Nachteile:
It took my a while to get the software figured out ( I'm not the most computer savvy person for sure ) But the more I use it the more I like it. The biggest con I have is It needs to save my comments permanently and not just for that inspection in the library

Not happy with Palm Tech Complete
Kommentare: Very good until I was forced to pay for and use a different version.
Vorteile:
Version 7 & 9 are easy to use and buyers think they are very easy to understand.
Nachteile:
When I bought Palm Tech 7. I paid for it and was informed it was mine to use forever. After over 10 years of use palm tech discontinued support of it and I bought “Complete and hated it, finally was told I could download version 9 but would still have to pay the monthly fee. I don’t think I should have to pay a monthly fee for something I purchased and was told I could use it forever.

Hi Lewis, Thanks for your feedback. I understand the frustration of changing to newer software as it can be a challenge. But change is not always bad once you adjust. You can save so much time and energy running your business and creating reports with Palmtech Complete. Version 7 was released when older Windows operating systems were still being used, it was a one-time purchase that you could use for as long as it kept working. Unfortunately, the infrastructure supporting version 7 was not up to modern security standards, and we had to shut it down. I am glad that version 9 is working out for you and encourage you to take another look at Palmtech Complete and all that it has to offer.
Great older product, new deals a breach of contract.
Kommentare: Older version, i recommended to many new inspectors. Cant say i will on the new plan. Cant see paying $500 a year long term.

They shut my repoting system down with little warning. Got me in a bind in mid inspection reporting to a client. Now wanting to charge me 500 a year to use it. Looks like there trying to kill a good business.

Hi Terry, We understand your frustration regarding the recent changes to our software. We did not shut down your software, we shut down the cloud that supported it. We began communicating about the sunsetting of the older version months before the shutdown to provide ample time for transition. The server supporting the old software was outdated and no longer met current security standards, necessitating the shutdown. We have always promised to support the current version and the version before and we will continue to do that. Thank you for your many years using Palmtech. The new plan, although it comes with a cost, offers enhanced features and improved security that are crucial for maintaining high-quality service and protecting client data. We appreciate your understanding and hope you see the long-term benefits of this upgrade for your inspection reporting needs.
Inspector for 5 years laptop, switched to mobile phone
Kommentare: In my last month as inspector loved saving time on reports. Realtors liked the ability to create RFR from the software/report they got.
Vorteile:
Greatly reduced need for report editting offsite.
Nachteile:
Had to learn how to use it with youtube videos and making mock inspections to fine tune both report and how to enter data.

Solid software that has been around for a while
Vorteile:
This software is easy to use and creates professional looking reports. It's solid software with a local office to back it up.
Nachteile:
It is a little dated in terms of look and feel. The software is also a little word heavy. Tech support may not be as instantaneous as some other software companies.
Palm-tech complete
Kommentare: My experience thus far with Palm-tech complete is negative. I am ready to give up and demand my money back.
Vorteile:
I loved my Version 8 and versions prior to 8. I knew my way around the software.
Nachteile:
I unfortunately was forced to make a decision after learning that I won't be able to access my Version 8 after 1/31/2024. I purchased Palm-tech complete and can not figure it out. It is sooo different. I've spent about 40 hours so far trying to customize it for me. Also the program is slow. It buffers after every entry. My old template was downloaded and it's not the same. Who came up with this new version. Have they done a report? There is no way to separate Living Spaces or multiple Bedrooms/Bathrooms. My realtors are used to getting a summary with marginal and defective items first. Then they go through my report with pictures and descriptions at the end. This new version is going to throw everyone off. It took me forever to write a simple report due to the delay when I click on a simple item.

Palmtech low integrity

I liked the layout. Some of the tech support was pretty good.

Palmtech is forcing their new products on users. I bought the revision they said that I would never have to pay again, but now they say it will not work after Jan 31, 2023. Their integrity is low.

I understand that the situation is frustrating, but eventually all software needs to be updated. Much like how Microsoft no longer supports Windows XP or Apple no longer supports the original iPhone, earlier versions of Palmtech become obsolete and an upgrade is necessary to ensure we’re meeting modern security and performance standards. Palm Tech Broke Agreement
Kommentare: Had an older version. Palm Tech shut down the cloud and program so it could not be used anymore. Lost all my statements, gone! They tried to have me upgrade to a newer version. More money. Went to a new software company. Cant support a company that doesn't honor purchases. Buyer beware.

I am only using the photo section of the program for my bank draw inspections but get billed as if I am using the whole package.

I’ve been a user since 2015, I was recently notified by email that in February 2024, my free software was being “ Updated”, and I will have to start paying a monthly fee for using software I’ve already paid nearly $1,000 for!! Now it’s $50/Month or $500 per year!! Since this notification tech support has notified me they are no longer providing tech support for my version! Essentially, they’ve made using the software obsolete!!! WHAT A TOTAL BREACH OF CONTRACT!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

Palmtech Review

Vorteile:
I’ve only been an inspector for about six months. I’ve used the program three times and I found it easy to use as a novice. I’m getting used to customizing the process which again I find easy to do.
Nachteile:
Because I’m a new user I’ve been paying $50 a month but have not done enough inspections to make it price efficient just jet.

Great software.
Kommentare: Very Good! I like the function of uploading to the cloud during the inspection and when reviewed it can be downloaded to the desktop.
Vorteile:
Easy to use, adding photos to report is without a doubt better than other software programs.
Nachteile:
Hangs up on occasion, when using speech-to word it does not always recognize what is spoken. Review and spell check do not always work correctly.
Palm-Tech is great
Kommentare: My overall experience is very positive now that I have been able to integrate it with my scheduling software and reporting it makes my job so much easier I spend more time on the job than in the office which is what I like. I am not a paperwork kind of person and this is allowed me to free up a lot of my valuable time out of the office. Thank you Palm-Tech
Vorteile:
Palm-Tech has allowed me to customize my reports that are different from my competitors that I really enjoy and I can change it up whenever I want.
Nachteile:
The learning curve took me a while to navigate how to use this software and I’m still learning every day that I use it I am not a techie and I’ve had to overcome my own ideas of how it should work.

Nachteile:
The software does not handle large report files as well as I would like. One larger buildings where there are a few hundred pictures, the user experiences slow response time, and often program crashes.

I did not like the software. I cannot think of any pros when compared to other softwares.
Nachteile:
The software is very dates and difficult to use. It crashes often and cannot run on a MAC.

Hi Scott - You have an older version of the software (bought 7 years ago) that has not been upgraded which means it is out of date by your choice. Our newer versions will be faster and have lots of new features. In our last call, (quite a few years ago) we were able to provide quick help and you indicated that your questions had been answered and your issue resolved. Palm-tech
Kommentare: Weak software, new release did not address bugs but went into new areas. Support people try to help and are responsive, but the software is so bad that even they can't help execute basic functionality.
Vorteile:
One time purchase, easy to modify comments and add photos.
Nachteile:
Poor simple customizations of templates. Adding page breaks and blank lines does not function. The General information page can't be modified to have the screen text match what is printed. No logos can be added to email template. So much basic functionality to supply a professional report can't be achieved.
Palm-Tech Inspection Software
Kommentare: I have personally used Palm-Tech inspection software for my reports for many years. This is a great reporting program and very easy to use. Just as all software programs have a learning curve, once you learn it, it becomes easy. I recommend this to all inspectors.
Vorteile:
Ease of use and works on iPad and Tables. Great customer service. The program reduces my time in writing reports. Anyone not using this is working too hard!
Nachteile:
Wish it worked on MAC without parallel or similar program. Wish you could have illustrations automated into the sections with comments in the library. Wish comment sections could have multiple colors in each section. Such as deficiency is red, general comment in blue and information in green or etc.
It gets the job done, until it doesn't.
Kommentare: I wouldn't recommend using Palm Tech if you have a Samsung Galaxy Tablet. I've lost entire inspections when the software crashed on the job site. The first time it happened I called customer support and they blamed my device. So I took their word for it, and figuring my device was defective I bought a new one (another Galaxy tab). Shortly after that the same thing thing happened again on a brand new device that only had 3 programs loaded outside of stock: Palm Tech, Easy WindMit Pro, and Easy 4 Point Pro. At the tail end of a marathon 8 hour inspection the device crashed while attempting to take a photo in Palm Tech. This had happened before, and usually I can get the information back, but this time I lost the entire inspection due to a corrupt file. Once again customer service blamed the device, and talked over me when I tried to explain that the device was brand new and that this had happened before where either the entire device crashes, or just Palm Tech crashes, and that it had happened on 2 new devices that had only been used for home inspection. The next time that it happened to me I called again to find out if they were having issues on Samsung Galaxies, and I got the exact same treatment. This time they blamed the device even though Palm Tech was the only program that crashed on it and lost my work. When I explained that the device didn't shut down, they blamed the wind mitigation program for blocking Pal Tech from taking picture. Not good. Here is customer service in a nutshell if you have an actual issue with the software not working properly: A person will answer the phone and you tell them your issue, they put you on hold for a minute or two, then they come back and tell you your device is at fault. I've called them several times for several different issues and each time I get the same treatment. They will not help you troubleshoot, and they've told me they don't know how.
