Easy to navigate through. Amazing technical support, inexpensive, and it has such seamless integrations.

Nachteile:

Nothing really major is wrong but just a slight problem with the customer service, had a problem deleting my previous account and was told that they cannot delete it.

Most efficient accountable tool.

Kommentare: We are still in it's first stage using it in our company and the experience is good baring in mind that all of us can access it because we are not very many in our organisation.

Vorteile:

QuickBooks enterprise is much affordable and it has a free trial for beginners meaning there's a room to learn and quit if need be. Also it's easy to learn for new users considering the features offered. Finally this tool has a higher user limit meaning more people can access it at once.

Nachteile:

Just one thing, handling the projects at times is a bit slow.

Kommentare: Overall, Quickbooks works great and is one of the best options out there. However, there are definitely some downsides and things they really need to work on, especially given that it is one of the higher priced options.

Vorteile:

For the most part, it is pretty straightforward. QuickBooks is one of the most widely-used software, and it gives the option for an accountant to collaborate with you, making end-of-year, quarterly, etc. tax preparation more simple. It does take a little bit of research and practice to get used to, but it isn't much of a challenge. One could reasonably and comprehensively run a small business just using Quickbooks, which makes it a pretty valuable software.

Nachteile:

It can be glitchy, and especially so if you don't want to use the automations. For instance, if you don't use the AI tax and payroll payments, it is constantly telling you that you haven't accomplished these 'tasks,' and when they are marked complete, it informs you that there is no task. If you pay overtime, you can't use the automated payroll or taxes, so there isn't much of a way to get around this, and it's frustrating. They try to push you towards these automations, but issues like these prevent it and don't allow you to double-check to make sure all of the numbers are in correctly. Additionally, Quickbooks tries to push you towards AI-assisted answers and chatbots, even when they cannot offer you solutions. Sometimes Quickbooks reps can be helpful and sometimes not at all.

Quickbooks and lost functionality

Kommentare: Decreased functionality in the software has lead to hours each month additional accounting time. I'm a small business. I'm who Their target should. Making my job easier, not harder should be their goal. They seem to have lost sight of that. Bringing in Melio and disrupting my interface with my bank is a prime example of of this. It adds a layer of complication to the bill paying process that is time consuming and unnecessary in order for Me, the customer, to be able to quickly and easily pay my bills. I'm sure quickbooks gets a kick back of some sort from Melio but that doesn't get passed on to me because Quickbooks has raised their rate again. I would never recommend Quickbooks to anyone starting a new business. There are alternatives out there. For me to change would be a monumental undertaking so I'm left dealing with the annoyances and confusion with little to no customer support.

Vorteile:

I use the Manufacturing edition. The inventory management features are fairly easy to use and understand. Reporting is straight forward with summary and detailed financials.

Nachteile:

Loss of functionality. First thing they took away was the loan manager. Next was interfacing with with my bank directly for bill pay. Instead they added a third party Melio to administer the bill pay through either paper checks or ACH transfers. ACH transfers work relatively well except for the occasional cancelled payment without explanation. Checks can only be written for one invoice and each check costs $1.50. So, for example, if I have a vendor with net 10th terms and 5 invoices from that vendor over a month's time, then Melio can only write 5 checks all to be delivered on the 10th at a cost of $1.50 per check. They also take my money 10 days before the payment is made effectively floating my cash for 10 days. I know these are complaints about Melio but Intuit made the decision to bring them in and it has been a disaster for me. Quickbooks could care less.

Kommentare: I have had a mostly positive experience with QB enterprise. It's good that there is a great website to find out most things that you need to know when troubleshooting, as customer service/tech support is basically useless.

I like that it integrates with 3rd party software easily

Nachteile:

I dislike that I cannot pull a balance sheet report by class. I use the class function for fund reporting and if I receive funds into the P&L they will sit there unused if they are for capital items.

QuickBooks has easy-to-use software that is customer oriented i found it extreemly helpful can to manage your taxes easily with great functionality. The software is constantly evolving and improving. I would recommend this product and give it a 5 star review. It has changed my life for the better and make everything more simple

Nachteile:

I would say customer support is a little slow but this really is minimal. If you are prepared to wait a little time for assistance you will be ok.

Kommentare: I used to provide support for this software in a tech company, I am accountant and IT, net frameworks is not a good idea to run this but other than that is good for small and medium sized business, good for the price, have in mind may take some resources if you will use in a portable device like a windows tablet.

Vorteile:

It is good for people that runs a small business but does not know book keeping, if you do know book keeping or accounting, is not recommended as you know double crossing accounts and not being able to see that process gets on your nerves, you are better using something similar to sage or what used to be peach.

Nachteile:

I did not like that uses Microsoft. Net framework to run, if framework brakes, you are and you need to clean install windows, you have to back up, format, install, set up and restore everything, also in have seen cases where they do not support software after just four years which really sucks as you have to buy the newest version.

Quickbooks is still the best for small business, despite its shortcomings

Kommentare: Overall, Quickbooks is great for small business, particularly those that have all employees on-site. If you have employees off-site or want a third-party (accountant, for example) to have access, you may want to plan ahead of time and determine if Quickbooks is a great fit. There are third-party apps (QBOX) that can help off-site employees access it, but there are limitations. Otherwise, you need IT to help you set up servers or pay higher prices to Intuit for their customized solutions. That issue aside, Quickbooks is a great product after you get past the learning curve.

Vorteile:

Quickbooks is universally known, compatible with many banks and third-party apps, and can be quite helpful for small businesses. You can customize reports, memorize transactions, and make use of many other time-saving features. Once you get comfortable, you can very quickly manage your accounting and see where your business stands. Also, since it is so popular, there are numerous websites that share helpful tips and tricks.

Nachteile:

There is a steep learning curve for most users. You will not feel comfortable with it for the first few months. Since it is so popular, however, you can search for nearly any task and find several websites that explain how to perform a task. As a CPA, sometimes I just wanted to see the transaction behind the curtain and it can be difficult to see that. Also, remote access for an external accountant or off-site employees is cumbersome and can require paid assistance.

An Impressive Accounting Software for Businesses

Great for a novice but pricey

Kommentare: Overall, it's pretty good. If they could make their upgrades an easier transition and come up with a simple inventory conversion plan - I would be a happy client.

Vorteile:

Love that you get the upgrades and you can update your system. Love that it is user friendly - I was able to figure it out with basic (very basic) accounting knowledge. It's also pretty forgiving in that if you do a transaction the wrong way, you can delete and redo it.

Nachteile:

Two things: 1 it doesn't have an easy way to migrate from POS to Quickbooks for inventory. I am hesitant to change over as there doesn't seem to be an easy transition plan for a small business owner and 2 EVERY TIME there is an upgrade - there is an issue with our bank downloads. It's as if it takes a few days or a few weeks for either Quickbooks to notify the banks to update their code or whether it takes awhile for the adjustments to be made. This can be anything from not being able to download or import AT ALL or whether or not your mouse will even click when selecting a bank transaction. As a result, we wait a few weeks before downloading and upgrading to reduce the impact to our bank transactions. We have too many to hand key.

Using QUICKBOOKS since 2014

Kommentare: Overall, the software works very well, the tech support is excellent and the pricing is fair and reasonable. They offer credit card proceasing and employee direct deposit. We don't write checks any longer and that is a great savings in itself. Purchase it, take a few classes to learn the software program flow (it makes it easier to understand) and you won't be sorry. An excellent product for any business that has accounts receivable's and employee payroll. You can even do you monthly and quarterly taxes too!

Vorteile:

QB has excellent customer support. Even tho the support is base in India about 99% of the tech's are understandable and should you have trouble they allow you to ask for another tech without being offended. We use the P/R and A/R modules and they are easy to follow and understand if you have basic computer knowledge and finance knowledge help as well. But tech support is always their to help you with any issue.

Nachteile:

They give you the ability to create far too many reports.

Solid accounting solution for small to medium businesses across multiple vertical segments

Kommentare: We use QuickBooks Enterprise for Non-Profits, which allows ODBC access into the data to provide access for external reporting capabilities from products like Crystal Reports. This can be a powerful feature depending on your reporting needs.

Vorteile:

QuickBooks is easy to install and configure, includes many useful out of the box reports, easy to read visual indicators for things like receivables and payables, and an easy to configure and process payroll solution. We use the Intuit Enhanced Payroll subscription, which has significantly cut down on the labor involved in processing payroll. We can easily customize, memorize, and schedule reports to ensure our department heads are kept up to date on their budgets. We use the system to track our endowments, auxiliary cash accounts, and profit and loss for projects and individual organizational units. Over the past several versions they have greatly improved the shared company file feature, so managing multi-user access has become much easier and more robust.

Nachteile:

Though Intuit recently introduced the ability to use multiple monitors with QuickBooks (a much overdue feature), they require that all monitors use the same scaling. It's not a huge deal, but a little inconvenient since I use a laptop and would prefer the built-in display panel on the laptop to be 125% and the two external monitors to be 100%. Also, the way they implement multi-monitor display is a little weird... the main app spans monitor screens, and sub-windows are drug from monitor to monitor within the main app's window. It would be much more user friendly if the sub-windows (such as the home screen, various reports, data entry windows, etc) can be moved around independently of the main app's window. This is how most other apps work and I believe how Windows was designed to handle multi-monitor use.

Discount Bookkeeper in your pocket

Kommentare: I've used quickbooks as the administrator for several small businesses. It's a powerful tool that can even be useful for forecasting so long as you keep up to date with it. In my own freelance business, I've started to use Quickbooks Self Employed which is not currently as useful as the Quickbooks I've used for small businesses, but the cost per year reflects the lessened capacity it offers.

Vorteile:

Not only does quickbooks make bookkeeping seem accessible to anyone with the slightest grasp of numbers, the apps make it easy to keep books up to date on the road. It is only as useful as the the effort you put into the software. It's not exactly intuitive, but there are many resources to support you as you learn. It's very easy to find a Quickbooks bookkeeper to work with that can support your business if it's not your speciality while making the transactions easy for both parties. Specialty apps can add to the functionality of Quickbooks increasing the power of this software.

Nachteile:

Because the detail pulled from the bank can sometimes be quite homogeneous, QBO will try to categorize "Wire" transactions or "checks" to the latest transaction payee. Creating rules to ignore the transactions is tedious and can be confusing to new users of the software that may not realize that its matching to previous transactions. The new model of "tiering" users and how many functions they access seems a bit suspect to me, but so far, we have not reached any limits so I don't know how this will impact us, if at all.

Easy accounting software

Vorteile:

It does a lot while you do a little. I am able to send invoices, receive payment in different forms, do payroll, file tax forms and make payments as well as much more. It is very user friendly most of the time. I don't ever have any bugs. It let's me spend more time on other parts of my business.

Nachteile:

They force you to purchase new software every three years. The customer support can be hit and miss.

OK, I love it

I tried several methods over the past ten years, and after having terrible experienes with combined schedling/notetaking/insurance billing/bookkeeping programs I threw in the towel and reluctantly got QB. Great move. Most people would probably have less trouble than I, but even I caught on fairly quickly. It is flexible enough for my quirky techniques, lets me know when I'm doing something they disaprove of. The drawbacks are that you have to hire someone to teach you how to use the program. I only had to do this twice. I still have not figured out how to tally charge/payment for a session in which the patient pays a copay and the insurance pays also. I have to do two separate recordings. But that works! Another plus is that my bank has a designated person to help with Quickbooks and Quicken (which I use for my personal accounts) who is fre and quite helpful. One complaint I have is that there doesn't seem to be one window where I can see the name, date of service, charge for service, what was paid, what the check number is, and what the balance is. Each report contains some of that info but not all. Accountants are probably used to that but it's difficult for me.

Vorteile:

Steep learning curve for non-math/accounting people but then easy and reliable, with flexible ways of inputting data. Good and numerous reports are useful. Connects to TurboTax for tax preparation so I think I'll save money on accounting this year.

Nachteile:

I haven't figured out how to charge for sessions in which patient and insurance both pay, so I've begun just billing them separately. There is an endless feedback loop if you make a mistake in a deposit you've already made--you can't correct the deposit until you correct the payment entry and you can't do that until you correct the deposit. That's crazy making. But on the whole, no major cons and I'm a fairly incompetent money person who like it pretty well.

Great for Preparing Quarterly Taxes

Kommentare: Overall, I have a good experience with Quicken Self-Emloyed because the application is easy to use and I don't have to go and manually update transactions on a daily basis. I review it about once a week, right before my quarterly taxes are due.

Vorteile:

I've been using Quicken self-employed, which is part of QuickBooks, for about five years now. I have seen the online application improved with more useful features, and user interface. I basically use the online version of Quicken to send out invoices, and keep track of business related income and expenses. I particularly like how Quicken syncs between my desktop web browser and my mobile devices. The invoice feature is very useful because I can send with a single click reminders to my clients about invoice payments, and another click for letting them know their payment was received. Quicken also processes my financial transactions without requiring constant manual input. once Quicken knows how you want to assign particular transactions, as business or personal, it automatically makes those assignments for each new transaction. You can also use Quicken to assign tags different types of transactions, which is useful for letting you know where and how your spending your money. Quicken is very useful for giving me an estimation about my quarterly taxes, and there is also a feature for keeping track of mileage. The mileage tracking is easy to use on my iPhone. And parts of the feature are also automated if you choose to set it up that way.

Nachteile:

Quick Self-Employed is about $4 too expensive, and it doesn't provide very good support through its online chat system.

Highly Recommend Quick Books

Kommentare: The biggest benefit for our business is the "Insights" tab, which works on Accrual Basis Accounting. It provides our net income at a quick glance within a certain time period of our choosing along with charts showing our expenses, income, and net income It also gives previous year income comparison, top customers by sales, business growth, and net profit margin by using charts to make it easier to comprehend the data. The "insights" tab is also flexible on any date range that is chosen by the user.

Vorteile:

Overall, I'm very happy with Quick Books and would recommend to any business owner. I really like the memorized transaction list, where I can just automatically have recurring payments deducted from my system rather its monthly, quarterly, or yearly. It can also be set up as a reminder when certain bills are due for payment. It's very easy to load, keep track of your vendors and your customers as well as your own company data such as chart of accounts, and items or services that your company provides. The report center is very user friendly with reports already available by just adding a date range, and it also offers the user to create their own costume reports.

Nachteile:

I do wish refunding clients with credit balances was a little easier. The system does work, but you need to have an invoice generated with charges before completing a credit memo to send a refund check. Our type of business is a lot of prepaid work, and sometimes the cost comes under, and I just want to refund without creating an invoice. Perhaps there is a simpler way, and I just need to learn how it is done.

Quickbooks online review

Kommentare: It had been a number of years since I had used Quickbooks, until recently. I'm happy to say the program is as user friendly as I recalled. We have since transitioned to online version for more robust project costing. The transition was seamless and did not require any particular IT training, which was appreciated. The online version is easy to use, but has lots of room to improve upon its current functionality.

Vorteile:

Very intuitive, functional program. You do not need to be an accountant to use this program. We recently upgrade to the online version from the desktop version to track project costs more accurately. I am happy to see the many improvements and advancements. The project cost tracking is simple, and graphic visuals translate current status very nicely. The dashboards are wonderful for management team, at a glance they can make a quick assessment of financial well being. Making corrections within this program has to be one fo the quickest and easiest in all my experience.

Nachteile:

The project portion could be more robust. I would like to see more detail available on project set up. Project custom reporting could use some improvement, as what is currently available while useful, not creative or customizable. The tax reporting features are wonderful, easy to use but do not allow for issuing any necessary remittances with ease. Something I saw frequently mentioned in help communities for some time now, but there has been no improvement made here. Hopefully something that can be expected in the near future.

Please don't buy this. It's really, really bad.

Nachteile:

The multi-store is awful. It uses a third party email client to send the exchanges. Both computers must be using the same email client, or it causes bugs. Then sometimes the store exchange doesn't actually update anything so you have to do it several times. This is super fun when it won't include employee hours from a satellite store and it's payday. In addition to that, if you're setting up a new store, it must be the same version as the other stores, or it won't work. This becomes a problem when they stop supporting the older version after 12-24 months, which means you have to pay to upgrade every single machine in all of your stores. This software has been a complete nightmare for me, and if you try to call for support you better speak Hindi, otherwise, you're screwed. You don't get a native English speaker on the phone until about the third level of support. An average for me has been a half hour of hold time, plus 20 minutes per level of support, with 10 minute hold times between each "support professional". So generally, it takes an hour and a half of dealing with low-level employees with questionable language skills, asking you the dumbest questions you can imagine before you get someone who can understand what your problem is. I have to do this at least once a month. If you watch it like a hawk; and by that I mean you check you do a physical inventory count and check your items weekly, and you double check every store exchange, it can work. This is probably the worst point of sale software on the planet. I've been fighting it for three years, and I'm happy to say I've dumped it for something much better. The inventory management is not good. It deletes items on its own. It changes the quantity of stock for no particular reason. It loses transactions. It generates duplicate items and prices them at $0, so if your employees aren't paying attention they give stuff away for free. It is impossible to keep an accurate inventory unless you do a physical count about once every two weeks. Sometimes it simply loses data. For example, in 2014, it lost all records of the sales, inventory receiving and employee hours for February, March, and April. It was really a true joy to sit down and try to explain that to the IRS. Great overall, but a bit much for beginners and those without accounting experience

Vorteile:

Everything you need comes right out of the box. QuickBooks holds your hand as best it can when setting up a company from scratch. Most novice users with a little bit of accounting experience will appreciate the ease of setup when starting from scratch. The ability to customize your company is nearly endless. QuickBooks has every feature and function you could ever want in accounting software for a small to medium sized company. The reports are great, the way it can autofill for you almost everywhere, and the home screen is very easy and makes total sense. I like that QuickBooks is industry standard, so you can find helpful videos, tips, and tricks, all over the internet.

Nachteile:

If you have no accounting experience, you can very easily get lost with QuickBooks. Yes, it does a fairly good job of holding your hand, but many times you have no idea what the next step needs to be and sometimes you just have to guess. Those times are few, but can sometimes be critical (like getting a deposit to show up on your account register after getting paid.) QuickBooks is not very fast to start and the auto backup on exit function is not intuitive to setup. If you backing up to a drive across your network, count on your exits sometimes taking minutes at a time. QuickBooks does not handle file open, close, and backup requests very quickly. I don't know why it is so slow at those actions, especially across a Gigabit network, but know going in that file operations are slow. QuickBooks will absolutely HOUND you about buying additional services. I haven't found a way to get rid of those permanently.

I have used QuickBooks for years but I don't use the payroll portion of it.

Vorteile:

The best thing about QuickBooks is the speed and ease with which you can reconcile your bank statements. Assuming you keep up to date on entering your checks (and I know that's a big assumption) you can zip thru a bank statement in a matter of minutes. That part of QuickBooks I give 5 giant shiny stars! It's also very easy to categorize your income and expenses. I then use their income and expense reports to complete my corporate tax return each year. Finally, it's fast and easy to enter both income and expenses. The basics are great, but it's not all roses.

Nachteile:

I've got several gripes in the "Cons" department. First, QuickBooks updates a lot! And sometimes you need to pay for those updates because some feature you had in your previous version doesn't work with the new version. I don't want to think about how much I have actually paid for this software over the years! And quite often, all that has changed is the "look and feel" of the software and more often than not the update isn't doing anything new that the previous version didn't do, at least for my needs. Does that sound familiar? I wonder if some of the QuickBooks people have come over from the Microsoft camp and brought their bag of tricks with them. Another issue is the online features... like automatically downloading from your bank accounts or investment accounts. I don't want to do that and would just as soon not have to pay for updates that add or improve those features. A plus is that you can email an invoice to a client and they have the option to pay you on line from that invoice. That's nice, but the charges for that are very high compared to other similar services. Besides using QuickBooks, I have many clients that also use it. Their biggest gripe is the high cost every year of updating the payroll portion of the program, which, in reality, is just updating a few numbers, if any, in the annual tax tables embedded in the program. You should be able to enter those manually and not have to pay a ransom for that "update".
