Über Obsidian
Sichere und dezentrale 2FA-Anwendung (2-Factor Authentification) für iOS und MacOS basierend auf Apple Keychain.
I love the classification and the storage of personal knowledge.
You will need to pay for the Obsidian Sync Plugin in order to be able to synchronize with the mobile app, which is still in the earliest stage of development.

Obsidian unlocked my creativity and took notetaking to the next level.
Kommentare: I loved being able to customize Obsidian and make it my own. The amazingly generous community always has your back and is creating new plug-ins all the time to take the app to the next level. For me, the openness, free-flowing organic nature just worked with my creative brain. It just feels good now to open the Obsidian App and get the ideas flowing.
Vorteile:
I have tried multiple notetaking apps, like Evernote, Notion, OneNote, and Apple Notes, but none of them have ever proved as useful as Obsidian. Basically, I would write it and forget it. That all changed went I was introduced and started using Obsidian. It was love at first sight. I love how open and free-flowing Obsidian is. I can design it the way I want using Obsidian's Community Plug-ins, and completely personalize my notetaking experience. Obsidian also has a great community to answer any questions you may have about setting it up.Obsidian introduced me to linking my notes. Now I have a network of ideas that I can keep coming back to. The graph view gives me a visual of how all my notes are linked together—such a creative feature—it stimulates idea generation and creativity.Another plus, which was a big selling point for me, all my notes are saved in a Vault (folder) directly on my computer as .md (Markdown Documentation) language files. I have complete control of all of my notes and can easily back them up and open them as text files if I choose. The mobile app setup was easy I personally use Syncthing (on my PC) and Mobius Sync App (on iPhone), so securely and very quickly sync the Obsidian Desktop App with the Obsidian Mobil App.Obsidian has been the only notetaking app that I have used consistently. I have it open on my computer, use the browser extension, journal, and reflect with my Daily Note. I'm a total fan!
Nachteile:
There is a learning curve when using Obsidian. It can feel intimidating when you first open the App and see how simple and stripped down it is. It really is a "blank canvas", so it may not be for everyone. Personally, I was so fascinated with it that I thoroughly enjoyed spending time on the Community Forum and watching YouTube Tutorials.
A great note taking app
Kommentare: When I finally understood how to use obsidian, it was a wonderful tool at the end. One just needs to invest some time to learn to tool to be able to make the most out of it. Obsidian has some really powerful plugins like data view that change the game of obsidian. It offers endless possibilities of manipulating your data. Overall, obsidian is a great tool especially for researchers, there is a lot to gain from using the tool in research and other areas
Vorteile:
Researchers will find that obsidian is quite useful. Because of the clever method in which it relates papers through the use of its visualization tools, it is quite simple to comprehend how your information is interconnected. I find the most value in it when I'm using it for research purposes, so that's where I focus most of my attention. Obsidian possesses a wonderful community that is quite active, and the platform also provides access to a good deal of content that can be accessed by users. There is also a variety of plugins that have been written by community members to handle various topics. These plugins may be found in the plugin repository. The importance of comprehending dataview in Obsidian cannot be overstated. I got away from Obsidian for a little while, but I came back once I figured out how dataview functions and how it can simplify your life.
Nachteile:
The fact that the Obsidian community is constantly developing new plugins to enhance the app's functionality and make it easier to use is one of the distinguishing characteristics of this platform. However ,Obsidian is not simple to understand at first, despite the large number of people that are a part of its community. When you first look at it, it might be very frightening. In order to get the most of this tool, you need to have a solid understanding of markdown. Because there are so many plugins, using it might be a hassle at times. Again. When there is an excessive amount of data present in your workspace, the graph view can rapidly become overpowering, making it impossible to extract data from the display. The fact that Obsidian can only be accessed through desktop is a significant limitation of using that platform. You will need to pay for the Obsidian Sync Plugin in order to be able to synchronize with the mobile app, which is still in the earliest stage of development.
Look for simplicity in Obsidian
Kommentare: Great initial impression however quickly bored by Obsidian.
Vorteile:
Attractively simple. Doesn’t require much effort nor attention to get to work with.
Nachteile:
Far too simple with few UI customisations that seem common elsewhere where even more features are available.
Obsidian Review
Kommentare: It was ok, wasnt the easiest thing to use, but it performed the majority of functions I needed it to.
Vorteile:
Being able to customize and no cost for personal use.
Nachteile:
The cost of syncing is really expensive.
Nothing to complain but a bit hard for newbie unfamiliar with markdown
Kommentare: I am satisfied with the app and using it for writing articles and thesis.
Vorteile:
It's perfect to organise a hub of knowledge with linking. Simple and easy to use. Not really heavy app in case you put too many docs and photos. Connect with mobile app through clouds so I can look it up and note anywhere.
Nachteile:
If you want to make it more attractive appearance and layout, draw complicated graphs or charts, you may come up to learn a bit code of markdown. But if you want to keep it as simple as it is, let it be.
top product for note taking!
Vorteile:
easy yet powerful, fast development, fully customizable, fully offline if you want, fully synced (but with good privacy) if you want, fast search, perfect graph.
Nachteile:
not perfect solution for linking blocks. actually Obsidian is not made for linking blocks but pages and headers, anyway, not a big deal, just some friction.
In Betracht gezogene Alternativen:
It's a must for professional work and higher study
Kommentare: As a Marketing Manager, I use this daily to connect all the info I need for content marketing, and it keeps my knowledge in the industry well-organized.
Vorteile:
I like this software because it gives me a chance to have an overview of all information, and amazingly all of it is connected by its platform. You can easily understand all information you're gathering, like a mindmap, it guides you to analyze the work better.
Nachteile:
I wish Obsidian could improve a bit more creativity for a Marketing Project Manager like me. Somehow, I want to brainstorm my ideas in visualize way. I hope you can improve a bit with this feature.
A Powerful Knowledge Management Tool for Personal and Professional Use
Kommentare: Obsidian is a powerful and customizable knowledge management tool that offers a lot of flexibility and potential for personal and professional use. However, it does have a steep learning curve and some limitations in terms of cloud sync and mobile access.
Vorteile:
Obsidian is a knowledge management tool that has gained a lot of popularity recently among professionals and individuals looking for a way to organize their thoughts, ideas, and information in a more efficient way.Powerful note-taking features: Obsidian allows you to create and edit notes easily, with support for markdown formatting, tags, and links between notes. This makes it easy to organize and connect information in a way that works for you.Customizable interface: The interface of Obsidian is highly customizable, allowing you to personalize your experience and optimize your workflow. You can choose from a variety of themes, plugins, and settings to create the perfect setup for your needs.Cross-platform support: Obsidian works on Windows, Mac, and Linux, making it accessible to a wide range of users. Additionally, the notes are stored as plain text files, so you can access them from any device or app that supports text files.Active community and development: Obsidian has an active community of users and developers who are constantly creating new plugins, themes, and features to enhance the tool.
Nachteile:
Steep learning curve: While Obsidian is a powerful tool, it can take some time to learn how to use it effectively. The customizable interface and advanced features may be overwhelming for some users.Lack of cloud sync: Although Obsidian allows you to access your notes from any device or app that supports text files, there is no built-in cloud sync feature. This means you will need to manually sync your notes between devices or use a third-party service to do so.No mobile app: As of now, Obsidian does not have a mobile app, which may be a dealbreaker for users who need to access their notes on-the-go.
My second brain: best tool for individual work
Kommentare: I have been using the tool for two years. I use it as my engineering journal, all the notes from my entire life are in the tool.
Vorteile:
I have been using obsidian for years and am simply passionate about the tool. It's my second brain. I'm an engineer, and I use Obsidian as a commonplace book: a large notes binder, where I deposit all my thoughts, ideas, all in notes format, like sheets in a binder. The advantage is that the notes have a markdown format and are therefore free from proprietary formats. There are a multitude of resources to link the notes and provide context, lines of reasoning, continuity in the work.
Nachteile:
It's even unfair to speak ill of the tool, because I use it too much, and it has changed my life for the better. The only thing that could improve and I'm sure the team will do in the future is the ability to sync the notes on the mobile version without having to use the Obsidian Sync service, so the notes can be stored in my personal cloud.
Best knowledge managment tool and it is free!
Kommentare: I'm using obsidian to manage my digital garden and organize my knowledge
Vorteile:
You own your files, everything is markdown. The UX is smooth and there is an amazing plugin community that caters to every extra feature you will need.
Nachteile:
Sincerely, this software is so customizable and good out of the box that I haven't found a reason not to like any feature.
Crazy powerful but high maintenance
Kommentare: I think it's really a powerful tool. If you spend time designing a system that works for you and stick to it, it can be a huge time saver.
Vorteile:
The best thing about Obsidian for me is how it's possible to customize and add basically any feature or behaviour you might need. The huge plugin library is really great and there seems to be a solution for every situation. Another great thing is being possible to manage syncing with your peferred service.
Nachteile:
The thing that kept me for using it after a year is that I found too exhausting to have to configure (and remember the custom behaviours) of all the plugins that I've added. I think overtime is easy to get into a situation where there's a lot manage.
An innovative note-taking platform I wish I could use more.
Kommentare: Obsidian is a great and beautiful note-taking app that I wish I could use more. I am no where near a great note taker so jumping into Obisdian was a bit of a wild experience at first. There is a learning curve for newbies like me but there are many tutorials and a great community to help get started. It would be good to know plain text before hand. I used it for about 2 months before I found a different app to fit my productivity management and lifestyle. I still think it is an innovative app for those who often do research, writing, brainstorming, gathering a knowledge base. This is very specific to a certain types of note-takers that need something personal, can commit to one device to take notes, and often use interconnecting ideas. Someone who makes Wiki pages is the ideal demographic, basically. It just isn't for me at the moment as I need to manage collaborative projects and I'm not much of the note-taking aficionado as I'd like to be. However, I see myself opening Obsidian back up in the near future when I can find the time to sit down, get to know it more, and find a way to make it work for me. So far with my short experience, I think it is a high quality, high potential, unique tool.
Vorteile:
I absolutley love the idea of the mindmapping and creating a knowledgebase. This takes note-taking to a whole new level for me. It breaks down ideas and backlinks into a lovely web which I find incredibly useful and unique. The plugin marketplace is great as well. It's quite hard to avoid using plugins in Obisdian, but this is a plus for me as I enjoy experimenting with the extensions. This note-taking app feels very high quality yet it can cost you nothing if you don't want the extra features. The Obsidian community is also great and has strong support, which I always look for in platform. I also like that you can use it offline, this is especially useful when travelling long distances.
Nachteile:
The downside that led me to stop using Obsidian - there are no collaboration and sharing tools, and you need to pay extra for syncing across devices. The drawback of being offline only is if I want to take notes on my phone or my desktop at work, then I'd have to pay or take the extra step to upload and update my notes in the cloud. This is a feature that I would expect to have for free. This also becomes an issue when working in a collaborative space. It is difficult to share, edit, and view Obsidian notes publicly for free. I have to take the extra step to export to PDFs and share it as an attachment. It would be ideal to have a link-sharing feature.
I have been using this system since its launch and I have a lot to say.
Kommentare: Obsidian is an incredibly powerful and extensible knowledge base that you can use to organize your ideas, notes, and projects. It's built on top of your local folder of plain text files, so it's fast and secure.
Vorteile:
A whole philosophy (of knowledge accounting) has been summed up under this program. There are a huge number of plugins that you may need.- Increased visibility of projects and tasks.- Improved efficiency and productivity.- Automated reminders for tasks and events.- Ability to assign tasks to team members.- Ability to track progress and measure results.
Nachteile:
An advanced level of computer use is required to realize its full potential.- Potential distraction from work by notifications.- Possible overload of tasks and projects.- Cost of using software (paid sync version).- Lack of flexibility in some software.- Potential difficulty in learning to use the software.
Obsidian Review
Vorteile:
Obsidian has a really robust note-taking. Is markdown supportive which I love. And we have knowledge graph which I think it's an awesome feature for people that use Obsidian.
Nachteile:
I think the only part I can point that are the cons about Obsidian is the learning curve and limited mobile app features.
Great Software for keeping notes
Vorteile:
Helps me organise my notes, definitely improved my productivity.. There are some built-in plugins which are installed easily.
Nachteile:
Trial version doesn't let you explore all feature. overall its good
Obsidian, nut just another Markdown note taking
Kommentare: Obsidian is great when compiling complex data and taking note on courses or for studying, since it allows to create relation between different notes and pages, but for a daily note taking, other programs are easier to use and more friendly.
Vorteile:
Obsidian is a note taking app with many hidden features, being one of the them the graph search. In this graph search, the user can set hashtags and relations between different parts of different pages and link them. This makes it a lot easier to search for relations between notes, allowing the user to create a relation graph and check for related topics after feeding it to the application.
Nachteile:
The learning curve for this note taking app is really steep. It is not user friendly and, even with a well documented wiki, it takes some time to the user to fully understand the potential of what this app offers. It also has limited interaction when not in Markdown mode, but this should change on the newer version.
Place to store your brain
Vorteile:
The possibility to link notes to each other and later view them as a graph is a huge plus in comparison to other note-taking tools. Also, notes are stored in Markdown, which is a unified format that can be easily transferred to other places if needed.
Nachteile:
Lack of any handwritten or more reach notes. This is a limitation of a markdown itself but probably even easier way to attach handwritten notes as images.
I whish I had Obsidian doing my PhD ...
Kommentare: I use it in my academic research but also in hobbies like Bonsai where there is a lot of information to be digested. The overall experience is to be able to relax about having to remember the small things, because Obsidian keeps it save and organized.
Vorteile:
I love the classification and the storage of personal knowledge. Its a cliché: But just as a second brain ...The fact that its on my iPhone and PC. Anywhere where I have an idea or where knowledge is shared I can make notes.
Nachteile:
Mark down language is still a language to be learned. Especially if you use it for the first time. I'm not a coder so "md" doesn't come naturally. But the benefits of it being "future proof" are profound. Please use as much icons and graphics as possible to make the md print files as trendy/easy to use. I.e. for the ones who don't speak md.
One of the best PKM software
Kommentare: I take, connect and make notes with Obsidian. It becomes a big, efficient and flexible place to store my thought.
Vorteile:
- First thing first, I super love backlink feature and graph view of Obsidian. It makes possible a web-like structure organization of notes and facilitates greatly the jump from one to another related topic. - It's super fast and local-stored data. - Strong commnunity and community features is AWESOME!!
Nachteile:
- Some features have a quite steeping learning curve.
Obsidian
Vorteile:
obsidian is a very nice application with its own little skills for both daily note-taking and graph chart creation. It is a great pleasure to be able to access the application even if there is no internet.
Nachteile:
It's pretty inefficient at adding templates, and it doesn't even work. There are only light and dark modes as theme colors.
This is one of note-taking have what i need.
Vorteile:
I have been using Obsidian for about 3 months. It allows me to have a place to take notes, it also suggests some tools to organize what I have written on it. What I really like is that it's free and cross-device compatible. I feel this software will also be suitable for programming enthusiasts.
Nachteile:
I'm not tech savvy. Because it took me about one month to master Obsidian, I sometimes get confused because of its new concepts and don't know how to use it. Because I feel this software is very flexible and creates systems to suit and help me. So it can take me a long time to learn.
All notes in one - very good for systematizing knowledge
Kommentare: This is an optimal app for notetaking if you satisfy with minimalist style but super useful. I also enjoy the sync between desktop and mobile that make it easier to write down something flashing in mind. This is an application that is worth using, turn it into a personal dictionary and use it to store all the useful information that you have collected and learned and worked on for many years.
Vorteile:
I am happy to find Obsidian to take notes and create the connection among them, help users build a personal dictionary. All data will be saved offline, so the data will be very secure. The most powerful feature is the backlink for keywords that help me sometimes figure out new ideas, and The Graph View feature will give us an overview of the work we are doing!
Nachteile:
Because it is built up on the language English so its font sometimes does not perform well for other languages. The appearance is boring and unable to see the images attached in the editing mode.
Obsidian for basic users
Vorteile:
Simplicity of the user interface and also the possibility to protect a lot of apps and services.
Nachteile:
The possibility to sync across devices is payed higher
Good for money
Kommentare: Good
Vorteile:
Easy to use. Able to install and use plugins easily
Nachteile:
It is not available on mobi application yet.
