Kommentare: Siemens hat über Jahre Software dazugekauft, aber sie nie richtig integriert. "Teamcenter" ist aktuell eine Kollektion hunderter einzelner Tools. Es wird dem Kunden überlassen die einzelnen Tools richtig zu konfigurieren und zu verbinden.
P.S.: Laut Siemens geht das auch nicht besser - es sei schließlich "ein komplexes System".

Vorteile:

Rich Client + Web Client verfügbar Clients für Enduser sind hübsch

Nachteile:

Extrem unflexibel. Anpassungen benötigen ein "Model Deployment", was locker eine Stunde Downtime bedeutet. Sehr instabil, da das Fundament, auf dem die Software aufbaut, sehr marode ist. Es ist ein bunter Mix von Java Anwendungen, C++ DLLs und Perl Scripten. Zusammengenähnt durch .bat Files. Einer MENGE .bat files.

Simple Use

Vorteile:

Although I haven't explored all of the features this software I can say that it does the job quite well. You can manage the life cycle of the product. What I expect from this kind of software is easy management and it does the job without giving you any headaches. In a few usages after you are introduced to the software you can understand the way it works and start feeling comfortable with the tools.

Nachteile:

2 things come to my mind; most of the default screens are to "crowded" and it takes some time to understand the error messages once you made a mistake using the function.

Easy Solution to Follow 2D or 3D data in Multi Location Companies

Vorteile:

With Teamcenter software, more than one people can work on same data with same time and Teamcenter is easily control this complex process. In the multi location companies this is a huge problem and if the people don't know about the latest version of 2D or 3D, It may cause wrong updates on the data. Teamcenter solved this potential errors very easily also very user-friendly.

Nachteile:

Sometimes the interface works very slowly and it is very annoying but it happens very rarely. Also, sometimes software closes suddenly.

Too complicated and hard to use

Vorteile:

I barely like something about this program. It is a good tool to process multifunctional and complicated tasks within worklife.

Nachteile:

It is very complicated, confusing and un user friendly.

Has a strong memory

Kommentare: I'm just using it to store the pieces I design. It is easy to follow the design process with the teamcenter, but the tools to get reporting in excel should develop a little more. Also great with vismocup

Vorteile:

The numbering system is great. The structure management module is very handy. Successful in working with other systems and software of the company

Nachteile:

The License price is very expensive. although there are many advantages, bosses do not want to pay.

Best choice and easy to use!!

Kommentare: I personally recommend this application if you want to analyze complex 3d data models

Vorteile:

This program is very useful while complex 3D data like passenger cars. It shows quite fast even if you fully open a model with exterior, interior and powertain components.

Nachteile:

If you start this program newly, its very hard to get used it. The educational modules im the system is not sufficient enough

must for a design engineer

Vorteile:

Very easy to use compare to other programs. as a exhaust system engineer, it is helping to me see details and make some updates (open/close some sub-components , seperate them and see them respectively

Nachteile:

when you forget to log out and turn back to program after several hours, it is going to offline mode and you cant use it before close/open again

Good overall solution for PLM

Vorteile:

I used BOM module with change management tool. There are plenty options for all activities. We imported bulk data from solid edge it worked successfully. We could work with product team to customise team centre for our project.

Nachteile:

Too many options sometimes confuse me as a user. The user interface needs some overhaul as the amount of information shown In window is too much to find desired activity.

Best 3D and 2D model visualization

Kommentare: Teamcenter is a main part of our working days in automotive industrial.

Vorteile:

Our company have been using Teamcenter to view 3D and 2D CAD models. It is easy to use. Most of tools like transformation, section or movement works very well.

Nachteile:

When you click to big data to open, it may causes an error and you need to close the program and re-open.

Very comprehensive CAD system

Vorteile:

Various platform supports; web (thin-client), and desktop. You can reach to system whenever and wherever you are.

Nachteile:

You need a lot of training and practise to be able comprehend everything and take of advantage of all features.

Should fix bugs and improve user interface

Vorteile:

I use Teamcenter everyday to convert my design data to product data. It is so useful for big companies because you should work together simultaneously.

Nachteile:

TC should improve itself because it is not user friendly.

TeamCenter - Top PLM Solutions across Automotive Industry

Kommentare: Teamcenter team shall improve on migration from legacy solution to TeamCenter with easy ways.

Vorteile:

We are using Teamcenter for Product Lifecycle Management, Variant Management, Product Data Management, etc. It has great capability to interface with other ALM Tools like which stores information for Requirements Management, Design Management, Test Management, Change Management, etc.

Nachteile:

Initial Deployment of TeamCenter across Organization is really difficult, Starting Phase of moving out of legacy solution to PLM increase a lot efforts for employees.

Gets the job done, some room for improvement

Kommentare: Overall it does what it is designed to do. There is plenty of room for improvements with ease of access, speed, and usability. Teamcenter can be the top of its class with a few improvements in these areas.

Vorteile:

Easy to get approvals and set a workflow. Once you are used to it, it enables you to do things much quicker and remotely if necessary. Easy access to the documents of your entire organization.

Nachteile:

This software can be difficult to use for people who are not tech savvy. Our administrator is bogged down with explaining this software to users, and there are plenty of ways people can go wrong with this. The software also has some bugs that slow it down and make accessing documents slow. Search features are slow and buggy.

Powerful Product

Vorteile:

Teamcenter and Vismockup have many features and modules for wide range of stuff. It is easy to learn and use. I am generally using for 3D data viewing and exporting data package for other CAE softwares. It is very convient and flexible to collect the 3D data from different vehicle program nodes. Teamcenter always achieves quickly the big sized STL data exports. Especially 3D measurement, clipping tool, color adjustment and manipulation options are effective then similar softwares.

Nachteile:

Graphical User interface could be more visual and user-friendly. Sometimes it is freezing when I am opening the big .Stp and .Stl files. Surface to surface manipulation Mode is not working accurate. It is suggesting unreasonable proposals.

Kommentare: I've used 4 different PLM's so far, and Teamcenter is by far the best.

Vorteile:

My favorite thing about Teamcenter is to ease of use. Saving and uploading is easy, CATIA integration is fantastic.

Nachteile:

Change management system is sometimes get bores me but in overall not much to talk about negative sides.

TCe is a Vital Tool

Vorteile:

Teamcenter is a vital tool that will help managing the products, with check in/outs, making sure you are always working with updated files.

Nachteile:

Since the tool is very complex, it is not friendly for the user at the beginning. A training session is a must.

Virtual Production Line for Automotive Industry

Vorteile:

Parts designed with computer aided design programs can be integrated into the teamcenter and installed in a virtual environment in accordance with the vehicle parts list (BOM). Designed parts can be viewed via teamcenter with remote access on any computer

Nachteile:

The system is a complex structure for beginners. Without a short training can be difficult to use the program.

Useful CAD Data View and Tracking Tool

Vorteile:

User interface is easy to uderstand. Tracking CAD data method is user friendly. You can easily reach older revisions of CAD data. 2D section assessments are easy with VisMockUp. Toolbar customisation works perfect. Easy to import and export CAD data.

Nachteile:

Taking measurements accuracy is low sometimes. You cannot always select the exact location where you want to take measurement from.

Best option for a Car manufacturing company

Kommentare: To access design content of a vehicle of my interest.

Vorteile:

Well organized, mature tool for Car data storage, sharing. CAD extraction, visualisation options are nice.

Nachteile:

I don't know if this is related with my company's organization but, it might be better if TC becomes able to show material info of selected parts.

Best 3D review tool

Kommentare: Minimum price maximum performance gain on my low end system use.

Vorteile:

It gives realy high performance even you have low end system. It is able to contain lots of data in same time.

Nachteile:

3D section tool is not easy to use for curve section sometimes it is hard to find a place to create a section on complex 3D model.

great product for part life management and visualizaition of designs.

Kommentare: I am fan of teamcenter as it makes my job very easy and controlled.

Vorteile:

Teamcenter is the best PLM program that helps you to see the all steps of the product life cycle by visualising the parts.

Nachteile:

Vis-mockup tool needs to be improved little bit.

Better options out there

Vorteile:

Teamcenter does what it says it will do. It provides a configuration management tool that makes document storage secure.

Nachteile:

Simply - there are better options out there. Enovia, VPM, Mfiles are all better option in this engineers opinion.
