Kommentare: Siemens hat über Jahre Software dazugekauft, aber sie nie richtig integriert. "Teamcenter" ist aktuell eine Kollektion hunderter einzelner Tools. Es wird dem Kunden überlassen die einzelnen Tools richtig zu konfigurieren und zu verbinden.
P.S.: Laut Siemens geht das auch nicht besser - es sei schließlich "ein komplexes System".

Vorteile:

Rich Client + Web Client verfügbar Clients für Enduser sind hübsch

Nachteile:

Extrem unflexibel. Anpassungen benötigen ein "Model Deployment", was locker eine Stunde Downtime bedeutet. Sehr instabil, da das Fundament, auf dem die Software aufbaut, sehr marode ist. Es ist ein bunter Mix von Java Anwendungen, C++ DLLs und Perl Scripten. Zusammengenähnt durch .bat Files. Einer MENGE .bat files.

Teamcenter is best software for data management

Kommentare: Worked on creo integrated Teamcenter. And it is completely best package.

Vorteile:

Workflow initiation are done in single click and ECR and ECN process and it is easily integrated with creo are best part.

Nachteile:

Nothing to dislike. It is an wonderful PLM software.

Simple Use

Vorteile:

Although I haven't explored all of the features this software I can say that it does the job quite well. You can manage the life cycle of the product. What I expect from this kind of software is easy management and it does the job without giving you any headaches. In a few usages after you are introduced to the software you can understand the way it works and start feeling comfortable with the tools.

Nachteile:

2 things come to my mind; most of the default screens are to "crowded" and it takes some time to understand the error messages once you made a mistake using the function.

Too complicated and hard to use

Vorteile:

I barely like something about this program. It is a good tool to process multifunctional and complicated tasks within worklife.

Nachteile:

It is very complicated, confusing and un user friendly.

Easy Solution to Follow 2D or 3D data in Multi Location Companies

Vorteile:

With Teamcenter software, more than one people can work on same data with same time and Teamcenter is easily control this complex process. In the multi location companies this is a huge problem and if the people don't know about the latest version of 2D or 3D, It may cause wrong updates on the data. Teamcenter solved this potential errors very easily also very user-friendly.

Nachteile:

Sometimes the interface works very slowly and it is very annoying but it happens very rarely. Also, sometimes software closes suddenly.

Has a strong memory

Kommentare: I'm just using it to store the pieces I design. It is easy to follow the design process with the teamcenter, but the tools to get reporting in excel should develop a little more. Also great with vismocup

Vorteile:

The numbering system is great. The structure management module is very handy. Successful in working with other systems and software of the company

Nachteile:

The License price is very expensive. although there are many advantages, bosses do not want to pay.

Best choice and easy to use!!

Vorteile:

This program is very useful while complex 3D data like passenger cars. It shows quite fast even if you fully open a model with exterior, interior and powertain components.

Nachteile:

If you start this program newly, its very hard to get used it. The educational modules im the system is not sufficient enough

must for a design engineer

Vorteile:

Very easy to use compare to other programs. as a exhaust system engineer, it is helping to me see details and make some updates (open/close some sub-components , seperate them and see them respectively

Nachteile:

when you forget to log out and turn back to program after several hours, it is going to offline mode and you cant use it before close/open again

Best 3D and 2D model visualization

Kommentare: Teamcenter is a main part of our working days in automotive industrial.

Vorteile:

Our company have been using Teamcenter to view 3D and 2D CAD models. It is easy to use. Most of tools like transformation, section or movement works very well.

Nachteile:

When you click to big data to open, it may causes an error and you need to close the program and re-open.

Very comprehensive CAD system

Vorteile:

Various platform supports; web (thin-client), and desktop. You can reach to system whenever and wherever you are.

Nachteile:

You need a lot of training and practise to be able comprehend everything and take of advantage of all features.

Should fix bugs and improve user interface

Vorteile:

I use Teamcenter everyday to convert my design data to product data. It is so useful for big companies because you should work together simultaneously.

Nachteile:

TC should improve itself because it is not user friendly.

Effective and comprehensive PLM tool

Kommentare: It can be configured with different CAD software and supports teams of engineers to properly manage design revisions of parts and complex assemblies.It has a wide range of applications and supports several CAD files.There are undoubtedly some disadvantages, they are mostly related to the fact that this PLM is not user-friendly, so users need some specific trainings.

Vorteile:

Great tool to manage the product’s life cycle. You can easily check-out and check-in the files tracking the modifications. Effective for big teams of engineers working on the same files with the possibility to manage working requests and tasks among different players.You can properly manage bills of materials.

Nachteile:

It is not user friendly, you need some trainings to use it effectively.Sometimes it is a little bit slow.

TeamCenter - Top PLM Solutions across Automotive Industry

Kommentare: Teamcenter team shall improve on migration from legacy solution to TeamCenter with easy ways.

Vorteile:

We are using Teamcenter for Product Lifecycle Management, Variant Management, Product Data Management, etc. It has great capability to interface with other ALM Tools like which stores information for Requirements Management, Design Management, Test Management, Change Management, etc.

Nachteile:

Initial Deployment of TeamCenter across Organization is really difficult, Starting Phase of moving out of legacy solution to PLM increase a lot efforts for employees.

Kommentare: Stayed organized. Stored data efficiently. Never lost data. Easily shared data. Recovered data mistakenly deleted.

Vorteile:

Keeps your CAD, analysis, and all data organized. Everything from CAD files to PDF's can be stored and saved on your network. Revisions ensure the latest data is always available. Personal folder structure is possible, so the company may have its structure, but one can still create their folders to organize the same information. The software can be tuned to your company's needs, enabling and disabling functions and also creating rules. It's fast to log in and the latest version has some browser based capability. If data is deleted by accident, it can be quickly restored. Highly secure, controlling access to data to only certain employees, or read-only rights.

Nachteile:

It is complex, which I'm not sure is a Con, because of all the features, but somebody in the company has to work full-time with Teamcenter, so it does require significant investment. There is a lot of maintenance, organization, structuring, etc to manage your data. More needs to be browser based, phone/tablet app based. Operating software on a PC is quickly becoming a thing of the past.

Powerful software for engineering

Kommentare: I use Teamcenter everyday that I store 3D, 2D models and engineering documents and check easily.

Vorteile:

It's a huge environment that you can keep 3D model data, BOM, change management etc. You can track the history for the revisions of all files stored in it.

Nachteile:

Having connection problems couple of times. Thin client sites are not compatible with all browsers.

Very capable data review product

Kommentare: It enables me to review 2D/3D data easily and quickly navigate through as I evaluate.

Vorteile:

It has a wide variety of integrated tools such as dimensional measurments, 3D comparison an even motional analyses.

Nachteile:

Depending on how much data one wants to review, it might use a lot of PC memory.

great PDM/PLM tool

Kommentare: great tool, but a bit too slow

Vorteile:

flexible, easy to learn yet powerful, never crushed (working 5 years with it).

Nachteile:

it's pretty slow and the appearance is outdated.

best software for 3d 2d visualization

Vorteile:

we use this software to view 3d 2d models. it is very structured and easy to use.

Nachteile:

this software runs very slow and crashes sometimes.

clunky and not intuitive. I would have a hard time finding the information I needed without referencing the manual.

A Necessary 3D Viewer fo Product Developers

Kommentare: It’s quite useful 3D viewer software with an easy interface.

Vorteile:

I like feature that allows me to section by every dimensions. Then those sections can be shift easily to deep dive on product 3D.

Nachteile:

When I want to measure something in a complex package, it’s difficult to select the exact point/edge I want. I prefer a short list to open and ask me on which product I want to select my point.

Great engineering tool

Kommentare: As engineers you can rely on how this software keep all the data accessible but in a controlled manner.

Vorteile:

It is perfect to keep all information about parts, designs, 3D models. You can assign tasks for review or approval.

Nachteile:

It is not too user friendly, it is a little bit complex amd require a lot of exposure to understand what can be done, where and how.

Powerful software, but there's a significant learning curve

Kommentare: It's a comprehensive PLM software. Complete control over product and its lifetime, as well as great great connection to other pieces of software.

Vorteile:

It's very comprehensive. There are many options, on how and what you can search, what you can do with the results of your search. It has great compatibility with other pieces of software (NX, CATIA, also Visualization Mockup). It has an integrated 3D viewer that is enough for 90% of what one would need a 3D Viewer for.

Nachteile:

It is not very intuitive, and thus takes some time of getting used to it, and there aren't many free resources online.

Recommended programme

Kommentare: I can find a reference drawing with the help of it

Vorteile:

All drawings can be easily read and written numbers are enough big to read

Nachteile:

It is slower to click to open drawings at the same time

Powerful software for R&D and Manufacturing Companies

Vorteile:

Teamcenter drives our business. Allowing for good control of product revisions and workflows for approvals, Teamcenter is overall a very good PLM system. While it's immense features can make it complex, especially for new users, it is fairly intuitive and there is decent documentation available. The flexibility and ability for integration of 3rd party systems only strengthens the software package.

Nachteile:

It can be complex for new users and tribal knowledge is one of the best ways to learn.

Average PDM with strengths, but weaknesses you have to get used to

The GUI is not very intuitive and there are a lot of quirks about the product that make it hard to use sometimes.
