Überwachung leicht gemacht

Kommentare: PRTG hebt sich in puncto Verwaltung von der Konkurrenz ab. Es ist einfach zu bedienen und bietet unzählige Möglichkeiten um den Betrieb zu vereinfachen

Vorteile:

Einfache Bedienbarkeit, stetige Weiterentwicklung, zur Überwachung gibt es kaum Grenzen. Man kann eigene Skripte hinterlegen. Schnelle Reaktion auf Issues. Mobile App

Nachteile:

ab einer bestimmten Anzahl an Sensoren, gerade WMI, werden weitere Probes (Server) benötigt um eine Lastverteilung der Server zu erzeugen. Die Weboberfläche ist ab einer gewissen Anzahl recht träge.

Netzwerk Überwachung & Überblick

Kommentare: Seit nun circa zwei Jahren wird PRTG in unserem Unternehmen genutzt. Die Verwaltung, das hinzufügen von neuen Geräten, als auch Einrichtung von Überwachungsgruppen ist sehr einfach. Bisher hat PRTG bei allen Meldungen & Fehler sehr zuverlässig gemeldet.

Vorteile:

- Sehr Übersichtlich - PCs, Drucker, Server, Switche können einfach hinzugefügt werden - Überwachung sehr zuverlässig - Viele Sensoren, die Überwacht werden können - Ständig Up2Date dank Updates

Nachteile:

- Ticketsystem - Bei EPSON WF-Geräten werden die Wartungsboxen nicht überwacht

Pros und Cons

Vorteile:

- Es bietet eine sehr umfangreiche Palette an Sensoren - Die Benutzeroberfläche ist super - Agentenlos

Nachteile:

- schlechte Azure Unterstützung, erst mit teurem 3rd Party Addon können Services in Azure vernünftig abgebildet werden - Die Lizenzierung basiert auf Sensoren, was schnell teuer werden kann, je nachdem, wie viele Informationen Sie sehen möchten

Der Umfang für vordefinierte Sensoren ist massiv und ist in alle Richtungen fast vollständig anpassbar.

Nachteile:

Der Preis für den Wartungsvertrag steigt (wohl auch durch die Inflation) deutlich.

Sehr gute, einfach zu bedienende Monitoring Lösung

Kommentare: PRTG ist bei uns zur Überwachung der Netzwerk- und Serverinfrastruktur im Einsatz. Die Softwar bietet ein übersichtliches Dashboard mit dem Status aller überwachten Endpunkte. Für die meisten Endpunkte findet PRTG automatisch die passenden Sensoren und richtet diese automatisch ein.

Vorteile:

Sehr einfacher Einstieg in das Monitoring mit sehr guter Sensorendatenbank und viel Informationen durch Community und Hersteller.

Nachteile:

Wenn nicht richtig eingerichtet kann ein Postfach schnell mit Benachrichtigungen überschwemmt werden. Grundsätzlich jedoch kein Fehler der Software

PRTG a useful and easy to deploy tool

Kommentare: We started using PRTG with the demo and we realized that it had many functionalities such as email notification and others such as being able to monitor the traffic of an interface or the SNMP of a device and we decided to purchase the licensed version and it has been a great choice.

Vorteile:

What I like most about PRTG is that it is very easy to deploy, in addition to being very intuitive, it does not require much knowledge to configure it. It also has an APP for Android that is very useful and from which you can monitor the services.

Nachteile:

What I like least is that it is a little expensive compared to the competition.

Monitoring with some limits

Kommentare: overall we are pretty happy with this product.

Vorteile:

I really like the scheduled scanning with templates for specific ip ranges, so that even new servers/devices/components directly are monitored without forgetting them to add. Also the possibility to write own sensors with Powershell or other languages is very good.

Nachteile:

Batch management is poor in some places. if you want to manage multiple servers at once it is possible at some places but there are limitations so that some task are pretty repetative if you need to add batches, or you have to use workarounds.

Easy to implement, web based and nearly agent less monitoring

Kommentare: It was easy to install and manage, it's helpling a lot with monitoring and alerting and it's aeasy to use. Also to adapt or tweak thresholds is very easy.

Vorteile:

It's very easy to implement and for a lot of the user cases it does not need an agent or software to be installed

Nachteile:

For well known Enterprise Products e.g. VMWare VCenter there are only limited intergration available.

Simple & Powerful Monitoring tool,feature oriented,reliable sensors

Kommentare: Notifications and mail alerts for minute attributes in all devices rescue us from major hardware or network issues and reduce downtime to a large extent.

Vorteile:

User-friendly dashboard, Easy to configure. High quality sensor reporting, Can monitor almost all server platforms, Networking devices, an awesome product.

Nachteile:

Nothing much to say, almost perfect. The only suggestion is to make it budget-friendly for medium-level customers.

PRTG Network Monitor is a powerful tool

Kommentare: This tool has saved us a lot of time with configuration of in-depth service monitoring

Vorteile:

The ease to implement and on-board new devices into the portal. The out-the-box templates are also very good and enable us to monitor in-depth services with ease

Nachteile:

Bespoke and customised service monitoring is a bit complicated and it would be nice to have more comprehensive documentation on this

PRTG - a helping hand in monitoring devices

Kommentare: After the initial configuration setup the software pretty much finds what needs to be monitored and suggests ever sensor available. So, pretty easy.

Vorteile:

It just took off all the manual work of checking equipments and let's me know when there's a problem.

Nachteile:

Havng to remove the auto discovery sensors manually because my licence didin's allow for that many.

Fast and easy to set up monitoring

Vorteile:

The initial setup of PRTG is very easy, and the 100 free sensors allows you to monitor a reasonable part of your network for free to determine that it will do the desired job - or if you only have a small network, this may be fine to monitor your entire network.

Nachteile:

Some advanced features like the ability to set up auto-remediation of issues would be nice, as would the ability to use PRTG behind Cloudflare.

Best Monitoring Tool for the money

Kommentare: We have a very good experience with the Network Monitor and have recommended to some colleges.

Vorteile:

The ease of setup and configuration and also how to get alerts in case of an issues.

Nachteile:

More option can be added but overall, we are happy for what we were looking for.

PRTG Is a Great Tool for many Organizations

Kommentare: PRTG brings a lot of value to our organization and it works well to notify our Department immediately when something is down. We have a critical need for this. Some of the user interface and customization for alerts could be better though.

Vorteile:

PRTG works on Mac or PC! I can set it up to alert me only on certain items in my org tree by priority, and it works 100% and I don't ever miss notifications.

Nachteile:

Some alert settings could be more customizable or paused for a certain time period easier. The user interface could be setup a little cleaner and up to date.

the best IT infrastructure analysis with PRTG

Kommentare: As technical support of our organization focused on LATAM customers we have made use of different tools with which we monitor the entire deployment of fiber optic network in different countries, PRTG stands out within that palette of monitoring tools since it allows remotely and through its different communication protocols to connect remotely with the different equipment and resources and obtain from them clear and accurate data, In addition, we can geographically locate the different sensors and program preventive alarms according to their impact on the network, the notifications are instantaneous and arrive simultaneously to the personnel who are active in the shift for their immediate reaction.

Vorteile:

When we talk about PRTG we immediately think of a very consistent, stable and oriented tool for the analysis and monitoring of all our network resources, being part of NOC Colombia through PRTG I can have a global view of the status of the fiber optic network and the transport layer equipment involved in it, provides detailed metrics that help us to diagnose the different failures reported by our users and incidentally to generate the trubleshooting of the different failures reported on the access network. Referring to the tool I can say that it has a very complete interface with its different functions strategically located and able to allow adaptation to our needs.

Nachteile:

Based on the criteria of the number of network components (servers, switches, routers, virtual machines) it is necessary to evaluate the type of license which depends on the number of sensors that are required to have absolute vision of all these teams, therefore, the associated costs will rise, although seeing the cost/benefit ratio is justifiable that investment.

Kommentare: My overall experience with the PRTG Network Monitor has been positive. The comprehensive monitoring capabilities allowed me to effectively monitor my network and identify potential issues early on.

Vorteile:

User-friendly interface and easy configuration. Comprehensive monitoring capabilities for networks and systems. Flexibility in customizing alerts and notifications. Good scalability for small to large environments. Regular updates and good support from the manufacturer.

Nachteile:

Potentially longer learning curve due to the variety of features.

PRTG is a great option to monitor your IT assets

Kommentare: The experience has been good in general. Once you get everything done in terms of configurations and custom settings, you basically need to keep watching the dashboard and your email for the notifications.

Vorteile:

I like the interface, which is very versatile and allows you to customize the views that are more important to you. I also like to receive notifications when something happens so we can quickly react and fix.

Nachteile:

Some of the sensors require very complex configurations and that sometimes prevents us to get the most from PRTG. The system is so complete that it also has too much settings for each sensor which sometimes makes the work of configuring them very exausting.

Network Monitoring Master

Kommentare: The platform allows you to easily communicate to customers regarding the fault/s being investigated. This software use to be the preferred monitoring for our core environment.

Vorteile:

This software allows the user to monitor a wide variety of different sensors on a large scale customizable equipment spec. The graphs are easily manipulated and can benefit the user by visualizing the fault/issue being investigated.

Nachteile:

My company has since parted with the software due to other systems being more cost affective however, I still believe it should be good value for your buck considering the features are getting.

Network & Bandwidth Monitoring Tool

Kommentare: Good Product to monitor your networks but for huge network its not sufficient, but for normal networks its good to notify and other feature are very good i-e up time, alert system and cluster fail-over solutions ,
in the last PRTG interface must be need improvments.

Vorteile:

Its a Simple Software to Monitor Network and bandwidth user, application wise. Monitoring & Manage all applications in details statistics in network, Correct Up-time/downtime for devices. *Flexible alerting (different types or Alert are available in this product) Cluster fail-over solution

Nachteile:

Interface is no good and creating huddles in configurations, automatically connection between links is unavailable. Cluster fail-over solution not so good.

Good tool for a fair price

Vorteile:

It is an easy to configure tool, the configuration process does not take more than 10 minutes and it is not necessary to install agents on all your servers.

Nachteile:

Although they have a good knowledge base and related documentation, there is a lack of support for the customer who has purchased a license they should have more real time support by connecting through any tool and seeing the error without so much documentation or evidence that is sometimes required by other means and more support for configurations and troubleshooting or configuration.

Great monitoring software

Kommentare: we use this on a daily basis to monitor disk space, memory usage, and cpu load for various servers and machines. the dashboards with clear warnings combined with email notifications give us a clear picture of trouble spots.

Vorteile:

The free version of PRTG network monitor that comes with 100 sensors allows you to do an in-depth analysis of the sensors available, notifications, architecture, monitoring capabilities etc... to determine if it meets your company's needs. The graphical interfaces, intuitive dashboards, and ease of setup and creating templates and inheritance across devices and types allows for easy use and administration.

Nachteile:

it can get expensive the more devices and sensors you continue to add to the platform so use your trial to evaluate wisely how you will implement and for what types of devices. the auto discovery can be nice but also tends to clutter up things.

Know when there's a problem before the end users start calling

Kommentare: We monitor customer routers that we service and their ISP gateways. We can find out rather quickly when a customer goes down, or when a customer is having an issue with just the router, and we do not have to be actively doing it ourselves. We are just notified when there's an issue and jump in and start resolving right it away.

Vorteile:

It tells me when there is a problem without much overhead on my part, and it puts me ahead of the game before end users start notifying me there is a problem. Its a pretty great feeling being able to call the end user up and tell them that you have already detected a problem and that you were actively working on before they have gotten around to notify you there was even an issue.

Nachteile:

It takes some time to set up and configure the software. Its not as intuitive as I'd like it to be, but its entirely manageable. You just need to invest the time to learn it get it working the way you want and then from that point on its a breeze.

Top five monitor app for IT departments on SMB and corporations 24/7 365 days.

Kommentare: Most of my clients are SMB and need a free option to monitor his IT devices, with a free option it's easier.

Vorteile:

-The free version allows up to 100 sensors to be included on his interface. This feature helps allot of companies IT departments to monitor and compare without limitations. -Easy installation process for core app, available for SNMP devices (almost every tech device has this option). -Add devices for a monitor it's easier than other competitors because its agent less and his auto discover feature make deployment process fast and secure. -Available as web interface with every OS and app for the most important devices (iOS and Android).

Nachteile:

-User guide needs to be adapted for none IT users. -Reports need an experienced partner to customize executive options. -Customer Support it's not the best part of this company, sometimes take days to solve an issue that would take minutes on other monitoring software.
