It's great for what it is!

Kommentare: I have used SeeSaw as a parent with a child in school and as an admin. As an admin, it's alright. It is difficult to pull things up sometimes and you have to know how you want things to go out but as a parent I liked it allot!

Vorteile:

I like that it is well known, a free app for parents, and that it gives a great avenue to keep parents up to date.

Nachteile:

I don't like that it seems to have software kinks and isn't totally user friendly on the admin side. I wish it had a better look and that you could have an admin log in on the app.

Amazing communication and assessment tool!

Kommentare: Fantastic! I use to give my students practice assignments everyday and test their learning.

Vorteile:

I like the ability to communicate with parents easily and the assessment feature is amazing!

Nachteile:

I love all aspects! However, I would like our current reading program, Wonders, to sync with Seesaw automatically.

It’s easy to assign activities to students. Can easily search what you are looking for.

Nachteile:

Some functions are for difficult for student to drag objects.

Kommentare: Great way of connecting with families as I don't always have a phone (numerous buildings throughout the day).

I'm a related service, and it is time consuming to add each individual student/family.

Kindergarten Learning Portfolio

Kommentare: Seesaw is a wonderful platform to use in the classroom with younger learners to get them excited to share with their families about learning.

Vorteile:

Seesaw is easy to use for teachers, students and parents. It’s a way to capture their learning in the classroom and sharing it with stakeholders. It’s amazing!

Nachteile:

I have a harder time managing the folders and getting my students to organize things.

Taken away individual teacher memberships

Kommentare: I love using seesaw in my room with the upgraded option. The free option does not give enough options to make use worthwhile in the classroom.

Vorteile:

I love the ability to assign my students personalized assignments to fit their individual needs!

Nachteile:

I can no longer utilize all of the wonderful tools seesaw provides as they have taken away individual teacher memberships and increased costs to district memberships, which are entirely too expensive for an individual teacher to purchase. Thus leaving it in the hands of districts to decide whether seesaw is beneficial or not.

Great Communication tool

Kommentare: Seesaw has been a great asset to our school district. It was a great form of communication with parents during Covid. As well as assigning work to students during distance learning and continuing now.

Vorteile:

The communication with team members and parents alike.

Nachteile:

I can't think of any specific dislikes in particular

Reflecting in Education

Kommentare: It has been wonderful as a teacher and as a parent to be able to have seesaw.

Vorteile:

Seesaw gives the students a platform to reflect on their learning. This is an often overlooked aspect of education. It also keeps parents connected to whats going on in their students classroom.

Nachteile:

Sometimes, if the students are not trained well, it becomes just a fun place to mess around.

great app for schools

Vorteile:

i had this app from my daughter's school. Each day teacher used to send her pictures, what they did and all the announcements. It was great and very useful.

Nachteile:

Sometimes it was a bit confusing to check the announcements other then that everything is great.

Kommentare: Very good, it has totally changed how we communicate with parents and even students when out of school hours.

Vorteile:

Seesaw is great for communication with students and parents. I can choose to send announcements, or create two way conversations. Families can message me with questions. It works really well.

Nachteile:

Giving students pre-made templates is good, but the templates are just a background picture for them to write over. It would be great if elements were editable. For example, asking them to move objects into the correct category.

Seesaw heehaw!

Vorteile:

This product was a lifesaver Especially during the beginnings of the pandemic when we were all scrambling to get information to the kids and collecting it without seeing them in person staying apart. It was a lifesaver. Whatever the price it was it was worth it.

However, scheduling for it to appear on the lesson plans at all it’s a good feature but I did not know how to do it by myself so I did it wrong many times in the beginning and we set a lot of time it would be nice to have a feature video that would demonstrate how to do certain functions because I didn’t wanna waste anyone’s time to show me so I have to play around with it by myself.

Seesaw in Anderson One

Kommentare: I used Seesaw as a classroom teacher and now I enjoy getting to share the best ways to implement Seesaw in pre-K to 5th grade classrooms. I love seeing our ESL, speech, related, guidance, and administrators join classroom teachers on Seesaw so that the entire school is connected. It is by far my absolute favorite tool for elementary teachers!!

Vorteile:

We have eight elementary schools in our district and they are all Seesaw for Schools. We have loved using Seesaw to engage our students, document learning, assess understanding, and communicate with families. Recently we used Seesaw blogs to connect our schools across the district so that they could share and comment on each other's writing.

Nachteile:

Seesaw continues to update and make changes to make it easier for both teachers and students to use. We have made some suggestions for future updates but are very happy with the current product!

My Favorite

Vorteile:

There is so much you can do with Seesaw! I have used it for 3 years now and I can't say enough about how amazing it is. I became an ambassador for it 2 years ago and use the paid version. It's also includes an extension where students can take screenshots and embed them into their work. They have made many upgrades through out the years as well. I love how they change and adapt to their clientele.

Nachteile:

The paid version is amazing, the free version is still good but not nearly as many features.

Seesaw: Easy to Use and a Great Way to Stay in Touch with Families

Kommentare: I can't imagine not using Seesaw now that I have used it for a number of years.
I text with parents and share pictures so they can feel like part of the classroom community.
This year, we did many activities and posted them so kids had a real audience for their work.
My early readers love recording themselves reading . . .they are so proud!

Vorteile:

The ease of use of Seesaw amazes me. It can be used on phones, computers or tablets. I started using it to keep in touch with parents a number of years ago. This year I finally started trying the activities functionality and loved it. There is a free version and a paid version. This year our district paid using COVID funds. I cannot say enough good things about this product. I teach kindergarten, and my "littles" are independent with the tools in no time.

Nachteile:

I would like to see a behavior tracking function like Class Dojo.

Seesaw Is A Sanity Saver! A+A+A+

Kommentare: My experience with SeeSaw has been FANTASTIC. Our school district is & has been doing remote learning exclusively since the last part of the last school year. I have 2 children 1 in 3rd grade and 1 in 1st. I AM NOT A HOME SCHOOLING MOM. This is all new to me. When the switch to remote learning happened it was a mess. Each of the kids had multiple sites, apps, etc where they had different passwords, assignments, and assigned time. It was impossible to keep up, I was always missing information and assignments. Fearful the kids were falling behind and we were doing school work from the time we woke up til the time we went to bed & still didn't have everything completed & turned in. I was overwhelmed/devastated at just the thought of doing that again this year. But, now we are using SeeSaw and I have my sanity & time back! Everything is in one place. The kids can use it independently. I am no longer missing information or assignments. It has Been a life saver. I cannot say enough good things about it.

It is easy to use! Well structured! Nothing unnecessary added, simple, organized, easy to learn and easy to use!

Nachteile:

Lack of direct communication features ie, messaging or email between parents and staff all In one centralized place.

Amazing educational product!

Vorteile:

Seesaw is one of the best products I have used as an educator. I started using it with in person learning and it was such a great asset. Once we went to distance learning, it made the transition so much easier. I am able to give directions and assign different assignments. The students can complete the assignment, turn it in and I can respond to them individually. I can also share student presentations with the rest of the class, and they can leave positive comments. I am able to share and communicate with families. It is an excellent product!

Nachteile:

I wish I would have started using it earlier in my career.

Remote Learning Ease

Vorteile:

The ease of seeing what assignments my kids needed to complete was of very high importance. It was so easy my pre-schooler could figure it out. Being able to complete them in the app and even send messages to the teachers was flawless.

Nachteile:

Perhaps maybe being able to categorize assignments. Like "Science" , "For fun", "Reading"...etc.

Seesaw

Kommentare: Overall Seesaw has been fantastic for our primary grade students!

Vorteile:

The addition of Seesaw to our learning environment has added a tremendous learning experience for our k through grade 2 students.

Nachteile:

At first, it takes time to get familiar with the features and shortcuts when creating assignments for student work.

SeeSaw is Great for Students!

Vorteile:

I love the ability for students to add photos, videos, drawings, and audio to show off their knowledge. It's also great for me to add audio.

Nachteile:

I wish there was a way to save just one page of student work and not the whole zip file.

1st Grade Use

Vorteile:

easily shares student work with families and I can see if parents have viewed messages

Nachteile:

sometimes it is hard to find certain settings and I want to be able to send an announcement to specific parents but not necessarily every parent

Seesaw is a Good Alternative for E-Learning

Kommentare: Seesaw was simple to use for the most part, attractive for kids and parents, but not free. I think it's a great tool for e-learning for elementary students, but it would be better if the cost was free.

Vorteile:

What I liked most about Seesaw was that parents seemed to enjoy seeing their kids' work in the classroom. Also, there are several tutorials online to help you implement Seesaw into your classroom and I know many teachers who use this, especially during the pandemic.

Nachteile:

Seesaw is a paid subscription, unlike ClassDojo that is free for teachers. With all the budget cuts due to the Pandemic, I wanted something free, so I ended up choosing ClassDojo over Seesaw.
