I talked to the development team a bit and was able to use an API to port in customer information which was super helpful. I think CRM is useful, but not inclusive and currently use JobNimbus.
Very difficult to understand the system by your self.

Kommentare: It is a tool that has helped make my estimating more efficient. I love that just as we seek to improve processes in our company they too are growing with us.
Vorteile:
Bolster is customizable to many styles of estimating. The customer support just keeps geting better. [sensitive content hidden] has always been so responsive and really makes sure you understand a concept before letting you go. They are open to suggestions to improve the system, with having their development team in house.
Nachteile:
I'm not an IT guy so it took me a bit to get used to. I am sure someone who is more adept at software will have no problem. The PDF format that I print out for the hardcopy is quite lengthy. Consolidation would make it easier to look through for client and crew. I would like to see the Change Order component populate as a separate summary from the originally signed estimate. That way the client and crew doesn't have to sift throught the entire original estimate to find the changes.
Bolster review
Kommentare: It is a work in progress. I am always in contact with Bolster for these issues and they get them corrected with time. Bolster is very perceptive to the complaints.
Vorteile:
It is an upgrade from the original Bolster Cost Certified.
Nachteile:
There have been issues where Bolster sends out invoices when we have not sent them. Not sending receipts when we click send paid invoice to the customer.

Kommentare: We have been using Bolster for over a year now. We absolutely love it. The first couple months bids will be slow as your building up your items & assemblies. But once that's done, bids get a lot faster.
Vorteile:
Our customers love the format that allows them to selection different options for items i.e. plumbing fixtures, flooring types etc.
Nachteile:
Having a lot of issues with the new updated version. But Bolster has been working with me diligently to correct them as they come up. It's all part of updating things.

Kommentare: These guys went over and beyond to prove the value of the software. They saw I was just getting started and helped tremendously. I can honestly say customers impressions of my bids have landed more jobs. If you understand excel this tool has more uses than one can imagine.

Bolster has a very simple way of putting together an estimate. Best part is it saves time, money AND creates a customer experience as they view their interactive estimate that I would have no way of replicating without Bolster.
Nachteile:
That they don't design all construction software....other stuff sucks.

Kommentare: Great for sales and estimating. Able to expand our business because of the fast estimates, assemblies and presentable quotes.

Good estimating software, great presentations, nice selection tools. Easy to use when set up and have won more jobs as a result.
Nachteile:
Nothing, Bolster has all the features we need.
Take a year of subscription in advance then leave customers in the dark
Kommentare: They collect full payment up front then don't even help set up software

Customer service and help setup was a joke. Showed up to an onboarding webinar where there employee basically tells you good luck your on your own. if you need help they expect you to just watch a video.

The professional proposals that we accurately and quickly get to clients where they have options right within the system. How easily it customizes to our niche business and makes the process clean from start to finish.
Nachteile:
There’s really nothing we did not like. Because our company offers a very custom product, it took some time to get our items into system but it has paid off!!!!

Buyer beware
Kommentare: After 7 or so hour long meetings, we were increasingly feeling like this was going to take more time/energy and money (we were paying our guy to set the things up that the Bolster team should have been doing). We met with a "success management" person (who is nice btw, but not really helpful) a few times to go over the pros/cons and took the time to explain the issues we were having. The best they could offer was a "do-over" and basically start from the beginning and go through the whole process again. He said we weren't properly onboarded and assured us if we spent the time again to be onboarded correctly, we would be happy. We decided we didn't have the bandwidth to invest more time and energy into this product, we weren't even sure it was going to be a good fit for us. If you choose to move forward, be sure what they offer will be a good fit for your particular situation. Know you will be spending at least $4000 a year for this product, which will one day be worth that... but currently, it is not. Way too expensive for what you get. I wish the on boarding team would have directed us more, maybe the way we were supposed to be in the first place. But, they did not and now we have to move on and are out $4000. Good news is, we found a better fit for us and its half the cost. Guess I have to chalk this up to an expensive lesson, but hopefully our story will help another business owner save their money.

The concept of what they have to offer is what we liked best. During the sales process, we were shown a beautiful estimate (similar to what we would be sending our potential customers) that had a WOW factor for sure. We liked that the customer could interact with the estimate, upgrade or downgrade to make the project fit their wants/needs and their budget.
Nachteile:
It is a super complex system to get up and running. We had read this in other reviews and were prepared to spend the 6+ weeks working with the team to build out the templates, calculators and back-end processes to make the product work for us. Unfortunately, meeting with the development team didn't quite pan out the way we anticipated. We attended 7-8 meetings and somehow the message was sent to them that we only wanted to meet to ask questions, rather than get the help we needed to build this out. Also, the project management side is non-existent. So, you'll have to purchase another program to manage that side of your business. The price is crazy expensive for what you get. You only get one user for the $4000 and have to pay extra for additional users, this made it challenging for 3 of us to use the software for estimating, reporting and assigning tasks. No trial period. Which they say is because it's too customizable to offer..Okay, fair. It is very customizable, but if you believe in your product, you should have a way to stand behind it. Even with stipulations would be understandable, like you can get a percentage of a refund if you attend all 6-7 of your scheduled training sessions. That to me tells the customer you need them to show up for their part of the deal, but you believe in your product enough to make users feel confident in their $4000 purchase.
Avoid this software
Kommentare: Really poor. Implementation without a roadmap. Selling features that don't exist yet or are unusable - for example "auto cost" feature.... where you have to sort through thousands of sku's and cannot search. "That new update is coming soon".
Vorteile:
The ability to visualize upgrades in the estimating process was the most attractive feature.
Nachteile:
The "coming soon" features. Most of the features they have you cannot actually use currently. Very bait and switch-ish.

Half-baked, and unusable
Kommentare: Amateur hour. This product is so incomplete as to be unusable. They take your money anyway -- for the year. Borderline scam.

The concept is fine. Wish they would bother to execute it.

Paying 6K for a half-baked, not thought through product that they'd like for us to build for them.

Kommentare: Excellent! CostCertified way ahead of its competition from what I can tell. It allows for flexibility and company growth.
Vorteile:
Can’t say enough about the value of CostCertified software. I can prepare painting quotes in minutes. The advantage this offers is that product items or full house assemblies can be accessed with a click of your mouse. Pricing can also be saved per item as all the information can be preloaded. As you add new items it will be saved to your own company database. Which is also accessible with your phone or iPad as it’s cloud based. The system also has CRM built-in so that you can see when your customers have last viewed their quote so that you can follow up. Also, scheduling is going to be available by the end of October. CostCertified offers full onboarding support to help you set up your company files if required. You can also personalize pictures for your customers so that they can better relate to your quotes.
Nachteile:
None at this point. I have used the product for 5 years now and the company has made many improvements over that time.
Great GC Tool!
Kommentare: Nice software to be used to prepare neat and impressive quote.

Easy, simple and efficient. Great tools in the GC industry to prepare quotes and presentation to client with a great clarity and simplicity.
Nachteile:
Wish if it has more templates that represent average prices and a common scopes like new houses, additions, and similar traditional construction in the United States.

It seems so robust that features may not be needed it needs to be simplified.

Imafter i purchase the product for $1700 for half year i couldnt get no one to help the guy who was goin to help me creat my profile and set everything up went on vacation and never got back i think and there is no refund they do not refund your money

Kommentare: It sounded like a great idea and I do believe it would have been great. We paid $3,500 for one year but never got it up and running. They don't tell you how much you will actually have to do to build the software for you. We were super disappointed in it and did not renew. We basically just threw away $3500.

It is a great concept but it is a huge load on the company to get the information to Bolster to get the software up and running.
Nachteile:
The enormous amount of time and work it was going to take to get all the information to Bolster to be able to use the software.

Once i got used to using the software doing a whole home quote was fast and simple. After setting up my database you could pick items from past quote to use over and over

The learning curve of using the software and then changing alot of the labour pricing and it was not inline with our local market

Great Onboarding Experience
Kommentare: I felt CostCertified was upfront from the beginning, they were supportive, honest, and transparent. My CSM was so dedicated to my onboarding and went above and beyond the allotted time working on my account, spending as much time as required to get my account fully set up. The ongoing support was a great value add, CostCertified was dedicated to constantly improving their service, which really speaks to their priority being the contractor, and delivering the best product for their customers
Vorteile:
So customizable to the way I do business and my branding, giving my company a professional image and appearance for my customers
Nachteile:
Customers struggled with the non-traditional estimate format
Do Not Purchase without a trial
Kommentare: Purchased with expectation of fast pricing based on square and linear feet. Except that’s an extra fee on top of the already expensive yearly subscription, and it’ll take months to build it out. Other programs are 1/6 the cost for a better user experience and more features with a more refined interface. Not a good fit? “Sorry, we don’t have a refund policy”
Vorteile:
Not much. Software is clunky. Try to highlight something and it backs out and you lose all the changes you just made. Editing items is tedious.
Nachteile:
Don’t purchase this program without a long trial, or only do monthly payments. They will not refund any time not used or work with you whatsoever if it isn’t a good fit.
Amazing estimates

Helpful for our design process after estimating
Kommentare: This definitely saves time, but the amount to set up is a little daunting and even frustrating at times.
Vorteile:
We really like that this gives our potential clients the ability to interact with their proposal to adjust the price and pick the types of fixtures they want. We find it really helps in the design process to pick out something that we know is in their price range.
Nachteile:
There are certain things with the software that is a little clunky, like adjusting the viewing settings, deleting items, and creating assemblies that work for every job (this has been challenging since every project is different for us).
