Goosechase is great for engaging students in learning!

Kommentare: As soon as I used it during an educator workshop, I immediately started using it in my high school classes where it is a fun and engaging way to review material or introduce a new topic.

Vorteile:

Easy to use, easy to set up, user friendly, allows for multiple teams, has free educator version to try, allows administrator to see entries in real time and message participants

Nachteile:

Only 5 teams can use it for the educator/free version which means I can only run a game during a class period if I want to use it again the same day. Having 5 teams as a max also means the teams are large and some students can be less engaged.

Easy, customizable with room for improvement

Kommentare: We love everything about it except the fact that we can’t zoom in while taking a picture.

Vorteile:

I love that we can keep staff and families engaged whether we’re near or far from each other. We also love seeing everyone else’s submissions and learning more about each other in a fun and creative way. The ability to customize is the best feature. As an admin, I love being able to set it and forget it since it’s all automated.

Nachteile:

The one complaint that I get over and over is that we can’t zoom in with the camera. I agree and that’s also my biggest complaint. Paying this much for a subscription should include the ability to zoom. We also feel that we should be able to comment on other teams/participants submissions or add to the like feature with other reactions. As an administrator of the games, I’d like to be able to see who/how many people are logged in for each team so I can help facilitate set up before the game begins.

Bang for your Buck

Kommentare: We love the ease of the website, how you can customize, and also the ability to add your own content. We love the live action leaderboard as well.

Vorteile:

I love the features. I love that it is child and adult friendly. I love that we can access it at school. I also love that we can access it with their devices as well.

Nachteile:

The thing I don't like the most is the price. We use it every year for our Vacation Bible School for the groups to gain more points. We also use it for church events as I am a teacher AND a events/social media manager for our church. At school, I use it for different units and for events as well. The hard thing about school is that we are at an area that doesn't have a lot of cell service so we have to use our iPads and we are limited there with the number of devices. I am part of the educator discount, but it is still just so pricey to use, especially if I was only using it in my classroom. I do appreciate the educator discount however.

The best app for interactive experiences (yet)

Vorteile:

This was far easier to use and develop with than anything I've ever used. With just 3 options (text, GPS, photo/video), Goosechase allows for a world of possibility. The ability to lock and unlock experiences based on time, adds even more flexibility and options to a platform already filled to the brim with them. The few times that I've had questions or issues, The Nest, Goosechase's community forum, was incredibly helpful and quick to respond.

Nachteile:

Mission design is a bit clunky and there are some seemingly obvious features that are missing. When there are more than just a few missions, reorganizing them via drag-and-drop is a pain. If there's a way to copy or template missions, I'm not sure what it is. Adding the ability to unlock missions based on the completion of previous missions feels like a missing feature that would unlock an entire galaxy of new experience possibilities.

Fun Way to Engage and Build Community

Kommentare: I absolutely love this product. We use it for staff engagement, building school community, and a bit of a brain break from the very information heavy professional developments our teachers participate in. With this product we can integrate movement, competition, and a fun activity to get teachers moving and collaborating with one another. Sometimes our challenges are just fun and other times we add in content, but overall we love using GooseChase.

Vorteile:

I love that Goosechase has a live stream that users can see in real time of all the fun challenges participants are creating. I also love that you can download those pictures and save the memories for each event.

Nachteile:

Adding preassigned teams can be a little tricky if you don't really take your time, but after looking into the directions I got it done.

Goosechase changed the game for our orientation

Kommentare: Overall, this was an enormous hit. Our students had a blast, got involved immediately, and it was so so easy to track the leaderboard, download and use the images, and I loved how interactive it was during play.

Vorteile:

We wanted to find an app that would allow us to create a dynamic orientation event for our MBA students in their first week of school. It was so easy to use, update, and add missions that choosing them was a no brainer. I loved the option to have a video/photo, GPS, or text mission to create a diverse event for my students. I loved being able to message them in the middle of the game, and to use the submissions immediately to promote the game the next day and for future marketing.

Nachteile:

The one thing that was challenging was moving the missions into a custom order. I wanted the missions in a specific order, and when I created a new one, moving it to the right spot was challenging - I had to drag it to the right spot, and for some reason this was harder than it sounds.

Engagement Fun

Kommentare: Overall, the experience is fun, and it is useful for getting participants engaged.

Vorteile:

The best thing about Goosechase is that it is a fun and energetic tool that gets participants engaged in a path of discovery while activating their creativity through healthy competition. It is very user friendly.

Nachteile:

Initially, it is a little awkward to get set up, but after an administrator does it once, it is relatively easier to navigate. It could be a little more intuitive on the administrator's side.

Goosechase

Kommentare: Goosechase has been a great tool to use with co-workers and students alike. We have received great feedback from participants.

Vorteile:

Goosechase is very easy to use. It is a great tool to highlight and encourage your co-workers to explore a new place. Perfect for conferences and team building. Also great tool for teachers to have students learn about a topic asynchronously in a fun interactive.

Nachteile:

The hardest part in using this tool is coming up with missions for participants to do. There are many missions already created which you can modify to fit your needs.

Scavenger Hunt App

Kommentare: My overall experience was 5/5 stars. I really like the application and look forward to using the platform for future scavenger hunts our team plans to have in our community.

Vorteile:

I have been searching for new ideas for our community scavenger hunts and I absolutely love the idea of this platform. Electronic devices have the majority of our children and adults engagement, so by using an app on their phones for the scavenger hunt was so much fun and so much easier to plan.

Nachteile:

The only downfall to this program would be the need for Wifi connection while using the platform. The location available for our scavenger hunt was unfortunately away from any wifi connection. There are methods to work around this small mishap as long as you have the right connections. Overall

Creative way to engage employees

Kommentare: We use Goosechase mainly for our employee events. We celebrate Employee Appreciation Week each year in March and engage our employees in a scavenger hunt through Goosechase for a variety of different activities. We pull raffle prize winners from those that participate!

Vorteile:

We love to gather pictures of our employees engaging in all the fun activities through the different scavenger hunts we create and share them on our intranet page or in email articles. It is fun to see all the different interactions and to see our employees smiling. This is such an easy and fun way to capture these fun memories and moments.

Nachteile:

I have not found anything I would say I like "least" about Goosechase. I think overall the program has a lot of different use cases and I enjoy reading how others have used this program at their organizations through the Goosechase library.

A Teacher's Dream!

Vorteile:

Goosechase is a fast and efficient and free (for up to 5 groups) way for educators to desing target-specific tasks. The safety features allow for students to express themselves via video and photo in a secure manner only seen by the educator-a rare gift in our social media driven society. I highly recommend Goosechase for team building and educational lessons that have a high impact on learning.

Nachteile:

Perhaps Goosechase would consider offering even more than 5 free particpants for the educational setting?

Back to School Team Building

Vorteile:

Setting up missions for my faculty to complete during our team-building event was very easy. My staff was highly engaged and enjoyed participating in the Goosechase. Several faculty members even decided to use Goosechase in their lessons during the school year after participating.

Nachteile:

The only suggestion I would make is to offer education accounts the ability to have 6 teams instead of 5. Our class sizes are increasing each year and 6 teams would help us to have manageable team sizes. Alternatively, giving the option to have a monthly payment option for the paid educator account.

A game changer!

Kommentare: I've used GooseChase for several virtual programs since 2020. It has been a great resource for me as a 4-H coordinator and they youth have tons of fun with it. Our GooseChases are not your traditional scavenger hunt, but give youth various tasks to complete. The video submissions are always the best, but require a length limit warning.

Vorteile:

The app is very easy to use and has a wide range of applications.

Nachteile:

There are a few features that are hard to find, like sending a message to participants. We also do a lot of random prize drawings from teams that have actually participated, so a random drawing feature would be cool.

A life saver in the classroom

Kommentare: I cannot imagine doing my job without this tool. My students love Goose Chase!

Vorteile:

As a high school Campus Minister, I lead retreats for students and staff which require me to engage 40-150 people at the same time! Goose Chase is an easy way for me to create interactive lessons that teach themselves so that I can attend to another group or task.

Nachteile:

I find the library to be too small which means I always have to create my own missions. I wish there was a way to access other Chases so to share ideas.

Absolute engagement

Kommentare: It’s literally my favorite software based activity.

Vorteile:

This activity is so unlike anything else. I have never not had 100 percent engagement in any goosechase I have facilitated. From small children up to adult admins.

Nachteile:

No one in my district except me has the opportunity to use it enough to justify a higher tier membership. So when I model it for teachers they are always frustrated by the limits of the free plan, but a school wide plan wouldn’t get used enough to justify the cost.

Museum uses GooseChase for a fundraiser

Kommentare: No one in our area is using this app for fundraising so to be have a unique event is always fun.

Vorteile:

GooseChase is an easy to download app that each team could use to answer custom questions related to the history of an area. This was used for 3 hours during the competition.

Nachteile:

As admins we had certain questions that we scheduled at certain times through out the day. This feature did not work as easily as we expected. GooseChase Admin listened to our concerns.

Team building with Goosechase

Kommentare: I am really enjoying the experience of Goosechase for TeamBuilding and completing otherwise mundane tasks that are often asked of our staff.

Vorteile:

I love the pre-existing choices of missions but also love the ability to customize and create our own missions.

Nachteile:

Although I love the ability for missions to be released on a time schedule, I do find this feature difficult to set up. However, the "Help/Support" feature was immediate and excellent to help me succeed.

New Teachers Love Goosechase

Kommentare: We have used Goosechase to introduce our new teachers to the school district for 5+ years. This is always an entertaining and fun way for them to tour the district and show what we are all about. Many of them go on to implement a Goosechase in their own classrooms.

Vorteile:

We love the ability to add custom and location based challenges and for our teams to play collaboratively.

Nachteile:

Some of the features are more difficult to find, for example the group messaging function

Get GooseChase!

Kommentare: I use Goosechase with my students, for staff training and also at conferences to increase engagement.

Vorteile:

Amazingly adaptive for all ages. I use it with my students, staff and to increase engagement at conferences. It’s a way to capture learning in a job threatening way.

Nachteile:

Must use on app or phone, limits who can use it.

Goosechase EDU for Educators

Kommentare: I have successfully used GoosechaseEDU over the past few years with all of my student cohorts. It is wonderful for summaries of learning, campus orientation, end-of-year get-togethers, and more.
Unfortunately, I am now downgrading as a result of the price rise.

Vorteile:

Goosechase activities are always a big success. They can be educational or social, and they always are appreciated by students. The variety of options makes it suitable for all educational frameworks.

Nachteile:

Recently the price for educators doubled, making the program no longer a viable option for educators.

Teacher using it for school and home

Kommentare: I've used this as my extended family's Christmas activity, for my son's band activities, and for a meeting with adults.

Vorteile:

I enjoy being able to write my own missions. It is very user friendly and easy for the players to understand as well.

Nachteile:

I would like to be able to have more than 5 teams, but I appreciate being able to have 5 for free!

Love the product - not the increase in cost

Kommentare: I LOVE Goosechase and would continue it but price went up so it is something I have to consider letting go this year.

Vorteile:

missions and then how easy it is to go live - I really like how interactive it is - you can see pictures scrolling, give bonus points, tips, etc.

Nachteile:

The price went up and it is significant.

Using technology to create an experience

Kommentare: Overall my students and athletes love using this app to bring gamification into the classroom and compete!

Vorteile:

GooseChase allows me to create various experiences and to connect electronically with my students.

Nachteile:

GooseChase doubled the price for educators which makes it not worth renewing for the limited times I use it.

Great for engagement in digital teaching and learning.

I like the mobile features and the cost reduction for education. We would not be able to afford it otherwise.

Nachteile:

Sometimes our folks do not have wifi or cell signal. I would also like to use it with classrooms, but it doesn't integrate with chromebooks.
