Vorteile:

The customer service is top notch. Every time I call in, whoever is on the other line is always ready and eager to answer any questions I may have. They also provide useful input on strategy with how to create a button, modifier or how to implement an idea I have in my head and put it to use via our POS.

Nachteile:

The keyboard is the only negative thing with SpotOn. It's a funny joke amongst our staff at how awesome the system is top to bottom but the keyboard is the only part of SpotOn restaurant we don't understand.

Kommentare: Great reps, someone’s always nearby to help, very versatile. Overall I’ve enjoyed it and it works well with our restaurant amenities - happy hour, private parties, etc.

Vorteile:

Very user friendly for staff. Pretty user friendly for back of house. Tech support and (especially [sensitive content hidden]) are very responsive and helpful. I also appreciate how everything is intertwined if you go with the whole package - POS, Reserve, & Teamwork.

Nachteile:

Had black out issues and the entire POS deleted itself before dinner service one day, but it was back up and running pretty quickly. I also wish there was a way to add more than one button at a time to the menu screens list at the bottom of each screen. Very time consuming to set up, but once it’s done it’s done.

Kommentare: I am extremely disappointed with SpotOn’s services and lack of professionalism. We entered into an agreement with SpotOn under the promise of a comprehensive food truck setup and a system that would function without internet connectivity. Unfortunately, none of these promises were fulfilled. The Kitchen Display System (KDS) has not been working as expected, and despite our repeated attempts to get help, we have received no resolution. Communication with SpotOn has been abysmal. Every request for a manager’s callback has been ignored, leaving us to deal with significant operational challenges on our own. This situation has led to the loss of multiple food truck events and forced a 24-hour delay in opening our brick-and-mortar establishment due to the menu team’s failure to complete their responsibilities. The lack of professionalism extends to the website team as well, who have consistently ignored our emails. This entire experience has been extremely frustrating and unacceptable. Given these ongoing issues, we are now seeking a full refund for the services and equipment provided, along with the termination of our contract. I urge SpotOn to address this matter immediately, as our attorney is now involved and will be sending a formal letter if this is not resolved promptly.

Vorteile:

Sales rep & installer were the only two employees from SpotOn that have attempted to rectify the ongoing issues. I’ve requested the local manager call me 5+ times now - I’ve never once heard from him.

Nachteile:

I like nothing about SpotOn. The in-house issues it’s now causing has taken it to a new level of dissatisfaction.

SpotOn misled me while I had a decent service for a few months with what was then transparent pricing.

Kommentare: SpotOn advertised to me stellar rates, low fees, and a free machine, so I signed up to process cards with my business. Everything went well for a few months until I looked at my bank statement and saw that they started charging me more for the same program. Nothing changed on my end and my revenue stayed consistent. It took me a while to get in touch with someone to discuss and eventually cancel. They did not make me pay any penalties but nobody could provide me a valid reason as to why I had to pay more every single month without mention. I cancelled. Bad end experience overall.

Vorteile:

SpotOn does provide a competitive price for CC processing and POS systems included. They advocate cash discount pricing to eliminate credit card fees. They have multiple support lines. Month to month agreement no penalties for exiting.

Nachteile:

SpotOn increased my monthly fee rate without telling me. I had a $25/month POS system usage fee with a free Pax A920 Pro to use. Over time without mention, it went to $40 and then $50. I could not have anybody explain to me what happened. Not a fan of misleading pricing and undercuts. I cancelled.

Just the Begining

Kommentare: There have been ups and downs, a few network outages and quirks that required support but overall we are getting to know the equipment and with the Help of [sensitive content hidden]
are tweaking the software and hardware to where it helps us process the customers and payments.

Vorteile:

I like the fact that this is flexible when it comes to hardware, when you can have a multitude of registers and handheld devices.

Nachteile:

What still needs to be expanded is the handheld device. The device will take orders but the process to create the order is a multi step process and when you are busy this increases the stress. Plus the device has a scanner but will not scan upc codes, so you can't use this to process order without manual entry and that is not efficient.

Hard to learn

Kommentare: The sales man know nothing, does not have any knowledge about how to operate equipment, when asked just texts you to call support. Pushy sales man promises the world then does nothing, talking about us behind our backs to other restaurants, that I know the [sensitive content hidden].. my other pos company was night and day better, always answer my questions, phone calls, never pushed me aside to handle it on my own. Only have 1 tech guy to help with repairs and is never in the state, so I have to hook up and fix my new broken equipment, the list goes on and on.

Able to do more work from home, using own computer

Nachteile:

Not much, the equipment is faulty, have replaced a kitchen printer, a monitor and waiting on what’s next

We appreciate the responsiveness of the staff at SpotOn. We feel supported by their support team and like we have contingencies in place in case something were to go wrong like internet outtage and system glitches. We feel these would be quickly handled and tended to.

Nachteile:

There's a learning curve with SpotOn. The system can be a little bit confusing to understand at first because you have to be navigate different websites. However, the staff is always available.

Kommentare: I have had nothing but issues from the very moment I agreed to sign up. I was sold hard on the program as it was hard for me to make the change, and once I signed up- it was nothing but issues. At one point I just went back to my original Point of Sale and continued just making my monthly payments on the SpotOn program still trying to get my funds refunded back to me. One of the managers actually had the audacity to negotiate my refund amount with me. Then told me my previous rep had called them and told them she didn't make a mistake and that I had signed up for splitting the transaction fee with my customer? WHAT.

Vorteile:

I thought the ease of taking a credit card as payment would be beneficial to my business. A lot of Point of Sale systems charge a transaction fee for each transaction, so to me, it should help me make things flow smoother day to day.

Nachteile:

What I like the very least about SpotOn is the amount of missing funds that I found when I looked into my account. I had to then go spend quite a bit of time double checking everything to make sure I was getting paid. That alone was the biggest deterrent. The application, and what I found out later was their only contract, which was unfortunate because our service representative signed us up for both fee options not one or the other. Our business had the option to pass along the fee to the customer or to split the fee with the customer. For some reason, we were signed up for both. We had some pages that were showing one way and others for another option. I trusted my rep to submit the application in completion and for some reason that did not happen. The odd thing was that a couple months into our contract, the fee was option was switched. They claimed it was changed because it was incorrect. No one informed us of this. The new fee was different from what I had intially signed up for. One rep on the phone looked up our contract online and also made the statement that it looked like we had signed up for both options. But how could that have made any sense? Were we getting charged for even more? I reached out to my rep about the fees coming out on our end as well as the customers and was told she would look into it. Never heard back. Months later when my funds got frozen, I reached out to her only to find out she was let go. No one told me, I just was left without help.

A Bit of a Roller Coaster

Kommentare: I was really excited to get information about SpotOn, especially since I knew the sales rep personally. After many conversations, my company finally gave the green light, but that's when some of the wheels started to come off. Communication was greatly lacking about next steps and what we could expect or needed to do on our side. There wasn't a confirmation of what equipment I needed, and we weren't set up to run different revenue centers like I had requested, so we're still not up and running where we need to be. Implementation and installation team have been great, very helpful, we're just not getting the support and guidance we had expected, and feel a little left in the dark.

Vorteile:

It's not an app in the way that Square is, and the handheld devices don't have to rely on wi-fi, it's also fairly user-friendly Implementation and Installation teams have been great

Nachteile:

Once we got the new system approved, we felt a bit ghosted by our rep. I am still waiting on the rest of my equipment, and still waiting for the rest of my organization to get properly set up and haven't received any follow ups.

Going above and beyond

Kommentare: It was rocky in the beginning. But now that I have met my case manager [sensitive content hidden] who knows a lot and fixed every problem that was done wrong by my area manager. She really messed a lot up. thanks to [sensitive content hidden], [sensitive content hidden], [sensitive content hidden] who went above and beyond to fix everything. The Pos is very easily understandable to use.

Very easy program to use. 24 hr customer support.

Nachteile:

There were promises before signed up with Areas rep . She mad a lot of mistakes and did not really know about the product she was selling. I the end spot on made up for it.

I am beginning to think that the spoton company is a SCAM. I did not like anything about the comapany and its device, the device was slow to process the transactions and the other half the time it did not process the transactions at all. It has been over two months since i tried cancelling my subscription it has been impossible to cancel. One thing that has been possible is taking money out my account. Every time i called some higher up suppose to call me back but never does. I am going to report this SCAMPANY to the authorities
