Navigation in data is superior

Kommentare: DbVisualizer became my primary database tool, and I don't want to miss it.

Vorteile:

I often must navigate in the database's data, and that's where DbVisualizer shines.

Nachteile:

The code completion is not as good as with DataGrip

DBViz works well for me

Kommentare: I use it everyday. The Pro version is a must as I often have many tabs open.

Vorteile:

I like the export functionality the best. It is also fairly easy to set up the drivers and connect. The option for Dark mode is a lifesaver.

Nachteile:

I wish there was a better way to alias columns in bulk, instead of typing ,a. in from of all of them. I wish there was a word wrap on editor tabs so that if I have a long name for a query file it doesn't take up so much horizontal space.

Great to use

Kommentare: Great for exploring tables within databases. Very easy to create a connection to a database, and it is more or less intuitive to use.

Vorteile:

For viewing tables in a database -- very helpful!

Nachteile:

My only con about is that I use SAS for data management activities, and it is easier to use SAS/ACCESS instead of querying the database via DBVisualizer, then importing that output into SAS.

DbVisualizer: A Solid Choice for Database Management

Kommentare: I work with DbVisualizer since 2013 and see how it is evolving over time: adding new databases, new features to databases or making UI nicer.
Mostly I use SQL to analyze data and develop tables/views/procedures in different databases.

Vorteile:

It has a nice user interface, support many different databases (just add jdbc). Makes a life of DB developer or analyst much easier.

Nachteile:

It can be demanding on system resources (memory), especially when working constantly on large datasets - I mean keeping lots of data tabs open. And it's written in Java, so all that heap/memory usage topics.

Great tool for browsing databases

Kommentare: We were using the free version of this tool since many years: there was enough functionnalities for developer purpose. I tried the PRO version and it is really a gain of time for inserting/updating/deleting datas. I recommend this tool for his lower price and lot of functionnality comparing to othe 'big' one.

Vorteile:

The most usefull functionnality for me is the simplicity of the interface and the number of various database I can set up like Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase.

Nachteile:

In the free version, the scripts we can generate to insert/update/delete data is not always working correctly. In a Citrix environment maybe use too many RAM even for small queries.

Great tool that keeps on improving

Vorteile:

I've been using dbvis for almost 20 years. It is reliable, has all the features I need, and keeps on improving to support more server types and add new features. I like its ability to build queries with column aids, to run large queries when necessary, to keep track of many database connections, and to run explain plan queries with visualization.

Nachteile:

No problems really. I've stuck with it for a long time even though there are numerous competitors.

DbVisualizer is a fantastic tool for a Database developer or DBA

DbVisualizer Streamlines Data Gathering Needs into 1 Application

Kommentare: DbVisualizer streamlines my query needs by making it a one-stop shop. I have MongoDB, T-SQL, Oracle, etc. connections setup so I can access our everything from one simple query tool.

Vorteile:

I like how I can connect to multiple database types from one application. I also like being able to quickly view the data without having to write or wait for a default query to run. The export to CSV is so much faster and easier than your standard SSMS.

Nachteile:

I wish the shortcut keys were easier to use and similar to SSMS. I catch myself hitting F5 instead of Shift + Enter a lot. It would be nice to also have a right click view top ### rows as well.

DbVisualizer is the Best DB Management

Kommentare: I have been using DbVisualizer since I started working, which is more than 10 years now. DbVisualizer is an easy-to-use tool designed to work with almost every database. The databases I use regularly are DB2 and MariaDB.

Vorteile:

I use the pro package, which has a variety of capabilities. I usually to use check cost of SQL for the most performance running in program.

Nachteile:

One thing I don't like about DbVisualizer is that it tends to hang or crash when used with large databases or tables with huge amounts of data.

Kommentare: It's been seamless in connecting to different data sources.

Vorteile:

One of the best options with DbV is the Query Builder. Being able to build queries through this tool helped me to visualize and understand syntax, table joins, and many other features. I was a beginner when I started but now I am not only able to write queries with out the query builder, I also have a better understanding of how to use a db to maximize the data analysis. This is one tool that I open first thing in the morning and use it all day.

Nachteile:

Everything is really solid but offering more built-in connectors would be nice.

Once connected the manipulation and visualization of data were remarkable, making hacking together essential data a breeze.

Nachteile:

Finding a connector for Elastic and getting Elastic to work in AWS

Awesome and very powerful tool

Vorteile:

Fantastic tool very easy to use an very intuitive. The number of database supported is very good and so no need to have multiple apps. This is very helpful when you want to test a new database.

Nachteile:

The possibility to mix query results between multiple data source would be a great feature. Particularly when you use SQL and NoSQL databases.

Good product

Sometimes it's complicate to use a friendly constructor for relations between tables

I like so mutch the feature to navigate in my databases.

Nachteile:

At the moment, I dont miss any feature in DbVisualizer.

Easy and efftective

I love the ease of DBVisualizer, everything is there and easy to use. It doesn’t take a lot of training to figure out each capability.

Nachteile:

I do wish when importing from a file it gave a bit more info in what is failing if applicable.

I love DbVisualizer

Vorteile:

DbVisualizer is extremely easy to use. I love the interface. The ability to sort tables like a spreadsheet was a game changer for me. The software supports several different types of databases.

Nachteile:

Setting up a new database connection was a little daunting to me. There are a lot of drivers and options to choose from.

Game changer!

Kommentare: Mainly data collection from our standalone systems, to support advanced data analytics and reporting.

Vorteile:

DbVisualizer was a game changer for us when we were evaluating expensive products to do data collection. It provided as with cost effective options to collect large amount of data effortlessly.

Nachteile:

None that I can think of. It worked great and met all our requirements.

Powerful, flexible & verstile

Kommentare: Since 2015, I've been using DbVisualizer in order to work, primarily, with Salesforce. Since then I've also used it with Sqlite3, PostgreSQL, MS SqlServer and others. The Pro version is especially handy due to having the ability to open as many SQL (and other) windows as necessary. Once I used the macro abilities for ETL type of work and found that to be easier than expected. Overall, a solid, worthwhile tool.

Vorteile:

Interfaces with any database I've attempted to use. Extremely useful with Salesforce (assuming availability of an appropriate JDBC driver) Easy to discover schema, save schema, duplicate databases for multiple environments Shows all data in a specified table Data exportable and importable as CSV

Nachteile:

Sometimes, setting up a new database connection can be a little tricky. Admin must know the options.

The gold standard for multiple database management work.

Kommentare: I have yet to find a tool that works like DbVisualizer for my multiple database work.

Vorteile:

It is the best product on the market for multi-platform database management. A single interface for all the major databases. It saves me countless hours when working on different platforms. The spend to delivery is why it is my primary tool. The export tools are solid and provides for ease of cross platform work.

Nachteile:

The challenge with being the best for all platforms is that it also comes with its challenges regarding "explain plans" for database optimization.

DbVisualizer really does the job!

Kommentare: Greatly appriciate the software, have been using it for the last 8 years on and off, and I wouldn't be without it when handling databases

I like the GUI and the way you can manage multiple databases in a click!

Nachteile:

Double clicking on the database should start the run SQL command window rather than showing connection information of the DB

Vorteile:

Usability; marvelous GUI with extraordinary features; nice and prompt user support.

Nachteile:

I don't see any feature which hasn't been handle with extreme care to offer good service and a very easy to use interface.

DBVisualizer eases the pain of database management

Vorteile:

DBVis makes it easy to manage the diverse database systems in our enterprise. In particular the ssh-tunnel feature is invaluable when connecting to databases that only allow local connections. The ability to connect, triage and resolve issues with data is invaluable.

Nachteile:

While it's multi-platform, it is slow on almost all platforms.

Great Product

Kommentare: I have been using this product for over 5 years. I searched for a long time, tried many other products but once I found DbVisualizer my search was over. I even prefer and use this over MySQL’s Workbench.

Vorteile:

This is my go to product for dealing with our MySQL instances which host our data warehouse. It has everything I need and it is simple to use. I do not think I have ever referenced the help for DbVisualizer.

Nachteile:

I would like to see the ability to deal with user accounts and permissions added.

Connects to almost every database

Vorteile:

DBVisualizer is our daily tool for querying databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server and Informix. It has many handy features like exporting Data to various formats, importing Data from Excel and CSV, auto completition, or editing result sets.

Nachteile:

Not much to complain about, but application startup can take a while with a huge sql history.
