Kommentare: Hilfreiches Tool das ich im Alltag nicht mehr missen möchte. Besonders die Zugrifffunktion über die App auf dem Mac ist sehr komfortable.

Vorteile:

Texte, Beschreibungen oder Dokumente zu erstellen an denen ich nicht nur alleine arbeite. Hierfür ist Paper einer der besten Apps, die ich in diesem Bereich kenne. Viel einfacher und praktikabler als bspw. Word, weil die keine Dokumente hin und her geschickt werden müssen.

Nachteile:

Die Formatierungsoptionen sind nicht besonders üppig. Dies ist wirklich ein Nachteil für mich. Ich habe das so gelöst, dass ich das Dokument nach Fertigstellung downloade und erst dann endgültig formatiere.

Some times drop box doesn't allow you to click and drag files and store some large files too.

Kommentare: We are a small non-profit organization with employees in four locations. We needed a "server" that would allow us to securely store all of our documents, back them up on an ongoing basis, and be easy to access for company employees who were not part of the management team. It is also necessary to share documents with third parties who are not part of the company and who also have read-only or edit-only access. Dropbox accomplishes this in an outstanding way. Dropbox is more convenient for me than other programs like Carbonite or Google Docs. It is simpler to use and functions as a repository where all my documents are stored, but I can only access them when I am not logged in. The next time I log in on a wireless network, it will take care of syncing everything again.

Vorteile:

Dropbox makes a duplication of everything, so in case something goes wrong, you don't lose any documents you've been working on. Dropbox makes files available from the web, so I don't need to carry my computer with me at all times. Dropbox syncs with all team members' computers, allowing documents to be kept up to date and accessible to all employees at all work locations.

Nachteile:

With Dropbox software installed on my computer, I can access any file on the server, even when I'm not logged in. However, it does mean that I have a copy of everything on my local computer, and that can take up significant hard drive storage space quickly. If Dropbox is not installed on your computer, it will take longer to visit the website, enter your details and find the document you want, then you will have to download and install it before you can upload it.

Kommentare: I don't use it as much as other note-capturing apps (Like Apple Notes and google docs), but I have been impressed with how easy DropBox Paper is and the features it has.

Vorteile:

The features, especially: Timeline, tables, ToDo lists, adding media.

Nachteile:

It is not quite as quick or convenient as Apple Notes or services like that.

Dropbox Paper has helped us to be able to share information with staff working remotely, and speed up the approval process of documents.

If a link is shared but not as an invite to join, anyone who comes across that link can view the material just can’t edit or download. I think for security they should send a one time passkey to get into the folder at all.

A product without a clear purpose

Vorteile:

I've mostly used Dropbox Paper for document storage and some collaboration in the past and it's been fine. We still keep some of our documents here and it's reasonably easy to file and organise these documents.

Nachteile:

I feel that I've never fully understood the unique purpose of Dropbox Paper and so probably haven't made the most of it. It seems to me that it's superceded by other tools that are more successful and therefore I haven't had a good reason to use it more extensively. We use the Google suite, Notion and Linear more extensively for the features that Dropbox Paper offers.

So simple, but very power for organization and task coordination

Kommentare: Paper is, for my team, the ideal replacement for hardcopy notes and simple assignments. Too many alternatives try doing too much in a small window of use. Dropbox Paper keeps you connected, on the same page, and mobile when need be.

Vorteile:

The most powerful feature for us (working in software) has been the simplistic yet powerful markup and shortcuts system. The formatting is so easy to use but also isn't restricted to one method, allowing more mouse-centric or keyboard-oriented users flexability.

Nachteile:

I wouldn't mind seeing a dedicated desktop application in addition to the browser interface. Even if it was just a PWA, it would keep users from being so married to more tabs in their web browser.

Good Tools For Organizing Files

Vorteile:

The software is easy to setup and can have multiple users to the same team which makes sharing and editing the files very easy within the team. Users can collaborate and also add to the projects.

Nachteile:

If there was an option to include default templates editing files would have been great.

COULD be great, but it's just OKAY

Vorteile:

Dropbox is pretty great as a streamlined, limited-option software for document creation. It is generally aesthetically pleasing and really very easy to use, especially if you want a lot of nice-looking hyperlinks (automatically formatted to embed) and photos.

Nachteile:

However, unlike Google Docs and Google Drive, you cannot embed Dropbox Paper docs in other places. In my opinion and use case, this kills the experience of the software. The reason I like Paper is because of the ease and casualness of it. But its best use is not as a "main line," but rather as an "extension" to be utilized by some other main line—I hope that image comes across effectively. It has so much potential, but you can tell Dropbox doesn't really care about it anymore. I'm sad about that because I really do enjoy it, despite my criticisms.

Vorteile:

I love the simplicity of the tasklists with due dates and assigned users. We use this tool for so many things, and its just what we need and nothing we don't in each case. (shout out to the sorting features: ctrl+arrow)

Nachteile:

Oh geez. I can't even. I'm trying to think of any time I've been frustrated or disappointed... nothing comes to mind. I think once the auto-renaming of URLs based on the title flaked out for a bit and make links not work right. Self-corrected.

Superb note-taking tool

Kommentare: I've used Paper as a personal and professional note-taking app for the past few years. I see it as mainly a competitor to Evernote and Confluence, however it is superior to both in my opinion. The collaboration tools are excellent and the 'to-do' list is sufficiently powerful for the majority of use-cases. For myself, the best features are the fact that it uses normal markdown syntax and supports latex equations. All you need is a web-browser to use it and the mobile app is very solid.
The app is simple, but it makes excellent design choices and as a result, anyone can use it immediately. Low barrier-to-entry and simplicity are exactly what I want from a note-taking/collaboration tool, so I would highly recommend it.
It's not a replacement for a word processor, nor does it intend to be.

I would like footnotes and references. Performance stutters with very large documents.

Kommentare: My overall experience with Dropbox has been good. The ability to upload files for suppliers to retrieve and quote parts I need versus having to physically send the hard copy files through the US mail, delaying receiving quotes.

Vorteile:

What I like most about Dropbox is the max upload size.

What I like least about Dropbox is not being able to hide private files.

Great for quick notes - will be there any future development?

Kommentare: Dropbox Paper is a quite good piece of software that helps me to be organised on my trips and share notes with my friends. I feel, however, that its development is a little bit in stagnation. I wish they could devote more care to this - especially if they could somehow integrate it into main desktop app.

Vorteile:

I really like how quickly I can make notes and share them, ingegrate images or even Google Maps. I am using many different types of software for notetaking but I happen to come back to Dropbox Paper every time I want to make a special document for one of my trips (research or leisure) with detailed timetable, pictures of tickets, ideas etc. It is also easy to share a very user friendly.

Nachteile:

My biggest issue is that it crashes on my Android phone (Nexus 6p). Otherwise, I think that it should be better integrated with the desktop Dropbox application. I really don't like that I have to always go on the website just to open the document and that Dropbox paper has a separate folder strcuture. It would be great if it would be simply another document in my Dropbox folder.
