Nachteile:

It sometimes hides the videos that are appropriate and thus you might end up not viewing the videos and ads you intended to view.

Safeshare makes using videos worry free

Kommentare: Overall, I love safe share. I used the free version for a year or so and then decided to subscribe. It is an investment in my teaching that is worth it! I would recommend it to a teacher who wants to incorporate more video clips into teaching without the worry.

Vorteile:

Safeshare makes it very easy to download YouTube videos and create videos where you do not have to worry about what pops up at the end or ads in the middle. I like how I can save my safe views for easy access at another time. Whether you pay so you can have unlimited safe share videos or use the limited free version, it is a great product and I am very quick to recommend it to my colleagues.

Nachteile:

I wish I could organize my safe shares by subject without having to create playlists. I like to upload links to the videos in Google Classroom and I do;t always want my students to watch the entire playlist. I also wish I could use safe share for TeacherTube and other things.

Simple Ad-Free Video Sharing Platform

Kommentare: SafeShare.tv has always been a reliable product for cleaning up and editing video links. It has gotten more clunky over the last few years, but it can still be counted on to get the job done, especially if you are willing to pay for the premium subscription.

Vorteile:

SafeShare.tv is a simple, quick way of cleaning up videos. What I like most about it is that I can snag a YouTube link, drop it into SafeShare, quickly select the custom start and end times for the video, then post the link for my students, all while avoiding any ads or pop ups. There is a free version that allows for about ten saved videos, but these can easily be deleted and changed out when needed.

Nachteile:

SafeShare.tv can be a little clunky at times. There have been instances in which I've tried to upload a video and it just fails repeatedly with no explanation. With the inclusion of the premium account (like with anything else), using the free account has gotten more restricted and cumbersome. If you are willing to invest in a full subscription, it is really a nice product. Otherwise, with the free account it is a usable, relatively-reliable product.

SafeShare is an amazing tool for educators

Kommentare: The site is very easy to use. Links are easy to embed or use in lessons and share with colleagues, students, or parents. I love how SafeShare protects me from accidentally showing inappropriate videos that can pop up on YouTube or other video sourcing apps.

Vorteile:

I like the ease of use this software provides. I teach K-5 General music. I embed a lot videos for my classes. SafeShare allows me to not worry about unexpected pop up adds or sponsored videos in the middle of an example I’m using. It helps protect my students.

Nachteile:

The free account limits you to 20 videos.

Solution to utilizing YouTube in the digital classroom

Kommentare: Our overall experience with SafeShare has been outstanding. We use it regularly and the feedback has been positive.

Vorteile:

SafeShare.tv is the solution that we were looking for when it came to allowing teachers to continue to use YouTube videos within their lessons. We had complaints about distractions, both from students and parents, and SafeShare allowed us to minimize these distractions in a student and teacher friendly view. The SafeShare tool is extremely easy to use and has become our go-to for preventing unnecessary content from displaying within lessons.

Nachteile:

Occasionally there has been a challenge with extracting Vimeo videos into the SafeShare tool. We have experienced this very few times though; SafeShare is reliable.

A very nice viewing experience.

Kommentare: Video sharing without any privacy or ad blocker is really very good for productivity. Some times this is very important not to have any unwanted video in the playlist.

Vorteile:

I like the idea of sharing without any kind of recommendations, which is very awkward when not showing the relevant content. I don't have any problem with the advertisement which also helps me and some creators to provide great content. But as a teacher, some time ads are distractive to my slideshow and some time it is appropriate. Start and end time set for a video is not a great feature for me but it's useful in some use cases.

Nachteile:

It has ads blocker and does not show ads. So no monetization is possible. Creating a playlist is not very straight forward. A drag and drop feature will be great.

Great tool for Educators!

Kommentare: I love using SafeShare.tv in my classroom. We us it almost daily to watch YouTube videos that are ad free. Sometimes the ads on YouTube are distracting or inappropriate for 1st graders and this allows my class to view videos that enhance our learning and keeps us engaged and connected to the material we are learning. I would definitely recommend SafeShare.tv to any teacher looking for a way to safely view YouTube videos in your classroom.

Share videos with students safely & easily with SafeShare.tv

Vorteile:

I love that I can share educational videos with my students easily and safely using this tool. Additional text and ads are not included on the side of the video, so my students can see the educational content without distractions. I can save videos to curate a collection, and trim a video to only show the parts I want them to see. It's a great tool for the classroom.

Nachteile:

Our district recently implemented some filters and SafeShare.tv is getting caught in our filter, I am not sure why. It is making it difficult to use in some instances.

Creates Safe Videos

Kommentare: SafeShare has helped me to monitor what students are seeing when I send them videos. It also allows video sharing that is permitted through the school filters (YouTube is blocked in many schools).

Vorteile:

I love that SafeShare allows teachers to show videos without worrying about unwanted ads. It is also useful to be able to clip a video to show only a desired portion. It is an easy way to share videos with students while helping to limit unwanted ad distractions.

Nachteile:

SafeShare recently limited the number of SafeShares that you are allowed with the free version. I used to use SafeShare everytime I wanted to show a video, but now it is limited.

Free ad-blocking on YouTube, sort of

Kommentare: Usually I just go to YouTube because the hassle of using SafeShare outweighs its benefits. If I were teaching elementary school, I would use this more, but the high school students don't care that I get recommendations to watch YouTube videos of old SNL sketches and demonstrations of educational toys. I will be using it more often when I get the aforementioned error on YouTube.

Vorteile:

Sometimes, I don't want my students to see recommended videos based on what I watch on my person Google account, or I don't want any inappropriate ads. With SafeShare.TV, you can place a YouTube link which they convert to a SafeShare link. Clicking that link allows you to watch the YouTube video on their site with no ads or background noise. I've been getting an error with some YouTube videos that read "Video unavailable: This video is restricted. Try signing in with a G Suite account." Watching on another browser often fixes this, but Explorer won't play YouTube videos, soon. Playing the video through SafeShare does work, though.

Nachteile:

You need to do this in advance and have the links to each video saved before hand. This is not something teachers should be doing in front of a class because that would defeat its purpose.

Hi! I often show videos/clips to my class to help understanding and promote learning growth. Unfortunately, most of these video stem from a 3rd party website like dailymotion, youtube, or vimeo that contain ads, and sidebar links that can distract students from the video. I found safeshare.tv last year through my IT department and was HOOKED! You simply copy and paste the link into safeshare and they generate a screen of just the video you want...NO ADS, NO DISTRACTING SIDEBARS!!!! It has helped my students and learning objectives stay on point. They also can save your video links in your convenient channel so you can view them EASILY the next day. If you're tired of hearing, "Can we watch that video next?" then get safeshare.tv TODAY!!!!

They will only let you save a limited number of links :( But, it's around 20!

SafeShare is great, however....

Vorteile:

I love that the product takes a regular link to something like a Youtube video intended to be shown to a class of 7 year- olds and will make sure that no inappropriate language, pictures, etc. pop-up during it. It is like having an insurance policy that gives you peace of mind that you are covered in that area.

Nachteile:

Cost---it used to be a free product for teachers and now we have to pay after so many uses. I wish there was a way that your company could get a grant or donation from a corporation that would help cover these costs for teachers. As you see, the county does not pay for this for us (even though we would get in trouble if inappropriate things popped up!) and we have so many things we pay for out of pocket as it is.

Kommentare: I loved using this website in my classroom & would recommend it to all teachers.

Vorteile:

I loved that it allowed me to safely share YouTube videos with my 3rd graders. I never had to worry about inappropriate and/or distracting ads popping up when I was trying to teach. I also liked that I could save them for later use (there were some videos that I needed daily). I liked being able to edit the length of the video before I uploaded it. I could set it to start & stop exactly where I wanted. This was a nice feature because many YouTube begin & end with a lot of talking that is irrelevant to my instruction.

Nachteile:

The only thing I didn’t like was there was a limit to the amount of videos I could keep saved. As previously mentioned, there were some videos I needed daily. As my collection of saved videos grew, I would have to delete 1 in order to upload a new one.

Great classroom resource!

Kommentare: Safehare has been immensely helpful to me as an elementary school teacher. It allows my class to view videos without worry about autoplaying another video, random ads popping up, or inappropriate language or content. It's wonderful to be able to tell my kids that they can pick any video without having to veto their choices, as I know everything on SafeShare is appropriate for my youngsters!

Vorteile:

The process of transferring a video is simple and easy, and the user interface is likewise intuitive and easy to navigate. SafeShare's focus on providing safe content is clear, and it filtered out several videos as inappropriate due to mild (but still offensive to some) language that I hadn't caught in my preview.

Nachteile:

Some possible improvements include making it possible to copy over only a small portion of a video (especially helpful for longer videos that we just want a snippet of, or videos that have inappropriate content in an area we don't plan to watch). Another idea is to make a way to file videos (for example, I could save videos in a "Science" "Social Studies" or "Math" folder) to keep clutter down.

safeshare tv use in my classroom

Kommentare: I had a good experience with safeshare. I used it in my classroom often. It saved me from the paranoia of my students hearing something unnecessary in my classroom. Often times commercials aren't inappropriate but shift the focus from what I want the video to be about to the commercials that they see and hear. Also it saves the time from having to look for the video because I have already loaded it and I can use it again and again for different classes.

Vorteile:

I don't have to worry about my students seeing or hearing advertisements in videos that I want to use and share that are coming from the internet. I teach elementary school and it saves me feel like I am providing a safe classroom.

Nachteile:

I wish I had more safeshares available. I did not like the most recent changes that were made I thought it was more difficult to navigate and it took me more time to load the videos I wanted to use. Also I had to delete videos that I had already used to make way for new ones. I often use the same videos from year to year and forget what version of something I liked or where to find it. It would be nice if could stay on there.

SafeShare is great for history teachers!

Kommentare: SafeShare is great for teachers! I have a premium subscription and I have encouraged several of my colleagues in my school to use SafeShare. I recommend SafeShare to ALL educators.

Vorteile:

As a history teacher, I refer to video clips for much of my lessons to enhance the content being taught. YouTube has a plethora of material, and SafeShare makes it easier for me to take this material and make it part of my lessons. I am able to find the history clip that I need, get rid of the ads, and adjust the video to make it applicable to my lesson. The students find this very helpful! Some of my students have created their own SafeShare accounts to use when presenting information in projects.

Nachteile:

My only con is that some of the video clips that I need are deemed "inappropriate" by SafeShare because of the battle content. Videos that I use are on materials such as the American Revolution and Civil War. In the past, I've had to find another video on YouTube or email SafeShare directly to get access to the video.

LOVE this app!

Vorteile:

As a teacher, I use Safeshare on a daily basis. It is absolutely wonderful to have a way to show YouTube content to my class without annoying (and often inappropriate) ads! I also appreciate that students can't see the other available videos that show up when choosing the right one. Creating SafeShares is quuck and easy as well. The ability to create playlists has saved me tons of time, and is the main reason I pay for the subscription.

Nachteile:

The cost is a bit high. I would like it better if it was just a flat yearly fee closer to $25.

K-2 Elementary Classroom

Kommentare: I am thankful for this kind of software that can be used in an elementary classroom. Without it, my students would not have access to many of the instructional support media that I get from YouTube.

Vorteile:

SafeShare links allow me to provide students with videos to view safely on their student Chromebooks. I use the links daily in my instruction with the confidence that my students will view only the information that I am using in my lesson without inappropriate ads and other distracting material.

Nachteile:

I don't like that the free version only allows 20 videos to keep before having to delete what I have saved and need.

Great Tool for Engaging Lessons

Kommentare: My students have been more engaged in lessons before my use of short video clips to introduce lessons. They have responded especially well to using educational songs on video that I normally would have avoided showing because of the inappropriate ads that pop up.

Vorteile:

SafeshareTV allows me to take advantage of thousands of free resources on video sharing channels while protecting my students from inappropriate and unwanted content. Parents appreciate that their children can enjoy learning from fun clips.

Nachteile:

I liked least that there was not a notification to me when I accidentally added the same content multiple times.

Peace of mind

The overall experience with SafeShare is awesome because it gives me a peace of mind in my classroom that my students are safely watching what I have shared with them. A huge thank you for that. I teach second graders so SafeShare is my go to when I have a video for them to view.

Vorteile:

I rate SafeShare high because it is worth having a peace of mind in the classroom that all those unappropriate videos won't pop up while my students are viewing what I want them to watch. I can also link a video that I have uploaded to SafeShare into Seesaw app and my students can watch it very easily. I know that when I use SafeShare, my students can view videos independently while I am working with other students, and I don't have to worry about them clicking on other videos. They are watching only the one I want them to watch.

Nachteile:

It is no longer free and there is limit on how many free ones you can have.

Amazing Tech Tool for Elementary

Kommentare: My experience has been nothing but positive and I personally use this tool on a daily basis. I highly recommend for every educator to use tool when sharing a video with students, especially at the elementary level.

Vorteile:

SafeShare.tv enables my elementary students to view videos I select in a safe environment. I also love that it’s intuitive for educators to use and it’s compatible with Seesaw.

Nachteile:

I guess the only downfall would be the free version has very limited space to store videos for future reference. I wish educators could get more space to save their videos.

Keep kids safe the easy way

Kommentare: It is really hard to find good educational video content. As a teacher I need to protect my young students from inappropriate video content. Some videos have great content however sometimes ads and other links are not appropriate for my students. Safeshare tv allows me to show appropriate videos to my students without having to worry about inappropriate ads or links that will lead them to other videos I have not vetted yet. It is a
Quick way to share content with students that will allow me to teach the standards but yet allow safety for my students.

I like that I can easily take videos and quickly remove ads, buttons, and links to other sites by simply pasting link into safeshare website.

That to make more than a few videos you have to purchase a subscription

Kommentare: My primary use of this site is to create clean copies of YouTube videos to show my students. I love that the site is easy to use and creates a copy of the video that will be shown without additional ads popping up that be not be appropriate for my students to see.

Vorteile:

It’s easy to use. It gives me a “clean” copy of a video to show my students without having to go on YouTube and risk something something inappropriate popping up. I can edit the stop and start point on a video.

Nachteile:

I have nothing that I dislike about this software at this time.
