Long time user, very happy

Kommentare: At first we used it for multi-streaming to try to grow our audience by pushing to various services and it worked great for that. Now we use it as a relay. It seems to reduce our latency to Twitch and it allows us to do some checks before the show goes live.

Vorteile:

It was a little less expensive than the competition, which is why we chose it. Over time, we've found it very useful. Even just things like checking the audio video sync before going live... it's a huge advantage to have a service like this.

Nachteile:

Sometimes it logs me out in the middle of a session. This is just an annoyance, it's not a huge deal but logging back in to start the stream can be a little annoying.

Excellent Live Streaming Quality and Geo-Blocking with Minor Playback Control Issue

Kommentare: I have been using the service for one year, and overall, it was impressive. I used it primarily for live streaming cricket games happening in our country. The geo-blocking feature worked perfectly, and the video quality was excellent. The colors and design of their media bars were visually appealing. However, the only issue I encountered was the lack of control for rewinding and fast-forwarding.

Castr Is Great for Simplifying the Livestream Workflow

Kommentare: Castr has been great. It feels a little "cheep" or "unrefined" in some areas. I'll get error messages that I shouldn't have gotten which are fixed with a simple page refresh. But for simply streaming, it's a great bang for the buck.

Vorteile:

Castr has been incredible for simplifying our workflow. It is invaluable being able to stream to one provider and then let Castr send the stream to our different social channels and websites.

Nachteile:

The pre-recorded stream feature in Castr needs a lot of work. It often looks like it's set up correctly but when it comes time for the stream to start, the file simply doesn't play.I also don't like how when you add the chat embed, or the playlist embed it changes the overall window size. Playlist embed should still be 16x9 ratio with the playlist as a popover. Like how YouTube's playlist embed works. This alone has made it so we don't embed VOD folders from Castr.

1 Year so far...

the interface it a little confusing, especially with the analytics. Also, that the save latest livestream has not been working correctly. I have to ask for it manually. It will not allow me to download it. It freezes fun download. I have to ask you to put it in google Drive for me to download it.

Excellent quality and partnership

Kommentare: I have had chance to do live streaming (we are a production company) and, even the market is changed and reduced the live requests all the time CAST has been a perfect partner; great support in Italy too.

Reliability, easy to use End, not to forget, price/quality ratio is really good an any company can find a size for any needs

Missing an audio-only solution, which in some cases (live podcasting) could be really interesting

Kommentare: I have loved using castr from day one. It has been pretty much the easiest multi streamer I have tried.

Vorteile:

I loved the great affordability. I also thought it was very easy to use and best of all it did what it is supposed to. I never have had any dropped connections with it.

Nachteile:

Honestly I can't think of any negatives as far as the way I use it, it's perfect for my needs. We use it to multi stream our weekly church services.

it is easy to use, very accessible, and tech support is very accessible and very helpful. I like their desktop app very handy.

Nachteile:

as with most apps you have to get use to, so with Castr at the beginning - over two years now, but they have improved accessibility now.

Increase your reach with minimal expense or expertise

Vorteile:

Very very simple for volunteers to go live with our stream. The standalone app makes it even simpler. One toggle and we are live.

Nachteile:

Often we have to sign back in to the app and that slows things down. Having same computer on the same network each time should not require logging in or at least make that an option

Great but a bit pricey for one off

Kommentare: Over the years, Castr has never given me any doubt that it is a platform I can trust for multistreaming.Often companies of this caliber overlook the issue of customer support, yet one of Castr's strengths is exactly that. Any problem you have can be resolved in a matter of minutes via live chat.Furthermore, the platform delivers exactly what it promises to do and at a very competitive price.

Vorteile:

Once I started livestreaming client events, I quickly ran into the problem of multistreaming. Castr was one of the first platforms I tried, and I ended up sticking with it. The ease of use, customer support, and stability of the platform were the main reasons I kept using it.When I need to multistream, I know I can count on Castr to have everything ready in a matter of minutes.

Nachteile:

Honestly, I have yet to encounter a problem that customer support has not been able to resolve. That being said, I have had to deal with customer support a few times due to bugs in the platform, however, overall, every problem I have had has been resolved and the team has always been very helpful.

Best product for our Church Livestream

Kommentare: My overall experience with Castr has been above and beyond my expectations. It has been fantastic and I highly recommend it to anyone that would like to broadcast to multiple destinations at one time.

Vorteile:

Castr is so easy to use and allows so much freedom when it comes to our church livestreams. I have quickly been able to train other congregation members, who are more elderly, to use this software with ease which allows more freedom for me. With that said being able to login from any location allows me to troubleshoot any ideas they may come across when I am not on site. I love this product very much.

Nachteile:

I cannot say there are any cons I have found with Castr. This product has been so good and reliable that it creates a quality product to multiple destinations at one time making my life so much easier. If I have to mention one con, is that I have not been able to figure out the responding to all platforms at one time, but I think that comes from me using a phone and not a computer.

The ability to use a prerecorded stream has been amazing. Also to be able to stream to multiple platforms has been amazing.

The fact that the complete application is unable to be controlled on a desktop is the biggest setback.

Castr.io punches above its weight

Kommentare: Overall, my company has saved hours of labor per show by utilizing Castr.io, as we can remove the need for multiple on-site encoders and use Castr.io to move video from remote sites to our studio reliably.

Vorteile:

Castr.io provides many features and capabilites at a cost far more competitive than it's competition.

Nachteile:

Pricing models at the time of our use encouraged us to create multiple accounts instead of upgrading our plan to a larger tier.

Reliable Product Used Weekly to Live Stream

Kommentare: We've used it for at least three years that I can remember and it's met our needs. Based on this survey there are features it has that we're not using evidently - I'll look into that

Vorteile:

Once it's set up - it's relatively easy to launch each week.

Nachteile:

There were a few times we had trouble getting the program up and running and we didn't have/know of a way to secure help from Castr. Additionally We had to call in an expert to update some settings in our system...We're not professionals so it could. have been caused by a user error or standard system changes. Would love the program to be a bit more intuitive.

A capable multi streamer

Kommentare: Our club live streams music from our stage. Castr make this a breeze, and always stable. Pre production time can be precious. Castr helps make those minutes count.

Great Service

Kommentare: Multistreaming is what I mostly use it for and my experience has been very positive little to no hiccups at all.

Vorteile:

Castr is an amazing product and I have yet to really tap into all of its features but I will say it's very reliable and the customer service is great and fast when I have concerns or questions.

Nachteile:

I don't have any cons, this product does everything I need it to and more.

My experience with Castr the past 6 months.

Kommentare: I started a podcast about 10 months ago and before I did them live I would just record them and upload the video. Its hard to make it as any type of streamer these days, especially when you're new and have 0 viewers and get put at the bottom of the bunch. I wanted to reach as many people as possible, in the easiest way. I spent a lot of time watching videos on how to simulcast and whats the best soft ware to use. Most came with $50 + a month bill. Since I'm not currently making any money from producing content the price matters. Then I found caster. It had everything I was looking for, unlimited stream hours, stream on multiple platforms, (I personally stream on Twitch, Mixer, Youtube & Dlive). It made my life incredibly easier. In the first day I connected all my accounts and clicked the go live button, boom, that easy; and its only $15 a month. That's cheaper than my bar tab. I would recommend Castr's simulcast package to ANYONE who is just starting. Sometimes I get a few followers on mixer, then the next day its youtube or maybe twitch. I'm reaching as many people as I can at once and instead of just building up my stream following on one platform, I'm doing it on 4 at once. I could do even more if I wanted to. Overall Castr can't be beat for its simulcast service and price, I have had castr for over 6 months now and don't plan on canceling anytime soon.

Nachteile:

Over the past 6 months since I've been using it there has been a few hiccups. Some times when I start streaming, it will say my account is linked and connected but it wont be streaming on the platform. Example: I stream on youtube, twitch, mixer and Dlive. On the home screen it says my mixer account is connected and live, but when I visit my page on mixer it says I'm offline. I then have to try deleting and reconnecting my account to Castr or resetting my stream key, and even then it does not always work. I have only had this problem mainly with Mixer (youtube and twitch every now and then). That being said I'm not sure if this is a problem on Castr's end or Mixers. I have chatted with a worker about this issue and alls he had me do was the same steps I listed above. Deleted, re-link, try again. This option does not always work. Then the next day everything will magically work again. This is a very minor problem but can grow to be very irritating. Some other small cons I've noticed. The integrated chat seems to only link Youtube, Mixer and Twitch. Any smaller platforms don't detected. I use OBSLabs to live stream, and some of the apps don't work as they should. For example the viewer count extension where it shows the amount of viewers per platform only shows my viewers on twitch. Not the other 3 platforms I'am streaming on. Again, I'm not sure if that is a problem on OBSlabs end or Castr's.

Livestreaming churches should look at Castr first!

Kommentare: We have yet to run into any troubles in our livestreaming with Castr over the last couple of years.

Vorteile:

The set-up was extremely simple. The cost is affordable for smaller organizations as well as larger. The simple push of a button use makes this easy for non techie types. Customer service was simple as we needed to upgrade our plan for a couple months and then go back to our regular set-up. Made working with Castr very powerful.

Nachteile:

Nothing no dislike in our experience of using Castr.
